It should go up for preorders by mid-month.Β π You can’t find it, because it’s not up yet.
We are finishing it up, and I have now completely creeped myself out with the tunnel scene, so hey at least it’s creepy.
Creepy.
::knocks on wood three times and spits over left shoulder::
I will have nightmares tonight.
Randy says
Thanks for the heads up. Although I don’t do creepy, I don’t think It’ll be a problem with your books.
Ruth Ray says
Likewise
Jan_nl says
I can’t wait to add iron & Magic to my list of IA pre-orders. This will be a banner year for the BDH!
Hope it is an equally great year for the Author Lords!
Ms. Kim says
Tunnel scene? Hugh has a tunnel scene?
Teresa says
Castle has to have a tunnel according to all of the historical romances. Scary tunnel.
Tara says
For some reason I read this as “cattle has to have a tunnel.” In rural NE there are cattle access tunnels under the train trestles. Full of spiders, poop, bats, poop, snakes and…well, you get the idea. π Genuinely creepy to small children.
Regina says
I’m lighting a candle for you to insure sweet dreams.
Linda says
Hi Ilona
thank you for letting me know. π
Kath says
Hi guys
Thanks for the heads up – I’ve been lurking on Amazon since I found out the title and can now go back to lurking on your blog – in an uncreepy way of course π
Melissa says
It’s on my list of books to buy from Amazon, complete with date of release. I can’t wait! π π π π π π π
MMD says
Thanks for clarifying this. It was confusing me and I started to think I was searching for the wrong title ?ββοΈ
Lynn says
Me too. I was starting to think I had stepped into a different reality and needed crazy pills. Thank goodness Ilona Andrews posted this.
sarafina says
It’s time for the 2018 ALPHA SHOWDOWN CONTENDERS. IA has Conor Rogan, Kate Daniels and Curran Lennart in their list of 18 contestants with Mercy Thompson, Charles Cornick and Adam Hauptman from Patty Briggs. Voting starts May 29.
http://vampirebookclub.net/meet-your-2018-alpha-showdown-contenders/
DianaInCa says
Oh my that is a great list! The hard part is that I like eight of the sixteen names listed!
Julie says
You’re missing Sean and Arland (from Innkeeper) for IA on the Alpha contest.
Michael says
Err. How do you have have Charles but not the ultimate Alpha i.e. Bran
PamFan says
I had thr same thought – Bran is THE alpha
Lynn says
I suspect PamFan that Bran does not meet the established by person in authority position at that website definition of alpha.
Personally I think he does but he is very much a behind the scenes petson. Charles and Adam are the public faces. Bran and Samuel and one of my favorites, the rose cultivating Spaniard, are behind the scenes.
Cynthia says
Thanks Ilona for the info……
Tara says
I feel like we’re going to crash the Amazon site once the preorder goes up ?
Michelle says
Of course we are. I am convinced that in a few years MBA students will be writing thesis’ on how IA revolutionized the industry and changed the trajectory of genre fiction through outstanding social media use (blogging, Inkeeper).
Mimi says
Tunnels, really? Please tell me there are not spiders as well…
Chris Thom says
or rats or snakes or pathetic skeletons of people who didn’t make it out . . .
tylikcat says
Or stained and ripped 1960s era chairs, with bright orange upholstery.
Patricia Schlorke says
?? Or the orange curtains to match the ripped orange chairs. Yikes!
tylikcat says
Hey, are we crossing from adventure to full on horror?
(Also, FWIW, I was thinking of some of the tunnels under Yale, circa early 80s… the memories are pretty pleasant, really. Though I have a lot of other tunnel related memories.)
kommiesmom says
Thanks. I hate missing when something of yours goes up for pre-order, because I always go “How the heck did I miss THAT?” and feel stupid when I do find the listing. And I truly hate feeling stupid. (I often am stupid, I just don’t like it.)
I will look forward to the “creepy” scene. You do atmospheric so well.
Let’s be frank. I’m looking forward to the book, because you do it all so well.
Thank you for that, too.
