August 23, 2022 is a double release for us. RUBY FEVER and the Tapas Clean Sweep adaptation will both be released on August 23, 2022. This never happened before.

There will be no in-person signings for several reasons. We are still a bit wary of pandemic, as we now have Monkeypox in our county, there are numerous travel delays, and our time is better spent writing Sweep of the Heart so we can keep up with FrInnDay. Just as an aside, if we ever did something else, like an Arabella short story, on Fridays, would it still be FrInnDay?

We are not going to see you in person but we are doing a large virtual tour. Now we are going to turn the blog over to Mod R.

There will be the usual book discussion and spoiler post available on release day, please try to not comment spoilers until then on the blog- you can send your early questions to Mod R at modr@ilona-andrews.com.

Hi, Mod R here. A few clarifications before we get to the schedule:

ZOOM

Zoom is a video-conferencing software, which you can sign up for here: ZOOM (it is free). You do not need a camera or microphone as a guest, only us and the moderators will be on video. Zoom is a good program but it’s not meant to host very large gatherings, so the stops on our tour will ask you to please register in advance.

Reddit

Reddit is a discussion website. Posts are organized by subject into user-created forum boards called “communities” or “subreddits”. We will be doing an AMA (ask me anything) hosted by the r/romancebooks subreddit, lasting 2 hours. You will need to have a Reddit account if you wish to ask questions in the AMA post, but you can read the comments on the forum without one. We will post the direct link to the relevant thread closer to the date.

Signed Copies

If you would like to own a signed copy of Ruby Fever for your collection (and support an independent bookstore in the process) you can order through the Blue Willow Bookshop. If you have any questions or want to enquire about international delivery, please contact Cathy directly at cathy@bluewillowbookshop.com . Please also contact them first if you are local and want to go hunt for your early copy, in order to avoid disappointment. NOTE: “Signed book” in this case means a book with a signed bookplate sticker. Personalization is unfortunately not possible, as the bookplates are sent in advance to avoid delays in shipping.

    Also, it would be FrArabella Day (rhymes with Tara-bella)… Wait… is this a hint of something? A possible Arabella serial????????? ????????????????????

    Will some /any of these events be recorded and posted on the blog? I’m having a really weird next couple of weeks and I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to any.

    • I know Blue Willow will be posting the August 24th Q&A on their YouTube channel and I’ll do my best to get the August 27 Zoom recorded, edited and transcripted for the blog ????.

      Houston library are live-streaming so it will probably be on their Fb account after that (I believe livestreams are usually saved on Fb?).

      Not sure about the panel on the 20th, sorry.

  20. Having an Arabella story on FrInnDay would be great! Although I would refer to it as FAraDay and would get quite a charge out of it.

  21. I don’t know where to fit this comment, but how about Tamara Taylor to play Catalina (she played Camille Saroyan on Bones). That sensitive but tough and really smart character is who I see as Catalina.

  27. Okay, so is this a testing the waters situation for the House IA multiverse? Arabella at Gertrude Hunt Inn? For future FrInnDays???????????????????????????????????????????????? Because yes! Like what if Arabella had a run-in with a summoner mage and something messed up and the beast side of her was banished along with the summoned creatures into the big bad universe where the new gate at Gertrude Hunt recognized an adventurer in need and decided to let Arabella in???? {Yes I know how kooky this sounds but come on, how cool would a true IA multiverse be? It would grind all other multiverses into dust}

    • ???? There is no way to get the BDH let go of the multiverse.

      I think the only thing Arabella and the Inn might have in common is the Friday spot ????

      • One way….Arabella calls Catalina over in a ‘deleted scene’ to ask whether the newest ‘Innkeeper Post’ has been published yet…

    No, Ilona Andrews regarding your question about Fridays: I don’t care if snippet on Friday is an Arabella snippet or Innkeeper or some other tale. Either way Titan is going to get told a story while his belly is rubbed. Spoiled rotten knucklehead pup and his human Friday unwinding de-stress routine. ????

  33. I think I can only make one of those maybe 2 if I listen while Im working. But thank you for making time to do a few virtuals.
    We are in the middle of our very last military move. Most of those days I will either moving to the hotel or driving to Nj to my Mother in laws house, and then house hunting or working. But Im going to try my best to squeeze in some time!

  34. I mean, the Friday Innkeeper always makes me grin… so would any other novels written in that manner to be honest! It is always such a blast and such a unique way to experience such lovely writing!

  36. Yay! I pre-ordered the ebook of RUBY FEVER then found out Sunday that some early irds were appearing in some B&N store. Picked up a copy yesterday. Woo hoo!!! Adore, adore, adore.

    Still hoping for a trilogy for Arabella, the a big make-it-10-books finale with the whole crew. Maybe???

    • I tried my local B&N and the clerk was pretty snippy about “not before the release date”. This was the first time I’ve had someone be less than fabulous at B&N. In two decades of shopping there I guess that’s really good!

      • Oh, sorry you had a bad experience! The soft release means that there are no penalties associated with selling it early, but it is still at the bookstore’s latitude if they want to do so. I can imagine the Horde has inquired …*ahem* persistently since the the weekend.

    But if we HAD to give it a name?

    To borrow a quote from Orro, I vote that we all yell “FIRE!” with great enthusiasm and call them “FIREday” posts.

  39. I propose it transition from FrInnDays to FrAHDays (easier to pronounce than FrHADays, though now that I’ve typed it out, I don’t mind it so much ????)

  40. Selfishly, I love Innkeeper and hate to give away its spot. I read everything you put out but am a little less excited about Hidden Legacy. However, it’s your business and you get to do as you creatively wish. Thanks for asking us, you are always so thoughtful.

  50. Echoing the Thanks of other international fans for the wide ranging tour – sounds like fun!

    Equally, anything you choose to share with us on a Friday, we’ll be grateful for (or at least should be!) – even if you wanted to do a series of One Shots to get through the backlog of BDH demands for X with Y doing Z activity… but an Arabella serial would be excellent!

  53. Will the different virtual events be available afterwards?

    I have a hard time with accents and sometimes need to slow recorded speech a bit as well as increase volume and decrease other in-room sounds.

    I have adjustable hearing aids that allow the audio to go right into my ears and at same time lower outside sounds like fans, fire trucks etc.

  55. Any chance of getting a signed bookplate through other means if we have already purchased through another vendor? I’ve seen some authors sell bookplates on Etsy, is that an option? I’d love to have one for all my books.

  63. Thanks for Ruby Fever soft launch. Snagged 1 of 3 copies on shelf at B&N near Perimeter Mall in Atlanta! Still think it odd they put Hidden Legacy in Romance. But now I can devour this weekend vs sneak peeks during work on Tuesday!!

  67. My daughter and i have been waiting and watching the countdown but now cant seem to but it on our Kobo store (Australia) even though we pre rdered it there.
