From Ilona Andrews, #1 New York Times bestselling author, the thrilling conclusion to her Hidden Legacy series, as Nevada and Rogan grapple with a power beyond even their imagination…
Nevada Baylor can’t decide which is more frustrating—harnessing her truthseeker abilities or dealing with Connor “Mad” Rogan and their evolving relationship. Yes, the billionaire Prime is helping her navigate the complex magical world in which she’s become a crucial player—and sometimes a pawn—but she also has to deal with his ex-fiancée, whose husband has disappeared, and whose damsel-in-distress act is wearing very, very thin.
Rogan faces his own challenges, too, as Nevada’s magical rank has made her a desirable match for other Primes. Controlling his immense powers is child’s play next to controlling his conflicting emotions. And now he and Nevada are confronted by a new threat within her own family. Can they face this together? Or is their world about to go up in smoke?

I love Nevada. She is hilarious and so well-written.
Rhoda says
I love the family Dynamics, the people in the Baylor family have flaws and problems and yet they are family and will do what needs done
Sara says
I love Nevada’s family dynamic. Some of my favorite scenes between the two books are when the whole family is in the kitchen–their banter is priceless. Every character is unique, funny, and relatable.
Amira M. says
One of my favorite things about HL is the mystery !!
Meigan says
Just one favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series?! Mad Rogan. I mean, I could probably go on for days, but Mad Rogan!
Thanks for the chance!
Audra says
I love the different talents!
Rachel says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is the different magical abilities and the way they are categorized by different types! Looking forward to Wildfire coming out!
Alexis says
I love that they’re both clear communicators! That’s so rare (both in fiction and real life).
Miranda Morris says
I love the relationship between the sisters. Very true to life!
Meghan Peacock says
I love the world building! Y’all rock at it!
Allyson Blevins says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy, well there’s actually more than one, but it’s how you can actually relate to the characters. Yes I don’t have magic, but they comment that Nevada made in Burn For Me about being upset with yourself resonates across. You do a wonderful job of connecting us to the characters.
EMEM says
I actually have several favorites, world building, family dynamics for two. But if I have to pick one, it’s the fact this is taking place in my town, Houston.
Teresa Hughes says
I like the family dynamics but I am dying to know what Arabella’s power is. Awesome series.
Kristine says
I love the family interactions…..
Harman says
I really love the characters, you truly made them your own. I love Nevada and Conner. Also the world building and plot line is different (unique) compared to other books I have read. I think you mentioned before that Wildfire will be the last book in this series, but I hope it continues! Or at least release a full book from Conner’s pov. Much love for this book series!!!:)
Harman says
Omg, can’t believe I didn’t mention Nevada’s grandmother. Absolutely adore her, so when’s the wedding guys:)
TK Vincent says
Hidden legacy’s political structure within the world building context is rich, believable and fascinating!
Cerulean says
I love your world-building, Nevada’s strong family ties (love Grandma Frieda!), and especially the relationship of snark and respect and equality between Nevada and Rogan. They both have their strengths that complement each other. They can trade times they’re “in charge” because they respect each other’s strengths while they can recognize and accept their own “weaknesses”. That’s pretty rare.
Emily says
I like the Baylor family. They are a great bunch of supporting characters; especially grandma.
Julia da Costa says
My favorite thing in Hidden Legacy, as in your other books, is the main female character.
Nevada is so strong, she is smart, she doesn’t accept bull**** from anyone!!! She’s proud of who she is, she doesn’t need other’s money, se cannot be bought! that is SO amazing.
I usually don’t like female leads because they are shallow, but Nevada is AWESOME.
and of course I can’t forget the fact that she has an awesome family!!! i love the bond between them all!
Thank you for creating an character that I actually want to read more, instead of only reading because of the loverboys! haha