Margaret says
Okay, how’s about a cover reveal to make the wait a bit easier….
I once had a dream I was trapped in a tunnel, turns out I’d pulled the blanket over my head.?
Prospero says
Celebrating my birthday by buying a gift for a friend. She’s getting her first proper sword. Needless to say, I won’t be doing the pre-order but I will be buying it when it comes out at my bookstore.
tylikcat says
Ooo! What is she getting?
Violeta says
Let the creepiness begin!
Larissa says
i just went to buy Iron and magic’s pre-order yesterday and couldn’t find it. Are you reading my mind? o.o
Vwiles says
Love your books, but I’m going to skip, skip, skip that scene π it’s probably very well written and that’s why I’m going to skip the creepiness. Then I can love the continue the rest of the book π Thanks for the heads up! If you get too scared you could say a prayer π it helps me at least
Liv W says
Thanks. May you only have sweet dreams. ?β
I am not ashamed to admit I skip horror anything because I get nightmares and need to leave the lights on all night for a minimum of 2 weeks. That said, as long as the tunnel scene doesn’t have roaches, anything with carapaces, or worms, it probably won’t give me the heebie derbies. ?
Liv W says
*jeebies. Heebie jeebies.
Keera says
Is it just ebook format? My 15 year old is reading KD and he says he has hopes for Hugh. Just seeing if we will have to buy two ebook copies or not. He has Kindle I have Nook.
Ilona says
Keera, read it first. It is not a PG 13 book. π
Keera says
I will, thanks for the heads up!
Robin De Tota says
I have both Nook and Kindle on my IPad and phone so you can both put the other app on those devices.
BelleBok says
Yesss… Castles and tunnels… And creepy! Can’t wait!
Thanks Ilona. It’s going to be a wow of a book! Also can’t wait for more HL series.
And… Anything you and Gordon choose to gift us with.
Christine says
Canβt wait, ok with spiders in the tunnel….???
Bill G says
Castles? Tunnels? Perhaps secret passages? Cool.
Patricia Schlorke says
Thank you for the update. Can’t wait to read the book. ?
Castles, tunnels, and Hugh…hmmm…no surprise. Reminds me of the whole panacea trip. Only this time Curran isn’t breaking Hugh’s back.
Patricia Schlorke says
For those of the Horde that has a Nook or Nook app: Diamond Fire is being offered for $ 1.99 on Barnes and Noble. I don’t know how long this will last, so if you haven’t pre-ordered, grab it.
FCina says
Splendid. Did so. Thank you.
D Lm A says
O K, now see, that’s just wrong!
wood, knocking & spitting, oooh, eeeek, no spiders
my heart, my heart; not bad enough I’m stressing publisher mayhem

D Lm A says

I mentioned how
I love your wickedly inciteful humor.
It’s distracting . . . hmmmn
tylikcat says
My apologies if this is a repeat, but, will there be an audible edition, and if so, will it be on the same schedule? (Also, what about the Hidden Legacy Novella?)
(I will totally take the time to read this with my actual eyeballs if I need to, but my schedule might hate me for it.)
Joanne says
Iβm betting itβs going to fly to the top of the Kindle bestseller list! π especially if this has the cover that was shown on Goodreads!
So excited to read this tunnel scene and the entire book!!!
wont says
I am thrilled to bits about this little taste of Hugh’s book. I will be checking on a regular basis for pre-order availability.
Thanks, Ilona
DianaInCa says
Thanks for the update! Hope your sleep went well
jewelwing says
So is this purely an ebook, or will it exist in a dead tree edition? I do have a Nook, thank God.
Tamara says
I have the 15th booked in my calendar to start crashing Amazon π
K C Hulsman says
Wait, is Iron, or Magic the one with creepy tunnel scene?
Midge says
I appreciate you letting us know when it is available for pre-order because I’ll jump right on it! I can’t wait – know it will be fantastic and now you have me looking forward to the creepy scene! π
Tiger Lily says
Cannot wait for the creepy!
Marnie says
