The release of BLOOD HEIR is just around the corner. Normally, we would be arranging signings with bookstores. Unfortunately, COVID is still rampaging through the country, so we are home-bound but we still want to meet all of you and chat about the new book and what it means for the Kate Daniels universe.
We are doing two virtual appearances for the release of BLOOD HEIR. Both will be via zoom. There will be an FAQ and giveaways. 🙂 You don’t have to register, but it’s best that you do because attendance is limited. We tried to time the Saturday event so our European readers can join.

We have happy to announce that we partnered with a couple of independent bookstores to bring you signed copies of BLOOD HEIR. Because of COVID, “signed book” in this case will mean a book with a bookplate. BLOOD HEIR is self-published, so it will likely be the same size as IRON AND MAGIC or Innkeeper books. Here is what a bookplate will look like.
The price of the paperback is higher than the usual price of the mass market. This is due to it being a print on demand title. We try to keep our margins as low as we can.

I’m a healthcare worker and am looking forward to the vaccine returning our life to some normalcy in 2021. I am also excited to get back to traveling and visiting my family members out of state!

here’s to a year that gives me less anxiety about everything. Job, kids, house, life, friends. I want to practice more kindness, and be less affected by the lack of kindness in others. The vaccines! I know rollout is going to be slow, and that most of us will likely have to wait for a long time, but seeing the our most vulnerable getting protection has been one of my favorite things and I hope it only gets better

What am I looking forward to most in 2021? My oldest son is graduating high school! I just hope we can actually attend the graduation.
I am hopeful that we can receive a Covid vaccine in 2021 and I will be able to spend time with my mom. She is high risk. (And maybe a family vacation? Is it too much to wish for?) Thank you for all you are doing to give us something positive to focus on. Here’s to a better new year!

What I am looking forward to most in 2021. (Assuming everyone gets vaccinated and the new strains of COVID are protected with the vaccine. ) I am looking forward to safely going to the movie theater with my family/friends again. We would make an event out of it, dinner then movies once every three months. It was a fun thing to do that did not require a lot of coordination between everyone’s busy lives. While some of the movies you can watch now at home, the feeling of going to the movies and watching it on the big screen is not easily replicated even with drive in movie theaters.
I am starting a new job on Jan 11th a bit nervous. My Husband is now an owner-operator truck driver as of Dec, and that has been new. The one thing I’m super excited about is Blood Heir.

2021? So many of the previous comments resonate with me! Especially though, I want my kids to be happy and healthy. One graduating from university and headed into her PhD program and the other still in university with big dreams just waiting for him. I look forward to all the potential a new year brings!
Wait, am I first? I’m never first.
I look forward to the summer festivals that are planned everywhere. Since the covid spread is limited in summer, i have high hopes that they are going through. Almost all of them are planned as open air events in my hometown. And that means …. music, music everywhere. Street theatre! Circus in the park, open air dance parties, renaissance festivals, hip hop crews and capoeira. I cant wait.
I’m most looking forward to hopefully getting to see my family again. My closest family is over 2,000 miles away and I haven’t been able to visit since several months before COVID even started.
But…a close second….Blood Heir. I’m SO excited to go back to the Kate Daniel’s world.
And I just found out another of my favorite authors has a book in copy edits, so I don’t know when it’s coming out, but excited for The Empires of Ruin by Brian Staveley.

It’s just that I’m really looking forward to CoViD really, really being past, and I’m not seeing that happen within the next eight months… I am lucky enough that I can work from home, but we are currently in a lockdown, and working from home with a teacher who needs to do online teaching and a kindergartner who needs help and support and cuddles is really less about working and more about trying not to go nuts… So if I’m not sounding too positive, well, there’s your reason ????

The absolute #1 thing I am looking forward to in 2021 is going to eat at a restaurant called Boiled Dragon. This restaurant opened up during COVID and features crab boil fusion. I have an extreme aversion to ordering seafood for takeout, perhaps because hot seafood dishes taste best when you know either the tips of your fingers or the roof of your mouth are going to be scorched. Sometimes I regretfully open up the menu, sigh over the fried crab bao or mild boil crab with thai basil, and wish fervently for a better vaccine distribution situation in Texas (and, frankly, everywhere). 2021, please grant me this wish!
I am most looking forward to celebrating my 15 year anniversary with my husband. We were hoping to plan a big trip but with the state of the pandemic we will likely scale back.

