We will start with a brief vellum update and then switch to the giveaway. I am bribing you.
Some people saw me testing things on Facebook this morning, and I wanted to explain it before any misunderstandings occured.
It’s our first time printing vellum so we made some decisions that slightly complicated our life.
Our original vellum, the one that is advertised in image below is printed on 40lb vellum. It’s thicker, the colors are brighter, and it is exactly 6×9 so it fits into US hardcover.

It fits in the book, but it is thicker and it is a bit of struggle to make it stay. It should have been printed slightly smaller.

We have now tried 5 different printers. At some point, I invited Grace Draven to the house to get unbiased opinions.
First, we dropped the white border and settled on the size that would fit both UK and US hardcovers.

Next we found a thinner vellum at 28 lbs that still shows the beautiful colors but is much thinner and lays better in the book.
We have one more batch coming to us before finalizing the no-border vellum. After that, the no-border vellum will be available as a separate product. We don’t want to throw it out there before we have pictures to show you.
We would like to give you options at the fulfillment.
- You can choose to stay with the original vellum with white border. We printed a ton of it and we have it in stock.
- You can switch to the no-white-border version at no additional charge. It is a one for one swap.
- And those of you who would like to get both, border and no-border, will be able to grab a set of no-border vellum at a discount. We will just stuff it into the same envelope, saving you on shipping. The add-on pack will be available only with a regular order.
Once we have finalized this second variant, we will send you an email through the store explaining how to choose your options. If you run into trouble, please email us and we will sort it.
A little warning about the fulfillment: we expect it to take several weeks. We have in excess of 2,000 orders. Kid 2 is stuffing maps into the envelopes as we speak. We even put Rito to work.

We appreciate your patience.
We will start shipping after 07/08, and if you get worried, email me through the store and I will be able to tell you your place in line.
Also I now know way too much about vellum.
Giveaway Bribe
We have received beautiful collected editions of Innkeeper Chronicles Volume 1 from Subterranean Press. It is a gorgeous book, and we are very grateful to Subterranean for reissuing it.
(And also an unexpected gift of the wonderful Sencha Tea! A giant bag of it. Dear Geralyn, thank you so much! It is appreciated beyond all reason.)
This collector edition contains Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace, and One Fell Sweep. Clean Sweep is currently available free in our store.

This is your chance to grab one of these copies. The giveaway will run until 07/09 and the winner will be chosen on 07/10.
- US only – unfortunately, it is a massive book, and shipping it internationally will be a nightmare. House Andrews will host other international giveaways soon.
- To enter, please let us know in the blog comments who is your favorite character from the Innkeeper Chronicles.
PS Mod R:
Ilona wrote this post, but I am changing author to myself so she doesn’t get the thousands of comments alerts – House Andrews are on the last scenes of Maggie 2 and they need full focus!
Please read the instructions before making your comment, I have had to void so many entries in the previous giveaway.

