We have never before hit #8 overall on kind. #18? Yes. But no #8. That is a lot of copies. A lot.

Me last night, sending email to BFF Jeanine, “The power of Amazon.”

Me, this morning after the phone call with our agent: Hey, honey?

Gordon: Yes?

Me: Apparently, it’s not Amazon that put us to #8. They haven’t really pushed it yet. The cover is still not up. So it’s not Amazon. It’s BDH.

You are so awesome. A ten year break before books and it’s #8.

Some things from Mod R’s list of questions.

Is Fated Blades the Release Schedule “novella to be named this fall”? Yes, release schedule updated.

Is the paperback release really in February 2022? Yes, as of now. It may change, it may not. Because the print is kind of a last minute addition, things are a bit in the air.

On Amazon India it does not appear in the listings when searched for Fated Blades Ilona Andrews. Is this still a thing? Can anyone confirm that it’s a thing and if it is, please tell me and I will get it fixed.

How is secare pronounced? First pronunciation in Latin and Spanish. Not sure who ScottScheule is channeling there but you don’t need to roll your R that much. The meaning of the word is here.

When the audio appears, will it be as a pre-order or straight up buy link? I do not know. I know that every effort will be made for simultaneous release with the ebook.

Will it preclude a collector edition coming out eventually with more of Louisa’s art? What if it sells really well, will the Amazon publishers consider it then? But what if it sells REALLY really well? Eeehhh… I don’t know. Let me ask.

Is it better to buy or KU? Whatever is your favorite. We get paid in both cases. 🙂

What are the previous books in the series? Silent Blade and Silver Shark. They are available separately or as a bundled edition.

Are Kid 1 and bf home safe? Yes, thank you for asking. They ended up staying a couple of extra days and then Kid 1 and Kid 2 had a spectacular fight over the phone on Kid’1 way back over nothing, which I refused to referee since I was trying to get the Fated Blades post up. ::sigh:: Parenting. Not for the faint of heart. They are good now.

Kid 1 brought me candy from South Padre. 🙂

    Siblings are humans and will fight together til the day they die. What I find amazing are the ones in my family who are not speaking to each other but when one ends up in hospital then other is right there harassing the doctors to heal the sick one. Family ????.

  6. Amazon is negatively pushing you …… it took me 3 tries to find you and they have it up with no cover so it’s all grey and doesn’t catch your eye at all

    Also On The Edge is on sale for 1.99 on Amazon. I bought it and am rereading it. The only IA series I haven’t reread multiple times.

  9. You keep saying the books are over ten years apart so that impacts readership, but Im here to inform you this is correct but also sort of incorrect.

    I reread your kinsmen books more than I do any other series, in fact, I just did another reread of Silent Blade last week. I love Kate Daniels and the Baylors, but if I try to reread one book or one part, I get sucked down the rabbit hole and don’t come up until ALL THE BOOKS are reread. Kinsmen are beautiful, in plot and style and writing, and they have the advantage of being short and sweet. Same universe, but I’m not automatically mentally bound to read the other ones because the story is over.

    This is just to say, for you it’s been 10 years, but I think for a lot of us it’s been just a little bit since our last read through and it’s still as fresh and gorgeous as ever.

    I, of course, immediately ordered both the Kindle eBook and the printversion, as soon as I realized that it was up but still without a cover, and look forward to reading (Kindle) and collecting it (print)!

  19. That doesn’t even count people like me who hate to pre-order. Like, seriously, you expect me to know how much money I’ll have months from now on a specific day in my checking account? That’s crazy cakes!! I like to live dangerously but not that dangerously. But I will buy it! Especially after that last snippet ????

  20. Silver shark is my all time favorite novella. I have waited 10 years for another novella in that world. Of course I’m going to preorder it and I subscribe to KU also but this one I want in my ebook collection.

  22. I just read the other 2 in the bundle from 2018. Love them! If you decide to do more in this world I wouldn’t say no reading them. They are awesome! Soo pre-ordering Fated Blade!

  26. I bought an Amazon gift card to pay for my preorder when I ordered it.

    I will NOT remember come November I have an outstanding debit due.
    Thanksgiving, Christmas, food to buy gifts to get traveling ( gas/ train) lodging … it’s the time of year you’re constantly paying out …
    As a courtesy to you, they croon, they won’t charge your card till you get it. Is It Me! There is NO Reminder anywhere!

    Why stress, I bought the book ( pre order) when the funds were there When this type of situation first bit my butt over at B&N, I preordered in May, got the book in November, had done ALL my holiday bookings cooking rentals… and got hit with 6 NSF (3 bank/3 suppliers) before put a hold on my account. BALL OF CONFUSION
    It was all about when things were posted.
    All I’m saying is B&N will let you use a gift card to pay for a preorder WHEN you order. Can anyone please help me bring thisto Amazon’s attention. CAUSE I will not remember a month from now let alone six.

    I want it, I ordered it, I pay for it, they deliver it, what a concept!!!!
    And I don’t care what anyone says

  28. That is so cool! I’m thrilled for you, but not surprised. Pretty much all of us have been on tenterhooks waiting and when you announced the preorder link, well I just was not alone in pouncing on it. Love the count down widget! I put it into my calendar with alerts, but that’s much more fun.

  31. For a member of the BDH, buying your book is a no-brainer, since we love your writing????!

    I just pre-ordered it on Amazon.de (I had to search for it specifically, so no Amazon putting it in my recommendations) and here in Germany, you made it #1 in „Romance (foreign languages)“ and „Romantic Fantasy (English)“ and #3 in „Science Fiction (English)“. … Aaand #341 overall – which is huge for a book not written in German and only available on pre-order!
    But then, I wasn’t surprised ????

    I am so happy that I can treat myself an unexpected IA story, so thanks for that ????

  33. I would love to pre-order an ebook, but I read on my Kobo. Last I checked the Kindle books are a Mobi file and I don’t think that’s compatible. I will either wait for print or audio. Likely both like I have with most of your other books LOL.
    Thank you for your hard work and for the short story I’m already excited.

  34. In this case, it’s not us it’s you. The snippet was fantastic. I’ve waited almost twenty years for a sci-fi with romance elements where both main characters are on equal footing. I know they usually are through trade offs,but these two are absolute equals.

  38. Congratulations! On the book pre-order release stats AND sustained parenting! Mine are a tween and a teen and I had a vision, perhaps deluded, of them being wonderful friends in their early 20s. Good to know the sibling thing still happens at that age, but at least you don’t need to referee and teach emotional intelligence!

    And yes, the BDH buy hard! I’m a KU subscriber but had to buy Fated Blades outright. How can I not have your full collection available to me at all times?

  39. Please tell me that i can buy Fated Blades also on Kobo!
    Im in Switzerland, when i started
    to buy ur books in English, i could not buy whole series on amazon.de Kate series started with book 4, 1-3 where not available in English. Other series like Faith Hunter ect also not. Amazon let me not buy it on us only de. So i switched to Kobo wich had no restriction. All ur books and over 1k more are on Kobo. So please tell me i can buy it also on Kobo!

    • Same here. Amazon.de is realy limited in English books. When a series is not extremly popupal u can buy it maby at book 5 or just the last 2 in a serie in English. Somtimes they add it years later or never, solo books often not at all. U can buy it only in German. I have also all my English book on Kobo. I really hope u sell it there too.

        Fated Blades will not be available for purchase on Kobo, it is published in collaboration with Amazon :).   45. I’ve been hemming and hawing about getting a KU subscription but I need to support my favorite Author lord’s so I signed up and got an audible subscription!
