::Looking over massive amount of BDH suggestions and questions::
Mod R helpfully summarized some of them for us.
Roughly 1 in every 3 comments and most of the people who sent emails made the request for more fiction over any other topic. New serial, snippets, bonus scenes, alternate character POVs, deleted scenes, short stories. They explicitly miss having a new installment to anticipate every week, or even every month.
We are going to try to reinstate the Fiction Serial.
For the new members of the Horde, we will be posting a rough draft of a story. It will be posted once a week (sometimes twice, but usually once.) It will contain grammatical errors and other issues that occur in the rough draft.
Once finished, the posts will stay up for a couple of weeks to let everyone catch up and then will be archived. The story will be then edited and published. The final may vary significantly from what you read on the blog. We try to keep the plot and the main scenes the same, but the final book might have more scenes and edited dialogue, etc.
The fun of the serials is that people get something to look forward to, they can freely discuss it in the comments, and the likes and dislikes of the readers influence the flow. If BDH loves a particular character, they will get more page time. For example, in The Inheritance, Elias evolved into a full fledged character because BDH went, “Ooooo!”
The downside of the serials is that it is the first draft. A lot of times you will be reading something that was written that morning.
First drafts are kind of fragile and easily murdered by harsh feedback. That means that we ask you to not be overly critical in the comments. You can’t create and edit at the same time. Comments like, “This is a waste of time. I don’t know why anyone would like this. I hate it” will be removed. It’s counterproductive to making words go.
Also, we have a lot of irons in the fire. There will be times when we have to skip a week, so we want to be clear that everyone goes into this with the understanding that there can’t be a meltdown if the post doesn’t appear on schedule.
We are not yet sure which serial will be happening. We are going to try and sketch a few ideas in the next couple of weeks and see which one goes. The serial has to be fun and easy to write because it is a bonus project. As cheesy as it sounds, we need to be inspired.
Contractual work is not always inspired. Sometimes it’s written because it needs to be written. I know for a fact that the readers can’t tell when something is very difficult to write and when something just fell out of you, but the serial cannot feel like slogging through mud for us. It must come from a place of fun and be low pressure, or we will quit writing it.
We are going to try to begin the serial sometime in November. We need to write ahead enough to make sure the concept makes sense and leave ourselves some breathing room.
Gordon is strongly in favor of a sequel to Inheritance. My fear is that it will grow. If you are new to our blog, the veteran Horde members will explain it in the comments. When I say something is a short story, people start hysterically laughing. We don’t really have room in our schedule for something that is too long. So please understand that the serial may go on for months and may not have a firm publication date.
So I am off to try to write some opening chapters with Gordon.
Writing Together
On that note, we have gotten the perennial question of how do we write together. We sit at the same desk like so:

I dictate, Gordon types. He often alters what I dictate as it goes onto the page because sometimes I dictate nonsense. If you like writing fiction, try dictating a scene. It feels very different from writing it, and it’s kind of hard to do. It’s a whole different skillset.
Funny story: one time we were at a convention – I want to say NY Comicon, for some reason – and we were on a panel with several SF and Fantasy writers. They asked us to do a story, where everyone add a little bit as it goes. So people start.
“He took his sword.”
“He went outside.”
And it comes to me and I’m like, “The sunset bled crimson on the mountain, the glowing orbs of the twin suns shining like raw wounds in the fabric of the heavens…”
The looks I got, hehehe. It wasn’t because I was that high speed; it’s just because I’ve trained myself to dictate. It requires an adjustment.
We don’t write scenes separately. Everything that goes into our books is the result of a compromise and a joint effort.
Each of us has separate strengths. I’m better with description. Gordon is better with natural dialogue. The mannerisms and romantic lines from the male POV are almost always coming from Gordon. So when Everard says something like “Use me. Let me be your shield,” or Erodel puts on his glove before the fight, that is Gordon in action. I tend to do the majority of female character lines.
We do fight scenes together. It is a very slow process with much reenacting and video watching. It usually takes all day for a two page fight scene.
We also have assistants.

As you can see, Tubby’s level of the Bulldog Sadness is epic. Tuna is doing his trademark, ‘You have worked enough” move.
The other two, Nykie and Batty, are asleep, so I didn’t take pics.
This year took three elderly pets away from us. It’s been a little difficult. We are down to two dogs and two cats. And that is all I will say about that.
So back to the subject, we write side by side, but we edit separately. Each of us takes an editorial pass, because editing by committee is impossible.
We are boring. We rarely have dramatic fights about writing, although we do occasionally throw fits, when things aren’t going well and neither one of us is sure what the problem is. Usually one of us declares that they are just done for the day and we quit and do something else while the story sorts itself out in the background.
So that’s that. We will have more fun stuff for you this week as Halloween draws near.

thank you so much
Certified first!
omgosh never have I ever 🙂
First?
So close! This is what I get for reading the full post first haha.
First?
Please give us more innkeeper chronicles, it’s my favorite audiobook series ever. I need more Dina and Sean.
Yesssss!
If I recall, we were in the middle of planning a wedding…
YESSSSS!!!! Last short was Maud and Armand’s wedding prep and I’m thinking “Maud needs to invite Dina. She and Sean (and Gertrude Hunt) would be very good in a monster fight!”
where did I miss this? or was this the scene with Klaus?
I didn’t read about wedding preparations though?
And the Inn now connects to that particular world where Maud and Arland are, doesn’t it? No space ship trip for the wedding! Of course, if the next book is the series finale and tying everything together from the missing parents to the guy set to destroy inns and innkeepers and who knows what all else, I don’t know if we’ll get it as a serial. I would be very happy to see it but I would be almost as happy with Inheritance 2. I am fairly certain we won’t get Hugh 2 as a serial since Hugh 1 was not.
Yes yes yes!
This was going to be my request.
Yessssss please!❤️ it’s my favorite too!

yasssssss I can only reread the existing books so many times! neeeeed more Innkeeper!
Dina, Sean, Maud, Gertrude Hunt, George – all of them, and some vampires
*jumping up and down*
Yes, please! And please save Gerard and Helen, their parents so they can come to the wedding.
yes, more maud n dina …
n what did klaus say?
I agree. More Innkeeper. Ilona and Gordon got me through the pandemic and rereading/listening to the canon is getting me through the election. But I definitely need more Innkeeper!
So excited for new serial! ‘Use me, let me be your shield’ is also very Arland to Dina in the first two innkeepers.
They are both knights. Except that Arland means that literally and nothing is ever literal with Ramond.
This intrigues me more than I can say. Thank you for a brief insight into his character!
thank you.
Ohh sounds exciting, I’m looking forward to the serial! Please take all the time needed, it’ll be worth it ^^!
Yes! What Chloé said!
Yes!!!
Thank you for this insight! I learned something new today about the process (yay). I’ve always been advised to read writing out loud, but never thought of dictating it to myself in rounds 1-3 (I do not have a battle buddy, as my darling fur child cannot and would not type even if she had thumbs).
Love you guys!
yay, thanks!
Huzzah!
Thank you for your, gosh, inexhaustible well of kindness! (So grateful!)
This is so exciting! I LOVED The Inheritance, I can’t WAIT for more!
Looking forward to whatever you will write – although a sequel to Inheritance would be really nice…

The Inheritance, from my perspective, really doesn’t seem like a 2 book series, especially with the introduction of a certain species…
+1 This has so much potential…
Thank you! This is something I wonder about all the time.
This made my day! I am so excited for anything and everything you write! Although, if you happen to be excited to write another short story about Ada, Bear, and Elias….😁
+1
+1 😁
Reading about your process is fascinating!
I’d be happy with anything you choose to serialize. But also the HOLD that The Inheritance had over my life can never be overstated. I gobbled it up it in serial form, but I’ve also re-read the book several times.
+1
SAME! Loved it and love it still!
+1! I love the Inheritance soooo much and I have so many questions about what could happen next!
+1 Definitely! anything is welcome but I reread Inheritance ALL THE TIME!
+1
Me, too, Jess!!
I am just thrilled for the prospect of a new serial! Whatever inspires y’all will be received with great rejoicing! Yippee!
Wow, oh wow, Im near the too! I dont think I’ve ever been near the first page before.
THANK YOU, Ilona and Gordon!! I never got around to responding on the Horde has the Floor page, but more snippets, bonus scenes, POVs and serials, etc etc is exactly what my first choice(s) would’ve been.