Lady Karat is my favorite!
My favorite is Helen.
Caldenia!
I mean I love them all, but she just steals the scenes she is in.
Beast, I’m always on the lookout for his alien self to come out.
I’m going with Arland. He’s so sweet to Maud and Helen.
Love this series! Hard to pick a favorite, but I will go with Helen! Thank you for the chance!
Favorite character has to be Dina!
My fave is Her Grace Caldenia, she reminds me of my Nana 🤣
Dear Mod R, My favorite character in the Innkeeper series is Caldenia because her personality is so complex!
Dina is my favorite character.
Arland – I just love him 🥰
Maud is my favorite character 🙂
For sure Orro!
To be honest with you, it’s incredibly hard to choose just one favorite character! But I think I’m most partial to Maud (I think that’s her name?) The one who was married to a vampire and is raising a half vampire child. It’s been a long time since I’ve last read Innkeeper, but she still stands out to me, even though I have short term memory loss affecting my recollection of names – I can still picture her.
And US based – forgot to say that
Caldenia, hands down!
I haven’t read yet but I see that Dina is popular so that’s my vote!
Maud will always be my favorite!
Helen 🙂
Dina!
My favorite character is Cookie!
I enjoy all of the characters from the Innkeeper series. Saying that my two favorite characters are Helen because she is absolutely adorable and Dina because she is an underestimated, compassionate powerhouse.
Dina is my favorite character
I love Maud – best Mom ever.
Favorite character in the Innkeeper Chronicles is Dina!
I love all the characters but I have to give the nod to Orro
My Favorite Character is Helen with her rippercushions.
yes! I laughed so hard at that.
My favorite character is the space chickens, collectively. My family, collectively, behave much the same way.
My favorite character is Maud. I love her strength and attitude. Great mother to Helen and I loved her romance and marriage to Arland.
My favorite character as of this moment is Kiar Jovo.
Dina is still my favorite because she is unfazeable!
My favorite character is a tie between Helen and Orro!!
Had you asked me this question when I first read Inkeeper (or even just a few years ago), I would have said Dina. It’s not the creative answer, but she’s the FMC for a reason ♥️
Now that I have an absolutely feral toddler girl myself, I have a whole new perspective on Maud and Helen. If my little gremlin is half as smart and tough as Helen, she’ll be set for life. 💪
Shout out to the folks who answered Gertrude Hunt. Now that is an A++ answer!
All day, everyday! It’s Sean!!
I love Dina! She loves her home, she would win all galactic trivia games, she’s a deeply competent badass with a sense of humor. Her happy cozy life that is also filled with wild adventures is real life goals. My comfort read is all of Innkeeper <3 I'd adore having a copy of this edition!!
My favorite character is Maud.
My favorite character is Sean.
My favorite Innkeeper character is Sean because of his backstory, development, and, of course, all the feels for Dina!
Thank you! My favorite character is Maud.
Favorite innkeeper character – Sean
Caldenia!
Orro, because he can cook, is slightly nieve about television and movies with hilarious interpretations, and cares so very deeply about the humans who have adopted him ..
My favorite character is Beast!
!y favorite character is Dina, so much loss and pressure put on her and yet she sjines!
Sorry the vellum is causing you problems! 🤗
Asking me to pick a favorite character is like asking someone to pick their favorite child! Yes, they are more your children than mine, but I love them all so much!
P.S., please don’t enter me into the contest. I was lucky enough to snag a new copy and while I’m sure I’d never win, I want someone who doesn’t have one to win. Thanks!
This is SO difficult since there are so many wonderful characters to chosefrom! I love Dina, but I think Maud would nudge her out just slightly as my favorite character from the Innkeeper Chronicles!
This is actually a hard question to answer. Love them all!
BUT
My answer would be that precious child … Helen
May her comment: Ripper cushions last for infinity.
Maud is definitely my favorite. She will fight for what her family needs.
Maud is my favorite character – I love every scene she’s in!
Thanks for the update.
The Innkeeper series is a personal favorite and I think that all of the characters are well developed so it’s hard to choose just one. But Maud and by association Helen are the ones that stand out. So Matilda Rose, Maven of House Krahr.
Maud Maid Maid all the way!
Picking a favorite is a tough one. I’d say I’m Team Maud. She wasn’t born into an Innkeeper family, if I’m remembering correctly, but came into it when her mother freed DeMille from the old inn. Nevertheless, she hits the ground running in this new reality and immersed herself so much that she turned herself into a human vampire. So, I really like Maud for being “all in” and moving forward with whatever the universe sends her way.
My favorite character is Orro. The descriptions of his food make my mouth water, his antics always make me laugh and I love that his prickly exterior hides a gentle heart that adores his found family in Gertrude Hunt.
Can we have more than one?
