German-speaking BDH, deutsche Maggie has arrived!
Officially, the German edition of THIS KINGDOM WILL NOT KILL ME from Cove Verlag releases on September 25th. Unofficially, no one keeps Maggie in a corner!
Copies are already making their way into readers’ hands, and the hardcover is currently showing as available to order from German retailers like Thalia and international ones like Blackwell’s.
Please do check the language before ordering – although the publishers have made the decision to preserve the original title, this edition has German translation text inside. Availability and international shipping will depend on the retailer and destination.
The German edition is a deluxe hardcover, with specially designed dustjacket and themed sprayed edges. I particularly love this inscription, which my rudimentary Siebenbürgisch-Sächsisch tells me says: “This isn’t a story. This is reality”.
Going to the Frankfurt Book Fair?
There’s an extra treat for anyone attending the Frankfurt Book Fair, October 7–11.
Cove are bringing a giant 3D version of the book to their photo spot in Hall 4.0, J2, so visitors can quite literally step into Maggie’s world!
Judging by the preview, it is large enough to accommodate even the BDH Higgra-like instinct of immediately climbing onto things. We want all the attentions! If any of you are going to Frankfurt, please take pictures so we can vicariously enjoy the giant Kair Toren.

But you’d really be saving money, Mod R. It could be used as your new wallpaper! (I’m not advocating to destroy a book, I’m going off the thought that it’s not a full book, just the pretty bit for photos.)

I don’t normally bother with German translations from English but I think this might be the exception.
I wonder if they translate the word names, and we will have Klee instead of Clover.
