Hi everyone, Mod R here, happy Friday!
Today, I serve as Herald for House Andrews, who send apologies that they cannot be here to entertain you, but they are knee-deep in rewrites. The first beta and specialist feedback for Magic Claims landed last night, you see.
I love this period in a book’s life the most, which is of course very easy to say since I don’t actually have to figure out any of the edits and rewrites. I just get to talk to a load of very interesting people from all walks of life; see how their brains and emotional responses work, which insights and interpretations they get from the book; and then witness House Andrews work their magic and provide solutions in real time to any issues uncovered. And all from the comfort of my own laptop screen, like a lazy drone feasting on everyone’s hard work honey. This, my friends, is the life.
I suppose technically I am busy too, but it’s the kind of busy that energises you the more you accomplish, because it’s just so gosh-darned exciting. And to keep with the very tortured by now beehive metaphor, you will all get to see the results, which are the bee’s knees! June is so near.
I also promised I will remind everyone who registered that there is a virtual event tomorrow, Saturday, April 22nd at 4 pm ET with Jeaniene Frost, Ilona and Gordon, organised by Ashland Library, to celebrate the release of BOTH FEET IN THE GRAVE. If you did not get a space, but would still like to catch up with the authors, the program will be available on the Ashland Library’s YouTube Channel. If you would like to receive the video link directly, please fill out this form and Ashland will email you as soon as it’s ready to watch.
If you would like a signed book by one of the authors (meaning with a bookplate attached to the first page), you can order them through the event page at Aesop’s Fables, the independent bookstore partner of the chat. Personalization is not possible unfortunately, as the bookplates are sent ahead of time, but here is everyone’s chance to get signed copies for their collections! For any inquires linked to orders, please contact Aesop’s Fable directly.

There are a lot of smaller colleges. I had a cousin who worked for Milliken so her kid could go for free. Bradley University also had the free tuition for employees kids after 4 years. Illinois is a reasonably nice place to live.

Thanks Mod R for all the delicious nectar you bring to the BDH hive by giving us updates. Busy little bee! 🐝🌷
Hopefully the edits and rewrites go smoothly. Maybe someone wanted clams to go with the story. 🤣⚔️

Thanks for the reminder, Mod R. We love you and appreciate all your hard work!

Looking forward to the transcript, ModR. Thanks in advance. 😀
Moderator R says
Hi Megan, I’m not moderating this, Ashland Library and the lovely Meena are the hosts. I won’t be making a transcript, it’s their recording and everything! 🙂

Buzz buzz buzz! Looking forward to the chat video. Thanks Mod R for the link to be emailed.

Herald for House Andrews? Does this mean you will become their Warlord?
Cool!
Alisa says
not sure where to ask this. I’ve just finished the 6 books in the Hidden Legacy series, will there be more?
Moderator R says
Hi Alisa!
This is the perfect place to ask 🙂.
Firstly, I want to mention that there is a transition novella in the series, so there are 7 books, just in case you missed it: https://ilona-andrews.com/hidden-legacy-books/#diamond
The possibility of a Hidden Legacy sequel has been discussed, namely a series following Arabella’s adventures, 5-6 years in the future of Ruby Fever. Nothing has been confirmed officially, however 🙂.
At the moment, Ilona Andrews are not announcing future projects unless they are in the final stages of a manuscript and can roll out the preorder. This is in order to manage both workload and reader expectation. The current offering is the Wilmington Years, a series in the Kate Daniels world.
Judy Suds says
I just reread all Kate’s books and Julie’s. I can’t remember what was said about Julie’s book being before or after Kate’s Wilmington books. I thought Conlan was 8 in Wilmington books. How old is he in Julie’s book? Thanks for all you do Mod R
Moderator R says
The Wilmington years series happens 2 years before Blood Heir (Julie’s book).
Conlan is roughly 10 or about to turn it when we get back to Atlanta. 🙂

I loved the zoom last Saturday.
And OMG OMG OMG another Zoom on June 21 with IA and Nalini Singh!!
IA have been my greatest Paranormal love since years, but Nalini was my first.
Less than 2 months to go and counting.

I don’t really understand what Moderator R function is. What do they do?
Sechat says
Moderator R is the BDH tamer, the admiral of the House Andrews flotilla, and all-around gracious host.
jing says

did not get the schools name but the effort lol
Sarada Thomas says
Please, forgive the pushiness; I am curious about how one might become a member of the beta reader or specialist groups. Is there
Moderator R says
Hi Sarada,
If you mean for House Andrews in particular, please keep an eye out for announcement posts on the blog which search for betas or specialist consultants.
If you are interested and have beta experience or a particular field of expertise, you can also drop me an email at modr@ilona-andrews.com detailing what it. I will save your contact in my Experts folder reach out when the need arises 😊
