Tomorrow we finally enter Kair Toren, the capital of the kingdom of Rellas.
Its lynchpin is the Sun Margrave. The man who stands between order and lawlessness.
Maggie knows exactly what he represents, because This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me doesn’t drop a character into a fantasy world. It puts a fan inside it.
She’s reread these books until she knows them by heart. The details, the people, the moments that mattered. She knows how this story is supposed to go. And that certainty might be the most dangerous thing she brings into this world.
“Who is the Sun Margrave?” Kaiden asked.
“He’s the man who leads the Justice Chamber,” Clover told him. “When
people commit crimes against the kingdom, he is the one who brings the cases
before the High Court.”
“Margrave is a military title,” Reynald explained. “It means lord who defends
a border. The Sun Margrave also guards a boundary, the one between lawlessness and order.”
Our long w*it is almost over, and suddenly everything is happening at once.

I woke up this morning to an email saying that my Waterstones special edition is due to be delivered today, it’s 3.30pm (in the Uk) & I’m still pat***tly wa**ing!!
Soo… not to be annoying or anything…. but this w*iting is getting to me – especially as I need to work all week, including the weekend….

From the UK. I hadn’t checked my emails this morning so got a nice surprise when the postman came and my book from waterstones was delivered. Going to try to read tomorrow as wanted to finish some needlefelt pieces I started and will try not to read in the middle of the night.

Mine doesn’t get delivered to my kindle until the 2 April! Much sadness
My kids have a school holiday tomorrow. I’ve warned them the book comes out. I’m basically going to let them run feral while I read.
I made a classic old fashioned English trifle, sustenance and liquid refreshment in one go!
So a layer of ladyfingers, then beef sautéed with peas and onions and some whipped cream on top!

On the West Coast my Kindle is often blessed with a new release at 9PM if not sooner. I will be compulsively checking this evening.

Is it just me or is this release just, well, bigger? It feels like more than just “oh, here’s a new series by my favorite authors.” It feels like a statement series.

It’s a new genre for the Authors and for most of their existing readers, so audience widening and very likely paving the way.
It’s their return to traditional publishing after the break they took since Ruby Fever.
And above all it’s really a project they worked and believed in a lot to make it happen, and which was snapped up by so many publishers around the world, and are now releasing promo and marketing efforts to match their enthusiasm 🙂

I thought I would have to w@it until my pre-ordered ebook would land on april 2nd, so imagine my joy when I got a call this weekend from my sister breathlessly telling me she was in a bookstore in The Hague (Netherlands) holding 2 copies of TKWNKM! She faithfully handed over one of her ill gotten treasures yesterday. Today’s train commute was much to short for my liking but tomorrow is my day off and I will blissfully spend it in Rellas.
Question! 🙋🏻♀️ I preordered TKWNKM on my Kindle but would rather buy the ebook direct from IA like I did with Beast Business since that worked so well. Will that be an option again?
Side note: I’m in Louisville and just registered for the book signing with our author overlords in Lexington. So excited!!!

I will get the Kindle copy tonight at midnight and my hardcover gets delivered on Friday. I have been training for an all night reading marathon for months! Will be drinking Coke Zero for the caffeine boost! I have been waiting for this for over two years (ever since I read the original manuscript) and I am done with that!
I have to be at work tomorrow. However, since I get to work from home, I can read at my desk. I don’t think I have a lot to do for work. So, that’s more time reading! 😁🤪🎇

I have been reading “Sweep of the Blade” because, well…you all know why.
I’ve also gone all the way down the rabbit hole of the recommended Netflix series that Grace Draven and Ilona mentioned, “Pursuit of Jade” and it was absolutely spell binding.
I will say it has subtitles, but they are very well done.
The visuals are amazingly beautiful. It is a period medieval piece, and the story line follows interesting twists. Once again, a fantastic recommendation from Ilona and Grace Draven.
I have my tickets in hand for the Barnes & Noble tour event tomorrow in Austin.
I plan to nap this afternoon, then grab Maggie when my ebook drops at midnight and read until my eyes cross.
My husband has kindly agreed to get me into the car regardless of my condition and make sure I reach B&N in time to grab my hard copy of Maggie, and listen to Ilona and Gordon.
The scope of Maggie is going to bring HA to a much wider audience base, and the horde has a front row seat, helping to make it happen.