Also I am very glad to hear how your process works. I like all the subjects you cover, so please continue as you prefer.
Sigh…. Should say “near the *top…”
And I also want to say Thank You! to Mod R, who is uber competent at everything, especially Horde Wrangling, Steve Roping…. And she’s funny, too!
+1
Everything is better with Mod R keeping us in line!❤❤
Same!
Thank you SO much for the team writing insight! I have always wondered if the male quips that I enjoy so much were heavily influenced by Gordon and now I know lol.
Super excited for any fiction you decide to gift to us!!
I had no idea how your writing process went, and that is so interesting! And I love that each of you contributes to the dialogue depending on the character.
Thank you for describing how you work together, I’ve always wondered about the details, other than the fight scenes you’ve discussed before.
Thank you for sharing more about how you write together. I feel that your books are so well written and thought out. They actually transport me to another universe and the thought that both of you contribute your strengths makes sense to me. Thank you for creating such extraordinary characters that make me want to re-read every book again for the first time. I’m looking forward to the serials, but I love the behind the scenes look into your work also!
+1
100% agree!
Hi Gorden, Ilona and ModR (salutations are alphabetical, not in order of importance)
I did not comment on the suggestions blog, as I try to be a polite and p*tient member of the BDH, and I was considering suggesting a beach holiday with photos of feet in sand and colourful drinks shared, but I value my life and also my own ability to w*it.
But, and take this in the line of suggestions that I hope this will spark something interesting for you, since you mentioned the word **serial**, I can imagine Arabella’s story being presented in the form of a series of novellas, rather than a full-fledged trilogy, and those being serialised as time and other commitments allow. This would allow you to start anywhere after Beast Business that you feel like picking up her story. Augustine and Diana novellas, or Bern and Runa or any of the other HL characters would also be loved and devoured. Similarly, I can imagine that we would all give body parts for an Inheritance serial.
Personally, I am a major fan of Maud, Arland and Helen, and perhaps a serial of their own wedding shenanigans might tickle your fancy. I cannot imagine that Kate and Curran are really serial material, but if that gentle doubt sparks your need to prove me wrong, I would not be at all sad.
With the BDH here to provide you free and eager inspiration, I feel certain that you are overcome with inspiration 😂 But you would certainly have to sacrifice all sleep to keep up with the level of demand.
+1
to all of it ^^

(and nicely offered, Lynda!)

Maud’s wedding should be an easy short serial, right? Some ripper cushions and a little invasion by a mysterious dragon species. Not much to it.
Willing to negotiate about more Elias and Ada as well! Or Augustine and Diana!
Yay! Something to look forward to in the dark of winter!
You two could write haiku, and 5 years later it will have evolved into a novel.
I’m here for it. 🙂
P.S. it would be fun to see occasional snippets of Orro being introduced to earth culture.
Hahahaha yes haiku to novel!
Excited for possibility of serial! I hope you find something that is fun for you to write. I will be happy with whether it is!
I do love Lynda’s suggestion of photos of feet in sand or anything else that would be relaxing for you.
All the hugs for the lost pets. 😔
Looking forward to this, and no negatives, just gratitude. We know you are busy.
+1
I would love some POV scenes from Clover. She’s so integral to running the house and I think she would be fun for small snippets of things that happened in the first book. Especially scenes like the breakfast after the failed Butcher fight.
But will there be SPACE CHICKENS?
????? indeed!!!! ?????
Thank you! I’m so excited 💜
EEEEKKKKK I VOTE FOR GORDON’S VOTE
Your fear is our hope😉
Love serials!! Can’t wait to read it all, thank you for listening to your fans and seeing our love for your work.
Oh my stars!!! A SERIAL!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!! I will be fluffy, I will be pa**ent, it’s basically a superpower, you know ;-). I will not immediately start expecting it, estimating time and counting days… no uh, not me! – did I mention pa***nt?
Also +1 for Inheritance OR Innkeeper :-D.

This is why you are my favorite authors. You spoil us so much! Thank you
Oof losing three pets this year is really rough regardless of them being oldies. Lots of sympathy and I hope the rest are not too distressed as well.
Despite being a Horde member for some time I am still amazed by your generosity, and I’ll happily read what you write for us – if it’s fun for you to write it will be fun to read.
When I lost both my grandpa and two cats within a year, I went slightly to pieces. Lasted two weeks, got a 16w old kitten from a farm and sat there on the couch. The kitten was hiding below the couch and crying for mummy for the first day and I couldn’t take it at all. So glad he was really big enough to to set out on his own and not miss mum for long – he stopped crying at all after the second day and was snuggling up to me by the end of the first day – don’t know how people can take home 10-12w old kittens! But yeah, losing pets can be so hard. Still, zero regrets, cats for life 😀
Wow! Looking forward to a new serial. I will enjoy anything, but I am hankering for Puffles!
+1 Puffles but good with anything too
+1
+1
My immediate thought was PUFFLES serial please please please!
Yes please PUFFLES or Innkeeper
Puffles for the win!
Broke my heart to hear about your losses. My cat, who was rescued at about 5 weeks old, just turned 19. she is a spry, mostly deaf, little old lady and I am her emotional support person.🐈⬛
+ 1000🫶
I send my condolences on the passing of your pets. Big hugs all around. Good news on a potential new serial!
I’ve been obsessed with the snippet about Delia and her dog, Cake. I hope we’ll get more of that story in the future!
Yes this is what I’m hoping for, though I’ll happily take anything, The Inheritance or Innkeeper will be nice 2nd and 3rd choices
A new serial?best news ever! I absolutely adore House Andrew‘s serials.
Inheritance was the first serial I had to catch up on, and its probably my least favorite book but Im willing to give a sequel a try. Obviously Im rooting for Inkeeper or Hugh 2.
HUGH. I was restraining myself, but am weak.
Batty was cute with the pumpkins.
Agree, Hugh please
Hi Anna
The first IA serial I ever ran into was Innkeeper 1 – Clean Sweep (and I LOVED it!), and were blessed with other Innkeeper serials there-after, so if Innkeeper is your jam you may just get lucky!
Y’all are the absolute BEST! I was having a tough day dealing with some very sad news, and this post brightened my day in a major way. Thank you so very, very much! I love everything you write. More of the Inheritance would be fabulous, or anything else you decide to do!
And here I was, not commenting on that post asking what the horde wanted to see on the blog…cause my only response was… “Give us story, please. Feed me!” and that wasn’t one of the options listed.
Lawd, I love the Horde.
So, looking forward to more. Yes, please listen to Sir Gordon, The Inheritance 2 would be a good place to start. I almost promise not that whine and complain for more, more, more… and, we totally trust you to keep the story small for this 5+ part series. You’ve got this!
Unless, you are feeling some ripper-cussions brewing, if so…have at it.
The Horde is here. The Horde is patie….uhmm…
eager to delight in whatever treat you offer us .
Serious note, I am sorry to learn of the loss of your furry friends. Losing’s pieces of your heart and family is never easy. I pray continued comfort for you both.
+1!!!
Wonderful news! Thank you.
Squee!!! New serial inbound. ❤️
So excited for anything and everything you write.
I also love that is what you mean by you write together. I could never really wrap my mind around how that worked out- makes so much more sense now…
Thank you. You are both so very good to us!
If you still count votes:
Inheritance… as it has finally a mature female able fighter who does NOT swoon (one of the reasons I am not that much of a fan of the Hidden Legacy books, Catalina’s books the least of them)
I hope for more of her in action, but also interaction with her kids. And the dog…. It feels like RL reactions, descriptions in a way (if there would be a situation like that), way more mature, natural, way less over the top ❤️-reactions like so (too) often in other books.
It’s actual my number 1 book (of authors still alive, not comparable to me with author’s of the e.g. 19” century, as the styles are not comparable in general), followed by the Kate Daniels series / world. Then a few other authors, then back to IA:
As I see the overlap to Innkeeper and there is still so much to find there (parents, the bad behind al that, invasion, wedding, hints on why Dina’s Lees might be the enemies of Ada’s Lees), I actually see that too as something to be exited about, but prefer early Maud over early Dina slightly.
Not meant as a ‘demand’, just to give a little insight into one reader, if at all interested into such things.
Oh man inLOVE HIDDEN LEGACY and it’s magical world
Same!
+1
I love the family, the world and the trilogy within the larger series format.
It doesn’t matter what you write. I will love it. Your books and stories bring me joy
+1
Looking forward to reading the new serial! 💜
Love this!!! Thank you so much❤️💜🩷
I’ve always wondered how you guys wrote together ever since I learned that both of you write every book. That’s so cool (and adorable) that you support each other’s weaknesses and rely on each other’s strength. I can’t imagine what sitting at the same screen everytime must be like, that’s wild. Thanks for including how the magic is done!
P.S. Just know there’s a feral part of me going nuts about futures serials; ignore her, she’s crazy lol
P.P.S. Sending many hugs, good thoughts, and gratitude. You guys have been incredible and done so much for us in the face of everything, I’m so grateful. You’ll always be one of my top favorite authors!
So sorry for your loss, it’s always hard to lose a loved furbaby. It’s fascinating what you do and I know that I would be so very happy with any little morsels of goodness that you guys write. Inheritance is my favorite book , please, please, please write more. 😊
y’all are awesome! we are so grateful for everything you do!!!
Thank you so much! We know (I mean we don’t really know) but we know how much time, work, and love you put into your stories, and it means the world to us that you are willing to add a serial to your already busy schedule just because the Horde demands more words to devour!
I am team more Inheritance! Love it so much! Enjoy everything y’all write though!
Thank you so much for the gifts!
I am sorry about your pets. Losing them is always hard and sad. 😔
Whooooop! I am so happy! Thank you thank you thank you so much in advance. I love looking forward to whenever the serial sections show up. And I’m with Gordon on the Inheritance, but you know darn well it will grow. So do whatever you have both time for and interest in. Did I mention I’m so happy! And thank you?!!!
So very sorry for your losses of all the much loved fur babies. It absolutely never is easy.
yaay..we are getting a serial. Is it going to be inheritance?? Something to look forward to
“ We are not yet sure which serial will be happening. We are going to try and sketch a few ideas in the next couple of weeks and see which one goes.”
from the article above
More Inheritance would make me very happy!
The female.. ” Oh you idiot..” type lines are always my favorite, because it is exactly how I would react in thise moments.
Is this a Gordon or Ilona thing?
I am excited for more serial, and promise that I will be patient and enjoy as it comes, because I understand what words like “bonus” and “other things come first” mean.
My first hope is always for more Arabella POV, but Inheritance is awesome, and an Innkeeper interlude would be awesome, and … well, there’s probably not much that wouldn’t be awesome. See also first paragraph.
Never want to pass up the opportunity to express my gratitude to your generosity.
In my Mater voice, “I knew I made the right choice in my favorite authors.”
Thank you
Once again, making my dreams and wishes come true! Thank you for anything, EVERYTHING! I’m sooo happy feeling sooo lucky!
yay! I am always so happy to read anything you will write.
Although, my one request is that you not start a new storyline. Please, please finish one of them. I don’t care which one, Arabella, Roman, Inheritance, Hugh or Julie, I will gladly read anything you write even if it was written on a bar napkin & scanned onto the blog.
(Oh, dear. I may have a teeny, tiny obsession.)
Ooohh, I hadn’t thought about a Sanctuary sequel! That would be fun, too. Ada/Bear/Elias vs Roman/Andora. Tough choice for me 🤣.
It’s not an obsession, just a healthy (devouring) appetite, totally appropriate for the Horde!
Please and thank you for more “Inheritance”
Inheritance sequel!! yasssss!
Squeeeeeeee!
Thank you so much for sharing! I love the serials but I also hope you guys still have time to rest and recuperate ❤️
Thank you so much! Your serials always were such a welcome treat! How about more Tower Tuesdays? Luther is always such a delight.
I’m so glad, I wasn’t the only one who say that short snippet as a start to new serial.
Tower Tuesdays was totally a thing in my mind. 🤣
Can’t wait for the new serial to start! so many great worlds to choose from. A further tease on the Hugh book? A peek at what Kate and Curran are up to? Julie and Derek? Dina and Sean? Some extracurricular Maggie story? Whatever it is, it will be good.
I am with Gordon! More Inheritance would be amazing, but thank you for whatever you decide.
I am so excited I don’t even know what to do with myself.
squeegee! A new serial! I’m looking forward to it!
Yesssssss! I loved the inheritance but I loved all your books. I will be happy with anything! A weekly serial is so much fun. I read Batman: Wayne Family Adventures as it is re-released on dc go and I always look forward to it. Now I have something else to look forward to!! so excited!
Would love to see more Inheritance-fairly new Horde member here, have spent much time in rereads in Maggie’s head-physical book and audiobook-and Maggie2 seems so far away right now. Such a treat you offer to give us something fun to experience in a serial format. Winter is long here in Indiana. Thank you for your engagement with us readers so kind and thoughtful! Sorry for your pet losses-it’s tough with as important as our furry friends become to us.
Love the peek behind the curtain!
Someone said they second Gordon’s vote… that made me ponder… what if you did a short story from Elias’ POV, as you did a bit in the book?
Not concurrent with the Inheritance but in a bit between it and the sequel (or in line with the sequel)? Maybe as he’s trying to figure out what’s going on with Ada and Bear… she’s assigned to his team for a breach and he re-arranges it so HE is on the team and they fight together…. just a suggestion trying to fan those creative flames… You probably already have something roughed out and are laughing while rubbing your hands together in maniacal glee.
new serial fantastic – i didn’t write that down because you have so much going on and i didn’t want to push, but wow THANKS – these are such treats
I am so very sorry for your losses.
not to be dramatic but I have literally grown up with your books. I spent a summer in high school reading all your series through the night for like weeks straight.
I’ve loved everything you’ve ever written but Inheritance brings me right back to those 4am summer mornings from more than a decade ago. it’s somehow so special to me. I would be over the moon if you did its sequel next.
I love the blog, but I especially love the blog on a serial high! The speculation, comments, ripper-cushions, and all that goes into it have made me snort my drink way too many times. So yippee to maybe a serial!
This is not a demand! Please don’t take this as a demand, it just reminded me. But what happened with Iron and Magic 2?
I missed a whole bunch of blog posts (a whooooooole bunch) and don’t know if it was in there, but does anyone know if it died, or if it is on sabbatical or if it’s just being prepped for publication?
Ta muchly.
There is no official news. A sequel in the series is expected 🙂
Back burnered because it was simply taking too much time away from contract work.
I think, if I remember correctly, Wilmington #3 needs to be written for Hugh’s second book to make sense.
If I’m mistaken, please correct me. 😊
Very close 😉
It’s Blood Heir 2 that needs Wilmington 3 first to connect a few threads about the Pack situation first.
Hugh 2 still takes place before Magic Triumphs, so it’s about 9 years ahead of the Wilmington Years, it wouldn’t depend on them 🙂
Yay!!!!
I love love love how you take care of the readers!!!!! I would love to see a sequel to The Inheritance. I resonate so much with Ada, being older, and just a normal person who ended up with these extra abilities at a later age. I think she’s an awesome character.
“Gordon is strongly in favor of a sequel to Inheritance. My fear is that it will grow”
Dear Ilona, be assured, we are not afraid!
Thank you so much for this gift- both the look into the writing process because I have always wondered how that worked and another serial!
I must admit I am rather looking forward to Elias’s cat meeting Ada’s dog with Ada’s cat supervising.
This is a great idea, but hard to put into a RPGLit type of genre, I suspect. I was one of the Horde going “oooo” over Elias, so any continuation of that obvious, eventual ship (Elias/Ada) would be appropriately devoured. I mean, after all, they have similar “pets” providing no end of hilarity.
Was Gordon afraid that the serial would grow into a full-fledged novel or that his preference would grow? I would love both.
Hello hello, the Horde has spoken indeed. Is the archive/ delete for everything even if it’s not the serial? I remember getting several Hugh days but can only find the last one, and the elara prologue. But I could swear having read about the druids, the mercs, etc… please tell me I didn’t dream it?
There is the Free Fiction page with links to all the pieces available on the blog https://ilona-andrews.com/free-fiction/
The first 5 chapters of Iron and Magic 2 were a mini serial and were archived as they were a first draft and subjected to edits.
I am being very chalant when i excitedly cackle with joy over this. The kitty doggo tax is also very very appreciated
Thank you so much. What an upcoming bright spot for the darkening year. It made me take a deep, clean breath.