The thing I am most looking forward to this year is hopefully getting to travel and visit family again before the year is over.
I’m looking forward to me and my family getting vaccines this year, so life can get back to normal and so I can quit worrying. I want to go to church again and go to the movies and go shopping and go do all the things I can’t do right now.
What am I most looking forward to in 2021? I would have said finally having enough money saved up to buy my first home but medical problems are likely to interfere with that this year.
So instead, I’ll say that what I’m most looking forward to is my (tentatively planned) holiday to the Dain Tree Rainforest in north Queensland. It’s not likely to happen until the end of the year but it’s been a holiday goal for me for a few years.
I look forward to spending time with my family! My brother and his family are moving in with me while they sale their home!
In 2021 I’m looking forward to giving myself more self care (working mother of 3 young kiddos), which means hopefully more time for books! It’s been over a year since I’ve found time for myself to read a book. Blood Heir is first on my list, and I can’t wait for it to deliver!

What I’m most looking forward to this year? How about…
My son is getting married in December of 2021. I am so excited. I love is fiancée so much, she is simply the best. He originally planned on proposing during a trip to Japan they were taking during the first two weeks of March, 2020. We all know why those plans got derailed. So instead, they are going to make the trip their honeymoon. So yeah, I am really looking forward to Christmas this year and the special gift of a new daughter I will be receiving.
What I look forward most to? To meet people; family, friends and strangers. To talk to about books and everything else. To be able to visit the library and browse the shelves. I love my book club and we try to meet via zoom/Facetime but it’s not the same as meeting face to face, arguing and laughing about characters, plotlines and themes in the books we have read. That said, I would like to continue my interaction online with new friends and strangers around the world who love the books I love. I have seen more authors talking about their books and people gathering together online to give reading suggestions and talk about favourite reads.
I’m looking forward to turning 40 this year!!

I’m not even sure what I’m looking forward to most, a return to somewhat normalcy, new releases (blood heir and hidden legacy 6 from the Andrew’s and other books by my favorite authors), or for spring so my feet will stay warm lol.
I am looking foward to physically going inside of HEB and smelling all their “Texas-scented” dish soaps. Weird, I know, but I miss it all the same.
I might be able to adopt a second dog! (My first is a very laid back schnauzer who is the best girl). Also looking forward to blood heir (obviously), picking up cross stitching again and a bonus at my job that marks my 8th year in the organisation.

What I am looking forward to in 2021– a decrease in panic and fear over something you can’t even see (a virus). For people to realize that out of this came unexpected personal blessings— what ever they might be. I look forward to taking a deep sigh of relief that WE survived and grew in unexpected ways and maybe tried new things because there was time….. as the quarantine lingered. I look forward to being grateful for small things like a well cooked meal, and large things like health, and the love of family, and helping someone….

Honestly, what I am really looking forward to in 2021 is new books. The world is still a dumpster fire, but with new books from my favorite authors, I may be able to survive.
In 2021 I’m looking forward to a better normal. Once this “pandemonium” (my 92 yr old mom’s word) is over I hope we can keep the best parts of what we’ve learned. Family and friends are more important than material things. Connection matters. A slower pace gives more time to enjoy the days. And more time to read and reread books. Including everything Ilona Andrews has written ❤️(Spoken from a healthy, financially stable POV)

This year, I am most looking forward to things approaching some semblance of normal so that I can really get back into my martial arts classes. I’m still doing kali, in which keeps you separated from the other person with sticks, but you absolutely can’t social distance and do aikido or krav maga, and trying to do the latter with a mask on is not even a consideration for me, I’m always on the verge of collapse by the end of a class when I’m breathing freely.
(Second place is watching my six month old Malinois, Lightning- Light for short- grow up into an adult dog, and hopefully start acting like she has some brains. For a dog as smart as she is, she doesn’t have any sense at all.)
Looking forward to getting my family vaccinated for COVID. Also making more progress on improving my embroidery skills.

