Today I bring you… the Pink House!
3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1,778 square feet of pure pink awesomeness.
Its colors are blush and bashful. And coral, fuchsia, salmon, rosy, and Pepto-Bismol. The owner really made this into something special. I mean, it’s pitch perfect.
For more amazing photos, go to the listing. This took so much time and design skill.
I’m a Barbie girl in a Barbie world…
Gentle reminder: discussing the house, not the owner.

Early post?
Leo says
the Psycho poster in the bathroom was an interesting touch
Tink says
That and the “be nice to me” sign in one room.
Grayson says
that was my favorite part
Miriam says
Thought so too 😊
Michelle says
I thought the same thing!
Griffen says
This is dedication. However, I love that sewing room and I want to repurpose it for Warhammer.
Faith says
Wow. That is the only word I have fir that house.
Jade says
I’ll never forget your post of the bondage house 😂
Carolyn says
OMG!! Not possible!
Tasha says
hahaha yeah that place was insane. BDH got those specific photos of that house taken down REALLY quickly! It looked like a totally normal house until you got to certain photos!!
Other Barbara says
My sister and my cousin live near this house. Waiting to see if they know of it. My sister in law lived near Saiman’s place..the pervert house in Pennsylvania. But pick house wins the tacky prize imho.
Gastongirl says
I used to live on that street, but at the other end. Nice area.
Donna A says
I love this! It’s a really bloody cool house, I’d love to meet the owner. The garden let’s it down a tad but the basement stairs are lovely and my nan had the orange version of the toilet wallpaper in her kitchen when I was growing up. It’s like a retro pink 70s dream.
Katie R says
That wallpaper was incredibly similar to my sister’s an my bedspreads in the 70’s. It gave me a warm and happy flashback. ☺️
Ray says
My mom had that orange – pink flower wallpaper in her kitchen in the 60s!
Momcat says
I had a version with smaller flowers, same color scheme. Only in one wall of the kitchen though. Loved it.
Sechat says
Now that is….commitment! to an era (Coneheads poster?!) and a certain headspace…
I wonder if the HOA prevented a continuation of Rainbow Brite on the back of the house?
sarafina says
So this is your retirement cottage?
Ilona says
Could you help me understand what you mean by that comment? Are you trying to suggest that it’s time for me to retire? Or that only a retired person would live in a house like this?
Kristi says
I do not mean to speak for someone else but we do not want you to retire!
sarafina says
You’ve said before you and Gordon are looking to settle somewhere else, first Florida and later maybe one of the Carolinas. You want out of Texas, and the pink house seems whimsical with room for Gordon’s action figures and your yarn and crafts. And no, I don’t expect you guys to retire until you are at least 92.
Ash says
That… is insane. I can’t even begin to comprehend the time, effort and money it took to create this masterpiece 😳
MariaZ says
Maybe take a bit of the crafting money into some curb appeal and a little power washing of the house.
Carrie B says
Okay, the house is brow-raising, and I could never use the bathroom for fear of getting hit with a 3-day migraine, but I’m currently trying to figure out how to teleport that craft room up here as an addition to my house.
The more I looked around that room, the faster I was breathing.
I have to go take a cold shower now.
Tink says
The bathroom with the huge flower wallpaper? I had the same reaction.
I did like those colored stairs and I appreciated the organization that went into that craft room.
The rest…
Mary says
It’s combining the color drenched and maximalism trends for sure.
I like pink. I just like the pink when it’s more of an accent, like the golden thread trying everything together, as opposed to being the main feature of every room.
Oona says
Oh. Craft room? I’ll take the shelving and the what I *thought* was handbag collection? 🙂
Kate says
I never saw the inside but there was a pink house in my neighborhood growing up. I was impressed that the house. the porch and ALL of the flowers in the yard were pink, but thought painting the concrete walk pink was going a little too far.
Laura Martinez says
Have you considered staying at the Trixie Motel in Palm Springs? You’d love it. There’s even a reality show on its construction. It is open now.

This was posted on Bluesky and someone said the owner of the house is the creative behind this store which has lots of cute items: https://kategabrielle.com/
Onehsancare says
I think you’re right!
njb says
Apparently someone did want to live in her own Barbie house. I applaud her for doing exactly what she wanted! without liking any color in there. But the levels of organization are amazing. I do wonder if anyone will be able to see the possibilities of this house past all that pink though. WOW
nancy says
I am commenting on the pink house.
WOW!!!! Just WOW!!!!
Total brain overload. How did they FIT ALL THAT in that house?????
Retias says
Did Andrea have a hand in the design?
Tink says
Any real estate agents in the BDH? I find it hard to believe an agent wouldn’t tell them it would sell a lot better if they toned it down. Like a lot.