“Gordon is strongly in favor of a sequel to Inheritance.” YASSSSSSSS! I have lost all resemblance of the “chalant” at this suggestion 😀 <3
"My fear is that it will grow." And this is a bad thing because…? From my perspective, all the happy dancing ever LOL. 😉
My silliness above aside, I am always just grateful for whatever you find time to share. Having something to look forward to would be lovely, but it's not worth your health, be that physical or mental. Whatever, whenever, is deeply appreciated!
+1
Thank you, Jules. Well put!
^all of the above^
Thank you so much! It’ll make for the best holiday season 🙂
Condolences on the loss of your pets. Three in a year and all while Maggie 2 was being worked on, how that must have made both things more difficult! Hugs to both of you. You deserve some fun and so I hope the serial is what will be the most fun for you,not the BDH. I enjoy everything you write!
I love your blog so much, new serials or not it typically ends up being the highlight of my week! Super interesting to see how you all write together ❤️
OOOO! More fiction. 🙂
Would love to get an inheritance book 2. Realistically, I’ll love whatever you find exciting to write!
I lost my elderly chihuahua foxy mix this year. I am very lucky I had a toddler to fill up my heart but the grief still slithers it’s way in some days 💔 she was my first baby. I understand and I hope the other fur babies give you all the love you need.
I have successfully converted 4 people to bdh!!! we are now all Ilona Andrews cheerleaders and devourers of anything released and hail the news of a new serial!
“Gordon is strongly in favor of a sequel to Inheritance.”
It really, really deserves one.
A weekly serial would be awesome.
“Life right now™ ” has been stressful lately.
I would LOVE The Inheritance 2.
But if you don’t feel like it, then maybe Wilmington Years 3?
The new YA secret story (the one with the girl and the magic dog the evil step mom killed) feels more like a full-length-book type story (like Maggie) . It doesn’t feel like a weekly serial kind of story.
But like my mom always says to me:
“Don’t overthink it.”
We are the BDH and whatever you give us we will inhale it in a second and demand the next part immediately.
Do what feels best.
((Hugs)) 🫂
*doing happy dance!!*
You two could write a phone book and I’d stand in line for it. =) Whatever you end up with, choose something fun for you and that you can set aside for awhile if needed. I would hope for it to be fun and inventive for you rather than an obligation. Yes we’re the Book Devouring Horde, but we also strive to be like the polite dragon you describe Rogan as. =) I usually achieve chalant, but once in a while… well, Mod R could tell you I failed in that while waiting for Beast Business’ audio version. I was quite grumbly at all the business crap while totally getting it was not within your control. =)
Happy writing and thank you!
And I totally just crossed up chalant and nonchalant. I have no excuse….
I will be delighted to read whatever you write on whatever schedule keeps you guys enjoying yourselves!
As always the horde yearns for your written words like zombies yearn for brains.
Loved this explanation of how you team up to write side by side! I was so curious and puzzled how that was possible. During my career as an archeologist, I, and sometimes another colleague or two, would write technical reports and they would be peer reviewed. I had no idea how a team could write together and do it so cohesively on the same paragraph/chapter/book. A technical report is easy to assign sections to, a novel and the descriptive creativity, subject expertise on hundreds of topics, and dialogue would have stumped me and a teammate trying to write it at the same time and in the same physical space.
Thanks tremendously for bringing us another amazing serial to follow. Can’t wait to enjoy it, and I greatly appreciate your gift to us. Take care of yourselves and don’t overdo. We are often demanding and inpatient, but we care about you two. Sorry for the losses of your beloved pets— may their memories bring you comfort and warmth.
This was so good of you to explain how you work. I don’t care if you write a grocery list, everything you write is interesting and enjoyable.
I will throw you a BONE, so you can have a GATEaway and don’t feel so forced to DIVE into a discussion about which story to pick.
Short version: Go Gordon idea, go! 😀
Looking forward to it
What an exciting and delightful blog post! I am so happy I stumbled across all the book series and BDH when I did around a month ago, and I am SAT and fully buckled in for my first ever serial experience!!
Like the song says “ I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it, I’m about to lose control and I think I like it!”
I’m Team Gordon on this one. More Ada and Bear would be awesome! I will be happy with anything you care to write though.
Hugs to you guys for the pets you have lost. They don’t live long enough.
Oh, I can’t wait to see what you chose! I would be happy with literally anything. Whatever is fun and easy for you guys. You didn’t ask for suggestions, so I am certainly not going to offer any. But if you do want post for some… I’m sure that would be a disaster, actually. Nevermind.
A serial is so generous!!! THANK YOU so much for being so wonderful. With the election looming I am just a mess and this was just the ray of light I needed.
My heart goes out to you all about you guys losing your kiddos. It is so hard to lose such good friends and when the loses cluster it is especially hard. I’ve been ‘staggering’ our pet acquisitions as much as I can, because I’ve been there and it is just devastating. ((HUGS))
Fantastic news.
So glad you have recovered from Edit end of the world.
Putting in my plug for Blood Heir 2. I’ve been waiting since Magic Stars and I’m chalent and a bit, well cranky.
Thanks for sharing your co-writing process! It’s inspiring to see.
+1
Yall are truly the best to us. Thank you.
OMG! I am certified BDH (read and bought everything ever written 🤩). However I was still surprised at how much I loved Inheritance and how many times I reread it. Best Monday news ever. Thank you!
I’m so sorry for the loss of your pets. I know how hard it is.
My heart horse, Divinity died last Dec. My room in this house was designed to look out onto her paddock. We’ve lived here for 27 years, Vin was 7 when we moved here, much of the farm was built around her. For 26 years, the first thing I did when I opened my eyes in the morning was look at Vin. There is a maple that starts to turn red this time of year in her paddock. So often, the first sight of my morning was her grazing by that tree. Yesterday was my birthday, first thing in the morning I woke up and looked out into Divinity’s paddock, instead of Vin, the lambs were grazing by her tree, it just starting to change color. It hit me like a ton of bricks.
I’m so excited for more Inheritance. I actually just listened to it yesterday as my comfort listen on a hard day.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry. My (mostly retired) lesson pony turns 30 next year. She’s taught many, many kids to ride over the quarter century I’ve known her. Still looks and moves great for her age, still threatens the bigger horses with bodily harm if they’re insufficiently respectful. Here’s hoping she stays with me as long as Divinity did with you.
deepest condolences on the pets 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I personally appreciate ANYTHING you guys write, it’s always so good! Inheritance sequel is a great idea but I’ve been waiting for more Innkeeper!! Ah heck, who am I kidding, more Kate too! Love the Wilmington setting for their story.

So, what does a Halloween party at Gertrude Hunt look like? Do they get neighborhood trick-or-treaters? Do they get portal trick-or-treaters? Do visitors win costume contests without wearing costumes?

The thought of more free fiction plus the insight in how you write together made my day! I’m looking forward to a fun serial and the BDH clamoring for more XD
Thank you so much for the upcoming serials!!!!!
I read every word of this blog. All I can remember is- new serial, hopefully once a week, very possibly Inheritance related.
Am squealing with delight.
Thank you both so much.
You could write the ingredients for a ‘cereal’ box and i would be squealing with joy!
Super excited for a new serial…..
Another Inheritance or Sanctuary would be nice 😉
It’s nice to hear batty is now a permanent resident
happy Monday
If not Ada 2… there’s always the shadow of Puffles on the mountain side…
Surely Gaston has some stories to tell?
Thank you for all the excitement and pleasure your writing brings us. Serials are truly the icing on the delightful cake. 🙂
*happy squeal*
Inspired fun! A serial? Yaaaayaaay! I love your worlds and characters and the fact you feed the BDH. I’m so excited! (and now the Pointer Sisters are singing in my head) 😀 Thank you for all you do. Everything is most appreciated.
awesome that you both are doing this.
Would you also consider doing something on Patreon? i read a lot litrpg and lots of authors have a Patreon. i understand you cannot do any series that are under contract.
Thank you for your suggestions 🙂 . At the moment, although they have considered it, House Andrews are not comfortable with a Patreon project model, due mainly to reader accessibility and feeling that pressure of delivering, instead of the pleasure they talk about in the post. The Book Devouring Horde is international, and what might feel like a modest contribution of “a few dollars” to some is a princely sum to others.
Yay! A new serial!
Thank you Author Lords!
That is absolutely stupendous news. Thank you!!
I’m sorry for your loss of fur family members! It’s very hard to go through, I know.
I’m excited about another serial and definitely with Gordon on his leaning.
As I have said before: you write it, I will read it, whenever and however it comes out. Thank you! 🥰
Love hearing about the writing process! Thanks for doing another serial!
Hello, just wanted to say that I just recently read Inheritance and I absolutely love it! Please continue to make a universe out of it like the Kate Daniel’s series (which is my all time favorite series ever ❤️)
It’s lovely to hear about your process 🙂
Yes!!! Something to look forward to every week ❤
Huzzah! I offer much gratitude.
We can only ever hope for a serial, anything is appreciated!!
I love it! I did not ask for this, as I was afraid of overworking you, but I’m glad for it all the same. Just like Omelyana, we BDH live for the crumbs of your writing.
You just made my day 💃💃💃💃
Thank you 🥰
Oh my wow! I don’t even read the serials and I’m excited 😊 A new series means a new book and I just love seeing the chapters go by despite my willful ignoring of them.
I have been a Horde member for a looooong time and I don’t know that I’ve ever known about your actual writing technique. That’s so cool! I knew that you wrote everything together, but not how. In the words
of the almighty Spock- fascinating.
Follow-up question-does the process change for Curran/Rogan’s/whoever’s POV?
The Curran and Rogan POVs were written by Gordon, with Ilona editing 🙂
Also, every time I reread Ruby Fire, I remember what an awful time you had writing it. Still one of my favorites. Catalina and Alessandro are right up there w Sean and Dina for Couples I’d Want to Hang With vs. Couples I Love to Read about from Afar
A new serial! *rubs hands in glee*
Would greatly appreciate a sequel to inheritance since I am now a protagonist in her 40’s but I love all your stories.
I am literally crying happy tears! I LOVE having the weekly posts to look forward to. The excitement of seeing them pop up, the speculation of what will happen! I adore reading the stories in this format. Thank you!
Yay for “Inheritance” love!
This is nice, but please do not over work yourselves. Really, we’ll whine or be happy whatever you do.
I have a question.
(Spoiler Warning)
I was just rereading TKWNKM, I’m at the part where Everard is flying back to Selva and I was curious if he took any soap with him? Did Maggie offer him some? Did he yoink one, or is he using gorefish blubber soap?
Much gratitude over any piece of fiction you freely give us 🙂
I like Gordon’s idea! It could be short. Or a novella. *rubs hands together enthusiastically* Not that I’ve been waiting for the next Inheritance or anything. Pining away, maybe…
Love your stories. Keep telling them, please!
I do look forward to Fridays simply because I automatically go to the blog, but a new serial?! Gentle support and so much gratitude for sharing your first drafts!
Thank you for the peek into your joint writing process! I’m looking forward to reading new HA serial fiction coming soon!
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss of pets. It is so hard.
Another Wilmington Years is my 2 cents for the serial, but I will love anything!
I had been hoping to mention this and this seems the perfect thread! I just finished listening to GA Sweep with Me and I really wanted to hear the story of the driefen lord’s ascension, complete with the saving the little creature by beating the teethy one with a stick.
I am so incredibly excited about a new serial! I loved inheritance and the galactic bachelor! Maggie is probably off the table… but inheritance 2 would be awesome! or even some crossover with George and Ada interacting… that would be sweet! or some more Derrick and Julie? Anything you can give is really, anything at all. even new stuff. we love it all!
Such a lovely surprise! I have really loved the serials. Inheritance, Hugh, Julie or Innkeeper. I will cherish every word, whichever it will be!
OH OH YAY!!!
This is so exciting.
Inheritance: Yes!
Roman: Yes!
The Inn: Yes!
Anything else: Yes!!
Anything. All of it. Will be thrilled.
Yay!!! That is all. 🙂
Squeee! I am so excited! I love the serials and if it’s an inheritance sequel and goes on forever with no end or pub date in sight, I’ll be in bliss. If it’s short (ha!) I’m ok with that too. I’ll just reread it more. thanks very much from the bottom of my horde heart!
Woohoo! Can’t wait. I’ll keep my hopes to myself.
That is so nice of you guys! I admit it has been hard to go so long without Maggie snippets and fun side paragraphs (I know Tor doesn’t give you guys much leeway on that), so this is a dream come true. Whatever you guys choose to move forward with will be awesome, I can’t wait!
My sympathies for the loss of your pets. I am so sorry.
The Horde is here for whatever you write! But I will put in a pitch for Inheritance or Innkeeper.
I love sharing those stories with my younger cousins and feel safe doing so as they’re what I would consider “PG-13.” HL and KD world is too R-rated for the younger fam.
i just want to say that I love your writing! looking forward to anything you decide on. (secretely hoping for a sequel to the Inheritance🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻).
That’s Tuna’s management look. Stop wasting time and get back to something that makes money to buy my treats.
I vote for Innkeeper!
But really I am ecstatic for a serial-something to look forward to each week
+1
I’m so excited to hear we’ll be getting a new serial on the blog for the holidays! I’m one of the BDH that can’t tell when things are hard or easy to write since I love all your books but the series that started as serials hold a special place in my heart! Thanks so much! ❤️ 📚
I love The Inheritance; I’ve listened to it several times and never get tired of it. I’m looking forward to reading about Maud and Arland’s wedding, but I suspect the two series are going to converge soon lol! Thank you for all your hard work, and thank you for bringing us happiness during these dark times
Honestly, thank you house Andrews. For upping my excitement levels for a November serial to Defcon SQUEEEEE, and for sharing about your writing process. I have wondered about it for ages, and hearing how collaborative you are is honestly, incredible.
Much excitement and appreciation from this insatiable member of the Horde. Xxxx
you are the best author lords and we will be so chalant about the serial.
Fantastic, thank you. Looking forward to wherever you all go with the serial!
And thanks for the pet pics and info.
I’m new to the Hoarde but have been listening to the audio for about 4 years now. Wish I’d discovered the Hoarde sooner!
Love your process! I’ve wondered for a while how you do it because I’ve heard of different methods people write together/co-write.
The serial sounds like it’ll be fun! I love how people laugh when you say you’ll do a short story. 🙂
we currently have 7 dogs. my husband’s response to seeing any of the dogs getting Grey hair is to go find a puppy in a culvert. they are the only friends to never overstay their welcome.
Thanks for your insight into how you write together. It gives your books so much more of a deeper perspective. The characters are very well rounded. Your fight scenes are amazing! I look forward to your blog posts they are so enjoyable. I can’t wait to read any serials you gift us with.
Thanks again for all your hard work.
thank you for all your great stories. I would love a sequel to Inheritance.
More stories, hooray!!! Thank you, youre the best authors!
**Hugs**
Thank you for the upcoming new reads!! And also for explaining your partnership…..we are very fortunate that you two are willing to share…
I love hearing about your writing process. I am definitely a reader, not a writer so everything you share is fascinating to me.
More Inheritance would be amazing. I loved it so much and felt it worked perfectly as a serial!
I missed place where could comment on ideas for series or snippets; no worries.
I would like more of Julie and Derek, mostly cause want to know how he got magic.
End up wondering just how smart Bear is now with upgrade.
More Kate and Curran.
Lastly, the wedding!
This is great! Thanks so much!
Omg, YES. Thank you both so much, We all really need something good to look forward to every week. I hope you guys dive into an addicting story with so much enthusiasm and inspiration that it stretches on and on and on and eventually has to be broken up into six volumes. In my dreams.
I love the description of working on fight scenes!! Cool, and fun!! Do you use pool noodles for swords?? 🤭
Your assistants are very photogenic!! Charles Tubbins is one of my most favorite celebrity dogs!! Hugs to all the fur people at House Andrews – take care of your mama and papa, please!! 💖
Happy squee!!! Thank you so much! (And I’m so sorry for your pet losses.)
I vote for what ever you want to write. secretly hoping two hit that spot, of running away, one serially and one done, but what happens or what both you do know I will love it. thank you for even thinking about doing the serial with your already full schedule. thank you for everything you have done
Thank you for feeding the hoard! I know I am definitely appreciative of whatever you share with us.
In terms of feeling inspired to write, I image it can be slightly similar to being told to read something vs wanting to read something. The pleasure of reading dims some when forced- much like I imagine it might be for writing obligations.