I’m looking forward to many things in 2021. Blood Heir and a couple of other books out soon aso. But mostly I look forward to giving my parents a huge hug, as soon as we are vaccinated against the virus. I haven’t been within 2 meters of the both of them since february last year.
In 2021 I am most looking forward to moving my son downstairs to a real bedroom and getting my office back! He’s finally old enough to be on a different floor than us and is excited about his new space, and I’m over the moon at the idea that my computer can move out of the living room and go back where it belongs 🙂

I am looking forward to a new year of reading books! I’ve been very excited for this one and a few others coming out this year such as Jeanne Frost’s Wicked All Night. I am also looking forward to COVID hopefully being controlled so I can finally take my 2 year old to all the places I wanted to start introducing him to at this age. First up would be the Zoo! In 2021 the Blood Heir release is way up on the list! Otherwise, looking forward to a more deliberate approach to commitments as kids’ activities are ramping back up. Something’s gotta give, and a 2020 with fewer things going on was a highlight of the year.

What I look forward to the most in 2021 is the renewed hope of people turning to a kinder, smarter and more generous way of living. Perhaps with the passing of 2020 the permission that some have given to themselfs to allow baser instincts to rule their lives will fade a bit. In 2021, I mostly look forward to the hope. With all the “2020 sucks,” people gave up on last year way before it was over and pinned all their hope on making it to this one. For better or worse, they wanted to wish away a whole year in history before it was half over. Well, that’s done, and now I look forward to not dismissing this year.

Looking forward to possibly, hopefully, fingers crossed, seeing my parents in the late spring/early summer. Is that too optimistic? We’ve put off seeing them twice now.
What I miss most is meeting new people. I am very lucky to have surrounded myself with a small group of great friends who I sprak to regulary via Skype/text/etc. But learning new people and thereby new views of the world is something I really miss. I am very excited for blood heir! Something to keep give me a Nice escape from the here and now.

2021- New opportunities to interact with my friends even if it is different than what we’ve done in the past. I’m also going to try my hand at papermaking. I have no idea why but I’ve decided it’s a skill I need to perfect. It never hurts to try new things. You might find out you’re more interesting than you thought you were.

I would love to enter the giveaway of Small Magics, so here is what I am looking forward to most in 2021: dinally being able to see our families. My boyfriend’s family is in Belgium, mine is in Hungary, and we live in Austria. Due to the travel restrictions and quarantine requirements (and in order to protect our grandmothers) we haven’t seen our families a lot last year (the last time we met with either family was in August), so we are really looking forward to be able to travel to our birth countries.
Besides the awesome book coming out soon, I am looking forward to being able to go outside soon with my husband without fear he will die due to being high risk. I am also looking forward to starting grad school next Monday after not being able to start my educational journey until my late, late 20s.
I’m so excited for this books to come out! My birthday is Jan 14th, so it’s an early birthday present for me! I usually read the digital kindle books, but as this is special, I’m going to order a signed copy. I’ve read the KD books since I was in college around 2011, along with all the other series, and I am so happy that Julie is finally getting her story. I loved reading the blog chapters, and I really want to see what happened! I’ve been in suspense for months!

This is a little backstory to my 2021 wish. I live in a country called Malaysia. We are separated with Singapore by a river. Everyday, around 300 000 people from Malaysia cross the border over to Singapore for work. My boyfriend is one of the 300 000 people. Because of covid, the border has closed and I have not seen my boyfriend for over 10 months. We have bought a house and are supposed to get married this year, but… All I wish for 2021 is for the borders to be open and free again. Winning your book giveaway would be a balm for me in these trying times. 🙂