Ilona says
It costs approximately $8,000 to repaint the interior of the house of that size in US. When people are in such dire straits that they are selling their beloved home, they probably cannot afford to repaint.
njb says
With the pink fixtures, wall papers and painted cabinetry, my guess would be at least double that. She will have to take that into account in the selling price unless she lucks out and finds someone who loves it. So sorry for her having to sell.
Tink says
True.
Interesting to note the seller agent commission was 2.5%. First time I’ve seen that since that real estate lawsuit.
John says
I just checked the listings by me and most have Buyer’s Agent Commission 2.5% though there were 2.5%-$350, 2.25%-$350, 2.5%-$395, and 2.5%-$495.
No mention of seller’s agent commission.
Alicia says
The owner said on Twitter that she wanted to see if she could find a buyer who would love it as-is first (she put her heart and soul into and she’s devastated she has to sell to downsize), then if it didn’t sell she’d redecorate.
Tasha says
This makes me so sad
MariaZ says
Someone is absolutely not afraid of color and obviously their superpower is super organization.
MariaZ says
A basement in Florida??
Tink says
House is in New Jersey.
Skippy says
The house that I grew up in had a basement in Miami, FL. granted it was only about 10×10 but still a basement.
Di says
The owner is on twitter and when this listing went viral, she revealed that she had carefully designed this house to fit her taste and it took a ton of time/effort/money. She’s only selling now because of financial troubles and is really sad about it. 🙁
It’s not to my personal taste, but I respect the hell out of everyone who invests this much into their home to spark joy. The easier thing to do would not change anything for future ability to sell. I think the house speaks to how much the owner loved it.
Di says
Here is the link to her comments:

“A little (a lot) nervous about what my mentions are going to look like when I wake up tomorrow (so far I haven’t seen any of the zillow hate but I know it’s out there) so I’m taking a few days off twitter. Thank you to everyone who has been kind to me. I appreciate it so much! 💕
Just want to leave things on this note: this was my dream home and I designed it for *me* and nobody else. I never expected to have to sell it, and it’s breaking my heart. Just be kind, you never know what’s going on in someone else’s life.”
Elizabeth says
Thank you for sharing this background!
They really did put a lot of love into this house. I adore the level of organization they have
Kristi says
I am so sorry that she had to sell something she put so much love and work and herself into. Sending a prayer that the right buyer finds it who will appreciate it.
jewelwing says
Very sorry to hear this. Your home is your castle. Losing it is massively stressful, even if you’re going on to something that may be better. When you lose it for financial reasons, that is truly a tough row to hoe.
MariaZ says
You just need one buyer. Best of luck to her.
Tink says
That sucks. Hope she gets close to her asking price.
Tara says
Pure 1960’s. I didn’t realize how horrifying it was at the time.
Bev says
Oh my, so very pink! I liked the cut out in the basement door. Also the storage in the basement. My childhood also included a pink house. It was on a corner lot and had white wrought iron furniture out front. I have also seen a bright lavender house with purple lawn art and furniture. One wonders how the neighbors feel!
Louise A says
Good news/Bad news?
Honey, I just inherited a house. It has a bit of a pink theme…..
EarlineM says
Wow! There might be enough room for Ilona’s yarn in that basement!!!
Ilona says
Naaahhhh. We’d need to go bigger. Hahaha.
Actually all of my yarn lives in a single storage cube shelving unit now. I pared down.
Sandra says
I had a bright pink bedroom and bed covers and window curtains exactly like that bathroom wallpaper when I was a teenager in the early 70’s. Fond memories, but no way I’d paint like that now. Though I am drooling over the mid-century appliances. All that harvest gold… That house is a passion project for sure.
pete says
In an era of cream, beige, and light gray, gotta appreciate somebody who really goes for it.
Jenn says
Haha that is commitment to pink!! There is a pink house up for auction near me in Newburyport— it’s also called the “Spite House” for the reason: “ Local folklore states that the construction was the result of a court order requiring a man to build a house for his ex-wife. She stated she wanted an exact replica of her former home. So in a show of malicious compliance, the man did as ordered but nothing was said about the location, so the house was built on the outskirts of town in the marsh and painted it pink.”
— wicked Local
It’s only $3000 because the buyer will have to move it out of the wetland.
😊
Terrie C says
One part of my brain looks at the color and says oh no and then the other part of my brain looks at the organization and it’s like WOW. Everything is in its place and I love that and I’m sorry that she had to sell it because you can tell she put a lot of love into it.
Lora Tyler says
Wow!
wiedźma_floremtyna says
ow my eyes
Lynn says
Lots of work and lots of love. They were very happy.
Most houses you see being sold now are gray, gray and off white. I know they have been repainted to sell but they do not feel like anyone actually lived there.
Joyce says
Wowzer! Pink happens to be one of my favorite colors but I think I would feel traumatized if I had to spend more than a few minutes in that house!