and since I’m already thanking here, Thank YOU GUYS for Kate Daniels. its just my favorite series in all time <3
Alysia says
I love the family interactions and relationships. The world itself is so awesome I want more stories in it but the Baylor family just makes me want to hang at their warehouse for the entertainment factor.
Cate says
The novelty of the Hidden Legacy world and the great family dynamics woven into the story lines.
Jean-ann Stump says
It’s hard to pick just one thing that I love about the Hidden Legacy series. I have read and reread the first two books several times. If I had to pick just one thing I think it would have to be Nevada’s family. I Love the Baylors. They are the kind of family that we all want. They tease each other and argue but whenever there is a crisis they know that they can count on each other.
Jody Yordy says
This series is something my sister’s and I enjoy reading, and listening to on long car rides home.
Kaye says
I’ve enjoyed the evolution of Nevada and Rogan’s relationship.
Carolina says
The family dynamics, Grandma Frida is so awesome! I love Nevada’s and Rogan’s relationship and how much they communicate with actions as well as words.
Kaylen/Kayeri says
That Nevada’s family is just that, with all the love and conflict that includes. I also love the addition of these powers into something so very like our modern world. =)
Jen says
The thing I like the most is the incredibly well written world. It is so hard to create a new universe in fiction and have it remain consistent and believable.
Plus .. Mad Rogan!
Rosered says
My favorite thing is the history (origin) of magic in the hidden legacy world. It creates a world similar to ours with one tweak that has major repercussions.
Sandy R says
The family of strong women….oh, and Rogan
Divya S says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is Nevada’s close knit relationship with her family.
Anna L says
I love the family dynamics and the ferrets. It is always about the ferrets!
Mike says
I love the magic, the complexities of the different types and ratings plus how the houses control everything. Love it when you give the detail behind the magic!
Can’t wait for the book! ?
Eva says
I love the worldbuilding, all those different magics and ideas. Also Nevada’s family – they’re all so awesome and their relationship feels so genuine.
Ada says
Too many favorite things to pick just one. Love the series so far and can’t wait for more. My favorite thing would be hearing that there will be (a lot) more books to come after wildfire. Want more Nevada, Rogan, and the family!
lacrima says
One thing, you want me to pick just one thing? I love all of it! Okay, deep breath, hmm.
I love the way the magic works, and the history of it. The characters are another highlight.
Oh, and the ferret heist. Absolute favorite thing in White Hot. Laundry vents, hehe.
Simmi says
I love the way Nevada interacts with her family. Those scenes are my favorite. Especially the ones with Grandma. 🙂
Erin M. says
I love the corporate/family structure. I love Nevada’s family dynamic and that she has a loving support system.
Elizabeth says
Very difficult to pick one thing…I love the family, the world building, the different magic abilities (what is Arabella’s??). A really enjoyable series
Shelly says
I can’t think of just one thing. Grandma builds tanks. Mom is a sniper. Cousins are techno geeks. Sisters are rock solid support even when it costs them, Rogan and Nevada are the strong leads. What’s not to like?
Alea says
Mark one more for the family being a major attraction!
Nicole says
What is there not to love about this series?? Gorgeous alpha, check. Independent strong heroine, check. Magic, check. Love, fighting and mystery, check, check, check!!!! And you can’t forget the crazy family!!
Linda says
I´ve had Burn for Me on my Kindle waiting for me to start reading =) I just need vacation and time to read <3
Thanks for the giveaway & Happy Friday!
//Linda
MeggsH says
It’s hard to pick just one thing – I’ll list my top favs- in no particular order:
Family dynamic – it’s AWESOME. I read a ton of Urban fantasy and paranormal romance and so very often either the MC is alone or side characters are fairly one dimensional or stereotyped. Love love LOVE the family interactions.
The way Rogan and Nevada communicate. They ACTUALLY communicate. It drives me crazy in other novels when characters don’t communicate (mostly for no other reason then all their problems would be solved if they did and then where would the story be)
Nevada’s self esteem. That scene in Burn for Me when Rogan is confused about Nevada’s reaction to Harper – YES! ” power punch for women everywhere!”
I could go on on an on… love this series!!
Gillian says
I like the world-building. It’s so interesting!
Also, the Baylor’s. They’re lovely.
ShadowKat says
It’s my opinion that the story Of Swine and Roses leads into the Nevada series. I liked OSaR and have enjoyed reading the expanded version of the world. You always create very engaging characters and I love your world-building. I love all your books. 😀
Dawn says
Everything is amazing. I am always impressed with your world building. It’s so creative and well written that it feels real. I would love to win the giveaway!
Heather says
Rogan’s. Hotness and vulnerability
Georgia Wade says
Love how all the kids talk to each other, so real! And Leon is a riot!
Ooo says
I love the world building and of course the characters. What I love the most is that I can re-read the series any time and it will always put me in a good mood. Which means a lot. Thank you.
Dianne says
Read the first one. Want to read the 2nd one SO BAD, but know if I get it now I’ll break down & read it now (as opposed to having both 2 & 3 to read up in the mountains for vacation). Am counting the days…
Candy says
Love the Baylor family , especially the Grandmother ?
Sarah K says
I have to pick only one thing?! How about the writing? lol The world is immersive and interesting. I love the characters and interactions. The last pages of the books keep me immersed in the world when I lift my eyes from the page.
Apothecary says
All of the book, but if I had to choose one thing its the relationship between Nevada and Connor, how she rescues him, and understands the damage of being at war has inflicted on him, no wonder he adores her.
Heather says
My favorite thing about the series is the relationship between Nevada and Rogan. They are such entertaining characters.
Bridget Marchione says
I love the family dynamic. I really hope this isn’t the end of the series.
Nancy Gilliland says
I love everything about this series, but mostly I love the interaction between Nevada and Rogan…she doesn’t back down when she is right, Nd Rogan gives her the respect and support she deserves.
Chris says
I like the family relationships, especially the banter.
Christine says
I really like the development of Rogan’s character and how you come to find out how deeply he cares for those he’s allowed into his circle, and how much they care for him.
I also love how Nevada is a strong woman who doesn’t need to be rescued! So often, when a woman goes looking for advice from a man in her life, he thinks she needs rescuing, when in reality, she just needs a sounding board or another point of view of a situation.
Virginia Maestas says
Favorite is the family relationship in the Baylor family – everyone stands up for each other and is their support system
PyeCat says
What’s my favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series?
It’s not that it takes place in Houston. I lived there, and it’s fun to imagine the chaos, but no.
The rich world-building is way up on the list. The ways magic did and did not affect the world (and the discussion of just how much one change diverts a parallel history sneaked into ‘White Hot’ was great), how the Houses fit into society (tech allegory, maybe?), and how people with powerful abilities conceal as much as possible, are all logical and well-constructed.
The family dynamics — the contrast of Nevada’s family to the Houses — is just a notch higher.
My favorite thing is embodied in the name of the series: Hidden Legacy. Someone who was no-one is shaking up how a few key Primes see themselves and the world, and it will be a change for the better. I like that hope.
Moira says
My favorite thing about hidden legacy is the unique characters and the humor
Andrea says
Thieving ninja ferrets, I laughed until I cried.
Rena says
That was a classic moment. I would love to see this series end up as a movie, that scene would rock. But you know it has to be Disney who makes it. 😉
Jen says
I love the strong heroine and the world building. ?
Becca says
I love the fact that Nevada is a normal person even with her powers. She loves and supports her family, eccentric as they are at times.
Alison says
I absolutely love the world building and the snarky/witty dialogue among all the characters, but especially among Nevada’s family
Jessica says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy was how family oriented Nevada is – you don’t realize how many stories have no sense of family love. It makes me smile and want to annoy my brothers every time I reread it.
Sarah says
While Nevada is cool, I love Rogan! I hope we get more POVs from Gordon just cuz I can’t get enough of Mad Rogan. He is what first drew me to the series. The guy cracks me up, and I love his and Nevada’s relationship. I also love the Baylor family, and the world building in HL has been fantastic. It’s actually what led me to giving Kate Daniels a try which I also now love as well.
JMH says
The best thing about the Hidden Legacy books for me is the world building. I know this is fanasty, but the details are so rich it feels like reality.
Christine Chang says
Just one favorite?!!! I love the world and characters. I am so sad this will be the last book in the trilogy and hope to see more stories about the characters in the future
Michelle says
I also like the family dynamics. But I also enjoy discovering a new world especially since I live about 30 minutes away from Houston.
Deanna says
As always, you’ve created a memorable cast of side characters like Bug and Augustine. I can’t wait for Wildfire!
Brandi says
I love everything! The action, the family, the connection between Connor and nevada…you guys rock!
Christine says
Greeting from Germany,
can’t await the third book of your Hidden Legacy Story! Love the books especially for your character-concepts und your sense of humor. Every time I read them I can’t put them aside until I’m ready with reading them.
So..well, I can’t nominate “the” favorite thing of Hidden Legacy. I think it’s the interaction of all details, that generally make all of your books great.
Thanks for kidnapping us to the worlds of your storylines.
sharon says
I’m sorry, I can’t have just one favorite. It’s the characters, it’s the blood and gore action scenes, it’s the ‘how in the FRAK do they keep coming up with these incredible worlds? All of them. All of your series are unique and just plain outstanding.
Jenna says
I love Rogan and nevada’s relationship and watching them learn more about each other!
Amanda Geer says
There’s a lot I love about these books so I’m going with top two. The verbal exchanges between Nevada and Connor is one. The other is the entire Baylor family (including Grandma Frida)!
Kim R. says
First, I love the well written characters. I absolutely adore Nevada and her family!! The plot and all the secondary characters that I can’t wait to read about. Second, I quite enjoy the not perfect “fall in love story”. I can’t wait for Wildfire to come out!!
Edward says
Realistic human reactions and an understanding and in depth portrayal of veterans. It is rare to find literature with a character who I can relate to as a veteran. Struggling with PTSD is difficult without seeing nuanced examples in culture. Thank you for producing a work that combines epic magic with realistic romance to create a true story of human interaction in a fictional world.
Jane says
My favourite part is definitely Grandma Frieda, hands down.
Christina says
I like the way you characterize Rogan as a dragon. I associated him very strongly with Curran but less and less as he devloped into a “dragon” personality as opposed to a slightly (?) psycho lion.
Lou says
I love all the Ilona Andrews books and have read and reread them multiple times. I’m very much looking forward to Wildfire because I’ve really enjoyed the Hidden Legacy series and want to see the next step. As with every book this team has written, I immediately preorder without looking at the price. I know it will be a keeper and certainly hope the adventure continues beyond the third book. Strong female lead with creative and intriguing supporting characters. If this isn’t where to post please let me know. But I’m getting the book regardless.
Rachel says
I love the character dynamics. Everyone seems real, as though they were people you could meet on the street.
Jikie says
The sibling interactions. Being the eldest daughter (and child) is hard. After all, who else will bring home the sushi?
Otherwise, all the different House politics. 😀
Laura says
I love Nevada’s relationship with her family!
Joe says
The family, particularly the dynamics between matriarchs.
Joe
Sierra McWilliams says
I love Nevada’s strong and consistent character, and how tightly her family sticks together.
Sims says
Oh I’m so excited!! My favourite thing about the Hidden Legacy series is the magic. I love really detailed and unique magical worlds. I love wondering what new things I’ll see and the Complex rules and it’s fun to imagine what type of power I could have in that world.
Shanita says
I’m not good with picking favorites, but I like how much fun it is even while dealing with serious topics. So many great characters to love! Thank you!
Kristi D says
My favorite thing is learning more about the siblings powers! Oh, and Rogan. Obvs
Stephanie says
I LOVE how invested I am in each character. No one is a throwaway and I want to know everyone’s backstory.
Most of all, I love how Nevada is a straight up bad ass, but it isn’t shoved in your face on every page. She has morals and sticks to a code and she isn’t rude or condescending. She does what needs to be done so that at the end of the day, she can go home and look her family in the face.
Judy Baldo says
I just started reading the second book in the series. What I love about the books in that you sneak in humor every now and then. I love the fact that you develop the relationship between Nevada and Rogan. Just like the Kate Daniels’s series.
Kerry says
I love the way everything just comes together. The amount of things that are foreshadowed, and just fit together like pieces of a puzzle when they become important. I always need to reread the books to get everything!
Theresa Walenta says
I loved Connor supporting Nevadas Magical Abilities no matter the consequences for their relationship.
Stacy Smith says
I love everything about this series!
Stacy says
But especially the humor
Lorna says
I like Nevada’s loyalty and care for her family.
Monica B. says
Nevada thinking about Rogan as a dragon. I almost died laughing and of embarrassment for her, when he figured it out. Close second is grandma’s need for pics.
Danielle says
Everything about Grandma.
Malin says
My most favourite thing is probably the family dynamics of the Baylors, and the way they both frustrate and will loyally protect each other to the death. My second favourite thing is the chemistry between Nevada and Connor. Third – the secret agent ferrets.
Kathy Hart says
I love the development of the relationship based on respect and individuality, as well as the extensive world building. And Houston is my current home town!
Lisa says
My favorite part is that the behavior, dialogue delivery, and relationship dynamics are from every day life. But just placed in a different “normal”. Life is messy. People are sarcastic and give each other a hard time. But underneath all the complications are a deep love of family.
MG says
I love how Nevada’s sense of responsibility is a core character trait and influences all of her decisions and how she views the world. It’s great to see this perspective within a fantasy world!
LaShawn says
I love that Nevada and her family are very normal people, despite having to deal with extraordinary circumstances.
Jess B says
Difficult to pick one thing! I love it all – the comedy genius exchanges between Rogan and Nevada, Nevada’s hilarious family, Bug, the animals and Cornelius…everything. I am counting down the days until this book is released!
Miranda c says
I love that you really relate and bond with the characters as you read and just fall in love with them. I have woke my husband up laughing at night as I re-read both books . ?
Rachel U. says
Favorite thing? Definitely the relationships between the characters – familial, romantic, and otherwise. Nevada’s character is so tied to the relationships that she has with those around her, which makes her a believable and authentic person. This also makes the evolution of her relationship with Rogan so amazing to read.
Thanks so much for your hard work on this series! Y’all deserve every great review, and I am so looking forward to this book release! 🙂
Dana says
My favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series is the Baylor’s strong family bond.
Donna Medlin says
Interaction between the characters. I especially love Grammas comments and insights.
Rena says
