Arcane Society have revealed a sneak peek of the Blood Heir hardcover edition!

The Ilona Andrews Special Box from Arcane Society will contain exclusive hardcover editions of Iron and Magic and Blood Heir. I’m sure most of us will recognize the gorgeous style and attention to detail that is signature Luisa Preissler, who painted the dustjacket for both books.
I don’t know whether there will be a preview for the Iron and Magic art before the box goes on sale, but if there is, don’t look at it directly! Elara’s dress is too badass to handle *squeeeee*.
Because it is a Special Box, access for public and members will be granted on the same day, November 15 2023, although members will get first go at the signed copies a few hours early. The price for the box is $70. The boxes are likely to ship in March of next year.
Of course, we will do a reminder on the blog the day before, and one as soon as the box goes up for sale.
A bit on Arcane Society for those unfamiliar: they are a book subscription service, specializing in fantasy and paranormal romance. You do not need to become a member to buy their Special Boxes (like this one), but you can if you want to have access to their monthly ones. You can find out more about it on their About and FAQ pages. There was some confusion last time on how to get in contact with them about special delivery arrangements or other enquiries: their email is help@arcanesociety.com.

Really looking forward to Iron & Magic 2. Maybe there will be an explanation of how Hugh came to be Kate’s cousin. Erra says in Magic Bleeds that Kate can’t be her daughter because she hasn’t been awake long enough. Hugh seems as old as Kate if not older.
I don’t know exactly where I read this, but I’m pretty sure Roland woke up before Erra, so he had plenty of time to find Hugh, train Hugh as he grew, and then have Hugh as his warlord well before we first meet Kate.
Namtur mentioned this when he told Julie why he came to Atlanta while they were relaxing in Julie’s real house. It’s also when Namtur whaps Julie when she told him that Erra wasn’t a blood relative. This is in Blood Heir.
Hugh is much older than Kate. Like Voron was not-middle aged then old.

I tried to Google the definition of “flolloping” to see if it’s something I am, in fact, doing, but the results came back to an urban dictionary definition dealing with mattresses (no), something about a left testicle (nope) or getting hit by a breast (possible), and then “jump around, in an excited kind of way”. I decided that was the definition ModR was going for.
Since that definition of me flolloping could very well result in getting hit by a breast, I will instead restrain myself to squeeeee!ing.
Think of Kermit the Frog when he gets excited about something.
Some of those definitions made me laugh. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s not a real word 😂, but it gets the point across. Flailing and flopping in excitement.
It is the BEST word for the Kermit-the-Frogness of the Horde.
Or me. Maybe it’s just a me word.

This is going to be a dumb question, but are there any new illustrations inside the book pages by any chance??? I really loved the Innkeeper book with all the pretty pictures. Either way, the cover is gorgeous!

OH! Mod R, is there any chance the early pb Kate books will be republished in hardcover? I don’t know if that is still a thing.

Ohhhh beautiful! Mod R, do you have any idea about how many copies will be available? I’m not sure how limited supplies are or if there is tons of interest, they’ll make more product?
Unfortunately, Arcane Society editions do not get reprinted 🙁 . Once the stock is gone, that’s it.
I am not sure how many will be printed, but I do know the signed copies usually sell out on the day of release, between members and public access.

Just wanted to let you know as a super fan how much I love your books! The relationships, characters and stories get played over and over (I’m an avid audiobook fan, although I will admit I don’t like most of the enhanced or multi-cast books lots of folks are putting out – they ring as cheesy to me and I just can’t stand them).

Because all of the decision and dates are not yet set in stone, the news hasn’t been updated on the Release Schedule, but I thought you might be happy to see it nonetheless 🙂