Gwen says
I wonder if the person that organized the basement and sewing room would like to come to Texas and organize our storage container?!? And that walk-in closet is to die for; except for the creepy mannequin and Pink 😉
Oona says
Could be a new career for this lady. 🙂 She could definitely organize the *eck out of me and my stuff, LOL. I’d pay good money, LOL. But maybe not quite so much pink…
Rorie says
When I was looking for a house in Iowa, back in 2001, I was shown a purple house. everything was purple and lilac. everything was painted light purple that could be. The light switches and plates, the ropes for the windows…I mean everything. It was amazing.
Patricia Schlorke says
Was there purple shag carpet like Andrea had in Raphael’s place? 😂😂😂
Maria R. says
Ooo, that’s a good memory, thanks for that one. Of course now I’m thinking of Aunt B and how her husband showed his interest 😝
Melissa Chapman says
subtle on the outside, LOUD on the inside. lol.
All that pink would drive me crazy, but hopefully they liked it. now if it was PURPLE… 😜
NSum says
I feel wrecked that it’s for sale. Did she die? It must be so hard to leave with such an investment of passion and curated homeliness, so much personality infused into the home.
Moderator R says
Not death, dire financial circumstances unfortunately. Let’s hope the publicity helps her get a good price 🙂
wont says
This was a project. I wonder why they’re selling?
Moderator R says
Financial circumstances, there is a link with the owner’s explanation higher up in the comments 🙂
Mei says
Wow!!! So much stuff, organized in such a small space. It looks so fun. I don’t think I could live there, due to sensory overload, but so creative. I loved that they had a theater room, art room, arcade, and accessory garage. What fun in an unassuming home.
Keera says
My 17 yr old would absolutely live here. The first thing she daid when hubby said he was retiring was “I can now have pink walls and pink lights and a disco ball?” 😂
She is a Barbie girl.
Annamarie Schmidt says
the house I am living in was just like that, 4 different shades of pink carpet, pink appliances and formica, 2 different pink linoleums, and at least 9 different pinks on the walls and trims, the only issue is that it was a beautiful craftsman bungalow. they even painted the outside trim pink too
Maria R says
Thank you for sharing this creative abode.
Love the backyard furnishings. Admire the dedication in maintaining themes by colour, era and room.
I’m now pinked out but will admit that early on in ditzy young adult years I had a tiny bathroom painted pink, it was a vivid poke thine eyes out PINK 🫣
Amber says
My oldest would adore this house, she is all about pink. Less Barbie, more hello kitty, but all pink.
Valerie in CA says
I’m too old for Hello Kitty. (Hides Hello Kitty mini pack in closet). But, yeah, Hello Kitty rocks
Tempest says
While this is not my jam, it IS well done. HGTV did a Barbie House show where teams created rooms for the house — this totally blows theirs out of the water.
I’m not going to raise my eyebrows at someone living in a Barbie house since I would totally knock EVERYONE over to live in a replica of Bag End.
Dawn says
oh yeah, count me in for Bilbo’s hobbit hole! I would love to visit New Zealand and the Hobbiton set.
This house is a little overwhelming for me, but I love the entryway with the roller boots and socks mural😄😄😄
Hillary says
This house inspires me to continue making my house what I want it to be!
Anita says
+1
Anita says
I agree! Making a house a home—-requires a dedication to YOUR vision, not what others want. I wish the owner only the best, but would love to have her organizational skills in ALL areas of my own life/home/work!
Minna says
I love the exterior and the small porch!
The movie room looks fun and totally worthy off a movie night.
I envy the crafts room.
And the level of organization in the basement blew my mind!! I mean that is so next level and I really am in awe off that. Wow!
Clearly this house is owned by a artistic person. Some of it would be too much for me but: in smaller doze some amazing pink interior design ideas. Alas, if only hubby would not veto them… 🤷♀️
Valerie in CA says
Do speakers play “Little Pink Houses” by John Mellencamp 24/7?
Ami says
See I am in awe of people who have that level of dedication to their theme and their look and their art but I can’t handle that level of stimulation full time. Over stimulation is a thing and that’s why spaces where I hang out in a lot tend to become very soothing bc it helps me stay chill. But that incredibly well done. Just wow. I don’t have those balls but I admire theirs.
jewelwing says
Yeah, I’m not wired for that amount of color, but her creativity is inspiring.
JB says
+1 – recovering from a migraine and could barely scroll through the pics in the blog.
Anita says
Wow! There is a consistent aesthetic throughout the house! I LOVE the craft room. I wish I had something similar.
Lea says
Creative, but a bit disturbing… I like me some pink but that is too much for me. I am more of a simple and warm tones type person. One of my favorite houses is here https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/9821-S-Flower-Ct-Littleton-CO-80127/54890967_zpid/

So restful to the eyes and soul! I could move in as is, even though the floors are a tad darker than I like…

I’m an interior designer. Like I got a master’s in this stuff and do it every day because I loooooove it and obsess over it.