Also, thank you for the insight to your process. It is actually super interesting how y’all work together and have developed specific strengths individually that, in turn, strengthens the whole.
Kisses and love to the assistants, awake and sleeping!
Thanks again for everything 🫶🏼
Yay! I love the serials, thanks for giving us something to anticipate and appreciate in the coming weeks 😊.
Yah….serials are back!! 🙂 How about a Roman serial?! 🙂
I soooooo need a distraction from family DRAMA.
Yes yes yes!! I love love love getting fun weekly/semi-weekly snippets. I’m 100% okay with this going on for months at a time (How is longer ever a problem???) Thank you guys so much for sharing your imaginations with us!! <3 Also +100 for a sequel to the Inheritance.
Thank you, Author Lords!
Innkeeper!
+100
Condolences on the loss of the pets. 🙁
Squee to the serial! Whoop, Whoop!
It doesn’t matter which one is chosen. If there’s a vote, a particular wedding between the Marshall and Maven would be nice. 😁
This is so exciting. I have really missed the serials since Inheritance. Thanks for the demo and explanation of how you write together, that’s fascinating. Keep doing what you do so well, we will keep devouring!😉
It is kind that you are starting the serial again and good luck on my part! I am about to have my 8th surgery in 5 years and it is a doozie! I was supposed to have it in January but the hospital and doctor are unexpectedly going out of network next year so I am rushing to cram it in. It had about an 8 month recovery which means I won’t be going to the big family reunion in Hawaii at xmas I had been looking forward to. More importantly, I won’t get to see any of my extended family over christmas. It makes me sad. It is nice to have something else -even little something elses – to look forward to.
I hope everything with the surgery goes as well as it can for you!
I think it’s wonderful to have HA to help us get through difficult times. I hope their stories are a great distraction for you as you heal.
Blessings and hopes for an excellent result and healing from your upcoming surgery!
Best wishes on your surgery and recovery. That is tough, and I hope you can find ways to pamper yourself for Christmas. Marathon IA reread with excellent takeout meals?
Looking forward to all or any snippets:) Just have to say, if a sequel to ‘the Inheritance’ were to come to life any laughter would be along the lines of ‘Mwah-ha-ha-ha’ with my rubbing my hands in glee! Though I am a faithless sort of fan. I’d be equally excited by more Roman, or Hugh, or Arabella, or Ripper Cushions or, or, or – yep, I am easy that way:)
On a more serious note, much sympathy for the loss of fur friends. Always a difficult time & knowing their lifespans are shorter doesn’t make it any easier to bear.
Thank you for the future serial!! It really makes my craptastic workday better!
Right now I’m picking my way thru marvel shows that aren’t too emotionally draining…
Thank you, I also appreciate that Gordon wants to do a sequal to “Inheritance” I vote in favor of that! You both are so talented and I truly enjoy and savor every story.
Excited for a serial since I’m new here and wonderful insight on how you write together
Welcome!
Okay, Horde, have we all understood the assignment? Make free goodies FUN for the authors! And, GO!
Oh yay yay yay!!! If you ever need to skip a week, maybe you can repost the Puffles snippets, so we can use the app to preserve them????
For someone who came late to the HA blog, I heartily endorse a reposting of the Puffles snippets. I missed them the first time and I don’t know if the free fiction section of HA’s website has all the parts that were originally posted. I would love to read them in totality.
HA, please accept my condolences on the passing of your pets. Pets are such an integral part of any family that adopts them.
I was just wondering about ancient snippets. I think there was, once upon a time, an unidentified snippet that may have been Maggie before TKWNKM ever had a name. Now that the book has consumed the Horde (and vice versa), I was curious to recall that snippet. However, I cannot find it. Am I remembering correctly or just scrounging for Maggie wherever ?
You’re probably thinking of The Swordmaster – it was Maggie’s first meeting with Reynald at the tea house.
The scene is now in the book, you don’t need the snippet 🙂
Where are you at with the next Hugh novel?
Inheritance!!! Please??? Thank you Ilona and Gordon! 💜💜💜
Ok, I got so excited to see this!! I ran to make a comment. YES YES YES!!! I am a full blown member of the hoarde, who treasures EVERY WORD typed by Ilona and Gordon. I just don’t comment often, but the hope of a new online serial really truly gives me something amazing to look forward to. THANK YOU!!! I also vote for a sequel to Inheritance!! That little snippet last week gave me LIFE
Thank you!
most important, i’m sorry for the loss of your pets. i’m a long-time reader and it hurts when an elder pet’s name disappears from the blog.
next, THANK YOU. the serials do help cope with *waves arms around* all of this.
i know i’ll enjoy whatever you end up doing, but i’d prefer to revisit the inn or kate’s world. or, ya know, puffles.
Definitely hoping for Inheritance but eager to read anything you write. I enjoyed the first Inheritance installment immensely and am very eager to see more of that series!
Thank you for considering a serial offering – just the possibility of it makes me feel like something good is coming, and that is THE BEST feeling.
Thank you. Whatever you decide to write, thank you for your effort. And if you end up not starting a new serial, thank you anyway.
I am Looking forward to the serial. Write when you can and when you enjoy it. Of course I will devour anything you write with glee.
Yea!!!! Thank you soooooo very much!!!
Absolutely, yes to the Inheritance serial!!! 🙏🥺🙏🙏
Great news. More Innkeeper please.
We have to wait years for the wedding
But any character will do 🙏
I was hoping that the weekly serial would be the final Innkeeper book, since so many of the previous books started as weekly gifts to the BDH.
And I don’t really think people were -really- upset when a week was missed. It was just an involuntary withdrawal response. I’m pretty sure that most of us realize that stuff happens, and it’s impossible to guarantee that there will be something every week. We just appreciate whatever House Andrews is willing to produce. (Except Steve; he can really be a jerk sometimes.)
I get released back into the wild (had to return to work after 10 weeks convalesence for surgery on both hands) and apparently missed a bunch while I was frantically playing catchup.
You guys are really my favorites. If I weren’t such an introvert, didn’t have two teenagers that suck all of my free time, and didn’t live in a totally different part of the country, I would love to be y’all’s friend😁
Thank you, this is very exciting!
Would really love Wilmington Years 3! Really want to know what goes on after Luther’s visit! Intriguing!
The Horde has spoken, and we have been HEARD! 😍 Thank you for giving us more stories to look forward to! I would happily RSVP to Mayd’s wedding (with popcorn for the inevitable chaos 😂) or take a peek at what Arabella has been up to. Honestly, I’ll take whatever you’re inspired to write! ❤️🐉
Definitely didn’t expect a new serial this soon. Trying to stay fluffy and not to get too chalant too fast. (Squee!!)
Roman!!!!!!!!
You guys are the best….no matter which storyline you decide upon, I’ll be right there reading it ❤️
Awesome to hear from House Andrews. You all do such wonderful work and bring your readers much happiness and enjoyment with the characters and worlds you create. Thank you! I’m so delighted to hear that we can look forward to a serialization work. You two are amazing and much appreciated!
Thank you so much! Anything serialized will be much appreciated. I love them all.
And thank you for sharing how you write together; fascinating.
I’m so sorry to learn of the loss of your pets.
Thank you for the insight into your writing world, it sounds like a great partnership- one that reads so well.
I am looking forward to whichever serial you decide on (I have no preference they’re all good!).
My husband and I were discussing just the other day that one of the reasons y’all are one of his faves is because of how complete and fully realized both halves of your partnerships are. He feels a lot of the time that the non-POV partner, most often the male, can feel very flat especially when the two are in opposition/ conflict/ argument with each other. And he’s never had to worry about that with a House Andrews pairing.
Love everything you do, so happy to have whatever pieces of inspiration pop out.
Thank you for your continued p*tience with the BDH and our greedy, grasping pleas for more, more, more!
Sorry that you had to say goodbye to so many of your pets this year, it’s always hard but that must have been a very unpleasant rollercoaster.
Here’s hoping you are both recovering from the epic editing marathon, ready to enjoy the various holidays coming your way.
PS Mod R: you are terrific, thank you for all the fun stuff you feed us when the Authorlords are otherwise occupied
I would love to see the Innkeeper series continued and I really have missed those characters!
As a relatively new Horde Member this is FASCINATING and I am so excited to see it in action.
I don’t imagine I’ll have the chance to catch them all before they’re archived and “finalized”…but what FUN!
