With the SAG-AFTRA strike is that going to affect audiobook narrations?
Angela says
From what I’ve read, No.
“So. This SAG-AFTRA strike is for the TV/Theatrical contract. There are other contracts that actors will be able and/or obligated to work under: Commercials, Videogame, Audiobook, Network Code, Public TV, etc.
I am one of those actors who will still be working a bit.” — Stephanie D’Abruzzo(Twitter)
Now if the person involved in the project is a union member who can choose to postpone the contract until the strike is over… maybe?

Hi Mod R,
Quick question- is the price for the audible book from Amazon really $48?
Moderator R says
The price on Audible for the book is 1 credit- which is a good deal for 2 books. Amazon likes to “encourage” people to sign up for their subscription.
You can chose another retailer (or local library) if you don’t want to have an ongoing commitment 🙂.
Angela says
you should be able to find the audio book for free through your library. A library app like Hoopla, Libby or maybe Axis 360.

I would love a story about Luther and Roman. Imagine the interaction of their personalities and their different magics!

Congrats to winners! Just a really crazy thought: We’ve gotten snippets of Curran. We know he has a wicked sense of humor, and — thanks to Wilmington years — that he gives super smart advice to his son. But what would happen if there was a short story or novella or maybe even a novel from Curran’s pov? This is just a crazy thought. He’s always there in the background for Kate — as playful adversary, sometime rescuer, even briefly taking on a role as divine just so he can save her. We also know that he can do stupid on occasion — like when they go to Europe to get the panacea and he pretends to have a girlfriend. But he did it with the best intentions. Maybe he should remain a mystery, but I get the feeling that he’s more than just the strong, silent thews flexing in the background, or the handsome lover. No worries. You’ve got plenty of writing plans, and I’ll read anything your write. Sometimes twice or more. Lots more. You would get amazing royalties from my re-reads. 🙂 But I would go broke renting/buying. 😀
Moderator R says
Small Magics has 130 pages of Curran goodness! 🙂 That’s almost a short novel https://ilona-andrews.com/katie-daniels-books/#small

This has me imagining Luther showing up with a trainee, which would be doubly fun because you know Luther would be unconventional in his in instructional approach…
(I ordered the audiobook sometime back, so I didn’t participate in the giveaway but –
I love the new narrators! Hillary Huber in particular.
And I realized I missed magic Atlanta more than I realized. Kate, of course, is just such a great character, but what really stood out for me is the all the details of the world building. It’s such a weird and wonderful place, but with this sense of being grounded in our world as well.)

Congrats to all the winners!!
Carol says
I only read 3 fantasy series. Kate Daniels is #1 on that list. So I appreciate any other books you give us about Kate’s world.

Congratulations 🎊 to the winners. Looking forward to more fun!
Question when will we get the results for the FB game about guessing the two characters who will appear? Now that I think about it, I’m not sure if its a contest but still curious about who the two will be.
Moderator R says

A little bit longer 😉

Congrats to the winners!
In the same vein of characters I’d love to see return (despite not being from KD).. will we ever see Will and Cerise again? Even in a short story or an InnTerview?
Avery says
to add to my previous comment, Id love to see more of William and Jack! their guardian/child dynamic was delightful