And while my brain feels overloaded at the sheer amount of stuff (adhd induced minimalism for the win), I can tell you this person worked their asses off for this space. The attention to detail, the level of cohesiveness, the sheer amount of thought and time and love that went into this home is off the charts. This is a prime example of dedication to craft. In the BDH space, each room is a full length novel, leather bound and autographed.
I am so sad they are having to sell this space because the next owner just won’t appreciate it like they did. That’s normal, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a tragedy. My guess is that this house is the epitome of comfort and joy for them. If I had to leave the home that I put that much time and love into I would be beyond devastated. ❤️
Daisy says
I LOVE this. My personal dream house wouldn’t be pink and would have more of a magical, woodsy, blue and green feel.
But oh my gosh, someone must have been so HAPPY living here!! I can only imagine that they expected to live there forever. I’m sorry for their loss, for surely it is one.
Let’s hope they at least get the solace of having it pass into hands that share their vision and appreciate it as the artwork that it is.
Toni says
This person NEEDS to live near me in the French Quarter. They would be a rock star here. I love the personality—you just know they would be a hoot to live near.
Also, while this isn’t my personal aesthetic, I think they did a bang up job creating that world—love the perfect-pitch posters they chose.
Keera says
I sent the link to my kid who as Ive stated before is a pink loving Barbie girl. She noted we are 40mins from this house. And seriously asked if we could lend her the 500K to purchase.
Its a nice neighborhood, close to Princeton Uni, Rider Uni and The College of NJ. Fingers crossed it sells fast for her. But its not going to be us (we juat bought ours 2 yrs ago). And its not far from the trains to Philly and NY.
The housing market is NJ is ridiculous right now so 500K in that neighborhood regardless of paint is a steal.
Erin says
If I were that close it, I’d definitely go to an open house to see this in person. I love how much dedication and personality the owner put into this Barbie-core house.
Valerie says
Whoa, that is a Barbie house combined with Flower Power.
Kailin says
I would snap that tulip floor lamp up in a second. It’s so cute!! Other highlights include the cinema, rainbow stairs, craft room, kitchen table, the kitty (?) cutout in the basement door, and the Fern Gully poster. Not my style, but so so cute for who lean towards it!
Erin says
I love it! I love that the owner put so much dedication into personalizing it for their own aesthetic instead of keeping it “sellable”. Most people will paint or redecorate anyway, so just go for it. I’d even keep some of these rooms the same if I bought it.
Miranda Sutton says
And… this would be my house if I turned my daughters loose lol. To each their own I guess.
Cricket says
This house is pure magic and I’m heartbroken for the owner having to sell it. <3
Raye says
The craft room! The theatre! The closet! And that garage is amazing. I’m a little baffled by the vintage McDonald’s posters in the breakfast nook, though.
Judy Schultheis says
Oooo-kay!
Cynthia E says
Wow! I cannot even imagine being that organized. I really love the details from posters to color coordination.
laura says
wow! someone REALLY loves pink.
i painted my bedroom walls my favorite color once and within a year i was sick of it, it was too much for me. but i love the basement stairs! and all that organization. and the craft room. clearly it was a labor of love. sucks that she has to sell it, and hope she gets a fair price.
Grace Sebastian says
My cottage is pink! But only on the outside. I can’t thrive in a vanilla world!💖💖💖
Tink says
It’s been viewed 7,156 times. I wonder how many of those were the BDH?
Chris V says
Hahaha! I bet the realtor is super confused by now. Only the BDH can cause chaos without trying. Maybe we’ll help find a buyer?
Siobhan says
I hope it doesn’t confuse the realtor into raising the price. No, really, we’re just looking!
Nifty says
I like to put jigsaw puzzles together on my Kindle Fire. I forget which app I use, but I could totally see these pictures used for the puzzles. They’d be fiendishly difficult to put together!
Patricia Schlorke says
The pink toilet got me. I haven’t seen one of those in a long time. I know they’re out there, but I haven’t looked for one.
I would have to wear my sunglasses in the house. Wow. 😎
So sorry to the person who has to sell it.
Lauren says
Wow. Just…….wow.
Way to pick a theme and commit to it !!
Strike says
Is it just me or EVEN THE TREES are pink!
(First picture upper left side)
Probably just some photoshop bonus bleed over … but it made me laugh.
Thanks for sharing Ilona!
I see things like this and I think to myself that the world would be a Very Boring place if we all were exactly the same.
I also appreciated that the owner was true to themself with a very definite vision.
The exterior is UNIQUE but done in a manner that isn’t offensive.
IMO with Pink that’s an almost impossible line to walk.
I’ve seen other houses in in much more “standard” colors unable to walk that line.