My favorite thing about all of your books is your world building. The sheer detail and attention to the little things makes an incredibly rich world. I feel like I am walking through the book in their world when I read one of your stories.
Cheryl Goralnick says
I love the respect Rogans shows Nevada – he lets her be strong and an equal partner. It’s so refreshing how complementary they are.
I don’t ever read books twice and I’ve read the first two 4 times each.
Love them! Pick me please! I’m in vacation the 19th – 24th and go back to work on the 25th and will be a zombie if I have to stay up to the wee hours to try to read it when it comes out (or be a waste at work as I sneak off to the restroom over and over to get in a few pages)
Faith says
The writing – all of it. Yes this is a make believe world but the writing brings the characters alive. The dialogue and the emotions make these people and their lives very realistic and compelling.
And I like how people don’t just fall head over heals for each other and jump into bed the moment they meet. Don’t get me wrong, I read a lot of romance novels where this happens and I like them as well but with Hidden Legacy (and all of your books) characters like Nevada and Connor really get to know each other first before they are all like “I love you I cant live without you” Your writing is just so much more real than most. Nothing ever feels forced but seems like a nice natural progression.
Mel says
Favorite? I can’t pick only one thing! How about ALL the things?!
Nevada’s strength, Rogan’s determination, the intricate Baylor family interactions, the amazing fight scenes, and how well designed the powers and abilities are.
Love this series!
Becky H says
So hard to say what I like best!!! Grandma definitely and the relationship dynamics between all the characters, especially Nevada and Rogan!
Moa says
One favorite? You’re not making this easy…
I love Rogan. His character is wonderfully rich, his development is amazing. You can really feel him and how his world is changed thanks to Nevada. I can’t wait to see what happens in wildfire, every snippet so far is giving me undercurrents of angst and feelings and I absolutely love it!
Agata says
There are so many things I love in this series that I can’t write them all. I’ll just say, that you can create the best characters, which are so real, the action never let me get bored and Rogan… that’s it. Rogan tells everything. Besides the world of Hidden Legacy will never stop to amaze me. Greets from Poland, I can’t wait till 25th! 🙂
Alanna B says
The family dynamics –
Julie says
I love that I can escape to somewhere that makes me happy. Bipolar+anxiety+not working for 4 years=yucky reality. I try to stay positive and not let my current circumstances get me down, but it’s hard. Escaping to the worlds in your books where magic is real, family has your back and love wins out? It helps me make it through. Non-essential spending is basically eliminated from my budget right now but I have 2 authors that I make sure I purchase when new books are released and you are one of them (along with Anne Bishop in case you were curious). You make the world of Nevada and Rogan shine. Thanks for making my world a little bit brighter 🙂
Sonya Thornton says
I love Nevadas interaction with her family. Especially her grandmother and her mother.
Gloria says
I really appreciate that Nevada and Rogan are such strong individual people on their own,l. Watching them learn and feel their way with each other, especially since they are under such high pressure situations. The other characters in the books only add to the world that’s been created. Really enjoying the word that’s been created here and would love to see more.
Kaylee B says
Paranormal Romance is such a massive genre. You both managed to make a book that was originally and not cliched in the slightest.
The books are researched well. The characters are relatable and easy to get along with. The humor isn’t forced. The pacing is perfect.
I could go all day because it’s just a bloody good series. I love everything.
Morven says
I love the world building, the family, the characters….but most of all I love the snark! 😉
Mirren says
The dragon 😉
Marton says
I love the family banter, it is just awesome 🙂
James Jensen says
Well would have to say Grandma or Bug but more grandma. love the line hot oil and gas the grandma smell.
Melissa VanRavenswaay says
My favorite aspect of the hidden legacy series is how dedicated the Baylors are to each other.
Sally says
How do I count the ways? I love this series! I love the closeness of the Baylor family and how they have different values than other magical families. I love that Nevada works to improve her magic and use it wisely rather than taking short cuts or letting Rogan save the day. I love that the stories show the price of power and magic, sometimes terrible, sometimes isolating. That magic often makes more problems than it solves. That family and love and honor continue to be the most important things.
Ashley Smallwood says
I love the world and characters, especially Nevada and her crazy family.
Morven says
And I also love that my comments are no longer being held in moderation – well done you! Lol
Tasha A. says
Grandma the mechanic! I love her and every scene she is in. Your main characters are wonderful but its your secondary characters that make you books that much better!
Popcorn says
I love the crazy interactions between nevadas family. They are extreme but so many times I can see how a “normal” family would act the exact same way under those circumstance. Also I wish my grandma was as awesome as hers is!
Lynn says
Everything?
Connie says
I love the richness of the characters and the humor.
Eva Gholami says
I love the entire family. They are individuals with their own quirks but work together as a unit. I want to see how Leon is allowed to grow
Dina says
I Love the world building, the way the world of the Houses feels almost feudal or medieval. It shouldn’t work so well with the other elements of modern society, like the independent and strong women, who are soldiers, PIs, villains and monsters. A lot of underhanded feminism, I come to realise. Anyway, you make it work, that’s really great!
Katie says
I love the romance!
Jill says
The family dynamics are so true to life – the love and respect, but also the relentless teasing. At the end of the first book, I struggled with Rogan as a hero – like Nevada, he didn’t seem human enough. But the second book did a great job showing his vulnerabilities. Not just his strengths but his weaknesses.
Adrienne L. says
I love how the family sticks together and always steps up when the sh!t hits the fan. All of the members think about what is truly right, and what would be best for the family, instead of just themselves. Even the younger teens so this when things get crucial.
I always love your humor and attention to detail and unique world building. But in this series, the core family unit is simply awesome.
Tara says
My favourite thing about the Hidden Legacy series, (besides being written by my favourite authors) is the world building and character development.
Charlotte says
I love so many things about this series – the characters, the humor, the chemistry, and the variety of magical powers. Nevada is so true to her beliefs and strong for her family.
Mallory K says
I love everything about these books. The wiring is awesome, Nevada and Rogan after such a great story, and I have never encountered magic portrayed like this. All is super intriguing!
Also the little nerd references make me happy.
Susan Plocher says
I love the repartee b/w all the characters. I so enjoy all the Baylor family and their obvious love and respect for each other. They are such “real” people. I also love how they are teaching Rogan what family is and money/power never trumps love, faithfulness and integrity. There is humor, sadness, tragedy, redemption… All classic Ilona Andrews character/story traits
Brittany says
Hmmm. Let’s see. Grandma is hilarious. Rogan is awesome. I love how strong Nevada is. How she’s not perfect, how she doesn’t really have a defensive or offensive gift but turns it into a shield and a weapon anyway. How she owns her guilt but doesn’t constantly whine about how poor her, everything is her fault. How she doesn’t say things like she shoots like a man. How awesome of a shot she is. How she can be in shock and traumatized but if someone else needs her, she manages to do what’s necessary, even if she’s not “strong” in the doing. How she takes care of her family when she doesn’t have to. How she doesn’t make autocratic decisions for them either. She brings them into the discussion, into the choice. I love Nevada.
Heather says
Mad Rogan… enough said?
Christine Eaton says
My favorite “thing” about this series would be my favorite “thing” about any of Ilona Andrews’ books: strong lead characters, who are flawed but so compassionate and caring. Considering the romances, I love how the couples become partners: where one is weak the other is strong and vice versa.
berryblu says
I love your world building, your characters with their flaws and strengths, your exciting plots. 🙂 I guess my favorite part is the fun trip I go on when I read Hidden Legacy as well as your other stories.
By the way, thanks as always for your hard work.
Jenny Schuhwerck says
The thing I love most about Hidden Lagacy is it’s not your average paranormal romance where girl meets boy falls madly in love and becomes weak and stupid so he’ll rescue her. She kicks all the ass and occasionally allows him to help ☺
Katelin says
My favorite thing is definitely the uniqueness of the world. I love all the different powers and the twists and turns. Nevada is strong but has her flaw which makes her perfect. I would love to live in this AU. I want powers.
Reema says
I love the family dynamics. Leon, Arabella, Catalina, and Bern are so funny!
Leia says
I absolutely love the characters in this series, and I love how quickly and completely I become totally immersed in the world. It’s my absolute favorite.
Garrick P. says
The slow burn romance combined with the hope Nevada gives Rogan.
Emilee says
I love the byplay between Rohan and Nevada. I love that the romance never feels forced 🙂
Lisa Smith says
My favorite things about the Hidden Legacy series are the laugh-out-loud humor and the strength and depth of the family and romantic bonds. I have a friend who’s extricating himself from an abusive relationship, and I keep wanting to reference Rogan as a healthier example of what it SHOULD be like to be in a relationship with a more culturally and financially powerful partner. Seeeee how he wants her to make her own choices, and is aware of what she may give up by choosing him? Seeee how he’s a crazy alpha-hole, kind of, but doesn’t hold money over her head? Yeah. That’s good. This real-life guy – he’s bad.
To reference another art form, I’ve suggested using “What Would Lucille Bluth Do” as a nice guiding measure for dealing with this yucky ex. Worst case scenario, martinis and hilarity.
Marsha Sensel says
I think what I like most is the bond Nevada has with her family and that it really is a normal family with just a little bit of extra thrown in. I love the relationship between Nevada and Rogan.
Bj says
I love how future House Baylor takes the tropes of detective work and deconstructs them. The bad guys are smart, they good guys are just better. Many authors who are good at this in the finished manuscript, show rough drafts and they are a mess. It takes very good story teller props *AND* research and commitment to quality to preform quality rewrites. So far White Hot (reading for the 10th time) shows Avon made an awesome call when it allowed such strong writers the time to do the finished manuscript right.
Meghan says
Mad Rogan and Leon are my absolute favorite things about the Hidden Legacy series!
SierraH says
I love all of Hidden Legacy, but my favorite aspect is the relationships the characters have with each other. Of course, there is Nevada at the center with her family as well as with Rogan. I enjoy reading about Nevada as she navigates her PI business and balances it with the fact that her “employees” are her family members. But I also like Rogan’s relationships to other people. We were introduced to Tony in the first book and it was awesome to see him again in White Hot, even if it was under fire.
My favorite scene is when Nevada throws the chalk at Rogan after he critiques her circle work in Burn for Me. I still chuckle every time I read it. It embodies pretty much all of the relationships the characters have – they do things to help the people they care for even though it gets them nothing but lip in return.
Deva says
My favorite thing is actually the Baylor family. Nevada is great. But the rest of the family are so strong in their own right that I think they could really carry their own set of stories.
Catherine says
I love the depth of the side characters and the intricacies of the relationships between them 🙂
Pat says
I love how Rogan is willing to pursue Nevada, protecting her family, not for her, but with her. In the end I know Nevada will protect all those she loves (including Mad Rogan lol)
Fiona Tebbutt says
I just love a really good romance, this book has you routing for Nevada and Rogan getting together and I will keep reading in the hope the hope they do and they get there happy ending.
Joannn says
I love Nevada as much as I love Kate but for very different reasons. Kudos on creating series where your characters share similar mindsets, outlooks, and even morals without being simple copy/pastes into different worlds.
James Jensen says
Grandma Frida! totally favorite line has to be from Burn for me … and the Grandma smell: gas, engine oil and gunpowder.
Marne says
My favorite thing is the dialogue!
Diana V says
My favorite part of the series Nevada’s family and their interactions. I especially love her grandmother and her comments.
Joe from Cali says
I like the idea that the magic formula/potion is still out there!
Liz says
Picking my favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series is tough. I really love the system for magic, as well as all the character interactions and politicing, basically I love all of it!
Vera Sue says
The books are just awesome! Nevada, her family and Mad Rogan are such an interessting lot. They never fail to surprise me with unexpected actions, turning the plot in a new direction. Can’t wait for the next book!
Lakshmi Chaturvedi says
I loved Nevada because of her responsibility and effort to do things with honesty and professionalism. I loved Mad Rogan for being deep, ruthless when necessary and extremely confident. Their banter was terrific 🙂
JenMo says
The world building! My God! It’s immersive and believable. And cool! Yes there’s magic. No it isn’t going to fix everything and make everything better. Of course the rich and powerful hoard it.
No one builds worlds like y’all!
Tanya says
I love everything about the Hidden Legacy books! The writing is amazing. The characters are multi-dimensional. The relationships are fluid and real. The family dynamics are off the charts. The dialogue is laugh-out-loud funny. I want these people to be my best friends and spend time with them! Thanks!
Nina says
I love the world building you have done, the magic powers are realistic and limited. My favorite parts to read are all the interactions between Rogan and Nevada. He’s super alpha, but he’s squishy inside too. Nevada is a strong woman leading her family and they make a great pair. My favorite scene is when Nevada is badmouthing Primes and Rogan comments about the irony which totally goes over Nevada’s head.
I hope Wildfire isn’t the end of the series!!
Madeleine S. says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is how Nevada pictures Rogan as a dragon 🙂
adriana barrantes says
I have been an avid reader of you since Magic Strikes. I have read EVERYTHING you have published and on release day i wait until midnight to get my kindle and not sleep. This has been my pattern for years. My ex husband and I have long chats about your worlds and characters (we had a huge fight about Kates knee XD) and I started reading while we drive to work to my BF. I have to say I have my favorites on the different series…. but Nevada… she is special.
Back to when i was first starting on your worlds i read “from swine and roses” it is my FAVORITE piece from all time, i read it at least 5 times a year and always wished you wrote more from it… and then YOU DID! Can you imagine? I could barely contain myself when Burn for me came out, i have read it at least 4 times by now (please keep in mind i read a lot and have tons of series that i am onto right now for example i just finished dune -took me too long i know- and i just finished speaker for the dead), but never never would i be able to go thru a day without reading something from one of your worlds.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So yeah im rambling: your books are my favorite, you are my favorite authors from the whole world and Nevada has a very special place in my heard because if comes from a world i have dreamed of for years since you published in your page for free “from swine and roses” (cameo anybody? can you at some point mix some of that in so i can die in peace knowing what happened?)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Love you and some day ill get the money to travel to the US and thank you personally for what your books have meant on my life.