2021 – looking forward to traveling again, to getting a COVID vax, to reading fun new books. Julie and Derek are two of my favorites, and I can’t wait to see where this story takes them.
I am most looking forward to, possibly, maybe, getting to begin my PhD. I didn’t go to college as a kid – there just wasn’t the money, so I went into full-time work and wrote in my spare time, then became a freelance writer years later. But a few years ago I was hired to teach writing skills at a university and it brought back all these feelings about loving learning and wishing I’d stayed in education. So I saved up, saved up and saved up and this year I finally graduated with an MA in Creative Writing – with distinction. I’m really proud of myself for having the courage and grit, and now my mother finally has something that she can mention when she talks about me that doesn’t make her do That Face, yay! But if I want to teach (which I do) I need a PhD, so I sent all my applications out at the end of last year and now I have to hope that 2020 didn’t curse all of them… fingers crossed.
But the thing I am looking forward to NEXT most is obviously Blood Heir 😉

Besides looking forward to Blood Heir and Iron Covenant 2 and my hope we will see some more Innkeeper this next year too if it works with your schedule), I'm really looking forward to the astrophotography workshop I plan to attend this spring in the Big Bend area of Texas. It was canceled last year as the area went into shut down due to the pandemic. I'm planning to head down early for some day shooting excursions before the two night workshop. Hopefully the skies will remain clear, and I'm hoping for low water levels at Santa Elena Canyon and no recent rain so I can finally get a pretty canyon shot. My last attempt was foiled by flash flooding on the road to the canyon.
I cannot wait for the Blood Heir to be published. I just discovered your books about 18 mts ago and I have read and mostly listen to everything you have published. As I live in England I have had to do all kinds of digital acrobatics to find everything, all the short stories as some are only publised in the USA. I think I have everything now in digital, audio or writing ;). I am sorry to miss both your zoom as I am working as a Radiographer both days ;(, but I have already bought the book (digital) on preorder. I am most looking forward to our family trip to Yellowstone this summer. My youngest is 8 and obsessed with bison! I am wanting to savor and enjoy this time because when he grows beyond a stage there isn’t another kiddo. Also my oldest is 18 and will be going away to college in the Fall so this may be one of the last family vacations with all of us.

One thing I’m looking forward to in 2021 one but also dreading is graduating high school, becoming an Adult and moving out to go to a college. I’m excited to live on my own and get the “college experience” but it will be hard to live without my parents.
I can honestly say that the most I’m looking forward to is celebrating my son’s first birthday with all our friends and family. As he is a COVID time baby, we didn’t get to celebrate his birth. He doesn’t even know his grandparents outside of the laptop screen.

2021 is about to be a year full of firsts for me. I’ll be graduating undergrad, starting medical school, and maybe moving to a new city. Though each part of that journey makes me nervous, I am excited to see where these new opportunities take me and how I will have grown by the end of the year.
I am looking forward to the ability to travel again and meet my friends without risk for their health.
Also, to concerts! I would love to be able to go to a public event. ❤️

There are so many things I am looking forward to in 2021, how can I choose just one+?!? After a lot of thought, I’ve narrowed it down to three (in date order): Blood Heir! The arrival of my new family member in March (being pregnant during a pandemic sucks and is really stressful!) and the COVID vaccine.

What am I looking forward to the most in 2021? Seeing, hugging and kissing my mum. Living in a different country, flights repeatedly being cancelled, I am simply desperate. I miss her so much!
In 2021 I am most looking forward to is new book releases (of course), a fully potty trained toddler (fingers crossed!) and some overdue visiting in the second half!
2021..the year of “normal”. I could really take some boring old normal daily kind of life. No more sickness, no more needless death, no more sadness… no more anger, anxiety, strife, violence, lies……
I look forward to STRENGTH. In body, mind, and Spirit. The last couple of years I have been recovering from a TBI (traumatic brain injury). This time last year I could barely take a shower and making dinner for my family felt like climbing a mountain. Now I can do those things in so many more! I am hopeful that I will remain disciplined in my rehabilitation and that this time next year I’ll be able to leave the house for more than a few of hours without getting sick for days after.
P.S Your audiobooks saved me when I could do nothing else but lay in a dark room.
I’m looking forward to: vaccine roll-out to reduce worry about vulnerable family and friends. Ditto to enable return to parkrun, which helps so many people physically and mentally (I’m missing my parkrun community), and to in-person ultramarathons (I’m missing seeing all my ultramarathoning friends). Wonderful new books coming out. Our recently-adopted trio of semi-feral kittens learning that humans are not scary and have warm laps – and learning to purr; I’m really looking forward to their learning to purr.
In 2021 I am looking forward to getting everyone vaccinated for Covid so that our lives will move to some new normal.
I look forward to more family board game nights in 2021. This is something we started during lockdown and it is something I want to continue.
I am looking forward to a year where Covid19 is under control and we have all been vaccinated. I am also forward to being with friends again, going to the theatre and movies, eating in restaurants. I am hoping for a kinder and more honest future where we rejoice in diversity and keep our hearts open.