My favorite character in the Innkeeper series is Maud. She’s such a bad ass with her sword and I loved her story and romance. Anyone who can go through so much, while protecting her daughter, and yet still be able to laugh and love again gets all the respect.
However, I also love Oro and Gaston!! Every single scene with these two, together or individually, are a true treat. They are hilarious.
Also in the US, if that needs to be stated.
Arland Krahr! I love the way he does nothing short of his best! He always does what he can to make a situation better! Not only that but the way he loves and cares for Maud is incredible especially where she is fragile and very protective of Helen!
It’s impossible to choose 🥲 But I’m hungry and daydreaming of Orro’s culinary creations, so Orro!
(USA)
Maud is my favorite Innkeeper Chronicles character, although Helen is a close second!
My favorite is Sean!
My favorite character from the Innkeeper Chronicles is Orro!
My initial reaction was Dina. But there many, many great characters. Maude (so badass and resilient), Sean (woof), Arland (also woof), Orro (sooooo dramatic), Caldenia (graceful, elegant, yet so bloodthirsty),Helen, the Lees, Kosanion and and and…
All so good. This series has become a comfort read for me.
It is difficult to pick just one favorite character, but I choose the Inn itself. (Self-cleaning! Moveable walls! Decor on demand! Semi-sentience! Protection! Unlimited storage!)
+1
I love Caldenia! But also I love Cookie and the whole clan.
My favorite character is Dina! I love the Inn Keeper Chronicles and the world that was created.
Such a hard choice! I love most for different reasons… but I usually vibe with Orro because he’s a riot, makes delicious foods, and lives in an-almost hobbit hole.
Thanks for all your hard work for the TKWNKM goodies!
Barsa barsa barsaaa, barsa! Barsa barrrsa.
(My favorite character is Dina, honorable mentions to Olasard Ripper of Souls and Karat) 😀
My favorite innkeeper character is Dina! I love everyone but Dina is the voice of this world.
Her Grace Caldenia ka ret Magren
Arland is my favorite. What’s not to love?
I am rereading the Innkeeper series right now and I have to say Orro. FIRE!
usa ,Lord Soren. my favorite uncle.
I absolutely love Dina and Sean, but Orro is my secret favorite. His dramatic episodes add a little comedy when needed and his loyalty is heart melting. I have read the series over several times and bought the audio books for when I cant hold a book.
My favorite character from the Innkeeper series is Gertrude Hunt. The idea of a sentient home that can bend the laws of physics and make portals at its own whim? And it decides to bond with a human and protect them at all costs?? Yes.
My favorite character is probably Orro because he is so dramatic and lovely. I also love Gertrude Hunt so much. For real one of the best characters.
My favorite character – so hard! Arland, specifically after coffee though? Priceless 😆
I’m going to pick Sean.
With Arland as a close runner up because he’s so wonderful with Helen.
my favorite character is orro
So beautiful! My favorite character is Dina, all the way!
My favorite character is Maud.
Helen has to be my favorite 🙂
My favorite character would have to be Orro. I always love the descriptions of his cooking.
Costco lady is my favorite Innkeeper Chronicles character. Second favorite: the nosy cop (Officer Marais).
Also favorite: fan-servicing tie-ins 😉
Orro! Fire! But Caldenia is a close second. That scene in Sweep of the Heart made me cry!
The Gertrude Hunt. I love how much personality the Inn is able to express. The Inns are something I most wish actually existed and I was crying when the seed had to be abandoned.
My favorite character from the Innkeeper series is Beast, the cute bacon-eating dog who transforms into a monster when necessary. Small creatures can be fierce!
Helen would be my favorite.
Oh my goodness, how to choose? I must go with drama queen Arland, because of the way his Graphic Audio iteration made my teenager laugh out loud in the car.
Favorite character is Helen because of all the ripper cushions she has endured!
Helen
Maude, yep…one bad ass mom!
Orro!
My favorite character is Dina!
Thanks for hosting another giveaway! I’m in the US.
My fave character from Innkeeper is definitely Orro. The drama, the delicious food, the adorable hedgehog! What’s not to love?
Ruthless pragmatism, fierce protectiveness, and a fab wardrobe – Caldenia’s my favorite. And I love her GA voice!
Maud! Or maybe Helen. Maud’s book is my most reread of the series. I love them so much.
So many great characters to pick from! I choose Maud!
My favorite character from Innkeeper is Caldania. I want to be her when I grow up.
My favorite character is Dina. I’m a sticker for a good heroine
What a lovely surprise! I love getting bribed right before a holiday! My favorite is Orro!
My favorite character from the Innkeeper chronicles is Orro. He is *chef’s kiss*
For his dramatics and absolute commitment to perfection in his craft, Orro is my favorite.
I haven’t thought about a cheeseburger the same since reading his agony at not being able to recreate one, and Dina’s brain-exploding rationale for how it is a food that defies so much logic.
~Much love and happy reading from WI, USA~
This is a really hard choice, but Dina! I just love her 😍😍