[Sidenote: As a court stenographer as my profession, I absolutely ATE.UP. the description of how you two work in realtime! Gordon, I wonder if you wish you had stenographer skills? 😀 ]
A brilliant plan. Can someone be a regen farmer?
We are so beloved. I hope the serial is something that feeds into a planned or existing effort so the payoff is worth your time.
“Excuse me please”. Tucks BDH napkin into the collar. Grabs silverware and sits at the House Andrews feast of fiction. Bellows “MOAR!” 😂😘
Hurrah! I love serials! Thank you!
I would love more of the Puffle’s story.
A serial from Bear’s point of view would be so fun!
I love the serials. But if it came down to getting the next Inheritance or Inn Keeper novel sooner, I would rather they not be serialized. I know the Inn Keeper is a long shot, but I would love another installment.
Ohhh, another Inheritance serial would be excellent!! Maud’s wedding would also be awesome! Thanks for the peek into your writing process…
I am so darn happy. I read Maggie for the fourth time and let me tell you… I have never been able or.wanted to read a book that many times so quickly. I read it for the second time the very next week.
It took me a hot minute to get into the Inheritance (I know, Im getting kicked out of BDH) because my AuDHD hits me sideways sometimes. But I finally read it after reading the free short on it and I got absolutely hooked. Ill be pretty excited if its that.
my condolences for your fur babies that have passed. that is difficult.
is Batty the feral that comes inside when the weather is threatening? how does Tuna handle that?
“so we want to be clear that everyone goes into this with the understanding that there can’t be a meltdown if . . .” Amen and Amen and Amen. you are so generous to share with us. we should be grateful for what we get.
if only I could get this clarification and understanding to work with my kids.
I do love having something to look forward to; it’s good for my devouring tendencies to give way to a a week-long savoring of each scene but my favorite part is the book club like experience in the comments. Love the BDH and Mod R who keeps us on track.
thank you for your willingness to share; sending lots of joy and fun energy your way.
A serial you say?! *starts chanting* Puffles!! Puffles!!
Losing the non-human members of our families is really hard, and I wish Team Andrews and their human families hugs and happy thoughts. Eagerly awaiting all words, so long as they spark joy from their creators!
Has the Horde passed on its wisdom to new members yet?
Last time Ilona said they were going to write a short story serial the Horde got excited for their novel, and Jeanine Frost laughed at Ilona on the phone. Or was it the last two times?
Regardless, Ilona’s brain is always bigger than her eyes and we get lovely stories.
Much sympathy on your furry family. We went through a changing of the guard last year. I’ve got my 2-year old cat purring on my lap right now and helpers downstairs waiting for me to water plants. they are joyful companions, but man what a gut punch when the clock eventually comes due.
Adding to that bit of wisdom to the new Horde members. Hugh’s story came from a long ago April Fool’s joke from Ilona and Gordon. It was a snippet, and the Horde loved it so much it became a book. 😂😂😂
When Ilona and Gordon want to write a “short story” it grows into either a novella or a long book.
I’m with Team Gordon on this one! I loved the Inheritance! But I always end up loving everything you write, so you do you. And I’ll devour it and buy it if/when it turns into an actual book. Thank you for what you do – you make me and so many other people really, really happy.
Thank you for the explanation of your writing process and I am really sorry about your pets. Yey for the serial (any serial), I love all your work and will enjoy anything, but I absolutely love different POV from This Kingdom. I am actually shocked about this as the description was not “up my lane”, I did not expect to like it quite that much, but I have read it more time then any other of your books and I absolutely love it. Any small story with another character POV adds depth to an already 3D book, I have enjoyed them all, no matter how short. thank you again, and hopefully there will be only joy in the coming months and no need for “trauma soap”.
Omg, that’s great news! ❤️❤️❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻🎉
I love you guys ❤️
I’m so excited for a serial! I’m slogging my way through the last semester of a 2 1/2 year grad school program and I so need something to get excited about right now! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Dear Ilona and Gordon
Sometimes I feel you get The BD Horde down to a soothing, gentle Mogwai level.
And then you feed us after midnight!
Queue: Gremlins Music!
Thank you for any and all endeavours.
So excited! Thank you, I’ve been needing something to make me happy.
Thankyou for sharing more about your process. I’ve enjoyed your writing for a few years now and the more I get to hear about your work, writing style and lives the more invested I get. I hope you both get plenty of rest and relaxation to keep up the wonderful work! I can’t wait to read more worlds from your imagination.
Super excited about a new serial! I have to say i love hearing how you guys write together. I have always wanted to know and felt it to intrusive to ask. I would love to be a fly on the wall and just listen to you guys discuss a scene or build a chapter. I am sure it would be fascinating to see how it flows and how things develop organically. 🙂
Yay for new serial!!! I vote for Puffles! Or a new Kate short! Or Innkeeper! 🤣
You have my sympathy for losing your furry companions. It’s difficult. 😥
You are so generous HA! We love everything you write! Would love more inheritance…I will be very fluffy and let you spin something in your own time.
I love how you sit next to each other and co-operwrite!
omg. This post made me happy. The last time blog post suggestions were solicited, I requested hearing more about the writing team process. Ive also been super curious about what project, if anything, HA might fit in next before Maggie 3 contractual work begins. Everything is welcome but serials are always fun! They are especially more fun than not getting anything in between Maggies. Those two things alone are great but now I get to look forward to news soon about what the topic will be AND start reading it.
My vote is a period drama set in China. With dragons, of course!
I understand the pain of multiple pets Departing in a brief span: the month we lost 4 fur, was 3 cats, 2 which weren’t old, in the span of less than 2 weeks, and a dog by cancer, before the month ended.
My mom, who had suggested to my boyfriend-husband that he try to mention separating from a cat or two, when we got engaged (he told her NO, he knew which I’d chose if presented such thoughts), told us not to wait for long, as she saw how miserable I was, as well as my husband, and go adopt another cat. Those were painful weeks, being cat-less, before a new cat came into the house. She’s now over 20 years old. The city laws state we couldn’t have more than 4 of each, may have been amended to total, but I’ll claim Grandfather clause, though next time we’ll stick to 3 or fewer dogs.
Looking forward to more goodies in the literature!
Thank you for the amazing stories. Your descriptions are so good i can see it in my head and that is all your talent. 🙂
Thank you sweet and generous authors!
INHERITANCE!!! OMG Gordon, I’m with you. Pleaaaaaaase. But also, anything you two want to write I’ll read. I need something to look forward to. the election did not go well up here in BC and we are worried. I need a diversion.
“We are going to try to begin the serial sometime in November. We need to write ahead enough to make sure the concept makes sense and leave ourselves some breathing room.”
More Inheritance…. Whoopi!!
I will take that any day. It was one of my two choices/wishes. The other one was “The Sweep” series.
Happy dance💃
Hot dog I can’t wait!!!
Thank you, thank you thank you
More happy dance💃
Please write what gives you both joy! If you write it I will read it. You have way cool books, characters and worlds and any of them will be a treat.
And when I read “My fear is that it will grow.” I laughed out loud!
Thank you!
I just love you guys, whatever you do, I will be thrilled with it!
Oooohhhh!!! More Inheritance stories…. Fun!
Im excited to be part of the Horde.
Looking forward to giving my yay’s and positive feedback ;0
Oh wow, a new serial! I came into Clean Sweep partway through on the blog and have enjoyed every one of your serials since. I love the anticipation, the rereadings, the blog discussions, and the many, many evil little cliffhangers.
If I had my choice of topic for the new serial, it would be whatever makes you happiest to write.
Squeeeee!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I look forward to whichever universe you decide to write in. They’re all fantastic! 🤩
Yay! Thank you for feeding the Horde! I loved all the serials. I think Sweep of the Heart was my favorite with Mod R’s summaries and comments / speculation from all the readers.
Are POVs easier to produce than stories? what is your ideal brain-game writing exercise?
Yippee!! Thank you!
Yay for another serial!!
I’m very sorry that you’ve lost some of your adorable assistants. That’s always hard, so my heart goes out to you and Gordon.
As always, I enjoy hearing about your process.
This is so exciting! Looking forward to whatver you are inspired to write. Thank you so much!
Anything that might come our way makes me happy, but if there’s a vote, then I’m voting for more Inheritance please!! Gordon is very, very right, hehe.