My family’s getting bigger in 2021, so I’m really excited for that. No one knows yet, either, so it’s all still to come!

This book and vaccine!
There are so many things I’m looking forward to this year. But I think the most important is the vaccine. My folks are in their 80s and it was hard enough only seeing them on Xmas-eve for one night (after all of us spent 2 weeks in quaratine and had ourselves tested). I want to be able to hug my mother again, to visit spontaneously, to spend as much time with her as I can.
So I would say it’s the vaccine. They, and I, are looking forward to receiving it as soon as we can (or are allowed to…).
I am most looking forward to a post-COVID world where we can see our friends and family and stop being worried about everything we do.
I am looking forward to starting grad school.
I am hopeful that we can receive a Covid vaccine in 2021, and I will be able to spend time with my family, who I have not seen in over a year.

For me 2020 was stranger than any fiction I’d want to dream up. In 2021 I am looking forward to a world that is a little saner; a little calmer; and filled to the brim with all the mundane tasks we took for granted before 2020.
I’m most excited to be able to see how the world changes/adapts to the new “normal” after the vaccines are mass distributed (i.e. will corporate firms still allow work from home, etc…) I’m also super excited for a year in which I will focus on my mental health (reducing work stress, eating healthier, exercising more) and also excited to see everyone else’s growth!
I am looking forward to new things. Things to brighten the daily struggle. This book will be one of them. ????

We got a six-week old puppy a couple days before Christmas. In 2021, I’m looking forward to developing an even more intense appreciation for sleep as the puppy begins to sleep through the night.
I’m looking forward to a few good books (Blood Heir, Rythm of War); a return to being able to see people in the second half of the year; maybe a job. I’m actually quite optimistic about the political situation for 2021.
Most of all, I’m most looking forward to not being in limbo anymore so that I have the spoons (mental capacity) to live life to the fullest again. Even if that means that I won’t finish AC Valhalla.
I’m looking forward to the end of the limitations from Covid. I can’t wait for my kids to go to school, see our friends and family, to go places like museums, and to go out for brunch with my friends. I love that I’ve reconnected with old friends and continue to look forward to our weekly Zoom.

I am most looking forwards to new books to read! I don’t necessarily love people (in general), but the characters in my favorite books are a different case entirely!
What I’m looking forward to most is seeing my family again. They live out of state and we just don’t want to risk each other’s health. My children are seriously missing their cousins. I would love for them to be able to hang out instead of just being a voice over a phone.
I’m looking forward to being able to spend more time with family and actually be able to hug them! I have a multitude of nieces and nephews and it’s hard not to be able to see them.
As everyone else “NO MORE LOCK DOWNS and NO MORE CORONIE V.”and lets add in “MASKS” (They do have one good to them, you can talk to yourself while shopping and no one thinks you are crazy).

