    • If the real estate agent knows their market… it might even? I mean, there’s an interesting demographics question in there.

  18. I kept thinking how the rooms were not the normal square and then I came upon the 38th pic and thought no that’s not what I think it is. Upon a second look, yep, it was. Kinda laughed and keep looking at,the rest. Interesting. Not quite what I would want but it is unique.

  19. All I can think of is…the neighbors. When I house goes up for sale, the neighbors all want a peek inside. Boy are they getting an eye-full!
    I lived less than 20 miles from that house for most of my life, so I can very clearly picture the neighbors, in their khakis and golf shirts, showing up for the open house.

    And did they drag that same animal rug around the house to take the pictures, or did they like it so much they bought half a dozen of them?

    That’s close to my aunt & uncle’s old house. Nice older neighborhood. I know the neighbors were interesting, just didn’t realize they were THAT interesting!

  26. So, the kink is not my thing, but whatever.

    On a more pure design basis, it seems like an exercise in mixed metaphors? There’s a rather fussy style, with all the molding and wainscotting etc. etc. Nicely done if that’s your sort of thing. Some of the furniture fits with that (more or less…) though the styles vary quite a bit.

    But the kink accoutrements are all heavy, fairly plain to very plain wood. The skin rugs? (Admittedly, mixing the dungeon furnishings with the white carpets seems like a worse idea…) They would work in some place made out of darker, heavier things – and considering the more modern lines, I’d go more lodge that castle of manor house. But not in that monument to upper middle class fussiness. (And those carpets…!)

  28. Ummm…..so would and adult playroom raise the value of the home? Wow, don’t think I would want to be that open with what went on in that room if I wanted to sell the house. I think re-staging would be a good move. Do you even want to use someone else’s equipment if that is also your thing?

  30. No judgement for the consenting adults out there who know what they like, honestly. But… that cage under the bed will haunt me forever.

    That aside, I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. Cruising Redfin is always a fun pastime, but this one was truly special. ?

    • …oh. I’d actually just assumed that was for multiple attachment points, and thought it looked tacky. But I think you’re right.

    Somewhere, there is somebody that would love that place.
    Style (other than “comfortable”) is not my thing, but there is a strange dichotomy going on between the upstairs and the downstairs. His and hers?
    One does hope that the door to the basement locks…

  35. OMFG. Not saying their kink isn’t OK, but I don’t want to see it and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to buy it.

  39. They must have changed the listing. Only 39 photos now – all pretty generic Pic of basement is a weight room. Pic 31 is the dining room.

  40. The photos just disappeared but the house description said secluded house on lane with only 3 other houses. ??‍♀️ they choose well maybe it can be shown to someone else in their community especially if its going to come with the furniture.

  41. Errr..have they taken some pictures down? I only see 39 pictures and number 31 is of a rather interesting dining table in that the surface looks rough but I’m assuming it’s smooth!

    The weirdest thing I see is all the Beds stuck into corners and not against the walls – what a massive dust trap that must create!

  42. They must have taken some pictures down because there aren’t as many pics as mentioned, and honestly, I don’t see anything weird other the furniture that isn’t my style. I must be missing something somewhere…

    • “It can be converted back to a typical suburban basement.” I assume this is where the fun room we’ve missed the pictures of are located…

  43. Hm. I’m confused… mine stops at #39 and now #31 is of a kitchen and dining table… hmm!! sorry I missed the fun. Wonder if it upset Redfin’s standards or something, lol.

    Dammit.

  45. Heh, seems like the Redfin listing was modified and the some of photos removed and the home’s description edited. Good thing the original pics are still up elsewhere on Zillow.

  50. Am I looking at the right house? When I click the link, the house looks totally normal and there are only 39 pictures. 0_o
