"buy my book", Blog, Just Life, Writing 44 Comments | POST A COMMENT August 18, 2026 by Ilona

First things first.

This Kingdom Lowers The Price

The ebook of This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me is $6.99 across most retailers. We are not sure if it’s a permanent or temporary reduction. It is very possible that someone at some point told us, but we have been writing and editing, and we are not sure which way is up. So we don’t know how long this will last, but if you’ve been waiting for the lower price, now is your chance.

Visit Rellas!

Now at a new, discounted price.

Okay, promo done.

Life Update

Things that I need to do down the road: get a sticker artist with lettering experience, put together art briefs for everyone else, finish incorporation paperwork for Kid 2’s game company, finish Maggie’s website, fix the two fish tanks – don’t even ask, etc.

Things I am doing: editing and vellum.

Everything has been shoved onto back burner until this edit gets finished. I have a desk that needs to be put together. I have an Epson 8550 Printer that should be taken out of the box and put onto that desk. I have a Romeo cutter that should be unboxed and added to said desk. I have the manual laminator… You get the picture.

This book is taking so much braining, that I was trying to respond to some emails and this is how I typed the word new: ny.

I did finally clean out the closet though. Today Gordon has a medical appointment, so we will be making our way to Austin in the afternoon. There are few roads I hate more than I-35.

I also indulged in some retail therapy. Look at this!

Halloween French Bulldog statue in a witch hat. Very cute.

This thing is available from Costco and I bought 2, one for us and one for Kid 1. It has been shipped. ::rubs hands together:: August isn’t too early for Halloween decorations, is it?

An Amazon promo sent to me said the price was one of the deals of the week, so it probably is a temporary price drop.

Ny is perfectly correct, if you are writing a Scandinavian language. As far as I know, ny means new in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. Your brain is just trying to teach you something new. 😀

It doesn’t matter which way you go, whether in the DFW or south, I-35 is the interstate of questionable engineering talent. It could also be called, “the bane of everyone’s existence”. That interstate is the pits to drive on!

Thank goodness Fort Worth has the Chisolm Trail toll road to avoid the pits that is 35W in Fort Worth. Goes all the way to Cleburne, TX. However, to go further south, you have to get on 35 (boo!).

Safe travels to Austin. Good luck with everything else. 🙂

Should be whether in the DFW area or south. I can’t think today either. I’m blaming it on the brutal hot temps up here.

Back to Maggie and company. I’m in the pink salt section (is it fresh?). 🤣🤣🤣🤣

August definitely is NOT too early…but I might be justifying because I have a skeleton that lives by my flagpole year round. His name is Fred (as per his concrete headstone) and he dresses up for each season.

I bought one for of the halloween doggies for Hubbys bonus Grama. She loves all animals but especially the Frenchies. She said it was too much then I said the great grandbaby saw it first and suggested it. Then she took it lovingly and quietly. Its already sitting on the porch.
Good luck on the appt and the to do list!

Woohoo! I read it from the library, now it’s time to buy my own copy!

I really appreciate that you guys make it available DRM free. It means I don’t have to buy it from amazon to read it on my kindle, and I would much rather support smaller bookstores.

    Not in any particular order:
    – not too early for Halloween decor – my ornaments for many holidays stay up all year round.
    – cleaning that closet – one of my theater friends calls that “in today’s housekeeping victories” in her FB posts.
    – incorporation paperwork for kid #2’s game company – mazel tov!!
    – editing & vellum – many good wishes for strength and lots of tea!!

Ny? As in, the Knights of Ny? (Rellasian spelling) Sounds apropos! Hmmm, I can picture a certain golden haired knight who wants Maggie’s shrubbery. The dark knight we all love, however, will not be surrendering his limbs to protect her!

Oh, and Tuna *knows* you control the inside atmosphere, therefore he blames you for not controlling the outside atmosphere- perfectly logical!

And it’s never too early to get ready for the holidays. I already have most of my Christmas decorations up! (Cough, cough, I never took them down). Last year I barely got them up in time so I left them up for a while to enjoy them…. Seems like there’s no point in putting them away now. It’s only 5 months away!
