No doughnuts for me, sadly. We have some routine medical procedures coming up, and Gordon is fasting today, and I’m fasting in solidarity. I will have to eat something since I’m chauffeuring him tomorrow, but for now it’s tea. Clear liquids for the win.
We still have 2 scenes left. Need to finish those today no matter what.

When are the chapters coming down?
Monday. In publishing terms, the book release is right around the corner, so there isn’t a long wait.
But what about Wilmos?
You have to wait till December 13th.
Will there be an audio book?
Yes. It will be recorded shortly, as soon as we can get this book beta read and edited.

First of all, CONGRATS! (and thank you).
Is there any chance that the illustrations will be accessible either here on your website or as part of the ebook? I can’t express how super-helpful they were to keep all the characters straight in my head.
There will be interior illustrations in the book ???? and also possible extras like a candidates index to help.
However what will help the most will be reading it all in one go without the serialised format. It’s very exciting and fun, but makes it difficult to keep details straight ????
I’ve re-read it a couple of times while leaving the character bio pages open in tabs to refer back to… very often. My tired old brain thanks House Andrews for all their extra work on those pages.
+1. It’s actually why I try NOT to backread. I can’t give up on the installments, but I also don’t want to be too much like “it’s different here in the book from what was posted!” Because it should be. That’s what editing MEANS.

How do you become a beta reader. Ive heard a lot about them from other authors but have never figured out how to become one.

I live near Daytona Beach. This is my forecast for the next 5 days. I can tell you that the surfers will be out in full force on Saturday.
Yep! We have the kite-surfers on Lake Michigan beaches (Chicago to the IL/WI state line) in the late fall. They wear wetsuits and floatation gear, but it still makes the CPD marine unit and the north shore police departments crazy.
Really cool to watch, but some of those waves are wicked.

I look so much forward to reading the wole book in one go. When Ruby Fever came out, I took the day off, spent the whole day reading outside in the sun, was the best day all year. Feels almost too good to be true to have two books in the same year.

I saw the title of the post, and then I immediately saw the picture, and I thought: ‘OMG! That IS the BDH! Totally!’ And then I realized it was Orro. But still.
Off at a slight angle here . . . Spent the summer reading and rereading Sweep of the Blade, book 4, featuring Maud, Helen, and Arland, and was intrigued when Arland promised Helen a puppy. Wondering if perhaps that’s a bit that got cut? Would love to read that part if it exists. After I’d read the book a few times, it became a favorite bedtime read-til-you-drop-it-twice, then turn off the light.
Clear broths can be improved with herbs bundles in cheesecloth. Steep as if for tea but apply heat longer as in bouquet garni. Remove cheesecloth bundle and voila! Your broth is much nicer and still qualifies as clear liquid.
Many thanks for the Sweep of the Heart chapters this past year! I’ve deeply enjoyed the progression. I’m another BDH pre-order. Also, that cookbook would be another “snap it up now” purchase.

I pre-ordered and I never pre-order (I mean I do but it’s like the night before) because I can never keep track of what’s coming out when and I won’t remember to keep some money on the card I use for Amazon. But for your guy’s books I will remember. They’re must haves!

I was just flipping back and looking at illustrations when I had to pause and reread my favorite chapter: 21-1. And savor my favorite quote: I want attentions. All of them.
I’m going to miss that cat! But I get to read about her again in December!!

So did we ever see the spouse candidates trying to kill *each other* in the inn? They certainly tried to kill Kosandion, but other than some poorly flung sandbags and indiscriminate Dushegubs, I can’t think of murder attempts between candidates. We heard that the earlier stages of the competition included strategic candidate murder, but did they ever try it in the inn?
They certainly tried to kill each other in the final fight hehe. And yes, the earlier attempt by the Dushegub delegation during the debate trial, plus whatever they were trying to escape their pit for every night.
But mostly, by the end of the story, we find out that there was soooo much more Kosandion & co were trying to root out with the selection, that we can confidently look back and say the initial pretexts they had for holding the event at the inn were just that: pretexts 🙂

Otherwise I am a grumpy nasty snarly person. All day long. So I have learned to schedule my blood work / labs, first thing in am and treat myself to bad for me fast food breakfast.

Challenge accepted! I’ve been saving up the weekly posts to read all at once, as a treat for myself after the surgery I’ve had coming up. The surgery just happened on Monday. I was groggier than expected for a couple days so I haven’t started reading yet, but now I’m (mostly) clear-headed, so it’s time to get busy before everything comes down. I can’t wait!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April, and since then I’ve reread all the series (again). They’ve kept me company every step of the way, through all the hard things a diagnosis like mine entails. There is a moral center and indomitable spirit at the heart of all of the stories that I find both deeply comforting and incredibly fortifying for just about any challenge you can face. They’ve brought me a lot of joy.
Heh. I just reread this and it sounds pretty cheesy. I’m not dying! At least not in any currently foreseeable future. I just want to express my gratitude and let Ilona and Gordon know that their hard work means so much to me and so many others. Thank you for all your creativity and hard work!