I’ve been quite apprehensive at first when I found out that the Hidden Legacy series is attached to Avon imprint considering they have a specific romance audience and preference which is why I was worried whether it would do well. In fact, I do feel it strange getting Burn For Me in Kinokuniya’s Romance section surrounded by bodice rippers rather than hanging out at the usual Science Fiction and Fantasy section with the rest of the Andrews’ series. I certainly don’t enjoy the long years in between Burn For Me and White Hot; but thankfully I found something similar to the chemistry between Nevada and Connor with Mass Effect trilogy’s Shepard and Kaidan. I find its interesting that both series helped me understand each other’s characters better. How Connor’s mind work, and how his abilities affected the people around him and make him the person he is. How Nevada despite her best intentions, she have too much principles within herself that at times it got herself into a lot of trouble and somehow I do feel like she made a better detective than Kate in all her intellectual glory. And I love all their families and laughed and love their familiarity with each other. Which is part why I love all leads especially female characters by the Andrews, they’re all distinct and unique with their own voices and characterization which is fun to empathize with and experience their lives and hardships.
I also like how there’s some remnants from Kinsmen series which I enjoyed; about having different houses with different abilities amidst fantastical elements and abilities. There’s also social and class structures within mages themselves and I like how there’s corporate elements which lend the relatable feel of realism rather than dystopian. As well as the overarching mystery and conspiracy which is intriguing by itself. Either way I can’t wait to read the next installment.
Jessica Hagendorn says
Love the fact that you don’t sugar coat the effect that war/combat can have on people. This is an issue that often times gets neglected in fiction and adds a gritty realism to the characters as well as shedding light on an oft ignored problem.
Melissa Y says
Just as many others have said, it is hard to pick just one thing to say that I like about this series. I love so much about it… Nevada’s family and the unique mix of personalities (esp. Grandma), the world building you’re so great at, as well as the evolving dynamic between Nevada and Rohan. They really challenge and complement each other, making it fun see what’s next. Can’t wait to read Wildfire. Thank you so much for the great stories you tell!!
Lynne says
Everything. I love everything about Hidden Legacy…love the characters, the story, the banter. I guess if I had to pick one stand-out thing among all the other stand-outs, I’d have to go with the dialogue.
Brianna says
My favorite thing about this series is the relationship between Nevada and Rogan! Hot, funny and honest. Doesn’t get better!
Jeanine Lesperance says
I love all of your books and am really looking forward to this one
Kelly Jacobs says
I love your stories.
The Legacy series is great because…
Nevada is smart AND fierce about protecting her family, and don’t we all wish we could tell when somebody lies to us?
Edana Gredley says
I love the family dynamics of Hidden Legacy and how they affect the characters. My own family is very clannish and it can be both fun and a real struggle to get us all working together. The phrase “herding cats” gets thrown around a lot.
Shadow miller says
I love all the series that Ilona and Gordon write! The Hidden Legacy books have a great female lead character who I can honestly just picture on the big screen with her awesome gift. Mad Rogan is just ..well hot!!! The books catch you from the first sentence and you can’t put them down. They are truly addicting. I can’t wait to read Wildfire! I’m anxiously awaiting
Kelly Bailey says
Bug’s dog. Bonus points for the dog and Rogan’s (very brief but adorable) scene in White Hot.
Edward says
The banter. It has to be the banter. Snappy and snarky at all the right times, the back and forth between the various characters is always entertaining and quite often vastly amusing. The quick replies, the pointed digs, the hidden passion, the not so hidden anger, and in general the assorted conversational gambits.
J. B. D. says
I love the worldbuilding in Hidden Legacy. The writing pulls you into the world from the very first page.
Samantha d says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is Nevada’s perspective on her life family and how that contrasts with society’s views on Primes. She’s so relatable and a great person without being holier-than-thou. Her relationships with her family are so fun.
Lynn L says
Nevada family sticks by her through thick and thin. They love and care for each other above all. Mad Rogan is fun too, crazy, but fun.
Preethi says
I LOVE the magic systems, the different kinds of magic users etc of the Hidden Legacy series -you know, the whole world-building aspect. But more than that, I absolutely love Nevada’s character. It is hard to find such sensible heroines in Urban Fantasy She is calm, collected, logical and knows when to act and when to back off. She is a mature one-of-a-kind heroine I LOVE to read about.
Another of my favourite aspects of this series is the family bond. Nevada’s family is so close and tight-knit( not counting evil grandma). That kind of family attachment and bonding, again is hard to find in books these days.
Andrea Almeida says
I haven’t read this one yet but I have read almost all of your other books. Love the Kate Danies series!!!
Katy says
My favorite things are Nevada and all of the strong personalities and well-rounded women in the books.
Melissa says
I really love the world building and how much depth the characters have. I love the humor and the relationships. I really love the series!!!!! You guys are the best ☺️
Stacy says
I love the world building in this, and the multifaceted and emotional connection most of the characters have. I also like that decisions (or lack thereof) can have profound consequences. I like that the characters are centered and confident in what they are, but can still learn, grow or change their minds. The feeling of being epic and yet personal, with all of the emotions – happy, sad, humor, anger… My favorite scene so far is the ferret break in, though. I really like the humor in your books.
Alexandra says
The part I love most in Hidden Legacy is the bond Nevada has with her family. Despite her wanting to keep everyone safe, her own family protects her too. I also love the magic system and Rogan!
Thank you for the giveaway!
Nancy anderson says
I love how absorbed I become with all of the characters. I want to follow the future stories of the siblings and see them get their HEAs and I want more ninja stealth ferrets and or other animals. 🙂
Alexandra says
I love how Nevada is strong and fierce, but not in the physical, punch you in the face kind of way like Kate Daniels. Nevada is significantly different, but just as strong in her own way. Plus, since I grew up in Houston, it is fun to see the references to places that I know. (Which is a bonus since I now live in Atlanta)
I also really like the family bond and the love that they show for each other.
Drew says
I love the contrast between the family relationships that Nevada has with the lack of family Rogan has. I think Rogan sees Nevada’s family and yearns to be a part of that love and care for one another.
Lisa says
The absolute LEGEND that is grandma Frida! Maaaan do I want that woman as my own relative. Hilarious and the woman builds freakin’ tanks. Burglars beware! Oh and Rogan of course, because he’s just too hawt. (Fans self).
Victoria (aka zEmfIrKa) says
The banter between Rogan and Nevada is just excellent (tbh, I really love the whole concept of the series, the world and characters are as always excellent). Thanks for the giveaway! I’m waiting to read White Hot (it’s been on my Kindle since publication date) until Wildfire comes out.
Sara S says
It’s hard to choose one thing as my favorite but one thing that stands out to me is rogan’s POV of the kidnapping scene. It was so fun to flip between the POVs and see what he was thinking vs what she got from his actions
Kathryn Jones says
There are so many things I love about these books. I love the family dynamic in these books. Nevada’s relationship with her family is amazing and I want to be part of it! Even her grandmother is kick as! This book is all about women power, although there are strong male characters, the women can easily take care of themselves.
Taryn Sikes says
I love the Hidden Legacy novels!! There are so many things about this series that I love, but the one that sticks out most is the character play. I love how Connor pushes all of Nevada’s buttons and that Nevada doesn’t take anyone’s, including Connor’s, BS.
Heather says
For me it is always about the dialog. If you don’t have snark, sass, humor, and strong leads; where would be the fun!
Lily's Notebook says
I haven’t read the Hidden Legacy yet but the book is on the top of my July TBR. The sequel will follow !
Thank you for the giveaway !!!
Iben Dhiin says
Rogan. Short and (not so) simple.
Byron Matthews says
The books are perfect . You care about all of the characters. The banter between Nevada and Rogan is spot on. Her fierce love of her family shines thru the books. The supporting characters are great and could have their own books. Everyone should read this series.
Jennifer says
I love the world building in Burn for Me. I also like how cohesive the story is and the pacing.
Renee Curtis says
I love this series. I wish it was going on longer than 3 books! I love the magic and the bond that the family has. I just love everything about this series. 🙂 Love all your books!
Viki says
I absolutley love Nevada personality. She is so smart and fierce.
Susan says
I love the books, but if I have to choose just one thing, I’d say Nevada’s family and her relationships with them. Especially Grandma and her tanks. 😀
SJK says
Hidden Legacy* got me though law school!
*The books are AWESOME but you guys kinda made waiting for the books fun too. Especially in this last semester, the updates, snippets, cover bashing, comments section, etc, were such nice getaways.
Amanda Larocque says
The interaction between rogan and other houses. Though Cornelius and his animals are a close second
Ailsa Richardson says
My favourite thing has to be Rogan and Nevada scenes, I have only read the first one as I plan to binge read when Wildfire is released but I love the way they are with each other. I love the fact they are both strong people who really don’t want to deal with romance and I can’t wait to see how things progress 🙂 x
Sarah says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is the world building. I’m an anthropologist, and I love watching how one element is added (magic) and it shifts and changes the structure of society. Not unlike Leon’s homework assignment in book 2! I find learning how the society works, the hierarchies, the different types of magic and their reputation, even things like having your magical rating on LinkedIn completely fascinating. It hits me in all my anthropologist squishy bits!
Joanne Kim says
I loooooove the magic houses. The Kinsman series is one of my favorite things because of the Houses they have so this fits right into the style I love!!!!! And to me, this world seems more on the technological side than the magic than the Kate Daniel series and more in a real world situation. More real world as in less mythological creatures, vampires and shapeshifters and more like something that can happen in the future! 🙂
Julie says
I love love love this series. The writing is out of this world…… the characters are so real and the way they all interact with each other rocks!
Justine says
I like that Nevada is strong and independent while still being likable.
miki says
it took me sometmes to get the first book so i’m only starting but i LOVE the universe and touch of humour that makes it your style
thank you for this great giveaway
Christina says
My favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series is the humor throughout, even in darker moments, and the strength Nevada draws from her entire family. Are they targets for her enemies? Maybe, but they’ll do anything for Nevada and most of all, each one is absolutely competent and even deadly. No ‘oh, Nevada’s poor helpless family is her Achilles heel’, no ma’am. They stand with her and beside her, and are the strength behind her and all that she does.
Sure, that and the burning chemistry between Nevada and Rogan ?
Zsofia says
The whole worldbuilding, how the magical system and the hierach is structured its so creative. And Rogan, defintly him too.
Ellie101 says
My favorite parts of the Hidden Legacy series are the relationships. First off, the slow burn, combatative to reluctant attraction romance. It’s delightful and Mad Rogan is a compelling frightning character and I love it.
Nevada’s relationship with her family and her family itself is delightful and I love getting to know her siblings and cousins more as the series goes on.
Lastly is Nevada’s relationship with her magic. She’s growing and learning and beginning to understand that she has to carve her way in a world where magical might is right and she’s losing a part of herself just to survive. Watching her grow is so awesome. Watching her grow with Rogan at her back and her colorful cast of family and friends watching the two of them setting off Sparks? It’s THE BEST!!!!
Thanks so much for the opportunity! I’d probably expire from happiness if I won, lol. ?
Sara says
It’s difficult to choose a favourite moment, so ill give you the one that I love, it’s when Adam Pierce says that he would like to do nasty things to Nevada only to correct himself and say “with you” and Nevada thinks “nice catch”. So many “romances” confuse passion with ownership and dominance, this was the moment I again knew I was in the right place, to have my romance and still feel like a respected female. My deepest congratulations on the great reviews and the hype, I can only say: you guys deserve them and more.
Charliann says
I love the relationships; both family and romantic. As always, you have created people I can relate to and who are real. Not some unattainable ideal.
Karren says
Nevada. She kicks ass and never gives up. Her loyalty to and care for her family. She takes chances. Keeps growing/learning.
Ariana Brosha says
I love the depth of the characters in all your books but for the Hidden Legacy series I really enjoy how magic has been introduced as it’s own form of science combined with skill and natural talent. 🙂
HaichM says
It’s hard to pick just one thing so hopefully I won’t get penalise for naming a couple of favourite things.
I really like Nevada’s determination and struggle to do what’s right for her family and her principles and I look forward to seeing how that works as an official Prime.
I love the worldbuilding with all its politics and the different kinds of magic – it’s different to a lot of things I’ve read (as pretty much all your stuff is).
I love Nevada’s family – their personalities and their bonds. They leap of the page as much as Nevada and help you to understand and love her character.
As always, the humour and emotional impact of your writing is spot on and keeps me coming back for more…once I actually manage to put it down.
Jessica says
I absolutely love this series. The magic system is so well developed and fascinating. It’s different from most other fantasies I’ve read and I love it.
For me, the real selling point is the characters and their development. I love that Nevada is not just some damsel in distress, but a strong character in her own right that can be an equal to Connor. In my opinion there aren’t enough romances with strong female leads, thank you so much for writing this series and these characters. I’ve been looking forward to reading the rest of this series since the first book and am so happy that the last two books are finally being released!!
NiraCatalina says
First of all: thank you for this giveaway. You’re awesome!
My favourite thing about Hidden Legacy is the strong female lead surrounded by more strong female characters. Nevada is not afraid to tackle difficult situations on her own, but also never afraid to admit when she needs help. And I don’t only mean ‘physical’ help, but also emotional one. I know from personal experience how hard it can be to emotionally unload and just admit to being weak or unsure about something. I also kinda love her stubborn streak as I can relate so that as well. 😉 In the background is Nevada’s family as her backbone as well as her weakness. Another thing I find very realistic. Nevada together with her awesome family (I loooove her grandmother, mother and sisters as well as her cousins) is the heart and soul of these books.
(And of course I would never forget Connor ‘Mad’ Rogan. Which woman could ever forget the dragon? 😀 )
Sara says
I love Nevada family and the atmosphere; the camaradice they create.
Rachel K. says
I really enjoy the pacing of the story telling. It grabs my attention and leaves me wanting to dive right in to the next book. For me it has all the things I love, relatable characters, an interesting world, and a balance between drama and humor that is just delicious.
Heather Luce says
I love the world building, kickass action, and family is forever attitude. Keep them coming. Must have more thank 3 books in the series please. Plenty more characters to cover.
Rahel says
I really like the Baylor family as they seem to always stand behind their decisions once they are made. The other thing I love about this series is that Nevada is not afraid to do whatever it takes to protect not her family and the business but still has her bounderies which she is not willing to cross if it isn’t truly necessary. I love that Nevada does not depend on Rogan but he still come along to save her.
zozobraswife says
The thing that I love the most about the Hidden Legacy books is the magic infused alternate history that Ilona Andrews has created for this world. I also love the humor, the snarky dialogue between the male and female characters, the fact that Nevada seems to be a fully developed believable character (and not an idiot like so many female protagonists in urban fantasy these days), and the fact that Rogan’s history damaged him and that the damage makes him more real but also more deadly. The depth of the research that this writing team puts into all the details just appeals to me. You can never guess which odd pantheon or obscure folklore will appear in a book. I like using Google earth to visualize the places in the books. I could continue to gush all day. I have a Wildfire widget on my desktop counting the days until July 25, 2017! Umm, I am completed obsessed with these books and I want to read it now. Please?
Ray says
What I like best is the books always surprise me. Never quite sure what is going to happen next.
Ruby Cardenas says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is the relationship between Nevada and Rogan. From day one there was this chemistry between them. Love this story!!!
Janine Orlando says
Love the possibilities that your world building provide. The “what if….” conversations the different magics initiate in my mind. But even more, I adore Rogan – he’s such a complex character. He invokes altogether different “what if..” scenarios!
Charis says
I love the world building and the relationships (family, friends, and romantic), but my FAVORITE part is the character development. I’m not exactly the same person I was even a year ago, and the fact that your characters, both primary and secondary, also experience growth and change is what has me reading your books over and over again.
Rebecca says
I love the humor! Bad things happen but you are laughing a page later. I also love Nevada. She is awesome.
Amy says
The world building! It’s so easy to imagine myself in the story. Not to mention dialogue, both internal and external that never fails to crack me up and make me look like a laughing maniac in public.
Kat G says
Thank you for doing this giveaway!!! Hope I win!!
My favorite things about Hidden Legacy are the world building, history, and powers. I really can’t wait until more about Catalina and Arabella’s powers are revealed.
Kaprycia says
I love the whole story but I have to admit that I love how Nevada see Rogan as a Dragon all the time. I keep imagining Nevada caught in the grasp a a Chinese red dragon… Okay, Rogan is not Chinese but their dragons are awesome!
Suzanne says
I love the family dynamics!
Fabiola Perez Cruz says
I kove anything by Illona Andrews ..so thanks
Stacey says
I love the different types of magic. They are so varied & interesting.
Akeru says
I love Nevada’ family. I love how they are truly a family. I love how Connor has tried to build a family of his own and has mostly succeeded with his army of personnel that work so hard to keep Major happy. I love the whole story.
Charlotte P says
I really enjoy the development of Rogan’s and Nevada’s relationship.
I enjoy the world you’ve created–if magic existed in modern society, I’m sure the same kind of power struggles would exist in society as they do in your books. Nevada’s criticisms of prime society as a group of ruthless and out for themselves power-mongers is a reflection of the way the wealthy stomp on those they deem lesser than themselves just to get ahead every day.
I love that Nevada’s love for her family is the most important thing in her life; everything else is secondary.
ingrid says
I love how you create a world that is familiar but different in a way that lets your characters shine. I love how down to earth Nevada is and her priorities always begin and end with her family. Always unique and entertaining.
Naomi J says
I love the character development, and the dialog, and the fact that I can still reread them and enjoy the books. I love these books 🙂 I love the magic and how it’s different for everyone.
Lizzy says
There are so many things I love about the series. The world building is unique and fresh with how the power of magic is structured. The interactions between all of the characters is entertaining, and I love how the romance between Nevada and Rogan is progressing.
Roxann says
What I like best about Hidden Legacy is the relationships and how you show that all relationships, whether family or romantic, require some work and give and take and understanding of the other persons personality. A lot of books do not show that. The humor is probably the second thing I like the best. Of course the books are terrific, it is hard to say what I like the best, but the above two are probably just a little bit above everything else.
Davinia says
I love the worldbuilding! The concept of how magic came into this world and changed it. I also love that there are so many side characters and that every one of them is important in the story. The humor is also a very big part of what I like about the series and the build up of the romance angle.
Melissa says
I love the dialogue and the interactions with Nevada’s family.
Jessica Reis says
I haven’t read the Hidden Legacy series. I have read other of your books. And I have others on my ‘to-read’ list so I can check them out this summer. 🙂 Hidden Legacy series is on that list.
Tink says
I kind of envy you in that regard. You can binge read them all at once. Of course, then you’ll be wanting more, but those of us who’ve read the series since the initial release have been wanting more since the first book came out, so now you’ll become one of the Book Devouring Horde.
Jessica Reis says
Yeah! That’s true. I waited 2 years for the last book of a Portuguese author, and she published it this year, with an extra book. Apparently she was planning for that series to have 3 books. Now we all have to wait again until she starts writing something new again.
I’m actually excited for this series, it’s one of the series on the top of my list, but since I’ve been writing non-stop since I finish classes, I haven’t started yet. I have to go buy the books and start doing so reading.
Tink says
Holy crap! How long has this post been up? It’s already up to nearly 300 comments! Stupid work getting in the way of everything.
I love the family interactions in this series. The Kate series is how a family that you build interacts with each other, but Hidden Legacy shows how the family you were born into can be so damn annoying, not give you respect or fear you, and yet totally have your back when someone comes at you. Nevada’s family is weird but loving and I can’t wait to see how Connor reacts to them as Nevada brings him into the family.
Linds says
I love everything about the series. The characters are realistic and grow as the series progress – learning to adapt to whatever is challenging them. The world-building draws you in and makes you think that this society could actually exist somewhere (and makes me wish I could live there). The laugh-out-loud banter between characters makes it a delight to read!
Mara says
Rogan The Dragon
Reeskydo says
I love the world-building in this series.
Meganann says
My favorite parts are the Baylor family dynamics and the awesome romance between Rogan and Nevada. I love the kinsman universe and I am so glad this trilogy shares elements/exists in some way in that universe.
Zoe says
I love Nevada’s family. I love how they look out, look after and love each other ❤
Liz S. says
I love Nevada’s family! They’re so close-knit and hilarious, but also loving and protective. They always have each other’s back. And, of course, another fave aspect of this series is Nevada and Rogan’s insanely hot chemistry! And the cool magic system and world-building! Okay, so I pretty much love everything about the Hidden Legacy series and can’t choose just one thing.
Thank you for hosting the giveaway!
Lynda says
Nevada is the best, and Rogan never tries to make her be less than she is. I love that.
Kaila says
The family dynamic is my favorite part of the series. I love how each member of the Baylor family is a little weird or crazy but they all have a place in the family and they work so well together when under siege.
Artem says
I love that nobody tried to rehabilitate Adam Pierce. Also Inlove that Nevada has a big pro-active family (I am genuinely getting tired of orphans with misterious past Kate excluded)