The release of BH was a HUGE boost to get through the end of 2020! I’m hopeful that 2021 will show some improvements on political and medical fronts for the nation!
I had many hopes for 2020, and due to the COVID fiasco… all that I was looking forward to and hoping for has now been shifted to this year. The only difference are the various books that I’m looking forward to releasing, to include Blood Heir. I’m looking forward to seeing my family, and some friends, for the first time in about four or five years. My grandfather especially. He’s had health issues, which have ended up with him getting half of his foot amputated and some complications spiraled from that due to him having diabetes.
I look forward to meeting my biological father, and his side of the family, in person for the first time in my 30 years.
I look forward to taking my child indoor skydiving for the first time, trying to get him to take crafting lessons with me, and helping him find more friends to play with since the few he has are moving shortly.
I look forward to figuring out how to finally go to college now that I’ve found a carrier field that I can get passionate about.
I look forward to fixing what broke on our house in 2020 and improving upon it.
I look forward to spending another year with my marvelous husband.
I hope that we all can find some sort of new normal, and all those things can happen. I hope that everyone else can achieve what they wish as well.

I’m looking forward to seeing my grandparents. They are 91 & 93. I know I’m really lucky to still have them! Because of this dang virus, I’ve been afraid to go see them (3.5 hours away). I’m hopeful that they will be able to get the vaccine and then I can go.

What I’m most looking forward to about 2021 is the hope that till summer it will possible to meet friends again, to get forward with my study of geology and a lot of great books.
For me it is smaller things I am looking forward to in 2021:
* To see my family again after month on month apart. Covid made it impossible for Christmas, but I have hope for Easter.
* Amber hunting with a friend. There is just something about going to the beach in the dark with UV light.
* The book club meeting again, so we can share some wine and a lot of laughter.
* New books coming out!

Being able to slowly peruse a bookstore (without a face covering) is one of the things I’m most excited about for 2021. I didn’t realize how much I took that for granted- I hate buying stuff online. Additionally I’m excited for in-person book clubs with lots of snacks! Thank you for all your Julie chapters this past year – they were one of the few things that got me excited during dreary days.
Looking forward to hugging my 86 year old mother again…We are currently in lock down here in Ontario Canada…I haven’t seen my Mom in months due to covid and restrictions here….2021 can only be better *fingers crossed*
I have read and own all the books in your several series. From the start, you had me as an avid reader. I am 86 years old and have been reading sci-fi, fantasy for 70.Thank you for all the fun I have had reading your books and enjoying your graphics!
So without reading everyone else’s comments, I’m going to guess that I’m probably echoing everyone else when I say that, in 2021, I’m most looking forward to loosing myself in new stories from favourite authors and revisiting characters that feel like old friends 🙂
Luckily a lot of my favourites authors are due to release books throughout the year. Which I’m forever grateful for, as I suspect that these books will end up being drops of sanity, during what is likely going to be a continuation of a turbulent 2020 before we reach anything resembling a calm in the storm.
Opps forgot to say what i am looking forward to. At my age, waking up tomorrow is a big plus. Looking forward to lots of trips on city bus after i get my vaccine, i have been rigorous about isolating and stayin home in my tiny damn apartment and it is Shirley closing in on me, tighter and tighter, day after day, groundhog day syndrom in a hugely way.
My husband and I have been isolating since March 2020. I’m so looking forward to actually seeing my extended family face to face. I look forward to going thru stores, shopping for groceries, people watching and just being out in public. I look forward to going to the ocean, vacations and traveling. I will love sitting down with a friend and drinking coffee together along with conversation that is meaningful. I’m going to really enjoy going out to eat and not having to fix dinner.

Yay giveaway!!! The thing I’m looking forward to most this year is allowing myself a chance to take better care of my health, mentally and physically. While I don’t do resolutions, I do want to start treating myself better than I have been the past year or two. That means going to the doctor for physical ailments and setting up a meeting with a psychiatrist because I’ve decided I shouldn’t ignore things anymore. I have vowed to make 2021 my Adventure Year…..I’m purchasing an RV and going out to see my bucket list states while travel nursing!
Already bought an ebook, paperback and signed paperback copy. Will get the audio version when it’s released. Your novels have helped me get through this shitshow of 2020 (I have read/listened to them all at least 3x each…) and am hopeful that we can keep going strong for 2021 – there are good things to come dammit! My goal is that my family and I stay sane, healthy and hopefully a bit more prosperous than before.
(Oh, and as I am a librarian, I already made sure we purchased multiple copies and will spread the word. Like a librarian should do!)
Looking forward to connecting more with friends and family. 2020 showed me that even though we might live far apart, it’s surprisingly easy to connect.
I am most looking forward to In 2021 reading new books (thanks for giving me a reason to be so excited in Jan), and fingers crossed going to Ireland in Sep with my sister (25th birthday) and cousin.
Also I would love to go back to my office for work…I’m ready to no longer be sitting at my kitchen table.

