Is the new thing a holiday serial?
Yes.
How long?
Not very long. Probably short story range.
Every Friday?
Every Friday.
Can we get it in audio/when will it be published/why is it not Innkeeper…
Here is tea and cookies. Please have some. I can’t have cookies because I have to watch my blood sugar so you can have mine.
But!
It has been a packed year for us on the professional front. We wrote many things. Some of them familiar, like Wilmington adventures. Some of them odd and off-brand, like Maggie. Dear BDH, we couldn’t have done it without your support. Your enthusiasm, your comments, and your humanity allowed us the luxury to work at our own pace on the projects of our choosing without the oversight of a publisher or fear that we won’t succeed.
Thank you so much for making our year wonderful. You are the best!

Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

You guys are the best!
Thank you so much for everything you write, post and share with your loyal BDH.
Merry Christmas and wishing you all a wonderful, magical, sugar controlled New Year.

Season’s Greetings and I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve! Thank you so much for a bit of your excellent writing to look forward to every Friday. The thing about reducing sweets is that your taste buds quickly adjust, it’s getting your brain to agree that’s difficult!
Lynne Davidson says
Thanks so much. Merry Christmas 🎄
Michelle M says
I love the complaint that you spoke about in the intro sentence “Why is it not Innkeeper?” And if it was Innkeeper then there would be a whole different set of questions and complaints. Have a fantastic holiday season, the BDH appreciates that you are stretching your creativity in a new direction. Hope you feel better in the new year and your next set of test results are less concerning.
Liz says
Thank you for the treat! Merry Christmas!
Big Mike says
Merry Christmas to House Andrews from the Shenandoah Valley! We have our 18 month old grandson visiting and he thoughtfully brought his parents. We’re all in bed and it’s only 9:30. That’s not how Christmas used to work when his Daddy and uncle were little boys!
Big Mike says
PS: Not trying to rush you or anything, take as much time as you need, but do you have any idea when Maggie will be available for pre-order? Did I miss a blog post that would have told me the answer?
Deborah Majo says
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for being awesome and brightening my life with your books!

Have a Blessed Christmas and a wonderful, successful, stress free New Year! I also cannot have any dang cookies, because I am in the same situation. That said, know that you are appreciated and that your stories give me respite from the chaos that frequently invades my life. Much love to you and yours!

Happy Holidays to House Andrews and the BDH.
The new Roman serial by House Andrews and Firebird Chronicles 5th book Trials of Conviction by TA White are the best holiday gift to me.

I dropped sugar and high carb foods about 3 years ago (A1c 6.5 to 4.9) mostly by keeping anything I can’t eat out of the house and cutting my holiday baking to nothing (cue complaints from the spouse). Holidays are the hardest, finding something I can eat more than a single bite of at a holiday buffet can be tough. “Moderation” does not work for me. At all.
Minna says
Thank you.
Your worlds are sooo interesting and give my weird “let’s not ever stop” brain a respite. So – thanks for keep on keeping doing this.
Happy Holidays!
PatC says
Oooh, goodie – thanks for all the treats! Hope Santa was very good to you and yours, and all Your treats were blood sugar friendly.

Hola House Andrews & Mod R,
I saw this story on CNN this afternoon. It’s about a strange power surge in the time of Nebuchadnezzar II. Interesting, no?

Happy, happy!
I don’t wish to saddle anyone with my holiday observations, so… just be happy!
I bought my husband a birthday t-shirt in January of 2021.
It reads:
:: I’ve decided I’m not old. I’m 21, plus shipping and handling ::
Well, I gotta tell ya… the shipping and handling is hell on a body.
A few years ago, he survived multiple cancer treatments and has a new, 7-year-old immune system, and, so far, is cancer-free.
I didn’t write this for sympathy. I wrote this because the man I love and admire greatly has survived yet another holiday season with me, his contradictory spouse of over 30 years.
I, however, am falling apart.
Instead of berating me about my weight, cholesterol, blood pressure and such, he turned to me just yesterday and asked, “Are you happy?”
I said, “With you, I’m always happy.”
“Then, that is enough. We’ll figure it out.” He gave me a kiss and went to work.
His point was and always has been, “Be happy.” No matter what is happening, no matter your health or situation, do your best to be a tiny bit happy.
So, I am… I am happy. Because I choose to be happy.
I’m happy with all the small things and the big things; and books, music and movies; and snowflakes and silver fir trees covered in decorations; and the unpredictable wildlife and annoying ground squirrels; and dogs and cats; and people who love me.
We’re not rich, or beautiful, or healthy… he doesn’t make me happy, other than he is happy with me.
We’re alive. Okay, barely alive.
We’ve had our good and bad years, months, days, hours… and he stuck with me. I stuck with him when he was at his worst. We strove to find the tiny bit of happy even in the worst.
So, my best holiday wish for you, ALL of YOU, is to be happy. Even for a tiny moment. A breath. A smile on a child’s face. A taste of food. A drink of water. A warm, sincere, heartfelt gift of good will.
Don’t give in to the worst. Please, find the happy and save all those happy moments in your mind, or a scrapbook, or a photo album, and remember them all the time.
Because your life doesn’t last forever.
Thank you.
Be happy.

I’ve been waiting for a Roman story for ages! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love complex “evil” characters and Roman is perfect. a good guy doing his best in a less than perfect situation.
LinB says
Thank you so much for all you do. Love your work and appreciate all the extras you give us
Charlie Morgan says
And you two are the best, too!
Jean Kulak says
Damn! No cookies? Mine would be wine! Sugar is very important to watch. Selfishly, all your readers want you and all your family to stay healthy. Seriously, if you never publish anything else, we would want all of you to be healthy. You have given all of us so much over the years,we can not thank you enough. Christmas can be very stressful, personally, I have been going non stop for about two weeks. What an absolute joy, and surprise when I opened an e mail and found Roman waiting for me. Thank you, thank you so much. You and your husband gave me such a beautiful gift! Gods bless, and Happy New Year! All my love Jean

I’m a bit late to this news due to life. 🙂 I’m so glad to hear that the BDH is providing more than crazy demands, nuts running every direction, and occasional opportunities for Gordon to say “Don’t make me come over there…” Thanks for all you do and all you share with us. It’s a warm, safe, happy place to hang out even if sometimes we’re a bit kooky.
Terry says
For someone that is exhausted, that is some fine writing. Thank you! I hope you have a Happy New Year, and wish you all the peace, health and prosperity. All of it! 🙂 Cheers from Calgary where we are enjoying an unseasonably warm Christmas

I will never forget your little snippets and extras getting me through the pandemic. And now these little Roman treats… I love having something to look forward to ❤️
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you for sharing your universe(s) with us. In any format…with a book, with audio and with GraphicAudio… so easy to make each re-reading seem incredibly fresh.
Hoping Christmas brought your wishes and the New Year is better than you all can even imagine.
