Audio: Hillary and James have the file and will record the book sometime in Early September, which means we will be seeing it maybe in October. We just finished pronunciation guides, and if you speak Japanese, we would love your help, because Gordon’s time in Utsunomiya was many years ago and he is a little rusty.
We just handed off the store support messages to our regular customer service specialist. She was not available before but she just finished her summer semester at college. She went through the customer issue emails at record speed, not realizing that I was still handling them on my end. (I feel like Ada – it’s good to be young.) Yes. But not for a bit. This Kingdom sequel comes first.
Romance and spice in the sequel?
Yes. She threatened him and he liked it. Of course, there will be romance.
Credit to the artist?
Guys, Candice is credited in the usual place artists are credited in the ebook.
People who hire artists check the copyright page. Moving the link to her anywhere else will lessen her exposure.
What’s next?
Next we are working on Maggie 2. But, don’t go away, because we are going to try to have fun stuff available to you. We have a few deleted scenes and short fragments that we need to finish and develop into short stories and more inn-terviews at Gertrude Hunt.
Will this hit NYT?
Not a chance in hell. NYT is heavily weighted toward print books. USAT used to track ebooks, but they now changed the way they are compiling their list, so I wouldn’t expect us to hit there at all.
We don’t care. We are already happy as we can be.
This was an intense path to publication with sudden editing issues, which I won’t discuss here, and we worked so hard, and this is amazing.

Hey, I was wondering, if there is any way to send my new neighbor into a breach to get rid of her. She bought the house across the street one month ago and has already caused such ruckus about parked cars around the neighborhood.
She has everyone up in arms…. I have never seen the Sheriffs in my neighborhood so much as I have in the last two weeks.

I love that it is #1 on Kindle even though I imagine that a considerable number of people (like me) who would normally buy it on kindle bought it direct from your store this time because we want to give all our money to you rather than giving some of it to Jeff Bezos. Was very happy to see that Book Funnel works smoothly, with it appearing in my kindle app looking identical to all my other IA kindle books (once you realize that you have to rename the file and change the author to “Andrews, Ilona” so that kindle will sort it properly).
I bought it directly through your store also. But then I had it sent to the kindle app on my tablet. I don’t know if that counted towards your numbers, but if not, your kindle ranking is all the more impressive!

I haven’t read all the proposed cat names yet but I vote for something like David Lambert (out of a hat). Then Leo can hide him in his list of employees and put him on the payroll.
However, I assume the cat knows his own name. We just haven’t heard it yet.

Elias mentions that he doesn’t much like cats when he picks up Ada’s kids so I think the cats name should be “Cat”🐈⬛ 🐈⬛
I was thinking the same thing. Except “That Darn Cat” = DC. (Anyone remember the movie. Think it had Hailey Mills and Dean Jones.
Remember it well (a fave of my young self), and you got the casting correct.
Looking it up they did a remake in 1997 (which I missed) and recast Dean in another leading role, and Christina Ricci in the Hailey Mills spot.
The remake fared…poorly.
It’s an absolutely wonderful book, and you deserve to be number one! We, of course, wanted to make sure that happened! I’m embarrassed to admit that I bought it twice. I bought it first from your bookstore. But then I felt left out of the drive to get you to number one on Amazon, so I had to buy it again there. 😊🤣 I may have been a teeny bit excited.

I’m not surprised at all! It’s a terrific story, and I cannot wait to read more of it. I started it Monday night. I was already anxious about a bunch of unrelated things and started getting really anxious about the first big cave scene even though I’d read it before and knew what would happen! I thought: If I keep reading this, I’ll never be able to sleep. So I finished it yesterday during daylight hours, lol.

This is going to be a very silly suggestion and there are so many comments that I doubt people are even reading this far down, but here goes.
Because the cat was trapped in a cave, I’m going to suggest “Plato’s Allegory” as the full name and “Gory” for short. Just because it would make me laugh to see that in a book.

Hope you see this Mod R. The House of Andrews may want to update their “About the Author” blurb going forward. I got to the last page of Inheritance and read “They also write the Innkeeper Chronicles series, which they post as a free weekly serial.” I am think that is no longer true due to Ilona’s highly fertile, creative mind developing new mythos and storylines.

I’ve scrolled through a ton of excellent kitty suggestions. However, in thinking about famous duos that might be odd (although the Battlecat suggestion was stellar), I propose the following: Sam – could be Samwise, or Samantha, therefore works for both sexes. If we’re thinking along the lines of an odd couple, then I go for Elias and Felix or Elias and Oscar, depending on who the neat one is. And I just really dated myself there hehehe.

But also b/c if they are going to, as someone suggested, put a new “person” on the payroll and do that to keep her undercover as much as possible. I also like Nyx, Sekhmet and if kitty is a boy, Jim or Steve for the same reason.
Because the other cat was described as having rosettes, I think
+1 Rosie or Rosette would be great and could still be used as a “cover” name for the employee roster.

There are a lot of wonderful suggestions in the comments, but the names that I liked best are R.I.P. for rest-in-pieces (spelling chosen for the pun, sorry), all the gods/goddesses names (depending on kitty gender), the last proposition before I wrote this “yes that’s my dog” as usually cats don’t seem to like Elias… I also think “Jim” would be hilarious but very much an in-joke for the BDH.
Whatever names end up in the poll, the choice will be very difficult ! Can we vote multiple times ?
And of course, congrats on #1. Though I really don’t understand why anyone should be surprised…

Ada is a badass woman, because she is a mum, she is in her 40s (this is so rare in book heroines!), and she never wanted to start a fight but she will finish it! This could be a whole saga seeing as we have a big intergalactic bad in the Tsuun, honestly it could be a movie series 😄
