Tor released This Kingdom for preorder and did not warn us. We found out 30 minutes ago, and Mod R tells me that the links are already up in Discord and fan groups. BDH: zero chill.

The EBOOK is up everywhere.

The PRINT EDITION is up at other places but not up on Amazon US because Amazon US only allows hardcover preorders in 300 day window before release. Most other country Amazons already have it (UK, Canada, Germany etc). It should be up everywhere some time in the summer. We will remind you again when we have the cover. THERE WILL BE A PRINT EDITION.

The AUDIO is not up anywhere except BN because it has not been recorded yet. The book is still being copyedited. THERE WILL BE AN AUDIO EDITION.

  3. The BDH rides again. Yesterday when the preorder went live the ranking stats on Amazon were 15417, 389 and 989. This morning when I checked they are 113, 5 and 12. I would say Maggie is well on the way to best sellerdom.

  5. Is there any negative to the success of the book by preordering too soon? If it is driven to the top of a “New releases in fantasy” list and people who know nothing of the authors see that the book is not available for a year, will this still boost reaching a new audience? I’ll preorder any time because I know I’ll read anything you write, but since you are trying to reach a bigger audience what is best?

  13. Went to preorder on B&N and included the discount code. Message: Sorry! Your Membership does not qualify for this promotion. Apparently, this only works for Premium members. Oh, well, full price it is … I’m not letting go!!!

  14. Released with no warning, it’s already broken into the top 100 on the Kindle store, and top 5 in epic fantasy on the kindle store. The BDH follows where House Andrews leads, indeed!

  20. Sooo…weird question. I know the audio isn’t out yet for the new and shiny book yet, but will there ever be a combo deal for purchasing both a paper version, digital version, and audio version all at once? I’ve always wondered about this…

    • That would be something retailer-specific 🙂 , doubt authors would be able to control it.

I will have to wait a while before I pre-order, as my local online retailer of choice (yes, total contradiction in terms 😉 but I am referring to a national rather than multinational online shop) has a 90 day preorder limit. Yup, just 90 days. Soooo I’m thinking I need to put this on the calendar to pre-order by next Christmas 😂🙈

    I’m tempted to add a Kobo pre-order for the ebook just to join in with the fun though 😉

    Yes, I’ve preordered on Amazon Canada. Will await the arrival, it will be so darn good. It’s titled – This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me (Maggie the undying book 1) with a doom gloom dark cover and Tor blue logo.

  34. So, went to pre-order but the book on Kindle Aus is $36.07, so I’m going to wait for hard cover which might be a little bit more expensive but will also be a wonderful addition.

    Know that I would drive it up to #1 if it wasn’t almost the price of the paperback.

  39. Usually order your books as soon as they’re listed as available. However…I’m in my 80’s, and while in good health, don’t know if I’ll be around by NEXT YEAR to receive your next book, no matter how eagerly awaited. Why so far in the distance?

    • Maggie is a traditionally published series. That means the publishing house dictates the schedule, and it is influenced by a lot of factors, including several round of edits, cover creation, marketing, publicity, the publisher’s printing queue etc 🙂

    does anyone know why the Google Play e-book is $5 more expensive than in any other e-store? It shows me price tag of 484,39 Kč, which should be around 22 USD according to a quick Google search. I mean… maybe it is the currency exchange problem, I don’t know.

    It’s a bummer though. I like keeping my books in one app, so I usually buy them there, but now it seems that I’ll have to switch to a new app.

    • Retailers control their own pricing, so I’m afraid no one can help here 🙁

      • Well, I expected that would be the case… I guess I wouldn’t mind paying more, if I knew that the money would go to the authors, but I don’t feel like paying extra bonus to Google. 😛
