On Book Clubs and Hot Takes
I start my Mondays with news, and today I found this interesting article from WSJ called No, I Don't Want to Join Your Book Club by Betsy McKay. The article requires you to register unless you have a subscription. It's a good read, but if you don't want to go through the trouble of registering,

On Panini Press, Fine Qualities Of
Mod R has been mentioning the panini press lately and the need for some recipes. Warning: stock pictures of delicious food ahead. What is a panini press? Panini comes to us from Italy. It is thought to have originated in Lombardy, and was mentioned in some Italian writing as early as 16th

Please Stop Harassing the Audio Reader And Doing Other Things
I have now seen the ACX documents from the pirated edition of Magic Claims, and I am satisfied that the audio reader, Christy Hodson, was also a victim of fraud. Someone posed as us, hired her to do this through ACX, she recorded the book in good faith, and having put in all of the labor and

Yarn Love: Expect the Unexpected
Gordon collects action figures. (Please don't send him any. He already has pretty much everything.) When a new package arrives to the house, he almost always informs me that the purchase is a "preorder." As in, it wasn't a recent splurge, but something that was paid for long ago. I don't care if

Cooking: Tips and Tricks
Do you have any cooking tips or tricks? I just have the usual home cook stuff. Let’s see. Um. Giving cooking advice is always slightly controversial. For example, I do not cook our pan-seared steaks in a bath of butter. One, we don’t need the extra calories and saturated

Closet Questions
This weekend I bit the proverbial bullet and tackled my closet. I hadn't cleaned my closet in 5 years. It doesn't seen to bad until you consider that when we moved, I simply transferred the hangers from one house to the other. Some of my clothes were so old, they could've gotten their own

Tea and Hammering
::taking a figurative hammer and hitting the holiday project:: Get! Into! Shape! I should do that to myself. I haven't worked out in 2 weeks. I haven't walked either. It is super crappy. It's like Portland, Oregon weather over here, grey and dull and depressing. We mostly have two seasons:
