A certain Horde I know and love saw this and then decided their fellow BDH and House Andrews had to see it too.

So they shared it. And they shared it some more. Approximately 18 times an hour across email, Facebook, Instagram, and some very impressive astral projection straight to Nav.

    • Hugh’s book started out an April Fool’s joke. They found out what happens when they try to tease the Horde.

    • I think is name is Blake. He helped Nevada and Rogan at Sturm’s compound in Wildfire. We haven’t heard much more of him. Hmm…🤔

    • Must be a retcon. I have read Hidden Legacy and nowhere is there an uncle or brother in the Harrison family.

    I love the snippet too. HL is my favorite series, so little insights are little presents to me.
    Happy Thanksgiving! All of my family are gone but I am blessed with a good friend who has made me part of her ‘family’ and expects me to come on holidays. Besides fresh cranberry relish she asked to bring sweet potatoes. Found a really tasty recipe called Bourbon Sweet Potatoes – that you can substitute OJ for the bourbon. Not doing the topping, one person is allergic to nuts. I’m diabetic, so passing on the marshmallow toppings too. Very hard to find recipes for both no nuts and for diabetics. The search engines seem to think marshmallows are ok for diabetics. Go figure.

    • I don’t know how well it will be received if they’re expecting a sweet potato casserole, but in our house we make mashed sweet potatoes (fresh, boiled, and mashed with butter, salt, and pepper, no milk) topped with caramelized onions. It’s really yummy and has no added sugar or nuts. Might need to ask the hostess though (if she’s already doing mashed potatoes, she might not want it). 🤗

  84. This was such a cute tidbit. Love it 🙂 I always viewed ferrets as just another type of possum lol that is until I watched PirateSoftware and his rescue. They like all animal trades have been horrifically treated. Do you research for any new pet and try to adopt where possible.

    • I’m guessing that is Diana’s and Cornelius’s brother, which I assume Matilda perceives as wolf-like

  88. Ahhhh, that was so sweet and a perfect Thanksgiving treat!! It made me realize I need to go back and reread the series again. As I get older (late 70’s) and with our crazy times, I find I have trouble reading books that have too much suspense or constant wallowing around in the character’s mind. And I think, why can’t they write more like Ilona Andrews! Somehow you two manage to engage me on multiple levels, plot, action, characters and humor! I am sooooo looking forward to the Kingdom release, and knowing it’s a really long book so my Andrews high will last for several days!!

    • Cornelius, the animal mage, and his daughter Matilda, also an animal mage. Cornelius ran the Great Ferret Heist in Nevada Baylor’s Hidden Legacy series (books 2 & 3), and then started working in the family’s detective firm.

I too remember the safe feeling of being around my dad. I’m missing him and my mama today especially. I’m very thankful I had them in my life.

  120. Ferrets are extremely intelligent. The gov has used them in the past. Ferrets die young because of diet. They need an extremely high protein and not cat food. I had one the vet aged at 25 He died at 27. The vet in Florida is a specialist on ferrets and taught me a lot with mine.

  123. Nope not a fan of the video. When he pushes the ferret down the hole, and the ferret was trying to push back to not go in the hole, and the man pushed him down into it anyways, that was the moment I said nope bad video. Don’t force the ferret to do human stuff it doesn’t need to be doing. There are tools and other ways to run the line.

  136. My parents did something similar with our cat Panther. Tied a string around his neck, popped him into one hole in a wall, headed over to another hole and called him. Untied thread, tied it to conduit and pulled it back through.

    I love all the Baylors and their extended family (which includes everyone who lives on the compound as well as some who do not) so much.

    Matilda is fascinating and I hope to read her grown-up adventures one day. See, in my head there will be three Arabella books (with maybe a transitional novella between Catalina’s last book and the start of Arabella’s), also an Augustine novella (or novel) and possible sequels for that, then Leon’s book(s) because you KNOW we need to see him get his true love, then Matilda’s books, and we just go on and on into forever. Arthur will be old enough to be a POV character one day…

    I know, I know. TYPICAL Horde behavior! You give us a fun snippet and we confabulate that into a whole series of new novels as if you announced them in a press release! 🙂

  153. I need more of Cornelius, we need side novellas about his family. Them becoming closer, wasn’t his sister dating Augustine. He has a brother too, I need to read about him, what does he do. They all need to find love lol. It could be a trilogy 3 siblings.