I’m looking forward to my baby brothers wedding – which will hopefully still take place in September. They had to postpone it from November due to the pandemic.

My husband and I help run a small gaming convention that had to be cancelled last summer; I’m hopeful that this year we may be able to hold it, and looking forward to seeing friends and our comunity if it is safe to do so by summer.
So without reading everyone else’s comments, I’m going to guess that I’m probably echoing everyone else when I say that, in 2021, I’m most looking forward to loosing myself in new stories from favourite authors and revisiting characters that feel like old friends 🙂
Luckily a lot of my favourites authors are due to release books throughout the year. Which I’m forever grateful for, as I suspect that these books will end up being drops of sanity, during what is likely going to be a continuation of a turbulent 2020 before we reach anything resembling a calm in the storm.
I am looking forward to the vaccine. I’m hoping that my husband and I will be able to go on our mini vacation for our Anniversary. But it is dependent on the vaccine and outcome.
P.S. I decided to teach my self to knit because of reading your blog posts about it. I’ve only made a very simple scarf and not very well made ???? but I am enjoying it! My children are excited for me to make them scarfs. ????
My hope for 2021 is less uncertainty and more stability. A bit less turmoil and a bit more peace would be nice too.

I don’t know that I’m really looking forward to anything quite yet. Mostly I’m still cautiously waiting for things to quiet down and for us to be able to travel again before I really start looking forward and planning things.
I’m most looking forward to new opportunities in 2021. I’ve got some projects I’ve been working that I hope to finish, a new relationship and of course the new book in the Kate Daniels’ world! I reread this series at least once a year, so a new book it’s super exciting!
Being one of the fortunate residents of New Zealand, I’m looking forward to a month of travel around the country in our old and slow RV named (depending on how we feel) Ngāta Ara, Chateau Escargot, or Schnecke.

A lot of people have said it, but I am also looking forward to finally graduating in 2021. It’s been a long ride, but I’ll finally have my doctorate. I’m excited to enter the workforce and do something new. Academia can be such a drain after a while. There are other things I’m looking forward to, but after being so excited for 2020, I’m trying to shelter my little ’21 happy bubble.

Being able to do stuff with my Mom. She’s in a care facility. We did outdoor visits for a while in the summer, before everything went bad again. But I haven’t been able to take her out to lunch, or any of the other things we do together.

The end of the fear, of each other and the danger we may inadvertently pose to others. The ability to hug and shake hands again. The joy of smiling and laughing without a barrier or distance.
What I am looking most forward to in 2021 is hopefully some global healing.
I live in New Zealand and we are basically at normality again with no spread of Covid-19 and have been for a while but the news around the world is heart breaking not just concerning covid but conflicts that are causing mass displacment, human rights violations and horrible atrocities like those in Ethiopia and Yemen and the escalating global migrant crisis. So yeah hopefully 2021 will see some global healing happen and i really hope my government is going to step up, considering the privileged position we are in in regards to our covid response, and contribute to that healing.
So yeah will be advocating for increasing the national refugee quota and providing aid to groups like Open Arms who are trying to save people that most governments have decided to ignore in what I consider to be one of the largest examples of global apathy of our time.

I am looking forward to seeing my whole family in one place at one time.
Am at a year and counting since I last saw my mum. I am looking forward to when I can safely travel back to see her – and maybe even give her a hug! Escaping into great books is a nice way to spend time.

