A couple of quick updates to start the week.
First, for everyone asking about purchasing the commissioned This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me artwork:
If you are looking for prints of the character art, Helena Elias’ store is open and she has a special Ilona Andrews page.
Luisa Preissler announced that her store will soon be carrying character art cards, and she showed the proofs on Instagram yesterday.

Candice Slater is also currently working through options for the Kair Toren art, which you can admire here.
If you want prints and cards and probably calendars, please buy them from the artists directly. The Ilona Andrews merch store will focus instead on book tie-in items, such as vellum inserts meant to go into the hardcover, bookmarks, and similar goodies.

Ive been going back and forth between ebook and audio just finished 2nd read.. I didnt notice there’s no exact physical description of Maggie.
huh.
she says, “she’s pretty”
which can be anybody’s perception of “pretty” because Maggie is any of us 😉
When Maggie wakes up in the Garden, she sees herself in the mirror and realizes she isn’t inhabiting someone else’s body. There’s a description there, although it might not be very detailed.
Author Lords admitted they might have written the books Maggie was reading?! I will buy it! Gimmeeeeeee!!!!!
I caught that….I fear that they will write them exactly as it’s and we will have a neverending cliffhanger on book two of the book within a book. it might break the BDH!!!
lol! But we would have Maggie 3 to weave in and to ponder and create new theories and hypotheses about. It would be yummy and we would be temporarily sated. Maybe.
It would be great if they were edited and sold as “companions to” books?

I watched it on YouTube and I must say, I wonder if Gordon just has a bad rep by now. I mean, I thought Ilona gave us a lot more information than Gordon did. I guess Ilona had all her ducks in a row and knew exactly what she was going to say, but Gordon had been given severe warnings to keep quiet on pain of…pain (thx for the Terry ❤️Pratchett- mayherestinpeace- references 🙂 btw).
Either way, I also enjoyed it, even though there was a distressing lack of spoilers, so thanks from me too😀

Hahaha!! I saw “zoomies” in the post title and thought perhaps House Andrews or ModR pets were starring in videos. I’ve been on FB, catching up on my favorite animal sites, and there’s been lots of footage of zoomies and happy dances!!

When I see that artistic visions of professionals, it drives home how inadequate my mind’s eye visions of characters is. These portrayals are great, especially Maggie’s. The sharpness of her eyes, the strength of her face, perfect.

Is there any update on timing of Companion Book or the bonus scene/stories?
Also, my questions wasn’t asked in the zoom, but is there a reason no one told Maggie that Everard made it back alive (including Everard himself), or did they really all just not think about it??? I could kind of understand Solentine not thinking about telling her and his people being tight lipped, but not Everard! But I don’t know if I’m just missing some emotional nuance, or if there is a reason that I will have to w*it for 🙂

I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to TKWNKM, but this last time it finally hit me. “Your welcome is withdrawn” is totally from The Innkeepers series! Every time I listen/read I find something new! Thank you so much House Andrews!
Totally off-topic but Kobo deactivated my account after “unauthorized activity.” That activity was some @#%%% who broke into my account and asked for a refund for This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me and Beast Business (that so and so was not me). So if you see one less sale for TKWNKM, that was this situation and I will rebuy as soon as I can get my account back up (apparently restoring a purchase is not possible). Also, I’m furious. I had only read Maggie once (and a half) before it disappeared from my library and my account went down.

I loved this, so interesting listening to Ilona and Gordon. Like most, I did not notice the lack of description of Maggie. I guess I just created one in my head and read on. I have noticed that Everard is described as clean shaven and yet the pictures being done of him show him with a beard. I’m hoping someone will do him clean shaven. I love this book – have read it twice so far and I can’t wait for #2 and #3!
If anyone can direct me to a 3D print file (.stl) of Sushi I would be forever grateful!!! I want one for my desk! My husband is willing to 3D print one for me but needs a file to feed the printer! 😂

I realize I missed the boat for Zoom Q&A, but I am throwing myself on your mercy.
The boat that was bought to dispose of the slaver bodies – what happened to it? When Maggie is stressing about money she doesn’t think of selling it. Even if it was bought with slaver money, it’s a substantial piece of property. Where do they keep it? There’s no place for a cart because it won’t fit through the entrance hall, so it’s not in the courtyard either. I assume there’s not a boat house, and presumably it would be stolen if they left it tied up/anchored behind the house. Did I miss the explanation? Does it just disappear from the narrative, or does it factor in one of the remaining books? Surely Clover knows. Please ask her.

The slaver had a dock to smuggle kidnapped people. I think it was used when they broke into Ulmar’s bunker.

I am trying to decide what/how much to order via the artists’ website now that they are all up.
For those of you who read in ebook but still want the art – we are planning on releasing a companion book of deleted and bonus scenes and all of this art will be in there. That volume will be self-published and you will be able to grab it from our store and all the usual retailers.