SueBKat says
Strike – not exactly pink, but purplish pink blossoms. On both sides of the house. One in front left, the other behind to the right.
Amy says
“Her colors are pink and pink.”
“My colors are blush and bashful, mama.”
Love this movie! Shelby would approve of the decor. 🙂
Kendra says
Wow! It’s like Lilly Pulitzer and Barbie came together in the best of ways! I can’t get over the organization of the craft room and basement.
Whitney says
I love those rainbow colored stairs!
I also love the idea that there are people out there who want this house exactly as it is. In my head I imagine a nice result where someone who loved this concept gets to buy it and maintain it all its pretty & pink glory.
Alternatively, it’d be an awesome Airbnb/vrbo 🙂
Siobhan says
My sister-in-law had a very similar house in blue/teal/aqua. She and her current partner sold it and she has started the makeover in a new place. I can’t post pictures — privacy — but it was also a work of art.
I love red. I can’t imagine living in an all-red home.
Siobhan says
Ok, my SILs house was/is a LOT smaller. Nowhere near as much work. That’s some serious dedication.
My ex-husband and I lived in a house where someone had painted each room — and sometimes each wall — a different gem tone. We bought furniture and plates along the level of the pink house dining room, just in full color (vs pastel) and greater diversity (green, blue, red, yellow).
Jason Nichols says
i live in the sunshine state and i had to put on sunglasses looking at a lot of these pics.
Marcia Sundquist says
not a fan of pink but I have to say that it was very nice, and the breaking up with other colors would was nice. But I don’t think I would live there
Caroline says
If I bought this house, I would paint the walls white or beige. And not change anything else.
I would also list everything that is considered built-in or part of the home. And tell the agent I would consider buying anything she wants to leave behind. That is negotiate price of home first then negotiate price of what she would like to leave behind (to avoid sounding like a shark by asking for add-ons while buying the house)
In my area, taking down the wallpaper and repainting would be $8,000. Is that a reasonable budget where you guys live? Replacing the wallpaper instead of painting would be $10,000?
Victoria says
There’s so much pink that everything looks almost hazy to me, like they used a pink filter so even the air is pink. I’m not a fan of pink at all, never was, even as a child, so it’s not to my taste but I can appreciate the commitment. And I applaud the fact that, other than the pink carpet that goes throughout the house, what appear to be kids’ rooms have been personalized with other colors, indicating that they are allowed to express themselves.
I do envy the mad organizational skills and the excellent movie posters.
There’s a really cool feature on that site that allows you to “redesign” the room. Doesn’t get rid of all the pink, but you can tone it down.

some of it is cute. The wallpaper was a hard no.
MDavid says
The listing in Sales and Tax history shows pictures of before current owner started on it. It was brown & wood trimed more 70’s then now.
Lynn says
I saw that! And it was only sold <2 years ago, so that complete conversion was accomplished in such a short amount of time. Truly a masterpiece.
Jo l says
love this house. they must have been limited on what was allowed outside. such a huge commitment to interior decorating to their theme. not somewhere I’d chose to live in but stunning. the games roomI’d be delighted to have if I had space for one. I think once their furniture etc moved out the base house could be fun. I’m impressed that their clothes match the theme as well in the wardrobe.
Julie says
That was my thought too – part of what makes it overwhelming is all of the stuff in it that carries the theme through. replace the furniture with some neutral solid colors and it might not be too bad, with the exception of that one corner where you have the paler orangy pink and the Pepto hot pink in the same view – that one hurts.
Padnerual says
How fun would this house be as an air b&b or a destination house for birthday parties or showers, etc, and thus generate some revenue for her. There probably is an HOA restricting that, but I’m so sad she has to sell it. It’s amazing.
reader says
I don’t hate it, but I have questions.
Frankie says
😁😁😁😁 I love it. I don’t know if I could live in it as I prefer magenta, blues and purples. I admire their commitment to a theme.
Rikki-mei says
Wow! The amount of time and effort to design and decorate…I don’t think I could live there but I would love to be the owner’s best friend and visit whenever I need a pick me up. I’m overwhelmed looking at it but I think I really love it. 😍
Jean says
We had a similar staircase in our house – my mom replaced the worn out grey carpeting on the stairs with carpet samples in many colors because they were incredibly inexpensive.
Part of owning a home is your personal decor ethos. I admire the work and soul that went into this house. (I’m pretty much “college dorm” in my decorating skills, and I’m ok with that.)
Win says
My first thought was, please find me a house! Where do you find these gems?
Nl says
It is beyond perfect. I thought the master closet was the pinnacle but then I got to the basement. I would go to that house every day for dance parties . I would make many, many strawberry smoothies in that kitchen. I would watch every Disney movie made before the turn of the century in the home theater. I think I would need to listen to Burt Bacharach on vinyl in the living room.
