Dear BDH,
We know you love merchandise. It’s fun.
You know we hate doing merchandise. It takes a long time and a lot of effort, and it’s stressful.
We don’t have the time or the bandwidth to deal with the merchandise this year, although we may reopen briefly for broken mug replacement. (To put things in perspective, we make about $5 on each mug, so it’s not exactly a money machine, but we had people write us with pictures of sad broken mugs, so we will try to remedy that.)
In an effort to find a middle ground, we decided trying to license our merch to a vendor. Here is the first of these vendors: B. A. Bookish Boutique. It’s a small business run by a family out of Kentucky. You will see some of our familiar designs at their store and some of the new ones. Because of the recent release of Arcane Hidden Legacy edition, they decided to concentrate first on Hidden Legacy designs with some BDH merch available as well.
B. A. Bookish Boutique is a separate business from us. This means that we have nothing to do with quality or order fulfillment. We license the designs to them, approve the art and quotes, and collect a small percentage of the profits. That’s it. We outsourced it.
We did do our due diligence and have contracts and agreements, and we have made every possible effort to make sure that B. A. Bookish Boutique will take good care of you, but you are ordering at your own risk.
Mod R, in her wisdom, anticipated a list of questions from you:
- international orders
- delivery before Christmas
- refunds policy
- customized items
- sizing (measurements)
- designs
- item quality
- discount codes if applicable
We can’t answer any of it. Please direct all queries to B.A. Books through their Contact page.
What if I get an item and I don’t like the quality?

Love this! unfortunately they only carry up to 2XL in tees. But cute stuff!
I saw the t-shirt size up to 4X when I ordered mine this morning.
they are up to 4xl. but take care when measuring, as I had measured my chest size as per the image, but it might have to be a flat t-shirt size that’s measured, it can give you really different sizes by a factor or two. this might be where one of my old BDH orders went wrong -which I now uses as night dresses 🙂
That’s why the circumference measuring is much more accurate than side to side measuring. 😄

thank you for sorting that out. the internal shipping fees for the UK around £16 for basic first class or 27 or so for DHL, don’t seem to bad if you’re buying more then one item (and we’re the horde, tempted by all items so that’s not too hard to fulfil). seems like a lovely start up.
I have emailed the duo some clarification questions on sizes though, and can see that others have mentioned sizes too. As the sizes seem to be the Asian based sizes rather then European or states based given the categories. So just waiting for the response and might have to take one for the team to test it depending on the response from B&A Bookish

I went to the site and bought two t-shirts. One was the “Margaret” t-shirt. The other was “It’s a Good Day for a Ferret Heist”.
The t-shirt sizing measurements show from side to side, not the entire circumference. If you need the entire circumference measurement, multiply what is shown by 2.
I learned to do that when buying sweaters that only show the measurements from side to side. Works every time.
thank you so much, the sizes were throwing me off. I’d give back to them with a second question. also the size chart is based on a “standard” mans fit. so if you measure a body with the extra bits that a lot of the population have, the figures can vary widely 😆

Hi – posting this to give you feedback on BA Bookish as a vendor. I ordered (within the USA) on Dec 1st and the charge has hit and posted to my credit card. Since then, nothing despite message saying 5-7 business days. The only way to “track” my order is through downloading a separate app and when I tried to contact BA Bookish, there is a message that they are on a pause in order to fulfill orders. Hopefully this is a temporary setback as they face the reality of the BDH, but overall, this feels sketchy and it’s difficult to follow up regarding my order. Again, not posting to get anyone at IA to take action, but strictly as feedback for when you’re looking at other potential vendors in the future or determining whether to renew your contract with BA Bookish.

Thank you for your feedback, but they are doing exactly what they said they would do. Their fulfillment policy was front and center on their site and should be in the email you received confirming your order. To clarify: They take orders for two weeks, then they close, print everything, and ship them out. As far as I know, nothing shady is happening.
When you go to their site, you will see this message:

Apologies for missing that they would close the store front. I was confused because my order confirmation email has nothing on closing the store to fulfill the orders and the only thing in the email that indicates timing is 5-7 business days shipping.
