So I’ve been living under a holiday rock. The tree is still up. Yes, I know, but it’s pretty. I will take it down, leave me alone.
Anyway, I just now saw this.
I think Elizabeth Wheatley is in Austin and I so owe her a lunch and a coffee. Thank you for making my day! You can find Elizabeth’s books at her online home, at https://elisabethwheatley.com/.

Omg hilarious!
Sarah says
Woah. Is this where I am supposed to go “First”???
Ilona says
Certified!
Stephanie says
She has mentioned the Kate Daniels series in quite a few video posts recently!
Joy says
The BDH would totally get Book Goblin, she is a kindred spirit! I get updates whenever a new Book Goblin TikTok comes out.
Kalynx says
Book Goblin had good Christmas
nancy says
Love the book goblin. Now, I have to read her books. They sound interesting. (while waiting for our favorite author’s next book of course)
Proud Bookworm says
I also love the Book Goblin videos! So, I read EW’s first book, Daindreth’s Assasin. It is a slow burn and it reads a bit like a YA. I liked it enough that I will be reading book 2 once I get through a bit more of my TBR.
spring says
I love her instagram posts where Book Goblin makes occasional appearances, and where different fantasy and romance genres (all played by her) have the most fascinating conversations.
Maia says
yes! they are hilarious!
Stephanie Johnson says
I love the Book Goblin!
Patricia Schlorke says
Maybe she’s part of the Book Devouring Horde and doesn’t realize it. 😀
laj says
Very sweet!
Jenn says
Book Goblin is one of us!!! lol 😂
Also I read all her Daindreth’s assassin series — it’s great.
The Kate faction of BDH will especially like it.
Steph says
I second this!
Mary Cruickshank-Peed says
I love the Book Goblin videos, they always make me laugh. i bought the first book in her series just on the basis of how clever her videos are. so funny.
Danita Ewing says
She is both funny and someone who does her research. Love her blogs and Book Goblin is my sister from another mother ❤️

Cerulean says
I adore book goblin! I have two book goblin mugs and a tank top. I enjoyed her book Daindreth’s Assassin, and I have the second book on my Nook.
Michelle M says
Hi, take down your tree when YOU feel like. It’s your space and you are enjoying how the tree makes you feel. I was not able to put my tree up last year so I appreciate everyone who has time and energy to do so and think they should enjoy the result of their efforts for as long as they want to.
Becky says
Dearest House Andrews,
My tree and all other decorations are also still up, so you are not alone. It is pretty and makes me happy.
I love Book Goblin!
Ericka Jayne Stutler says
i love her book goblin. it’s like she’s channeling my inner dialog.
Jocelyn says
Her content is pretty much all delightful! We love Book Goblin over here (though the five year old forgets and calls her “Library Goblin”…can you tell where we get a lot of our books?) and her Romance Characters sketches are also hilarious. The informative videos are great in a different way…and her books are good reading, too!
Kiki Sidira says
Yes! The Book Goblin! We looooove the Book Goblin 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Stacy Mcknight says
She has favorably mentioned you/your books several times. I love her reels! The Book Goblin is genius! Bookhalla as well lol! I have some of her books in my TBR and if I quit rereading I might get to them .
Elizabeth Weishaupl says
I follow the book goblin. She is very Me. She appreciates plane rides because there is uninterrupted reading time! So do I! And she is a fan!
Tink says
I say leave the tree up and change the lights and decorations for each season or upcoming holiday. 😉 I think you could have a lot of fun with Halloween decorations.
Or get a real tree in a pot so you have that fresh pine scent all year long. Then after a year or two when the tree is too big for the house or it’s outgrowing the pot, you plant it outside and get a new tree in a pot. Although I don’t know how long a pine tree would last in Texas.
kommiesmom says
Texas grows pine trees rather well – the piney woods of the southeast extend well into Texas – though the area that HA lives in is a bit dry for them. Don’t worry about the (possible) tree. It will be fine if it gets a little extra water until it’s established.
Breann says
I second the tree suggestion. If it makes you happy, leave it. If you want to change the decorations seasonally, then bonus!
If something makes you happy and doesn’t hurt others, let yourself enjoy it, whatever and whenever it is. (As long as it isn’t causing Gordon stress to have it there, that might need a compromise.)
We all need all the joy in life that we can get. 🤗
Starling says
Gordon could choose a season (perhaps summer!) to do the tree as superheros or other types of collectibles 😃🤠🥸 🙈🙉🙊
Breann says
You are brilliant! 🤩
Keera says
I love Book goblin, they are hilarious ! The size of book ten bothered me too, but its laying horizontally under the other books.
My trees and Christmas village, now renamed Winter village is still up. I also left my 6 foot snowman out but put away the other Christmasy outdoor decor stuff. I’m pushing for a February take down when there is a little more light outside.
Melissa says
My tree is still up. I didn’t get it decorated until Christmas Eve and I wanted time to enjoy it. I’ll take it down around February 1st.
Sondra says
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Maia says
I think in the Book Devouring Horde we are all a bit book goblins, I love her videos.
Nadia says
omg I saw it and it was so awesome 🙂
njb says
Ok that was cute! Thanks for sharing, made my day, too! Gotta love those stabby magical detective ladies and sexy lion shifters, but I think I love the book goblin too🤣
Cheryl M says
I love the Book Goblin. The most recent I saw was her trying to get Elizabeth to take her on a flight to Singapore then on to New York so she could have 28 hours of uninterrupted reading time.
Anita says
I really enjoyed Elizabeth’s Daindreth’s Assassin series. I started the Sandsea series, but my book-buying-budget is limited right now. I just saw she released another book in the Daindreth’s series so I had to purchase that. I wish she participated in the Kindle Unlimited program, but I understand it doesn’t make sense for a lot of authors to do that. So I purchase when I can.
Breann says
You might see if you’re local library participates in an online lending library. Mine uses Bridges and it’s a very, very tiny library. It lets you borrow e-books using your library card. I buy favorites that I’ll re-read or want to keep and borrow the rest. 🤗
Breann says
Ack! A typo! *your*
I’m blaming the phone, but I should’ve double checked. I saw it right after hitting post comment. 🤦♀️
Amy says
I love Book Goblin!! I follow here a lot. As soon as I saw her mention my favorite series I got excited to see it!

