Beast Business and Other Audio Updates

Blog, Hidden Legacy, KD World 25 Comments | POST A COMMENT July 29, 2026 by Moderator R

I have several audiobook updates to share today, starting with some long-awaited and much-asked-about news about Beast Business, Augustine Montgomery and Diana Harrison’s novella from the Hidden Legacy series.

We have audio files! Woot!

Recordings have been completed, and the audiobook is now moving into the quality-control and editing stage. House Andrews are hoping for a release in August or early September, and the preorder link will be shared with the Horde as soon as it becomes available. Please keep an eye on the blog and newsletter for updates.

Jon Vertullo, known and beloved to us as George Camarine in the Graphic Audio version of the Innkeeper Chronicles, will voice Augustine Montgomery. Inëz Czymbor interprets Diana Harrison, and brings all distinctive flair that makes our animal mage Prime the perfect balance for Pancakes.

The audiobook of Beast Business will use dual narration, with each actor performing the chapters from their character’s point of view. Jon and Inëz will also divide the bonus material included at the end of the book. Jon will reprise George Camarine for the conversation at the Inn, while Inëz will voice Arabella in Arabella Saves the Day, A Misunderstanding and The Cool Aunt, as well as the Matilda POV ferret short, Marty.

House Andrews held back the casting announcement because of a very satisfying bit of audio synchronicity. The match between voice and role was so undeniably perfect at Jon’s audition that he will also be taking over as Augustine Montgomery in the Graphic Audio adaptation of Hidden Legacy, beginning with SAPPHIRE FLAMES, which is coming out next Monday.

This does not mean that Graphic Audio and the audiobooks independently produced by House Andrews are linked. They remain separate businesses making their own casting and production decisions, but … well, you’ll hear what I mean soon enough hehe. It was meant to be.

More audio news:

The preorder for Magic Claims, Wilmington Years 2, is now live on the GA website. We will be happy as clams (bdumtsss!) on release day, November 13. This will be a particularly special production and I cannot wait to hear the cinematic treatment of the magical Ice Age fauna, the First-on-First battle, and the Nursery Rhymes for Vampires in Nora Achrati’s interpretation.

E-I-E-I-A-O, indeed. I just know it will be an instant classic.

A reminder that the new release date for the GA version of Magic Tides, Wilmington Years 1, is now August 31st.

We shall feast on audio Pancakes and clams for the rest of the year. It’s good to be Horde!

Yum! That whole scene with Kate, the Wilmington Order, and Barrett in Magic Claims (aka clams) is so hilarious! Besides the “Ei, ei, oh”, we also get “Little Teapot”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Still can’t wait to hear Kate say “that puddle by your foot isn’t strawberry syrup” in Magic Tides.

Thanks Mod R for all the updates.

I can’t wait for “threat assessment.” One of my all-time favorite Kate comments.

Also, “Is Wilmington still standing?” from Hugh.

That whole conversation between Kate and Hugh is hilarious.

Woo hoo! Magic Clams!! and other cool things. But Magic Clams!

There needs to be a GA outtake with Nora reading the title as Magic Clams. 🙂

    Thanks, ModR.

Yay on everything! Just did my Graphic Audio pre-order. I had to stop and think about the actual title. “Is it Magic Claims? No, that doesn’t sound right. It is one letter different than clams. What other word can I make by adding a letter to clams?” I had to come back here to confirm, because I have never been able to move on from Magic Clams.😂

Will Beast Business be Audible exclusive or will it be available at other retailers like Libro . fm or the House Andrews website? I’m trying to use avenues that better support authors and indie bookstores when I can.

I’m not sure yet of the details because the Agency make the distribution arrangements. If there is an exclusivity period, it will be a temporary one, like with The Inheritance 🙂