Dear Authorlords,
I love your characters. They all have so much heart and are very relatable. They are funny, witty, they brave all storms and yet they also deal with mortgages and family death and it leaves them scarred – as it should be. Nevadas dads treatment left them all with emotional baggage. But not just so we have a quick pity story, but rather it makes the characters grow because of it. Even if they still need time with grandma Frida, if they feel down. They are just so well rounded and while I don’t live in a paranormal world, they still are very relatable and no princesses and dragon slayers who have more heroic deeds in their cv, than possible emotions.
On the other hand, I can’t guess how your story will continue. I have a general idea, but you usually surprise me with story twists or new characters. And I love how unpredictable it is.
This could go on and on and on about your world-building, Nevadas horrible attempts on circle work, your excellent humour, the many pets, the humanity you show us in possibly crazy people and evil grandmas and on and on and on… so i will just continue to read your work with awe and hope that you will have the opportunity to tell us many more stories!
Amy R says
I love Connor and Nevada of course but Nevada’s family and some of the other secondary characters complete the story/world for me.
Caterina Trench Vidale says
My favourite part of the series has to be Nevada’s family :’) <3
Jessica says
The witty banter between all the characters is an absolute delight and makes these books fabulous re-reads.
Peggie says
I love Grandma!
Karen Kronenberg says
I love the mutual respect between Nevada and Rogan.
TrishMN says
My favorite thins about this series…The suspense! Trying to guess the plot twists. I work on an ambulance, in our down time my partner and I listen to audio books or I read stories out loud. By far our favorite stories are written by You Two . Love them all!!
Tricia says
I LOVE immersing myself in a story with a strong female lead! Nevada is smart, powerful, and determined. I love her family dynamic too! It really pulls me in to the story. Plus, Rogan is all manly and brooding and protective and HOT. 🙂 I’m so excited to see how the story unfolds in Wildfire with the creation of their House!
Zot says
I know this is marketed as romance, but my favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is Nevada’s family. They aren’t in every scene, and sometimes the younger ones can be annoying, but they are ultimately there for each other and their shenanigans are always fun. It also doesn’t hurt that they all have different kinds of magic. 😛
Parv dadolahi says
I love the action, the dialogue and the chemistry between all the characters. There doesn’t feel like a single background character everyone has a personality and a back story. I love grandma Frida, I can see her and Linus hooking up…. The series feels like a prequel to the kinsmen series. P.s. It’s my birthday on Thursday….just saying!
Kristen Chapman says
I love the depiction of Nevada and her family, and how they embrace everyone’s individual quirks!
Iona van Dijk says
Intricate well rounded characters that vividly interact and really pull me into the world and story.
Aaron Rataczak says
I haven’t read but want to win for my wife since she absolutely loves these books.
barbara says
Just one thing? I guess it would be the fact that it keeps me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last, and beyond.
D says
I love that Caesar is still shrouded in mystery. I also like Location 5371 in the Kindle version. 🙂
Ms. Kim says
I like the vignettes and insights into the side characters. It reminds of “Casablanca.”
Izzy says
One of my favorite characters has to be grandma Frida – who wouldn’t love to have a grandma who can fix tanks? And of course the chemistry between Nevada and Rogan – yowza! The world-building in all of your books are always world-class, and bring up the interesting concept of might equals right. Thanks for the hours of happy reading you give to all of us.
Brittany Skirm says
The slow burn romance! And the snarky comments between characters.
Megan says
My favorite part of Hidden Legacy (and Innkeeper and Kate) is the community building. Nevada is surrounded by a loving family and each member supports her and benefits from her support in return. They are all fully – realized characters, not blanks designed to drive a plot point. In addition to the blood ties, there are also those that she has adopted into her community, like Cornelius. It makes her a much more complex, interesting and relatable hero as well as fleshing out her world to the point where you want to become part of it yourself.
Shawn S says
There is a lot I love about the series. The world design is, again, wonderfully intriguing. There continues to be more and more we learn about the characters each book (what exactly IS Leon’s ability, and how will the two sisters’ powers come out to the public). The research that goes into little details (Chicago fire), and yet is different than other series by you (unlike Kate, no Russian influence). The action scenes, the strong characters, even the interesting supporting characters. LOVE IT and want more than 3 books in this world.
Anne McMullen says
I love the world building. particularly the magic system. It’s like a sideways step from the current world.
Melanie Stamp says
Wow!
I love this series! I can’t wait to read the next one. I suppose my favourite thing in the novels is Nevada and her sass- I love that none of Ilona/ Andrew’s female characters are just flimsy females- their strength of will, determination and badassery ( yep I lay claim to that neologism!) keep me hooked and Nevada is no exception. Nevada isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty- work hard and ask difficult questions of “colourful” people.
Love it!
Anainasia says
Grandma Frida is the best ? but the story as a whole has me in its grip just finished the 3rd re-read.
Lillian says
The whole series is just awesome! The character development is great and you can see it through the books that it’s almost all the characters and not just the main two.
SandyL says
I love both of these books and can’t wait for the next. However, my great-grandmother was named Nevada. Not pronounced like the state but with a long a–Nev-ada. She lived in Oklahoma, I believe, but could possibly have lived in Texas. This is the first time I’ve seen this name used. And I am curious. Is her name pronounced like the state?
Mireille says
I love this series so much. I love Rogan. He had so many layers to him. I love the way he’s always looking out for Nevada and wants the best for her even if it’s not what she wants. I can’t wait to find out more about him and what makes him tick, and what happens next in their relationship.
Chanel says
I haven’t read Hidden Legacy yet even though I have the first two cause the reviews are so good I want to be able to read all 3 straight through without worrying about waiting for another book to come out. ?
Frances Hadfield says
The little character mysteries being slowly solved are my favorite thing. For example, the Evil Grandmother – (who is she?) was one of the twists I was waiting for throughout most of White Hot. Now I’m waiting to find out more about Leon and Arabella’s magic; how Penelope hurt her knee in the Army (and how she lost her PI license). I’m also hoping to learn more about Bern and Leon’s mother and fathers in Wildfire. It’s the little details and mysteries that make a book delicious.
Missy_G says
What don’t I love about this series, the world building, the characters, the snark, the relationships!! I cannot wait for Wildfire!
Ileana says
I love her family dynamic and Rogan’s respect for her family and the way they all have each other’s backs. Such a lovely series.
Lauren says
I love both the family dynamics, and the strength of character Nevada has…
Love all your work, actually!
Tahina says
My favorite thing about the series is the dynamic and interaction of the Baylor family. I love the banter and that they have each others back like that <3
Nicole in WI says
I love Nevada’s family. The interactions and loyalty they have is amazing. Also the world building in this series is awesome and I really hope this isn’t the end of this universe.
Rena Morris says
I’ve only read the first book, but the sexual tension between Nevada and Roland is hot! And Nevada’s grandmother cracks me up!
Amy Ellis says
I love Nevada’s family and their kept quiet power 🙂
Katie Pothier says
I just love having another Ilona Andrews world to discover
Candice says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is Nevada’s family. They are crazy, hilarious and all badasses in their right.
I really love pretty much everything about this series, though.
Elizabeth says
My favorite thing about The Hidden Legacy series is Nevada’s way of talking about her teenage relatives. “His evil teenage heart” may be one of the best phrases ever written.
Lynn Long says
I haven’t started Hidden Legacy … yet. Burn For Me is the next one in my to-read pile. I have been saving reading it until closer to when book 3 (Wildfire) was to be released because once I start a series, I hate to wait!!! (Like I’m having to wait on Magic #10! I love reading about Kate & Curran!)
Jessica says
Dang…. trying to pick my favorite part of the series is hard…. if I had to pick though it would just be Rogan. Period. The End. Just everything about his character and the way we are learning more about him…. the Author Lords always nail the dialogue between a man and woman in a way that’s always believable (in some circumstances I can imagine my husband and I having similar conversations) . Ugh, the writing in general is just spectacular.
Andrea says
I’ve only read the first book in this series so far but have enjoyed it. The dynamic between Nevada and Rogan has been entertaining.
kariell says
I love to see Rogan’s vulnerability. He is a very powerful person, but he still seems to find it hard to believe that Nevada won’t put the world of magic above him on the totem pole.
Ouanza says
Not just read it, but just reread the first 2 in anticipation of WH… What’s not to like? A complex world with magic and powerful families, amazing well developed characters, great story telling with some romance thrown in to boot. I love love love every single thing you guys have written. Always on my recommendation list!
Lee says
So much to love about the whole series! I am an SFF & mystery reader from way back, and added romance to the mix when I grew up. I read for story, and relationships (romantic, platonic, and familial) add depth to story. The dialog is fun, the humor is contagious, and the characters are people I would like to have in my corner when trouble strikes. Plus, one of the other things I like about all things Andrews is your attention to detail when worldbuilding, and the subtle way you convey the information we need to appreciate what’s happening.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway!
Laurie Hrynuik says
Ilona Andrews is my son’s go to whenever he needs to get me a gift! Love the books!
Heather says
I absolutely love mad Rohan and the fact that Nevada compares him to a dragon .. I love everything about this series.
LJR says
The worldbuilding. I just love reading about magic (yes, I love Harry Potter books!) Though if I do live in the Hidden Legacy’s world I’d probably turned out to be a magical dud ?
Janelle Wight says
I’m not sure if I can pick one favorite thing, but one of the things that has stuck with me the most when I think about Hidden Legacy and this trilogy is the amazing world building. Love it!
Ken Lederer says
I haven’t read the books but my girlfriend enjoys the series more then anything!
Morgan says
These books were so good that I read through them and then immediately turned around and read them again. That’s my favorite thing about them!
Jay says
The bonds Nevada has with her family.
Danielle Hillendahl says
I love the world building in this series (and all of your others, to be honest!) You create rich characters with humor and depth, and then place them in a world that is three dimensional on it’s own. I’m always do impressed by how you manage to bring an alternate history to life without adding hundreds of pages of back story. You guys are incredible.
Also, I love that your characters don’t just fling themselves at every potential love interest. They make logical choices based on actions, not just looks.
Rebekah says
My favorite thing about the hidden legacy series is the family dynamic! I love how all of the characters interact with each other on a day to day basis.
JoAnne Kowalski says
I really like all the characters but mainly how stubborn Nevada is about her principles.
Sherri says
What i like is the world-building. While in some ways everything revolves around magic, in many others it is completely ordinary with ordinary lives and concerns. It makes it easy to fall into that world. And want to stay there.
Jordin says
I like how I always have to do a double take when I see the cover of White Hot to make sure the guy in the cover is actually wearing pants.
Erin Miller says
The interactions between Nevada and Rogan make my heart feel all squishy and happy. I also adore the world building and magic system. I can’t wait to read Wildfire!
Erin says
I love the family aspect. Rogan doesn’t know what to do with Nevada’s family even *before* their magic talents become evident.
Lissa says
My favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series would have to be the way that all of the relationships develop – both within Nevada’s family and between her and Rogan. I’m really looking forward to seeing how things progress in the next book, as well 🙂
jo says
I love Nevada’s family the dialogue of their interactions always makes me smile 😉
Lindsey says
My favorite thing is Nevada’s relationship with her family. I love most everything about Hidden Legacy but that is what stays with me. Thanks so much for all your books. I really enjoy them.
Jamie says
He cooks!
Jenny says
My favorite part has been the family dynamics. The dialogue is so vivid, entertaining and real. Love the series so far.
Kelly Persons says
I love Nevada’s family and her commitment to them. Each member is this quirky ball of fun I just can’t get enough of!
Nichole V. says
I loved learning about Rogan’s back story. Why he is the way he is and what makes his people so loyal to him. He was an interesting character in the first book and the chemistry between Him and Nevada was off the charts awesome, but this book made me really appreciate his motivations. I also loved the tease about the sister’s talents as well as learning more about the society that Nevada is shortly going to have to learn to function in. In my experience when a first book is great a lot of the time the second can be s bit of s letdown, this is definitely not the case with really any of Ilona Andrews series they are all a captivating read from word one of any of her books.
Bridget Allen-O'Neil says
I love the magic system!! I have always thought mental magic got short shrift in fantasy series (especially mental magic other than hearing thoughts and illusion magic) even though it would be super useful in any modern society. So, as impressive as Rogan is, I absolutely ADORE Nevada (and her sisters!) and BUG! Also the shockers are super cool!
I also think that the authors (consistently but also in this series) do a really great job integrating magic into society, and considering the implications of that, which is why Rafael has a salvage business in the middle of a city and the houses negotiate with the US government. It’s great and is part of why I come back so consistently to these worlds.
Patience Boudreaux says
I love the humor throughout (“Just so we’re all on the same page, everyone sees the panthers?”). I came to read you guys via the Kate Daniels books and the world that Hidden Legacy takes place in is becoming as beloved to me as Atlanta. I truly care about these characters – thank you for sharing your storytelling with us!
Jennifer says
I love the way the know each other, the way Nevada knows what his looks mean and the way he knows her. Like he knew she was a Prime and sent her those books because he knew how much they’d help her and how he waited for her outside of Augustine’s building after she spelled his mind. The way he loves her…. Her family is hilarious! So real!
Eraani Perez says
It’s very hard to choose just one aspect of the Hidden Legacy series that I like. I mean there’s compelling characters, fantastic world building, steamy romance, mystery and the crazy fun family dynamics. But if I have to choose then what I enjoy the most is the great balance of humor naturally woven in throughout. Always gotta enjoy a book that makes you grin, laugh out loud and sputter in disbelief. XD
Lynn Reilly says
I love that Nevada is such a strong character, and that she is coming into her own power! I actually love all your characters, I love how they all have very well thought out backgrounds.
Kazshero says
I love it all!!! But I like how similar Nevada is to Kate but how she is completely different too. Her responses are not predictable.
Sriyukta says
favorite thing about Hidden Legacy: family dynamic bug’s collection of cuss words and Leon’s sense of humor.
Ronda Grogan says
I love the threads of family that play through the books, both with Nevada’s actual family, and with the family that Rogan has created for himself with those he’s rescued. And I love that while Rogan is busy rescuing others, it feels like Nevada is working on rescuing him (whether either of them realize it or not)!
Angela Jackson-Selle says
I enjoy the family relationships, and that neither of the romantic leads knows it all–they take turns being wrong.
Integgy says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is the realistic family aspect. Or rather, how Nevada is surrounded by a family who loves and supports her, even though their relationships aren’t sunshine and roses.
Jasmin York says
These books are so great XD. I love the world building you do in all your books, hidden legacy not excepted. I also love how in this series you make family characters and their interactions. It’s believable, and makes the whole clan interesting rather than just the main characters. I want to know more about the magic in general, and what the other family members can do.
Alex says
The world building set through family: everyone brings something important to the table and while some folks have more flashy powers, it’s really the loyalty, wisdom/love for justice, and heart that defines the heroes. Anyone can be a game changer in a scene or solving a mystery. These stories encourage me!
J says
I love the dialog and how Nevada’s family interact with each other.
Tiffany Jones says
I have not read the Hidden Legacy yet but want to so bad! Burn for me is on my list of books to get next.
Christine Cruz says
I love the family relationships. The love is real, and you can feel it. But there is really nothing I don’t like about this series. I am rereading all the Kate Daniels books right now to distract myself until July 25th!!
Saci says
I love the intensity and excitment the stotylines generate while reading. Also the kick ass Nevada also not a bad addition.
Darla says
The family dynamic. It is hilarious….”if only I had some adolescents”…the love, the humor that all comes from this family Baylor. 4 teenagers who aren’t afraid of death and know how to shoot properly, Grandma Frida…..just all the touches are perfect. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the Nevada and Rogan dance, but at the heart, it is the family. Uncle Rogan is going to be awesome. Thank you for the absolute delight that I have had from this series.
Henry says
The favorites of many readers, are a given for me, i.e. world building, character development, character relationships and snarky dialog. I expect that in every Andrew’s book. What I like best, and Ray said it before me, is the surprise on almost every page. What is going to happen around the next corner? And, to be sure, it wasn’t what I expected.
Meaghan Canavan says
The best part for me is the secondary/ tertiary characters; their reactions give more depth to characters and make it very clear that things are not happening in a vacuum. I am, of course, still waiting for the wife’s reaction to Troy going in for a job interview and coming home with a broken leg. The dress shop scene was good but I am fairly sure a certain dog is going have a partner real soon.
(Not quite stalkish mode; did you end up keeping the cat?)
Claire M says
My favourite thing about Hidden Legacy is the devotion Nevada has to her family. She did not set out to be tough, kick ass girl, but she will do anything for her family. I love that and the bond there is between them all, regardless of how much they may fight at times. It’s so real.
Julie Widdifield says
Everything about the books.Every character is well thought out and with every Ilona Andrews book..the flow makes for the best read.
Holly Beck says
The ridiculously quirky one of a kind characters! SO entertaining!
nickole195 says
everything, really everything, I like this series much more than KD (haters will hate), but if I had to pick a favourite portion, it would be the disneylandesque obtaining of the flash drive!!! love me some ferrets!!! I was humming “it’s a small world” that whole scene!!!
Mara says
I have books 1 & 2 and have been waiting for this one to come out so that I can do one big ol’ binge of the whole trilogy! Looking forward to it– haven’t read an Ilona Andrews novel yet that I didn’t love.
Deborah says
I adore the family dynamic and how they always have each others back. And Grandma Baylor is just kick ass.
DawnK says
Read, re-read and re-read again. I love Nevada’s familial interactions and the strength she derives from her family. Rogan will benefit greatly from the relationship she has with her family and I love that.
Pang says
What’s not to love! But if I have to pick one thing, it is how much I can relate to the characters and how real they feel to me. There are characters you read about and love the idea of said character, and then there are characters that you ‘meet’. You get to know them and experience things with them, grow with them, and by the end if the book they’ve essentially become a friend and a part of your life. It happened in their Kate Daniels and Edge series and they did it again with Nevada and Rogan. This to me is one of many favorite things I love about Hidden Legacy.
Leslee says
I love everything about this series! The world building, Mad Rogan, Nevada, her family, just everything!
Jennifer R. says
My favorite aspect of Hidden Legacy is the maturity Nevada shows. A lot of reviewers usually call it character growth, but Nevada didn’t start out as a know-it-all who had to learn to accept help. She already did that, it was learning to trust and have faith in someone outside her family structure that was hard for her. She listens to advice and takes it when it makes sense and that’s why I love her.
Megan Peacock says
While I enjoy the characters what I truly love is the world building. I will be forever disappointed if these are the only 3 books that are written in this world. (Unless, of course, you the authorlords are tired of the world. Then I will just suck it up and accept. But please don’t be done with it yet.)
Brooke says
My favourite thing has always been the characters and how well they are written! Their unique personalities come through in the books and always leave me wanting to know more and more about them and be their friends!
wont says
It’s almost too difficult to name one favorite thing. Of course I love the emerging relationship between Nevada and Rogan, but I also love the new and different types of magic. All the specialties of the different houses. I love that in the two books released so far, the uber bad guys got their due. I love Rogan’s protective nature toward Nevada, even though she doesn’t like it. Ok, I could fill this box with much more, but I’ll cut it off here. Sigh.
Rosie says
hi
if i had choose my favourite thing ( and it’s almost impossible) it has to be the fact that the book has so many strong female characters ranging from Nevada to her sisters, mother and grandmothers (yes even EG – she’s awful but strong) to Leonora. Even strong female villains – and they don’t even feel the need to don an almost not there sexy bond girl dress to do it (well, except for Harper in book 1). It’s nice to see women dealing with their own problems and not expecting to be rescued the whole time. Of course, the plots are fantastic too as is the writing!
Karen says
I love the ever expanding world! At first it’s just a great story but then you start to get a new layer and another layer, then another…it’s like finding presents within a present ?
Ellie Russell says
I love the complexity of the magic, with all the different types and ranks. It seems really well thought out and all the details are impressive. I also really like the atmosphere around Nevada’s family, I always enjoy the camaraderie of tight-knit groups in books. I’m super excited to read the next book in the series.
Vickie zylstra says
Nevada’s quirky family has to be top on the list. I love how we are still learning more about them and I love the non-traditional Grandma!
AggieReader says
I love Nevada’s tenacity. Even when things get serious and she feels overwhelmed, she continues on in the best way she can. She is one to admire.
Donna says
My favorite is any scene with Grandma.
HopeT. says
This series has been so wonderful. I love the fact that the secondary and tertiary characters are comfortably fleshed-out and intriguing in their own right– plus, this does not detract from the main characters. Instead, it makes it all flow better and feel more real. Great job!
Caressa says
I am in love with the character development. The changes in each character and the nascent revelations about the rest of the siblings has kept me fully engaged. I want to know exactly what the little sister can do. I have read both books at least twice. I will probably read them again next week before the latest installment hits my Kindle. Nevada is real.
KTG says
My favorite things about Hidden Legacy are the world building (you guys have mad world-building skills) and Nevada’s family, because family is everything. Can’t wait for Wildfire on my birthday! Christmas in July for real this year!!!
Cheryl G. says
I love the character development and Nevada’s desire to do the right thing for her family (and also others).
Marta says
Although Nevada resists Rogan’s efforts to protect her and hers, she has the flexibility to acknowledge and accept its necessity and we are not wasting plot time with her going on a “strong, independent woman being undermined by a man” tangent (which usually ends with the strong, independent woman needing to be rescued). And she shows every sign that she in turn is going to foil Connor’s effort to sacrifice their happiness for the sake of improving her strategic position in the inter-family political structure.
Elisabeth says
Well, I don’t even know where to start. Firstly, the chemistry between Nevada and Mad and secondly, that it’s not a kind of “insta-love”, but a relationship that develops over the time.
But there’s also the great word building and the great story with all those twists and turns. And of course, your style of writing and your humor. I always love reading your descriptions because they make me feel more invested in the story instead of being pulled out (as with some authors sometimes).
Kirsten says
I love the witty banter and snappy come-backs between characters! … But also Grandma and her request for pictures 🙂
Zann says
My FAVORITE part of Hidden Legacy is the family dynamic. I love that Nevada never feels alone. I love the interplay between them; the way she mentors and is mentored by then; the support and love. Family is what makes Hidden Legacy being exceptional to me.
Yvonne Farmer says
My favorite thing about the series is the family as much as Nevada loves and wants to protext her family they also driver her crazy. Doesn’t all of our families. The sisters trading get over Rogan reminds me of my three sisters.
Amy Miller says
Nevada Baylor’s banter with herself, friends and family.
Trena says
I haven’t read the series yet as I want to read them all in one grouping. I’m sure it will be fantastic as I read ALL of their books/blogs love love love can’t wait!
Christina says
In most books with any sort of romantic flair, the mother is nowhere to be seen. She is dead, she is neglectful, she has disappeared, etc. I love that Nevada’s mother is a part of her life. Her family is so real to me, I love them all.
Tricia P says
I love everything about this series! It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I love Nevada & her relationship with her family (her family is pretty awesome!), & I love Nevada & her growing relationship with Rogan (they’re sweet & awesome together!)!
Melanie says
I love the interaction between Rogan and Nevada. SO entertaining!! I want to know more about Nevada’s sisters/cousin’s magic. Can’t wait to read the next installment!!
Carinna says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is the familial aspects that are incorporated. I love how family comes first & the dynamics that exist within. It’s got humor and depth in the various relationships that make up Nevada & Rogan’s lives. Love it!
Christine says
I love Nevada’s frankness and the way she handles the world: she knows what it is, and she knows what it takes to get by, and she takes it on like a champ 🙂
Soooooon….
Jenna Frisby says
I love how Nevada’s family is so loving and yet so nuts. I read the series the first time for the main plot, and every other time for The Supporting Cast.
Teresa Hughes says
I like the family dynamic and am dying to know what Arabella’s power is. You may want to know that response to this posting was so overwhelming that your site crashed on my computer. Congratulations.
Marina says
My favorite thing will be the family of both Nevada and Rogan.
The first has a family that love her, support her and help her but have their own stories as well.
Mad Rogan has a reputation, and when you read the books then you realize that he has made himself a family of former military. And you see they care about him.
Those side stories make these books so extraordinary good!
Veronica says
Love the characters and the world building.
Jenny G says
I Love the way the series has a strong female character who is not afraid to admit she has doubts.
I love the support that the family gives to each other and how they handle each hurdle together.
I love the romance that has evolved between Nevarda and Rogan and the fact that he allows her room to breathe. The dynamics of her family probably confused him in the beginning, but I get the feeling that he really wants to be part of the family chaos.
The series catches your attention from the beginning and takes you on a great ride that you don’t want to end.
But lastly I love that the series is in TEXAS we do have bigger and better
Jenny G says
I really hate small keyboards on tablets the name is Nevada not Nevarda
socoMom says
I love reading this series and these authors sooooo muich, that I want the story arc extended. Y’all have made romance reading fun again for me.
Joshua Sanders says
Current favorite is Leon’s voice-over on the video footage.
“I’m death. I’m a ghost. I’ll find you. You can run, you can hide, you can beg, but none of it will help you. I’ll come for you in the darkness like lithe panther with velvet paws and steel claws and…wait, brains, wait, where are you going? Why are you all leaking out of my head? Don’t leave me!”
Shruti Pandey says
Hi, There are so many things that I love about the Hidden Legacy Series, but my favorite thing comes at the end.
I love the mysterious and diverse abilities that the characters possess. I love the sense of humor that accompanies serious interactions and grants the narrative levity. I love the title, and how appropriately it ties to the story.
But, above all, I love Nevada’s character and find her very relatable. Like her, I have many responsibilities, and I sympathize with the struggle she goes through every single time she finds herself at crossroads and has to choose the more difficult, but correct, path. I wish I could be half as kick-ass as she is.
Out of all your awesome characters – and I have read all of your works till date (with the exception of one novella I couldn’t get my hands on *I live in India*) – I relate to Nevada the most. That’s what my favorite in this series. ?
Rebe says
I love the family dynamics and the humor. The teenagers crack me up because they are so annoyingly familiar, lol.
Susan says
I love Nevada’s family and her her relationship with them! They’re all great and it’s a lovely proof that heroines and heroes don’t all have to be “mysterious loners” to be interesting.
Rachelle says
I love everything! But my favorite thing is Nevada’s family. They’re wonderful!
Chris says
In “Burn For Me”, the discussion when Rogan talks about Harper Larvo as a “failed vector” is so evocative.
The idea of her grandfather as a power, but her line a failure, with nothing she do about it, no act she can perform that improves her lot, no skill or learning, nothing, was so starkly cutting. Rarely do you get to see the other side of an inheritance based society spelled out so well.
It made her character extremely well-drawn in a the space of a few paragraphs, and made me wonder how stable Prime society might be with that sort of underside to it.
Bill Page says
We’ve read the books AND listened to the audiobooks. The world building is phenomenal.
But who’s the more “alpha” character, Rogan or Curran?
Kim says
Love the family dynamics!