I follow Elisabeth Wheatley and I got so excited when I saw this! I was going to post and say “you just discovered my favourite authors!” but that felt rude because I do like her books too, so I didn’t…
Sarah says
Omg! That’s hilarious
I am *also* slightly annoyed by book 10 being taller book goblin!
Jessica Meditz says
I was CACKLING when I saw this hit my feed the other day 😂
worlds colliding is the best, haha
Leena says
She is awesome!! You guys are awesome!! I’m always happy when favorite authors’ worlds collide 😊♥️
Susan J says
Her Instagram videos are so fun and worthwhile. I recommend all of them, not just Book Goblin! And thanks again to Ilona, because she was the first person to introduce me to this fun series.
Liesl says
Elizabeth Wheatley is an author I enjoy. And yes, she has spoken about Ilona Andrews books before. If you go to Youtube and do a search for ‘book goblin’ you will find many enjoyable videos. I don’t do tiktok or instagram. She also does amusing posts where she plays various romantic genres having discussions. Historical vs Modern vs Paranormal, etc.
I discovered her while looking for something to read between new books from HA.
Jenn H says
I saw when she posted it and I screamed. Book Goblin has great taste. For Bookhalla!
Raye Varney says
I adore Book Goblin! And Elizabeth’s books!
Nicole says
I love Book Goblin! I haven’t read her books yet (I’ve put myself on a new book ban until Feb), but they’re on the TBR!!!
Lisa says
❤️ Book Goblin … sweet ! Book goblin fits right in with the BDH!!!
My tree is down …but half sized because of male dog . Have to raise tree or leg raised …good grief !
If it’s pretty and makes you happy you can keep it up as long as you rotate decorations .
Hearts for Valentine’s Day and Eggs,Bunnies, And Angels for Easter …etc.
Kelticat says
I’m kind of surprised that Book Goblin and Bookhalla hasn’t come up before. I think my favorite one was “100 pages left.”
Kiri Guyaz says
My 🎄 tree is still up too. It makes me joy-full! Plus, been sick and unable to breathe since Dec. 16, and finally today, getting shorter and shorter of breath, got diagnosed in ER with Mycoplasma pneumonia, which x-rays missed, CT scan caught. So got lots of actually be helpful meds, and will sleep for two days straight! This made me laugh, as did the Fool snippet! Ilona and Gordon, thank you so much for giving me something to hold onto!💜💜💜
Elisabeth Wheatley says
OMG FEATURED ON THIS BLOG TWICE I MAY PASS AWAY.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Breann says
You should take her offer of lunch up or the book goblin might never forgive you! And then the rest of the BDH can live vicariously through you. 😁
Really enjoy your work! 😊
Julia S says
LOL Book goblin is very relatable
Suzi says
Book Goblin is fantastic. I have followed her stuff for a while now.

Leigh-Ayn says

Claudia says
Thanks for the laugh! When I go for a walk, it makes me happy to see Christmas decorations still up.
I will check out Book Goblin’s offerings, because she clearly has a great sense of humour!
Omar Mtz says
My christmas tree is still up too.
Ami says
Once upon a time I always put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving and took it down New Years Day. This year I set a new record by not getting it up until like 2 weeks before Christmas, so I don’t feel bad about the fact its still up….. The overwhelm was a lot and I was sick for a couple weeks after Christmas.
Michael Hall says
So I ‘m re reading the KD series and I ran into a problem that I had no way of knowing that it WAS a problem until after reading the books and understanding how Kate’s world works. It’s a minor thing really, Kate is at home in Savannah, and a vampire visits her there piloted by Ghastek. The problem? Savannah is 240 miles from Atlanta, and my knowledge of vampires and navigating them is that the range of a navigator is a LOT less than 240 miles. So I am regretfully confused. I suppose I can put it down to artistic license, but I wouldn’t take it amiss if someone had a better answer than that. Yes, Mod R I’m thinking of you.
