Okay. Message received. Horde has spoken.
I have a bunch of boring updates for you.
Vellum.
I am so sorry, we are still waiting on the items from the printer. They gave us part of the order, and the rest of it should happen today. I debated about this update, because the fault is on us and we are not trying to throw them under the bus. These are just the realities of printing business – there are paper shortage, etc. I’m going over there at 4:00 pm today, and hopefully will come back with things. I will keep you posted.
We have filled 2,030 orders, and we are still 813 orders out. It will be another couple of weeks. I apologize. This is due to inexperience. It will not happen again.

The next merch drop will be done differently: we will be limiting the number of packs per order, and we will preprint a much larger quantity in advance. We were blind-sided by the number of orders.
Questions that came up:
My friend go a sticker on the back of her packet, and I didn’t get one.
The vellum packet is placed into a plastic sleeve with a resealable adhesive strip near the top. To get this thing to work, you pull the top layer of plastic off, revealing the glue, fold, and stick. Sometimes when you pull that plastic strip on top, the glue comes off with it. So we just grab whatever is handy, usually a small sticker of some sort, and slap it on there to keep the packet closed.

So it’s not the extra sticker, it’s just the plastic sleeve was slightly defective. I promise, you are not missing out.
I emailed to the store and haven’t heard back.
Please email again. I usually reply within 24 hours. If you haven’t heard from me, the email has bounced for some reason.
Katie Eckhoff, we have been trying to reach you regarding your car’s extended warranty a vellum pack that was returned to us. We sent three emails and haven’t heard back.
The App

Drumroll, please. We have gotten the final approval on the app. We had to prove to Apple that we are who we are, and that our developer has the right to make the app with our IP.
The app is set to go live by midnight. Apple users can now search the app store for it and “preorder” it. It is free. No purchase required. We do not store any of your information. The app lives on your phone.
Right now it is an abbreviated version, meaning that we mostly uploaded Maggie stuff, but we will be adding the other series and goodies.
Massive thank you to the beta team, who has gone above and beyond.
Personal update
The edit for the Maggie #2 isn’t done. We are behind. We really have to push forward on edits, and of course, on vellum.
This is happening because … Well, we both really want to make this book the best it can be. So many of you loved This Kingdom and we don’t want to disappoint. I won’t lie, there is a little bit of self-imposed pressure here. We need this to be good, so we are really trying to make it all snap together. You can probably tell by the lack of meaningful blog updates that we are buried.
So we are going back to work on the manuscript, and we will see you around. We wish you the best week!

The refresh key payed off! It’s not first friday but i needed something
So excited about the app! Sorry the success of this kingdom has added pressure to Maggie 2 ❤️
And Happy Monday to House Andrews. Thank you for all that you do for the Mighty Horde – we are not worthy, but extremely grateful.
Now back to returning university students on campus – hoping this week one will not leave a look-a-like hand grenade paperweight (yes, it really did happen) on their desk for a terrified professor to find in the classroom.
Having the Bomb Squad show up on campus the first day of classes is NOT the way we want to start the semester.
O_O
Oh wow. And I thought my first week of the semester was rough.
Lack of meaningful blog updates?? I think y’all have been fabulous about the updates — especially considering allllll the spinning plates. 🙂
You go above and beyond! If it wouldn’t cost you money, I’d suggest outsourcing the mailing of the vellum. I never expected that you’d send it out yourselves. 🤯
Don’t worry about us here. You keep writing and editing and doing the things that only you 2 can do. We understand that it just means you’re busy!
Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Please take care of yourself, both mentally and physically.
Thank you for everything! You are all greatly appreciated! 🤗
I laughed at Mod R’s disclaimer on the last blog post because it was immediately disregarded by the Horde
Appreciate the updates and sending positive writing energy for the edits!
Thank you for all you do! I’m looking forward to checking out the app.
You seem to underestimate our grabby little hands, judging by how many vellum orders you are processing, let alone the comments on the wonderful Ada snippet.😂 We ARE the BDH for a very good reason! 🥰
Any chance the Lawn Orphans might want to freelance as Postal Fairies for a bit and help you sort stuff out?
Hang in there, we appreciate all you do but please take care of yourselves!
I know deadlines with publishers can be scary, but the Horde can wait for Maggie. We want you happy with the result, because when Authors are happy, we are exstatic.
Take care, please do not overwork yourself too much <3
Sometimes you’re the victim of your own success. My husband says it like this:
“Congrats on winning the pie eating contest! Here’s your prize: MORE PIE!!”
Wishing you both calm and self affirming thoughts.
*Offers a BIG HUG*
You two are the best.
I am very excited about the app and hoping for a non iPhone version somewhere in the future. Until then I shall practice p*tience and wish you luck and energy for the comics weeks. Your Blog posts have been fabulous for the time between books and I very much appreciate the insight it gives me into the hardships you authors battle, be it hard chapters, suppliers, everyday exhaustion or an overly fluffy fancommunity. Thank you
App preorder: check! 😁😁😁
Just preordered the app. Loved the weekend snippet. Yea
Have a great week. You write it, i willread it and i will love it. 🥰 I hope you both find time to chill, a little.
As much as I want my vellum, take your time. Breathe! Don’t let our impatience pressure you. I promise we will still love you even if things get delayed. You guys are dang fast on your releases and we can totally take things taking more time. Just don’t pull a George RR Martin and take decades if ever. 😉
You guys are amazing with the amount of work you put in and how much you care!! It really does make you guys special. I’m in the UK so waiting for the velum to be available here, and I’m waiting for the app to be on android. But I’m still super grateful for all your work and what you give us. And know Maggie 2 may be kicking your butts a bit right now, but that it will absolutely be worth it!! I hope you guys take some time to breathe and just be for a while soon too, no pressure, no hard deadlines, just a chance to unwind and do the things that make you happy.
Thank you for the update, you are amazing, handling so many things at once. Happy editing! See you when we see you….
grateful for Maggie! Also loved the snippit on Friday – surely I’m not the only one who reread Inheritance over the weekend?
I finally read Ada’s story last night, really enjoyed it. I’d read the blog parts, and bought the book but never pulled it all together. It’s very good. Noah really needs a better dad figure. All the parts could make for a long running series but I know you have other interests, too.
Wishing you all some downtime, though I suspect you won’t allow yourselves to take it.
Yeah the chalantness was nowhere to be seen on that awesome snippet post. We try and work on that.
Wishing you the best week in return! Thank you for all your work on all the fronts.
I am amazed by all that you do for the Horde. Thank you!
I also have to say after that Inheritance snippet I have a serious case of the “I can’t wait”s. I can’t wait for the next Maggie, Inheritance, Innkeeper, Hidden Legacy (hopefully), and Kate Daniels. Whew! You guys are just too good. Can’t wait!