One of my favorite parts of the Hidden Legacy series is Nevada – smart, ethical, adaptive, protective. From hiding her family in Burn for Me to realizing that she needs to bring their talents forward in WildFire (the snippets, y’all), she has displayed her commitment to her family all the time. What a fabulous character.
Rogan is going to get such a surprise – you know she doesn’t care about mating for prime children!
Britt says
I love the character development and how much Nevada and Rogan and even Augustine have grown over the first two books.
Elizabeth says
I’m currently on the ump-tieth time through Burn for Me, which will be followed by the ump-teenth time through White Hot.
Each time I go through the story again, i notice something more, or have to remind myself that the world they are in isn’t mine and I can’t actually go home and google any of the characters for greater back story. I love the layers and the resulting speculations. While I ADORE Nevada and Rogan, I would blissfully read about any of the characters in this world, even if it was set in Alaska with the super remote chance of seeing anyone I’ve met before.
Just saying…. maybe please?
Vicky N. says
I love the family aspect: That is one is so close together and they all value each other. Also love the world, I think it’s all very interesting.
Devon Kyle says
I love all of the strong female characters, and I love that Rogan is a man who meets a strong woman and tries to help her be stronger. Love this series!
dm says
Besides the great characters and world building, its the many little things that make the book. “Squirrel!” or “How is being an evil henchman treating you?” or Bugs changes after being employed by Rogan ….
Casey says
My favorite scenes are with her familly, and when Rogan gets brought into those relationships.
Epiphyllum says
I pretty much love everything about HIdden Legacy. The world-building, the character-building, and everything that glues them together.
Madison B says
Well I love the whole series, so I’ll just say my favorite scene (without giving thing away!) which is the basement/underground scene in White Hot. Actually, I also really like the basement/cellar scene in Burn for Me, but the one in White Hot I reread several times.
Karen says
I was torn between two answers:
1. The uniqueness of the Baylor family within an already-unique and fascinating world — both in their magic and their quirks.
2. Grandma Baylor.
Daysha says
I love her family values !
Cynthia Lee says
I love Nevada. She’s a great character, blah, blah, blah. Forget the fancy schmancy language. She’s real. Like, could have been the girl in my head from my teens and twenties before sheets hit fan, type of real. She’s tough, loves her family – adore them, adore their weaknesses, quirks, strengths, teamwork, and love for each other – and she’s got realistic traits good, less good, and other. Funny thing, her life is a bit of a fantasy; but while she shows appreciation for the wonderful things in her life I haven’t yet seen her truly understand how lucky she is, at least not in the first two books. Would I were that lucky. Thanks, you two (and editors, et al). Your books give me that priceless break from life, and are damn good, and fun, stories to boot. (hug)
Romy says
Two words….. Sergeant Teddy ?
Jen says
Aside from the fact that I can keep re-reading this series and still love it, my favorite thing is that I got my husband to use the phrase “picture or it didn’t happen.”
Julia Sullivan says
I love how complex the characters are. It makes them more “alive”. Love Nevada’s and Rogan’s romance. Rogan is hot, hot, hot! Love how loyal Nevada is to her family and to Rogan.
Lisa says
Character development and timing! You have a way of making these people so relatable even with their talents. You also deliver what we want with the perfect amount of waiting for it as well as stuff we never see coming. We are not worthy Authorlords but we are grateful!
Tierra says
I have two favorite things about the world and they’re pretty equal. One is the world. I love the dynamics between the houses and how the magic works and the classes like Primes and stuff. It just makes me enjoy the world and it’s so easy to get immersed in it. It’s just so fun to read about how the houses work and how this new world is.
The second is of course Rogan. I’m sorry but badass alpha males get me.
Lela says
I love the way the characters have grown, they have real frustrations about life the worries that many of us have day to day with some kick ass magic and romance thrown in.
Lindsay says
First and foremost, Nevada is such a clearly defined character. She is sassy and strong and keeps her eye on the prize. You write such compelling female characters, even the secondary once.
I’m a sucker for the slow-burn romance and this series does it for me. 🙂
Sara says
I love how deftly you write the building of the romance between Rogan and Nevada.
Roxanne says
I really like the balance of action and romance!
Adam says
Rogan and Grandma. Please let there be a scene where these two have a full conversation.
Joan Abbott says
I am a sucker for a well developed alpha-hole. Rogan has a convincing reason for being the way he is and still it is believable that extremely grounded Nevada falls for him. Watching his baffled attempts to understand her worldview is amazing and entertaining.
Lynn says
I love the relationship dynamics: family, friendship and romantic.
DawnD says
I like the magic. It’s similar to types of magic you run into in other types of world-building, but at the same time, utterly unique. I like how the society has bifurcated to operate with a normal society operating in parallel with the magical society; two systems of government, two types of power.
Chiara (A.K.A. Chandramas) says
The dragon thing make me crack everytime….
I love the humor in the books, it’s like I can see real people in the books, ok there is magic, and plot not “real” but the characters sound so true to me. Am I confusing? sorry. But that’s my favorite thing. They all speak and act like real persons, not characters. They are the kind of people I’d love to interact in real life.
Michelle K. says
I love the dialogue! One of the reasons I repeatedly reread all the books by Ilona Andrews is the delightful banter between characters.
Natasha McNeely says
I love the wide variety of characters; it makes for great interactions, and a great story!
Sica Michael says
I love your strong Female character. Nevada kicks ads and is funny as hell.
Arcanist Lupus says
I love how the Baylor are going to badly confuse House society with their unusual and ridiculously powerful magic and strong family values.
Alldrgnfly says
The different types of magical families and how they relate to each other.
Theresa Lee says
I love the characters, especially the family dynamics of the Baylors and the developing relationship of Mad Rogan and Nevada. This is an awesome series
Tina Black says
One of my favorite bits is when Rogan changes into ordinary clothes, and when Nevada thinks he is a dragon going down to spy on the delicious villagers, he clicks his teeth.
I just laughed!
It is the first place he starts showing a lot of response to Nevada in an everyday way.
JTReader says
Everything! Okay, if I had to pick one, probably the characters. Nevada and Rogan and Nevada’s family.
Carolyn Lee says
The series is a wonderful read – a I cannot book the book down…let me just finish this chapter….. The Baylor family will make a terrific House! I really enjoy the detail of the characters and the world they live in.
Lauren in CA says
My favorite thing is Nevada’s family. I love how they watch out for each other, and support their strengths and weaknesses.
Bex says
I love the importance of Nevada’s family to her and how important they are in the story. The dedication to protecting her family whilst at the same time trusting them to use their own skills and thrive is something you don’t usually see in paranormal romance books.
Teragram says
Best thing – Rogan. Any scene with him in it.
Julie M says
I love the world building and I love Nevada. I pretty much love everything about the series.
Good luck to all and congratulations to the winner!
Rebecca says
My favorite thing is the interaction between Nevada and her family (and the beginnings of interactions between Rogan and Nevada’s family). I think Rogan is going to be shocked when they start to treat him as one of their own. Grandma Frieda is my very favorite!
sarafina says
Nevada – I love her strength and courage in the face of all the situations being thrown at her.
Sam Beilhart says
I love absolutely everything about this series. The characters, their problems, the family dynamic, the low simmering and then explosive love life? Gahhh! Love it. The dialogue in this book and the interaction of the characters is soooooo realistic! It sucks me in every time! Freaking love everything the duo Ilona Andrews have written and I own dual copies of hardback and ebooks because I just need to have instant access whenever I feel like rereading – which I reread several times a year!
Lisa F says
My favorite thing about the series (so far) is Nevada’s backstory and how she and Rogan accept each other for who they are.
Alex R. says
I enjoyed the Hidden Legacy series a lot more than I initially expected, since I prefer the fantasy/sci-fi genre to romance. BUT!!! I’m hooked. I liked the new world of magic and the primes. I liked the new characters. As an aside, one of the best things about Ilona and Gordon’s writing is that the characters are unique. You don’t look at the Kate Daniels supporting cast and say, oh yeah, so and so is just like Spider from the Edge series.
Anyhow, my favorite thing about these books is the main character. Nevada is smart, strong, loves her family and has cool super powers. What’s not to like? And, sure. Rogan is fun too.
Diana says
I love the world building, particularly the way the hidden legacy world is in someways our own and in others radically changed by the presence of magic. I thought the scene with school assignment looking at the influence of magic on history was a fantastic touch.
Karla Miller says
Favorite is difficult, but the contrast of Nevada’s ethics and the overall ethics lacking in the world of the Primes underscores a discrepancy I wish more people would factor into their real world decision making. Also, Rogan’s independent, tough-minded standards, flouting convention and standing as a defender of people who are wronged, not explaining or defending, just getting it done-that works for me. Combined, Nevada and Rogan will be an incredible force for the good guys.
MaryH says
I love everything, especially Nevada and her family’s dynamic.
Katie F says
I love the complex family relationship of the Baylors which imo adds so much richness to the series.
The bride pictures epitomize the kind of love you but you’re driving me bonkers interaction that makes the character building so unique.
Chelsea says
I love Nevada’s love for her family and how fiercely protective she is. I also love that she’s a heroine that knows her limitations, mentally anyway, when it comes to doing what she is comfortable with. Her morality and realistic attitude is one of her best qualities and makes her an absolute favorite character for me.
Paras C. says
I love that it is not boring.. a short order but very very difficult to do, especially in a series. I love that even in the mundane there are some touching, sweet or even provacative moments in the books
Sleepy says
Ahh so exciting!! Picking a favorite is hard… I guess what i love so much is the real ness of the characters. Nevada + family just seem like real people just with some extra cool powers.
Sleepy says
I changed my mind… Honestly its just the fact that Nevada doesnt take any crap. Too often romance and genres like paranormal romance have heroines that are pushovers and melt at the sight of a hot guy. Why are they in love? Because they saw the guy and in 1 second omg-this-is-the-hottest-guy-I’ve-ever-seen-im-helpless. Its really annoying and has ruined books for me. Romances should be built on actually have two characters connect on a personality level, and Hidden Legacy (and your books in general) deliver on that 🙂
Cindy says
I love the interactions between all the main characters. The sisters are fun, Grandma is awesome, Rogan is Rogan… Love the series. The Authorlords spoil us with excellent writing.
Zora says
If I have to choose only 1 thing: dialogues:-)
Christi Hubbard says
I like the fact that the family supports each other. Nevada is honest and trustworthy. Rogan is very misunderstood. Nevada and Rogan are mates in my opinion. Nevada is a woman after my own heart. She has values and stands by them just like Rogan.
Beth says
As always, strong female leads, paired with strong men! Equality is awesome!
Julye Evans says
Asking me what my favorite thing about the book is brings me a great quandary. There are SO many things I like. Picking out only one is very challenging. So, I’ll have to give you several. The world – I really enjoy how you built it with the magic houses. I love the family dynamics with the Baylors. The slow build between Rogan and Nevada. How Rogan grew so much from royal ass to decent human being. How Rogan saves and values his people. Nevada’s ability and her drive to learn how to use it. The pied piper, wow…. I could go on and on. I’ve re-read the first two in anticipation of the third, and am greatly looking forward to July 25.
Evelyne says
What’s not to like. The characters are charming and interesting. Can not wait for the next book.
Simone says
Wow – this hasn’t been up too long and already 400+ comments
A favorite thing – narrow it to one? Impossible!
Badass male Rogan meeting his equal in Nevada. I told him No and the world didn’t stop spinning.
Secondary characters are all fab and I always want to know more about them.
The ferret burglary scene was very funny
How family is everything
Marija says
Hard to make a choice, but first picks would be the world building and Nevada’s family.
kat w says
I love Nevada’s family. They are all unique and support each other. I love the world building. I love everything but enjoy the family. Doesn’t help that you drop hints regarding her siblings and cousins magic….
Denisetwin says
My favorite part of Hidden Legacy is the magic system and the fact that Nevada is not an all powerful magic user. She gets hurt, she can’t just solve all her problems by throwing magic at it.
Stephanie says
Everything? I love the way Rogan and Nevada play off each other and interact. Their whole dynamic is perfect.
Kristen G says
I adore how they break into Baranovsky’s house with the ferrets! Likewise, Rogan’s reaction to the success of the venture. *grin*
Helen Wawrejko says
Badass heroine, badass Rogan, badass storyline.
Veronika says
I like grandma Frida. She is always funny.
Heather says
I really enjoy how Nevada seems to instinctively know what the next thing to happen will be, like almost premonition but then will face-plant regarding her feelings about Rogan, like a real live girl who just likes a boy. She’s smart, funny and tough but has a down to earth quality and a vulnerability that makes me like her immensely. Thank you for the hours of reading and re-reading, this is one of my favorite series!
Etta says
I love that Baylor’s are united, loving family. They will support each other no matter what. Also, I like Augustine, Catalina and Grandma Baylor, just because 😀
Dana says
I’m a romance reader so a favorite would be the relationship between Nevada and Rogan. But I also love the relationships within Nevada’s family.
Jasmine Stairs says
I love a lot of things, but the family dynamics (especially with teenagers) is my favourite.
Tricia B says
Ahhh there’s so much I love about this series! Honestly the whole magical world is my favorite thing. The whole magic hierarchy is so interesting. Oh, and Nevada’s whole family dynamic is fantastic!
Maggie Johnston says
One of the things I like about this series is the neat, comfortable, lived-in dynamic among all of members of Nevada’s family. Another is the moment when Nevada reaches Rogan in the void as Houston is about to be fully destroyed – love that moment.
Roswita says
My favourite thing is that you two wrote it 🙂
shirley greenwald says
I love her bedroom. The small and secluded space
Jennifer Smith says
I love the family Dynamics of the Baylor’s and I seriously enjoy the world building.
KC Whimsy says
My favorite is Nevada’s family. Just love the characters. I’d love to see more of Grandma Frida!
Randy says
The Ilona Andrews worlds are second to none. And to make them even better, they have the best narrator in the world. Not much else to say than what’s already been said.
Elizabeth C says
How badass Rogan is and the chemistry between him and Nevada. ??
Alisa r says