Julie says
Did you notice the mannequin in the closet? At least I think it was a mannequin and not a person. Even it/they had to wear sunglasses!
Sleepy says
um, wow. Kinda nice though when people can build the house of their dreams without worrying about resale value.
Kells says
Agreed
Di says
I love pink but as with anything it’s not appealing when in excess.
When I was in high school my folks decided to paint the kitchen. Mom chose a soft pink. My dad was a great joker soooo – while my mom was on the phone he said let’s start, and he proceeded to paint all the walls out of her sight with pink polka dots. We both knew she would be angry, but it was so fun! A great memory made.
Rebecca says
Love this house and every little detail about it! Gorgeous craft room and that huge basement looks fun and welcoming. I would love to meet the lady who decorated this home, I think we would be friends.
Full disclosure: I have an art studio/craft room and a doll room in my house. 🙂
Elaine says
my goodness, that is amazing. It would make a great Airbnb place? But a bit of a waste of the basement if so. Looks like a great family house.
Elia what does stuff to houses says
I’ve seen some crazy houses while handling house things, but that one is really a serious dedication to art. Wish I could Airbnb that one!
Regina says
I wish she’d consider making it an Air BnB. This house is the coolest kitchiest pinkest palace ever! I especially appreciate the ‘lovingly curated’ feeling that went into showcasing the collectable items that decorate each room. I could spend a weekend exploring every corner. Wishing her the best.
Heather says
I can’t help but look at this and think this is what Arabella wishes she had. I know from experience what it is to what you can’t have. I wanted to be a ballerina. I ended up being a software engineer. I still think about that that life path I didn’t go down.
Fiona says
I love this house! I couldn’t live in it full-time without toning it down a bit, however that doesn’t decrease my absolute love for it as it is! It’s so fun and free, and has incredible attention to detail. It might not (definitely not) be to everyone’s taste but that level of artistry, vision and commitment should be applauded. Love it! 🙂
Julie says
My eyeballs!!!!! I don’t think that I could live in it myself. My eyeballs still hurt after just 2 minutes.
Mary says
Wow! It’s not my style, I’d much prefer Roman’s house! A stone/wood, dark cottage in the woods for me :-D. I really admire the dedication though. It must have taken a lot of work and effort, money too. My heart goes out to them. I hope they land on their feet and who knows, maybe life has something even better in store for them. It must be heart wrenching to get your house to be a dream home and not only have to sell but know your effort might be destroyed. Fingers crossed that they will find someone who love it as much as they clearly do.
Norbert says

Dina could re recreate this for owner if she ever stayed at an Inn.
How wonderful and interesting. Aren’t people fascinating and unique?
Miriam says
I couldn’t live there. But even if it might be the fulfillment of my childhood dreams after one year of living there I probably would paint everything in black. Or dark grey so I could see the couch.
Barbara Wright says
Love the outside. Hate the pink interior but I do not like Barbie or pink.

I am adding to my previous comment having looked at the listing. I really want that house [without the decor]. Unfortunately I live in England!
Tralalah says
The design is remarkable. The level of detail and skill to pull this off is beyond impressive. This should be preserved as some kind of museum. I just can’t calculate how long it’s going to take to pack all that stuff up!
John Harris says
Wow, I am overwhelmed by the color magnificence of the pink house. The ice cream cone hamper is a thing of joy. You couldn’t possibly entice me to move to NJ, but again, wow.
AK says
It’s my sister’s Barbie Dreamhouse! Massive flashback to 1973…
AK says
I was looking at the kitchen. When I was five, in the 1960s, my mom and dad bought me a pink cardboard kitchen that looked exactly like that. It even had running water. I loved that thing. I agree, this needs to be an AirBnB so little girls could have birthday parties in it.
Dela says
OMG. the level of organization is astounding. I wish I had the DNA strand that would enable me to have a place for everything.
Dela says
and I really love the Psycho movie poster in the bathroom!!!
Caroline says
I was thinking about what it would take to pack up. and move. everything.
I’m a minimalist and I still find I’m packing way more boxes than I thought possible.
Perhaps she’ll hire a moving company to do it all.
Elizabeth H. says
This house is so cool!!!! I think everyone needs a Psycho poster in their bathroom! I love the little movie theater they made and the awesome placement of the bookshelves! Love it!
Deborah says
The owner is a quilter and a sewer. You can tell from the photos, especially the sewing room. I bet most or all of the linens, etc. are hand made. Wow!
Caroline says
I wonder what the backstory is? A lot of big items (flooring, carpet, cooktop) are new. What would you write if you were given an assignment to describe the homeowner(s)? I think it’s a single woman and young daughter living there. Also, aren’t we living in crazy times because the first thing I thought when I saw the price was, “Wow! that’s cheap!”
Definitely not sad beige.
Michelle says
Momma my colors are blush and bashful. Pink is my signature color.
