    • Yep, I had that with a previous book. I had finally convinced myself I needed a $75 book. But I backed out at the shipping cost.

    • No pressure to buy. 🙂 This is an expensive book for serious collectors. ::waves paws:: I think that after the book is release, there will be prints available, too, if you just want artwork and it’s much more reasonable.

    • It makes me feel like a teenager for wanting the artwork as posters to stick all over my bedroom wall

  20. I imagine Curran as Jason Mamoa, if you ever make a movie from Kate’s series please consider it????

    • I can see him as Hugh too. There are looks he gives in Aquaman that could be considered Hugh looks.

    • He would have to dye his hair for Curran.

      I can’t really get enthusiastic about Momoa since he got offended that his female costar was reading, and ripped pages out of her book. Dick move if ever there was one.

  29. Not at all how I visualize Curran. That’s what I love about books though. We can create our own mental picture of each character based on the author’s descriptions.

  31. It’s SO nice to see a depiction of Curran in his lion form as GRAY lion. I’d love to see a side view with the stripes, too! This is a fantastic image! Thank you for sharing!

    I have a pretty clear image of Kate in my head but Curran was pretty much just greyish blonde fur on legs, with a gaping maw who constantly roared. And yet I shipped the hell out of him and Kate. I might be an unconscious furry.

  38. I think that looks like Gordon! (I always suspected that K & C were based on I & G!) Ilona is probably an expert swordsman, too!

    • Or when Curran kept eating all the demi gods in Magic Triumphs. His hair got really long then.

  46. Reminds of the Rutger Hauer character in the original release of Blade Runner..near the end when he is in the rain.

    • Thank you!! I knew he reminded me of someone but was groping for who it was…Not really how I pictured Curran in my head, but then again it strikes a chord, so I may have to adjust my mental landscape 🙂

    • Stunning scene. Stunning Rutger. The only movie of him that I saw where they let Rutger act, which he could seriously do, and not just swing a sword and look gorgeous .

      • I thought Rutger Hauer did some fine acting in Ladyhawke, too. Although he was also gorgeous swinging his sword and, yum!, especially on that incredible horse of his. Actually, the best-looking male in that movie was Hauer’s stallion. Awesome.

  49. OMG, that is THE sexiest, most dangerously compelling image ever, ever, ever. Wow. I’ve gotta go back and read all the Kate/Curran books again, right this minute, with that image dominating the movie screen my mind. Wooooo (fanning self).

If I weren’t in the midst of dealing with an elderly father about to enter hospice due to stage 4 prostate cancer, a possible spread of my own cancer, and disability from spinal disease keeping me on a very fixed income from disability, I’d be all over buying a copy. The artist is tremendously talented and the artwork matches what I’ve pictured in my head when reading the stories. Fantastic job on bringing Kate and Curran to visual life and, of course, making already mesmerizing stories that much more vivid. Bravo to you all!

  61. Wow. I just can’t stop looking at it. This is everything Curran and I’ve just fallen in love with him all over again! The broken nose, the short hair, the ripped gray hoodie, and the EYES (on both man and lion). Ow, my heart.

    I wish the series wasn’t over. I long to read more about Kate and Curran and the crew. Makes my heart ache. That and I want to take a bath with Kate and Curran at the same time à la Magic Strikes, but not truncated.

  72. I’m late to the comment train here, but I wanted to say thank you for posting this. This art really helped me to visualize a character with whom I really had some trouble. Specifically, I couldn’t visualize the description that Curran also looked like he was a hair from violence and that he would be very competent in handling everything that came toward him. This art was really effective at communicating both of those things and I can now have a great picture of him in my mind when reading the books. Again, thank you!

    Rogan… i wish we could read his side of when they watch Cornelius’s Wife’s death, the charity gala Nevada breaking Vincent but most of all either when she wakes up with Rynda trying to get Connor back or the trials

    Alessandro… the trials or when he saw her profil and she deletes it. When he realise she is in the abandoned mall all alone….