???????????
Betsy says
I haven’t read this trilogy but I do love your Kate Daniels series and the Innkeeper chronicles.
t.j. says
oh god, i have to pick one thing? there’s so much to choose from…ok, well, i guess the first thing that comes to mind is leons magic. yes nevadas relationship struggles are great, the action is fun and suspenseful, the world building is awesome and everything, but that little scene where bug is showing nevada he security footage was so like…i dunno, subtle and perfect. i really loved it.
Jael says
My favorite thing… I love the relationship between Nevada and her family. The prank with the wedding dresses that had N+R=LURVE in it had me absolutely dying. Also, I like the world building with the magic. Finally, I really enjoy Rogan as a character.
Lillian Jolly says
My favorite thing about Hidden Legacy is the world you’ve built to tell the story in. Very much like reality, but different in significant ways. When I’m reading about the characters’ adventures, I think, “Wow. This would be a great place to visit and study. Maybe not live there, but a research trip, sure!”
Shannon says
I love the wit and wisdom of Nevada and her family. I want to be Grandma Frida when I grow up!
Heather says
Definitely the combination of sarcasm, humor, and real affection among Nevada, Rogan, and her entire family!
Carrie F says
Loving the series and just finished rereading the first two books.
Iris says
I read a lot of fantasy and paranormal fiction and the books by the Ilona Andrews team are easily my favorites. For this series in particular, I love the way Nevada is written. It’s rare to see such a strong, independent female protagonist that also has a close relationship with her family.
Rivers says
Hard to pick just one thing. I love the way Nevada and Rogan’s relationship has developed – any scene between them.
Lorraine G says
My favorite is Mad Rogan.
Bridget says
I love your writing style which then, of course, includes Burn for Me. I haven’t read White Hot yet. You really put your heart into your writing and it shows.
Louise says
The universe is fascinating – live the world building!
Anne says
I love Nevada’s grandmother. She says some great things and is not your average grandmother.
Teena says
The possibility that you could be born with magic.
Colleen Champagne says
I think my favorite thing is seeing the relationship between Rogan and Nevada grow.
Ellen Rodriguez says
I love everything about it. But i think it Nevada, guts that i love the most (and Rogan’s ads… its all my head but man they as AWESOME)
Booklover says
My favorite about Hidden Legacy is that it makes sense. You built a world around a fun fact (aka the Osiris Serum) and everything develops logically from there. You do explain everything and you write relateable characters. Heck, I’ve come to like Mad Rogan whom I thought to be a jackass after reading Burn for me. And Nevada is cool, doesn’t act dumb and I never want to smack her for behaving like a lovestruck ninny*. She knows her worth and sticks to herself and her… I’d call it moral code. The scene where he kidnaps her – other authors would have turned it into a “hot dominant alpha guy and kickass girl turned sex kitten thing have to obey their instincts and make out” scene. You didn’t and wrote it better. I love your strong female characters and your awesome male protagonists. After White Hot even Mad Rogan. I can’ t wait to see how it turns out. If I don’t win, I just want to thank you for making a difference in UF.
—————-
* Happens to me everytime I read Helen Harper or Lilith Saintcrow. Serves me right for buying bundles because the plot sounds amazing and I fell into a rabbit hole.
J. Lee Conaway says
Only one thing? Wow! There’s so much more to your books than just one likable thing. Each series is a whole new world to explore. Okay, lemme think…how about Grandmother and her attack tanks? Hmmm…dunno much about mom…she’s not really there enough. The suspense, the drama, the romance? Yeah, those get me, too. The main problem with your books? They pull me in too fast, and before I know it…it’s over. I’ve read it from cover to cover in the (metaphorically speaking) blink of an eye. And, they always leave me wanting more!…more!…more! And with those few snippets to whet my appetite, I can hardly wait for Wildfire to be out.
SusanK says
Two words – ferret badgers!!!! = ) Can’t wait to read Wildfire! Thanks!
Shal says
My favorite thing about the series is that each character has a unique quirk. All of these quirks and abilities fit together and mesh with the characters but they’re all different and complex. It makes the fantasy element even more believable and the characters very relatable.
Sonia martinez says
Grandma Freda no bullshit attitude. Nevada trying to keep family first. Not falling so easily into Rogans arms. Staying try to herself. The series overall is fantabulous.
Marta says
Soooooo,
The thing I Love the most IS that everything happens for a reason..there isn’t an action without a motive… in other books we get a lot of unnecessary information but here everything is written with the purpose of giving details, more character information (which I love) or to develop more the story…
Also, I love everyone and Rogan IS so HOT!!!
Please I need this book as soon as possible or I’ll dieeee!!! ????
Amarins says
Wow I would love a copy! I’m a fan from the Netherlands and after I devoured your Kate Daniels series I came across Hidden Legacy and it was just as great! Loved the world you build and all the details you describe and especially Nevada’s familly. There so dynamic and remind me a lot of growing up in a large family myself.
Shruti Pandey says
Hi,
I love the world-building, the humorous interactions that follow the serious scenes and grant some levity whenever needed. I love the narrative, the diverse powers, characters and romance.
I love the title of the series, and how it ties to the story at different levels.
But my most favorite is the fact that I can relate to Nevada as I have never been able to with any other character I have read till date.
Please don’t get me wrong, I have read and re-read all of your works till date -(with the exception of a short story, I haven’t been able to get my hands on it yet)- and I love all your characters and stories and connect with all of them.
However, Nevada’s responsibilities, how they affect her decisions, how they weigh on her, how she struggles to do the right thing and how she more than survives, I can sympathize with it.
In all of the top favorites stories of mine, the main characters often live alone/don’t have family/move away etc. In others, it’s not discussed in as much detail. (The Edge series had this element too, to some level. Hidden Legacy takes it a step further.) ?
Nevada loves her family and accepts them, sacrifices for them and they accept and support her. I relate to her the most and wish I could be half as kick-ass as she is. ?
Anne in Virginia says
I want to sing “These are a few of my favorite things…” but the song would have too many verses when I talk about the Hidden Legacy series. Characters, dialogue, plot and on and on and on. A compulsive reread.
Anne in Virginia
Sara R says
Ferrets!
Kerri says
The snark and violence. I love action-packed books with women who kick ass and deliver snark in equal measure.
Laurie Pritzl says
I love the world building and the humor. There are so many times I laughed out loud when listening to the audio!
Amber Turner says
I love the comedy that is inserted into the story, even when there is a tense moment or some action going on. I also really like how quickly the story can turn and how fast it seems to move.
Quail Hill says
I love this series because the characters are really relatable and their stories make sense. I hope to see more stories set in this universe.
Carly Cogburn says
I haven’t read this series yet!
Quele says
This is an impossible request, but maybe the fact that Nevada has no regrets about building her skills–no complaints that maybe she’s changing who she is. In fact, she compared it to stretching a muscle. I also love that Rogan is helping her, even though he thinks it’ll be his loss in the end.
Kayla says
Can everything be it? Honestly I love all your books. I love how each heroine is different but they always have… backbones? You know? They always are content and happy with themselves first. So many books have a woman find a man to find happiness, it’s refreshing to have strong confident women who just happen to fall in love!
tuch says
Grandma Frida is the best. Wisdom with a little irony.
Caroljay says
Wow…favorite thing about Hidden Legacy…probably the characters. The characters are quirky, funny, cool, and they have loads of layers (even the minor ones). Of course, the series also features tightly-pace plots, loads of adventure, and awesome and complex world building. However, I always come back to how much fun I have reading these characters and their stories.
Liz F says
I love how the Baylor clan is kinda like the Borg. They bring people in and they become assimilated. Rogan, Cornelius, Matilda have all in a way found a place within the family.
Jen Mintern says
Favorite thing about the books – the family connections and how everyone interacts with one another. Favorite moment so far has to be the ferret heist. Favorite quote “Small talk with the dragon. How are you? Eaten any adventurers lately? Sure, just had one this morning. Look, I still got his femur stuck in my teeth, Is that upsetting to you?” Hehe I love the snarky humor.
Rachel W says
I love Nevada so much! Her family is hilarious and she’s such a badass. Rogan is pretty ok too (wink)! Thanks for the chance!
Patricia Schlorke says
One thing?! Everything and everyone in the series. If I have to narrow it down? Rogan. Why? He is very complex. One moment he’s the badass protector who gets his way with everything and everyone except Nevada, Nevada’s mom, and Grandma Frida; the next moment he takes the time to “rescue” someone who’s ex-military to incorporate him or her into his private army. Rogan doesn’t let his guard down with anyone but Nevada. When that happens sparks fly! Oh yeah, he’s one hot magic user. 😀
Carly says
My favourite is the humor, I’m always randomly bursting into laughter and startling my cat. Most of these are centered around Grandma Frida so she would probably also be a favourite.
Lateefa Dawkins says
I love the way Rogan sees everything strategically and makes plans on how to accomplish his goal. While Nevada is like a fresh breath of air to him while holding her own compass of right and wrong. Characters are interesting and hilarious.
Missy says
Everything! But most especially that even though Nevada is powerful, she’s not “all-powerful” and she’s up against people who could crush her, but she doesn’t give up. She figures out a way to make it work because it’s the right thing.
Sue says
I really love the world building of the book. It’s very believable and relatable.
Laura Cunningham says
What I love about this series is Nevada’s dedication to and protection of her family. She is truly inspiring and I care about her deeply. I hope this story will continue past three books as I feel there is so much more to learn about all these great characters and this wonderful world of magic.
Paola says
I just love that Nevada is such a strong and straightforward female character. No regrets. Taking risks and not afraid of making a fool of herself. Honest to herself and others always!
ash says
OMG, I love so much I can’t choose! I think I like that Nevada can rip the truth out of someone if she wants to. I *might* have some trust issues and I’d freaking LOVE to be able to tell when someone is lying, and force the truth from them if I had to.
Akanksha says
Nevada’s family!! I love the bonds between them and the portrayal of strong female characters despite their age. They are role models to their children and siblings regardless of gender.
Amber says
Omg. Best part…. the fact that Nevada has her own secrets and is capable on her own. Everyone assumes she is working for some party or paired with someone, but she has her own ideas and agenda.
Sure Thing says
I read the first book and loved the family interaction scenes. It seems silly but it shows exactly what Nevada protects by keeping her powers secret. It’s not just about herself.
Rachel Andrew says
Rogan is by far my favourite thing about this series! He is sexy as all get out. Good luck everyone!
Nimsa says
I love the family dynamics. They bicker and tease each other, but when it matters they are there for each other.
Dottie says
My favorite thing about the Hidden Legacy series – i gotta say its the strong family theme throughout the books!!! I love Nevada Baylor and her loyalty and protectiveness to her family – makes me root for her all the time! I’m a huge fan of Bern and Leon, Grandma Frida, Catalina and Arabella – how they are all such a strong family unit. Penelope too. Go House Baylor!! Fingers crossed I win this – I cannot Wait for Wildfire to come out!!!!
Kimberly Houle says
I love the way the characters seem like normal people even with magic. The story is engrossing and holds ones attention and makes you want to read in one sitting.
Tins says
What I love most? The Baylors. They are all a little crazy but they love each other and would do anything for each other. That’s how a family should be.
Debi Murray says
OMG, y’all know my favorite thing is Connor Rogan! He is my new favorite book boyfriend. (Don’t tell Jeaniene!)
Mary Raedel says
If I had to choose only one thing, it would be how different this series seems to be from a lot of the other books in this genre. I remember when I first read Burn For Me, I was in a bit of a new book slump, & Burn For Me was like a breath of fresh air.
Alicia says
I love Nevada’s family and how close they are to each other. Especially her grandma, she always makes me laugh.
Amy K says
I like the way family is depicted in the HL series.
Lisa says
Love the revelations about Nevada’s family – her sister’s powers and introduction of the 2nd grandmother. Can’t wait to find out more!
Jillian berndt says
Oh I just love it! Right now I am most loving that Nevada will be forming House Baylor and I can’t wait to hear more about the powers belonging to her family members.
Rebecca Lysohir says
I really like the great world-building. It’s believable and the characters that you’ve created have just the right blend of strengths and vulnerabilities. I like the strong and independent heroine that is Nevada. Love all your series!
Ruby says
I love that Mad Rogin totally underestimated Nevada when he met her and despite that, now he’s proud of her and what she can do. Most men would have freaked out and run away.
Tiffany says
The best part of the series is the interactions between Nevada and her family members.
Victoria says
So, so many things to love about these books! Nevada and Rogan’s relationship, the strong female characters, the snark, the mystery of the sisters’ powers, the well developed 2ndary characters…. I could go on and on!
Valerie says
I love this series. It has great action, with an interesting story arc to hold it together. The characters are funny, sometimes sarcastic, and have great relationships. And of course, Rogan and Nevada – their love/hate relatiionship keeps getting better and better!
More please!!!
Elva Björk says
I love the Baylor clan and their loyalty to each other, and the snarky conversations 🙂 I also love that Nevada really is a strong female who will stand up for herself and for others – even against scary dragons 😉
Monica Campos says
Your characters are amazing but here, besides the obvious story line I must admit that I love Grandma Frida. I love her obsession with photos of famous men and social media, her fantastic sense of humor and the fact that she can see what no one else has seen yet. I hope one day to read all those wonderful secrets she´s been hiding.
Candace M says
I love the quirky, crazy, loving, crazy, always-got-your-back, crazy, Baylor family. 🙂
Alexis V says
I love how detailed and smart Nevada is!
ginger says
Rogan is my favorite, but I love how Nevada stands up to him and everyone freaks out when she does. that’s awesome..
Pika says
Thanks for this amazing giveaway ! English is not my motherlanguage so I hope you’ll understand this comment ^^
It’s hard to choose what I like the most in the Hidden Legacy series ^^’ I guess I like the worldbuilding and the background of the story the most : different types of magics, the Houses, different laws, even Leon’s homework… It felt “real” as if it truely exists in an alternative universe. The way you describe, the lack of illogical things (at least, I didn’t notice any holes), the details… it makes Hidden Legacy’s world feel “real” so I can actually read and.. escape to that universe (hope it makes any sense…).
I also like the action scenes -as previously said in another comment-, the way it is written : dynamic, like you’re seeing it in front of you.
I also love Nevada’s family, their bond, the way they interact and work. And Rogan.
To put it in a nutshell : the world and its characters *cough -everything- cough*

