Please read the whole post before rushing to change things.
Why are we doing it this way: Shopify is not a Kickstarter and it’s not quite as flexible. We’ve tried adding variants, but that just broke everything. We want you to be happy with your order. If you want to adjust your order, you doing it yourself vs us manually editing it would be a great help.
The dates:
- Preorder window will close tomorrow, 07/08. The original white border vellum packs will be available after that until 08/01. The no-border vellum will be available a little longer. If you delayed ordering, please do not panic. There are at least 3 weeks left.
- You have until 07/14 to finalize your order.
- We will start shipping 07/20. The fulfillment will take several weeks. We have… ::checks, slaps hand over twitching eye:: a lot of orders and a lot of them need personalization.
How to finalize your order:
There are 3 vellum products available:
Vellum with the white border, 40lb.
Excellent colors, very nice texture, fits into US hardcover but is a touch of a struggle to keep it in and is a little thicker. This pack includes the map and extras.
Great colors, fits into US and UK hardcover, stays well in the books, but is a little thinner and more transparent. This is the exact same artwork as above. This pack includes the map and extras.
This contains only the no-border vellum and a bookplate and is available as an addon option to your existing order at $11.99. This is for people who want both.
About the addon pack – this is just a way to give you a discount if you want both sets. If you already placed the order for the Vellum with White Border, do not buy the no-border one, unless you want the extras. You can get an addon pack at a discount instead. Do not give us extra money. (Also, this is exact same art as the white border one.)
The No-Border vellum is coming from a different printer and will show a slight variation in color from the White-Border set. Our regular printer does not stock that vellum weight.
To make your choices:
If you want the original white border pack – do nothing. You are set.
If you want to change your order to no-border vellum or if you would like to add the addon pack, follow these steps. You can only mess with your order once. After that, it will be finalized.
Navigate to the store and click the icon next to cart in the upper right corner.
Or find your order email and click VIEW MY ORDER.
It will take you to this window. You are going to ignore all options and go straight to add products. Do not click replace product or change variant. Go to ADD PRODUCTS.
To change your order to no border, add VELLUM OVERLAY NO BORDER to your cart.
To get the addon pack, add it to your cart.
Once you’ve made your choices, check out.
You might get the shipping method warning notification.
That is fine. The addon pack will be shipping with your existing order, so it has free shipping.
Once you’ve updated your order, you will get a second invoice. Here is what it might look like. I’ve changed my order to no-border vellum and put in an addon pack.
Please remember the taxes.
You are all set. Your order is now final, and we will ship it in the next few weeks.

A word about the stickers:
We’ve tried to modernize our designs a little bit, so your stickers might be slightly different. The beige border is just to show the outline of the sticker and will not be on the final product.
Mod R had this amazing idea, and we hired an artist to bring it to life. Vitalii is from Ukraine, we hired him on Fiverr, and he was awesome to work with.
We also did a die-cut version of Sushi.
And we have this one.
The stickers are a bonus, so you might get a weird variety. If there is some sticker that you absolutely cannot live without, please contact customer support, otherwise it will be a fun surprise.
Shipping outside the US: still stuck on trying to find the fulfillment center. Please do not order this stuff if you are outside of US. We will have to cancel your order.

Just note if you get stuck forever on “updating your order, please stay on this page” eventually (I waited legit like 20 minutes) if you refresh Shopify should proceed and let you pay your balance or actually finalize updating the order. 🙂

Definitely do the Live in Someone Else’s Head sticker as that not only describes Maggie but all of us in the Horde who live in the wonderful worlds of House Andrews. Saw the artwork and first thought was “I really need that on a shirt”.

Would be crying in German to, but since i am immernoch waiting on my UK Book (did the preorder but Amazon seems to be unable to send), I cannot use them in my eBook 😀 so have time until I am able to get a hardcover.
How it looks that will be when the German Hardcover Version comes out. Did Not find a another reseller that would Sell me the UK Version. Did you?

I bought the Waterstones edition directly from Waterstones and that worked perfectly with delivery to Germany. Maybe order your copy directly there?

I selected the “Vellum with no border, 29lb.” option on my existing order and since it is free, it looks like there was no need (and no ability) to “check out” and I didn’t receive a second invoice. I did check and my cart shows as “empty” and when I check my order it shows the “Vellum with no border, 29lb.” option so I believe that I am set.

Hi Bart, the same thing happened to me when using Shopify’s Shop app on my iPhone. I am 99% sure this is fine as I have had this happen before when updating orders via this app which haven’t shipped yet. I always was able to see the updates on my order in the app and never had any problems with the orders once received, so I think we are good. 😁
I think that it is fine as well (I checked and could see my updated order) but just in case, I “contacted customer support” and will report back here once it is confirmed that my order was correctly updated.

I really, really want that sticker of Sushi. I do not want the vellums. Is there any plans to add those to the store as a standalone? Or maybe a pack of stickers as a standalone, since I imagine shipping is not worth it for a single sticker.

please contact the Customer Support of the merchant store, it seems to be a very rare issue. 2 people have been affected so far.

I haven’t read all comments yet so someone may have mentioned this, but
in case anyone else uses the Shopify ‘Shop’ app (from the Apple App Store) and have it set up with payment info:
when you update an order that hasn’t shipped yet, you won’t necessarily get another invoice email from Shopify. (They may send one out after it ships?)
In any case, you can still see that the updates/changes to your order worked just by viewing that invoice in the app.

I just added the add-on to my order. Thank you for giving us that option! The site was quite slow for me, not sure why (we have a super fast internet connection and my computer is up to date with hardware and software so I don’t think it was my computer but you never know). Also, everything looked slightly differently than the directions but it wasn’t hard to figure it all out. Again, thank you so much House Andrews! We know how much work this all adds onto you. We appreciate you!
Question: If you haven’t yet purchased the vellum pack, can you add it and the add-on to your cart at the same time, or do you have to do the add-on after completing the vellum purchase by itself first, so essentially two separate checkouts? I wanted to confirm because the website says not to purchase unless you’ve already placed a vellum order. Thanks in advance!
