Sadly it always re-routes me to UK site even though I tried through a private TOR browser, using a gmail account, and selecting US when I tried to join so the book does not show up. ARGH. I think I will need to wait as I can’t see it to request it – a little bit devastated – shame not using Netgalley, I have some success on that asking for ARCs 🙁
And the crowd goes wild!! Barnes and Noble has it up too!

Totally random, my front garden is doing nicely but the weeds in my basement window wells are rampant with weeds. 🤨 no big deal one thinks…unless one is hindered by healing from eye surgery & has decidedly entertaining depth perception.
Your health is more important than weeds! I find as I grow older that it is better to just trowel any weeds in my tiny veggie beds under or pull them when they are big enough to grab. Sometimes if you have family with teens or tweens they can be bribed to do gardening chores. I hope your healing process goes well and you stay safe!

Edelweiss is an ARC platform like NetGalley 🙂 , where you can request and be approved for the advance copies of books with future release dates. Technically, Edelweiss is more geared towards librarians, booksellers accounts etc, while NetGalley caters to book bloggers, reviewers, Readlandia influencers, but it’s not a rigid rule.

Just a general kinda query. I had found the book on Kobo and saved to my wishlist to purchase when I could but now say’s it’s unavailable in New Zealand. Wondered if that meant if the rights for our region were still being looked at?

Hi Emma,
I will enquire specifically, but the answer is likely linked to this announcement earlier this week: https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/this-kingdom-finds-home-in-the-uk/ which celebrated that Tor UK bought the rights for This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me and will have a separate edition for the UK and Commonwealth.
The links for the US edition will be replaced for the Tor UK edition in these regions and any preorders cancelled and reimbursed where applicable (generally, retailers don’t take the money until the product is shipped).
I believe it’s just a question of the system processing the new edition to replace the US version. The acquisition was only made official a few days ago 🙂

There are two entries on Edelweiss for the title. Make sure you scroll down to the second entry that has the ARC listed.

Can I just say that I am very excited about the sprayed edges? I will admit to wanting to get the hardcover, then borrowing an eBook from the library so that I just admire said hardcover.
Mod R, if we preorder the hardback now are there going to be any other options that we should wait for instead? Like an even more deluxe edition than the regular sprayed edges? Or a special box type thing? I mean, I already did the preoder, so I should’ve asked first, but you know us, order first, ask questions later. 😄

I went to the website and it says the book is a hardcover. Will this book be released in hardcover first and then go to paperback later? I am not quite sure what Edelweiss is but I am excited to see the book is getting closer to being able to be bought. Have a wonderful day everyone

UK pre-orders – I was just checking my pre-order (in case of a terrible curse making it disappear or brain fog having happened) and apparently Amazon never cancelled my original pre-order from before the Tor rights purchase.
I just assumed it would happen automatically when the blog warning was posted and I immediately pre-ordered the Tor one even though mine wasn’t cancelled at that point. But it was still there today. No idea what would have happened next year but I had to personally cancel it myself just now.
I don’t know if this was just mine for some reason or will be the same for others as well.

How do you find out if you get a book–they must email you? How long does it take to find out?!
You get an email if your request is approved. How long it takes depends on the publisher. Some have specific days they approve requests. My requests typically get approved in a few days to a week or so.

Wow! Many years ago, I was a bookseller. Loved that job so much. Available titles came to us on microfiche back then, and I used to avidly scan the Forthcoming section every time we got new ones. I’m grateful for the internet, and so thankful to you for pointing us to Edelweiss! I’m no longer in the industry, but I did sign up for an account with them. I shall do my best to be p*tient and wait for the official release.
I have never heard of Edelweiss and after going to the link Mod R provided, I still don’t get it. It seems like everyone is applying for an ARC but only folks in the industry are likely to qualify.? I guess I am just old and out-of-the-loop…..Eventually everyone will get to read it……
Interesting premise, looking forward to reading it. Are there plans for a limited edition? The Alabama Booksmith in Birmingham is an excellent venue for a book launch, Robert McCammon starts his tours there.