Well, my initial thought about 2021, was that I was looking forward to no more trump but then who knows if that will happen, same with end of virus. I guess that I am, not so much looking forward to but hoping for, more love and less hate in this country I love.
The thing I’m looking forward to the most in 2021 is meeting a friend I made through the Ilona Andrews Facebook group in the summer. We bonded over our love of all things House Andrews and cooking (okay eating ????) and she’s now my best friend! Having a friend like her has made lockdown so much easier, and I can’t wait to meet in person, eat good food and drink some cocktails ????

My hope for 2021 is to be able to safely take a vacation that isn’t just staying at home. I also look forward to being able to continue to watch my toddler grow. It’s amazing to see how quickly they change.

What I’m looking forward to in 2021 is getting a new job! I was retrenched at the start of 2020 with the first lockdown and it’s been a ROUGH 10 months to say the least but I’m so thankful that I made it and positive 2021 will only get better ❤❤
I’m looking forward to book releases with kick-ass heroines! I’m also looking forward to healing and being healthy. In October 2020 I became perilously ill, but after three major surgeries and seven IR procedures, I was finally able to come home to convalesce in December. Living is so, so sweet.
P.S. I heartily recommend re-reading all the Ilona and Gordon series when one is on the mend. They are so enthralling and entertaining, and those women with their trials inspired me to never quit.

What I am looking forward to most in 2021, is getting back to work. I work in theater and have been shut down since March, but there is hope of being onstage by June.

I’m most looking forward, in 2021, too being able to visit my family! Currently we are spread over northern Europe, The West Coast of the States and Central America and we none of us can travel and get physically together! My mother just turned 85(in a care facility in California) and I haven’t seen her in 18 months… I rally want to visit her and other loved ones! 🙂

What I am most looking forward in 2021…..travelling. Every year I attend an International Women’s Conference in March. Last March it was cancelled due to the pandemic and we already know for 2021 it will only be a virtual conference. I really miss it, friends that I only see once a year and now it will be at least another year before we can see each other in person.

The thing I’m most looking forward to in 2012 ( aside from the book release) is the Covid19 vaccine. The unofficial word is that we here in Canada should be well on our way by this autumn. So I am already planning a restaurant extravaganza and a proper Christmas celebration with family for 2021. Both things that I have missed in this past year.

In 2021 I’m looking forward to seeing my parents and Grandfather. On a normal year I drive the 12 hours from Texas to Kansas with my six kids to see them. I skipped this past summer and I miss sitting with my parents over a cup of tea.

The thing I’m looking forward to in2021 is finding the strength to deal with how much I miss my son Sean.
In 2021, I’m most looking forward to continuing some of the good habits I’ve started in the past 10 months, which mostly revolve around reclaiming and reframing how I use my time, and realizing that when I want to just sit on the couch, I should just sit on the couch!
There are so many things to which I am looking forward in 2021. I think my most personal “thing” would be getting the results from whole genome sequencing. I’ve been struggling for years with chronic illnesses that standard diagnostic tests fail to identify. My health has prevented me from finishing my PhD as well as any ambitions to go further in my career. A really nice New Year’s sale on whole genome testing with a rare disease report ended up being cheaper than insurance (and that’s after the battle to convince them to pay for it). So I’m looking forward to the results. I may not get an “answer” but I can at least remove some possibilities from the table and perhaps get more targeting symptom treatment.
Just wanted to say that your books have been a balm to my soul. The banter, laughter, love, and tears always helps me to forget my pain and visit another place in my head. In these COVID-afflicted times, your books have been more important to me than ever. I recommend them to everyone. Thank you for bringing such light into the world.

I started rereading/relistening to all the Kate Daniels’ again! Must be three or four times this year. I missed her world. Strange thing is that I never was a Julie fan, but after reading about the older Julie, I can’t wait for her and Derek to meet again. Hurry up January 12th!!

What I’m most looking forward to in 2021 is spring and the beginning of my work season. I teach gardening outdoors so covid doesn’t impact it too much. I can’t wait to teach kiddos to how to grow food again! Helping people design their gardens is good too 🙂

The chance for change is what I’m looking forward to most this year. I’m hopeful for my kids going back to school in person, myself rejoining the workforce, and for life to regain equilibrium for everyone- in whatever form works best for them.