🎶 little pink houses for you and me 🎶
Bill from NJ says
This is Kate Daniels worse nightmare or Arabella’s secret fantasy scheme.
chris says
The craft room is everything!!! The theater is fun too. I’m impressed that she just went for what made her happy and hope she finds a buyer who loves it like she does.
Marianne says
That is real dedication to an esthetic. Attention to detail is amazing!
Marcia says
It looks like a labour of love. I hope the owners aren’t heartbroken to be leaving.
Janelle says
Love the rainbow staircase!
Erika says
Am I a weirdo if I kind of love it? I wouldn’t want to own it but I would love to spend a week there on vacation. And the amazing organization! I am but jealous of that storage room full of coordinated bins.
Janice says
I want it! This house is magical…retro 60’s and 70’s, just fun wow. Kitty/puppy door to the basement, an ice cream laundry basket, the DECOR!!! So much fun.
CTL says
It would be nice to offer as a Airb&b but local ordinances/HOA might not permit it. Staying in it short term would be fun.
Heartbreaking to hear that the owner doesn’t really want to sell.
Celine says
All I can say is….wow and; there is a theater room??? In 1800 feet??? I need to rethink my space.
Vickie says
Its too pink for me but I admire the effort. He/She was all-in.
KMD says
Needs a new roof. I wonder if they make pink metal roofs? Ours is different shades of blue… I looked it up, they do make pink metal roofing.
Helene says
Wow, just WOW…
In this same type, has anyone seen the Doodle man’s house? https://www.google.com/search?q=the+doodle+house&rlz=1C1MQFJ_enCA1012CA1012&oq=the+doodle+house&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgBEAAYgAQyBwgCEAAYgAQyBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgEEAAYgAQyBwgFEAAYgAQyCAgGEAAYFhgeMggIBxAAGBYYHjIICAgQABgWGB4yCAgJEAAYFhge0gEIMjQ5MmowajeoAgiwAgE&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:81ea0bdb,vid:lhVL0pD8cqs,st:0

I love that someone took a basic Levittown New Jersey home and made it everyday special to them. ❤️
Mina says
It’s very pink. So very pink. … It‘s just that I‘m more Wednesday than Barbie. Wow. So very very pink….
Kat in NJ says
I have to be honest: I kind-of love this house!!!!! 😁 Might be worth a drive for me to go see it in person…..
Keera says
My daughter is now stalking it for an open house date. We are 40mins away 20 is we get on 295.
djr says
I think that this house is absolutely amazing! The attention to detail, the organization, the bold use of color-it all really speaks to me. I’ve been in my current home for 22 years, and it is totally opposite this one. Mine is severely lacking in color, imagination, and organization. I’m impressed and more than a little jealous. Thank you so much for sharing!
Virginia says
The pure dedication, creativity, organization, and fun embodied in this house is amazing. Is it my taste? No. But it’s beautiful and my heart goes out to the owner who has to give it up.
ReadKnitSnark says
All that pink gave me a headache!
But I did appreciate the “redesign” feature. (Which is the only way I think buyers will be able to try to see their own style/furniture in that house.) Playing with redesigning the rooms with different styles solidified that I’m mainly a Scandi/Nordic/Japanese style supporter with a dash of Eclectic. Clean lines with some color added. (And as I’m in the process of doing something about the furniture in my living room, this is good to know.)
ReadKnitSnark says
I have to say, I do admire the dedication it took to put that house together. (I know for a fact that I don’t have the stick-to-it necessary to do so. I’m more in the eh-good-enough camp. Also lazy and shiftless. And would rather spend my money on books and yarn than decorating.)
Anita says
she should not sell that house. she should rent it out on airbnb. I think she could probably have it rented out all year long. Barbie is very in right now.
Carol says
So organized! Has some great ideas but a bit too much pink for me.
Shawnna says
I love it. I couldn’t live there, but the level of detail is incredible and the owner is clearly a talented designer/crafter. I hope things work out for her!
Terry D says
This truly is a Barbie girl’s dream house. I am in awe of the commitment to detail. The Psycho poster in the bathroom is *chef’s kiss* … though O know it would give me a jump scare every time. Can they come organize my basement for me? 😊
Joy says
I must say I’m impressed with the house AND the reactions of the BDH to it. We all recognized the immense amount of labor, design talent and buying shrewdness that went into what is a work of art!
I didn’t know you could find a pink fridge, toilet, toilet brush. I particularly like the pink ice cream cone hamper in the basement!
I too am sad that this thoughtfully curated collection of art, objects and whimsey is being sold. Good luck to the owner and I wish them well. In this era of bland beige and gray staged houses for sale, this is a delight!
Elizabeth says
Even though it’s pink, the crafting room makes me a bit interested.
Becky says
That is…a LOT of pink. But, I want that cinema room!!!