My favorite thing is the interaction between Rogan and Nevada. My next favorite thing is Nevada’s family interactions. She loves them and wants to protect them. She supports them and they support her.

I really enjoyed the first book! It was refreshing having a main character call the male lead out on his overbearing, sociopathic tendencies. Since Twilight became so popular, it’s become a staple for creepy shit to be romantic.

It’s difficult to just pick one good thing. It’s hilarious that there’s a “Herald” for Prime fanfiction. And that Nevada reads it.

Only to win an early copy would I reveal this – I completely related to Nevada not noticing she was a prime. I had an IQ test when I entered a new school in 5th grade. My parents chose not to share. When I found the report in my 30s my reaction was – “Why didn’t you tell me I was smart. I might have done something important with my life.” (I did go to MIT & I did manage to do a couple of things I was proud of so I’m not really sure what I was thinking with my reaction either . . .)

I love how each character truly comes alive as you read and the amazing and magical world that the authors created.

Hidden Legacy has so many things I love. Especially how Rogan and Nevada’s chemistry is explosive from the beginning. When these two people are together it’s magic. Through kidnappings, fights, arguments, lectures etc. You can’t ignore how good these two are together. Just love it! Thanks for giving us an opportunity to win a Wildfire book!

I love so much about his series. My favorite part is how it’s a world we recognize even though it is so different from our own. And I love Nevada and how she’s stretching her limitations and may agonize about asking for help, but will do whatever she needs to do to protect her family.

Every time I re-read them I discover another detail that suddenly makes sense

I love the Legacy series for so many reasons. The whole world that is created with dueling magical families is just awesome with the sprinkles of historical elements. I actually find myself looking up stuff that you mention in the storyline to learn more.

I love the family ties, the wit within the writing and the scenes with Nevada and Rogan. I’m intrigued by the sisters and can’t wait to see the reactions of the Houses to the newly formed House. Just.So.Excited. Beyond excited…

My favorite thing is Nevada’s loyalty.

I love the banter between Nevada and Rogan. It’s funny, substantive, and evolves as their relationship grows. Also (non evil) Grandma is fantastic.

I like the family and how different the magic is by different persons

So much to love! I would have to say the characters and how rich they are and not just one dimensional. I love Nevada’s integrity and how she is genuinely frightened but still does the right thing.

I love the back anf forth between Nevada and Rogan. The whole Baylor family dynamic is hilarious.