Lyn says
I adore the cinema. I especially like the carpeting. The generous pink is a bit much for me, though the owner’s commitment to Pepto-Bismol tones is apparent.
Erin says
Wow. That’s.. something.
Jessica says
This looks like my 8yr old’s dream house!!!
Christine says
Well, thank you for this. I’ve shared it with basically everyone I could think of that would be remotely receptive. I live in New York – so my co-workers, and family members know where it is located. Near Princeton. And it’s apparently a good price per my co-workers. One co-worker fell in love with it and wants to be-friend the owner and loves the house and decor.
And my brother informed me that it is 1960s pop.
The Barbie by way of Hitchcock’s Psycho shower curtain is a nice touch – also an automatic jump scare.
Rexy says
I could live without the movie room, but I appreciate the maximalism.
I think this house is pretty cute! But probably a huge PITA to clean given the sheer amount of stuff.
Deb says
Bonus points for the Steel Magnolias reference. lol.
Anne says
I am so impressed. When looking at property details, you can find pictures of the house from when it was previously listed. Seeing the before and after is startling. I really admire people with the ability to envision what they want in their home and to create it.
Maura says
It wouldn’t be to my taste but I really admire the willingness to commit to a scheme and really go for it – a lot of love went into it & it shows!
Stacy says
if it wasn’t for the color…Okay fine I’m so impressed with organization I’m not even 20% organized in any room, as these photos are.
Tanja M. says
This house looks like someone took a deep look into my soul, and then went to great effort to design the perfect hell for me. Wow. Just wow.
Galina says
Yes, I am right there with you
Victoria says
Definitely a celebration of the 1960s. I think the pink house is also an art project as well as a home. I think it will appeal only to certain type of person; and as I am not a fan of pink or the sixties, and Carnaby Street fashion, I wouldn’t buy this house if you sold it to me for $1. Nevertheless, I got a kick out of the photos.
SJ says
What a treat! I hope living in that space was just the most uplifting ever!
Brandy Williams says
The dryer has pink clothes in it!
Dawn Page says
when I married my husband and moved to Florida with him 28 years ago, the house he bought had been owned by the former pastor’s wife. it was all pink inside. there were custom made curtains to match. we sold it after a year.

I’m with anybody that’s a Modesty Blaise fan! I’d love to have that poster.
jewelwing says
The house is so crowded that I missed the Fern Gully poster in the bedroom, among other things, the first time around.
Beth Leffler says
1. The organization in that basement makes my little heart go pitter patter!
2. Serious envy over the home theatre and movie memorabilia
Mary Kay says
My bathroom had been painted Pepto Bismol pink and no matter how many times we painted it I think I see a tinge of pink. Definitely no PSYCHO picture in the bathroom.
Gentry Lowe says
If only it were purple…😁Love the rainbow stairs!!!
Nebilon says
You do have to admire the commitment. I would not want to live in that house, but it is beautifully done, and a relief from the usual greige
Rebecca says
I am in Awe. Not only did the owner fit a movie theater and game room into a less than 1800 sq ft home, but got the wall paper, curtains, and bedspread to exactly match! The bathroom has wall tile matching the floor! The amount of work and effort to do that is amazing. The staircase to the basement was so cute. But I fell in love when I realized the owner color coded and organized all of the supplies in the basement. Count me in!
Kim says
I love this house!
Galina says
This is absolutely the first time I see a house and hate everything. I would not keep a single thing in it.
It sure was a lot of work, dedication and clear goal in mind though.

I would not last half an hour in this house 🙂 Just looking at the pictures made my eyes water a little 🙂
I hope it finds an owner that knows how to appreciate this level of awesome-ness properly :))))
karen gail says
I have to admire the dedication and work that went into the house; I agree with the desire to “steal” the craft room.
I find the colors overwhelming; but then I was never a pink kind of girl.
Leigh says
I’m a Pink girl with red hair and freckles, yeah like 16 Candles, pink girl, but I would need a couple of contrasting colors to break up the pink monotony.😁
Cymru Llewes says
Goodness that is some good organization. Does the person living there do YouTube videos for a living?
Marryd says
I have been sick so I missed this post. But Wow Wow Wow!!!!
I don’t even like pink but I would buy this house in a heartbeat just for the fun of having visitors over. My grandchildren would KILL to visit me!! Of course, I live in Australia and can’t afford it anyway. Absolute KUDOS to this home owner – what a great job!! I am inspired to rewatch so many old movies, too. Like Ilona, I have downsized my stash (I now live in a 15m caravan) but, oh my goodness, the temptation to go big again!!!I’m a rabid gardener and two of my sons are horticulturalists so we would be the perfect complement to this house – we could add so many pink shaded foliage plants LOL!!
As an Aussie, I’m confused by the HOA comment. I’ve heard of this before but don’t get it. I guess I’m probably too late for anyone to explain. 🙁