Woohoo!!
I also vote in support of Gordon’s idea of an Inheritance serial. The flow of that story seems very well suited to a serial.
That said, please pick what appeals to YOU. I own every single book you have written and will love any topic you choose.
Oooooohhhh!!! Exciting!
Personally I’m happy for any serials or extra/alternate view scenes that you see fit to write for us to devour.
Thank you for the great news! I also really liked reading how you laid out the rules/expectations (I am a teacher of high school students). I am sorry anyone has said anything negative/critical about the past shared writing when it is such a gift for you to offer early drafts and a free serial with us. It is incredibly generous and something so many of us really look forward to! I hope you find something you’ll have fun doing, especially as it sounds like your schedule has been so demanding recently. Thanks also for sharing more about your writing process. That’s amazing that you complement each other so well and don’t fight and are such partners. (I love your humor and snark, the fight scenes, the smart protagonists, the romance and banter—it’s so engrossing and the characters feel so real.) Thank you!
+1
I like the idea of a story with Diana’s brother or one with Augustine’s sister.
Girl posse with Arabella, Augustine’s sister, and Tia Madero! Look out HLWorld!
That was an amazing insight into your working practice. Thank you for sharing! Can I second the Inheritance, please? I have read and re-read it so many times already. I am dying to read more.
Yes please more inheritance!!!!!! go Gordon go!!!! and dude y’all’s teamwork really is a marvel.
Ooohh a new serial would be so cool during the winter time!
It’s always fun to learn more about you’re writing system. Absolutely ease take all the time and experimenting you need for building a cushion and finding a story that’s not a slog.
No complaints, it’s always worth it.
Love you 🩷
Christmas is starting early!
Very excited, thank you so much.
Super. Really looking forward to having a highlight for my week again! Can I please put in a request for Puffles…..
ohhhh yes, please!
will read anything you want to write!
yay!!! great post. i love to here about your writing. And a new serial!!!
Thank you both. I’m very excited to read whatever it is that you decide to write about! (Big sigh) I love the idea of a serial and I have always enjoyed what you have provided in the past. (Now I am being very chalant, while I wait).
I would like to read more about the Inheritance as well. However, I am in awe of the ability to write such entertaining books, so will take whatever comes. I would like to know about Hugh. Thank you. Your writing helps me get through life.
I can’t think of a single thing you have written that I haven’t enjoyed. Please write what you find easy and fun, and I will be thrilled to read it. Also take what time you need. I will never whine about delays. Free fiction is always appreciated but never demanded!
Delighted to hear the serial will be back! I’d be happy with any story you choose to explore. This is a gift to us readers, so absolutely understand when you need time off.
It was lovely to hear about your writing process. I loved something else you’d said earlier: that you egg each other on to punch things up for impact. It shows in the books you’ve written and has been an inspiration to me.
Thank you!
Inheritance sequel…. Yesssssssss……. And it will grow and grow and soon Ada will be going to Maud’s wedding and visiting Dina and Sean…… YESSSSSSSS
We are so beloved and well cared for.
Good horde will behave, good horde will dial down the chalance, good horde will sit on hands and smile sweetly and be grateful for every and any snippet.
Thank you Team Andrews!!
I have always loved your narrative posts…. amd I think it incredibly brave to do! looking forward to more!!!
Goodies! Yay, wonderful goodies! Itty-bitty goodies are almost as good as serials and probably less harmful to your sanity. That being said, anything you feel inclined to share shall be loved, devoured and reread endlessly.
Thank you for thinking of us, your devoted (obsessive, somewhat frightening, rather neurotic) horde.
Hi, if you are looking for shorter story ideas for the blog I would love to have a sapphic main character story from you…perhaps in the world of Hugh and Elara or Hidden Legacy.
***SCREAM***
Thank you so much!
I will endeavour to keep the chalantness in check!
I look forward to reading whatever you choose to write. I hope at some point you find your way back to continuing Roman’s story.
Sendings hugs, and feeling with you. I don’t even want to imagine what you went through losing your pets.
I look forward to a new serial!! I agree with Gordon that a sequel to The Inheritance would be absolutely amazing. I hope the new serial helps lift you both out of the slog and promise there will be no negative comments from me! Thank you for everything you do!
Just popping in to say: WE LOVE YOU !
The inheritance, a Roman follow-up or a Hidden Legacy story for Fridays sounds great! Thanks in advance!
yes, please do a sequel to The Inheritance! …also, please write Julie’s next book in the Knight Ryder (love your puns), hopefully, series.
I say: Yay!!
I also say: Things the two of you write as a first drafts are a lot better than most finished books I consume. Sad for me, great for you!
It’s very interesting to know more about how you work together. I’ve been wondering about it many times before and I am SHOOK! I don’t know what I expected, but I wasn’t this.
All the best wishes from France
I know this is probably not the place to inquire, but is there a snippet or short story about A Baylor Family Wedding? If so, how can I get it? I have Diamond Fire. As you can tell, I am all things House Andrews. Love every series.
If you’ve already read Diamond Fire, then the only other Baylor wedding is Bern’s wedding to Runa Etterson – in the epilogue of Ruby Fever 🙂
I would *love* a serial!
And a sequel of Inheritance…. that would be fantastic!!! ;-D
What wonderful, wonderful news!!!!
It doesn’t matter what story you decide on, I’m sure to love it.
Thank you so much!
I’m with Gordon. I LOVED inheritance and would love another installment.
Sorry for the loss of your little ones
You are glorious authors and we love you and everything you write. I vote for more Innkeeper, but not the wedding yet – guest shenanigans can be light and fluffy and result in more Orro and Sean classic scenes – and Puddles.
puffles. lovely autocorrect….
I am so sorry for the loss of your fuzzies. That is a terror that lives in my future. I wish you all the warm drinks, and purrs and puppy licks you can to help cope with these bereft days.
Ilona and Gordon. Thank you! We will read everything and obsess about it in typical Horde fashion. I’m torn between Ada and Arabella.
Your books help me in difficult times.
Take care.
What an absolute delight to wake up to this. I do love the serials and devour literally anything posted, but I also love this description of your writing. I’m hosting my small book club today and the other fantasy reader, who I introduced to your work years ago, and I have had the group read a few of your books, some have even read on. Kid 2 is reading DCC with me (I’m rereading) and he just started book 8. And ACOSH comes out today, so it’s just a happy book day all around.
You are too good to us but also I am really excited and so glad to have something to look forward to at this time of year.
And also so fun to hear about your writing process! I’ve always wondered. I love writing alone but the vibes of creative flow and buzzing off someone else also appeals to me. How cool.
PS I hope you are enjoying the Halloween tree!
I think you just saved my life with this promise of a serial!!
If I may nudge, I think a side quest might be fun. Take a minor character — Orro the Chef!? — and have him run back and forth to Balachar (sp?) or travel to distant lands, many adventures for ingredients. Or, Luther’s love life & mishaps in mage school. Or, more on Rogan’s mom as a grandmother.
A very fluffy series
Whatever is fun for you to write is riveting for me to read. Both of you are magical with words. Thank you.
The best news of the month! I loved everything you written (and I have it on my shelf), so I’ll just w@it p@tiently…
It seems I read only the first part of the post. Sorry for your lost. I know how it is with the pets. Even if you know, it hurts.
A serial featuring the dog’s POV from The Inheritance would be great! 😁 Just sayin’
If you are looking for opinions, Inheritance volume 2 would be awesome!
Please please please please more Inkeeper Chronicles. It’s my favorite series and I’ve read and listened to it over and over but it ends on a cliffhanger and it’s killing me! Please don’t move a newer series along while letting us hang on the Inkeeper Chronicles. Please.
Can’t wait for the short story that will definitely become a 220k words novel Mwahahahahahahaha
So excited and yay for inhertance!! I loved this world so much!!
I would LOVE an Inheritance short story tbh – the world building is some of the best I’ve read, a chance to return would be incredible!!!
I thought you guys would be exhausted so I remained silent instead of asking for more but since you’re doing this (thank you for being nonstop lol), Innkeeper please please please.
Yay! Love the serials and was hoping Inheritance was on the possibility list. We’ll love anything though.
This makes me so incredibly happy. I’ve been having a hard time lately and thinking about the possibility of a new weekly serial again is honestly the best news I have had lately. I actually got my husband hooked reading your books too with Inheritance. He’s going to be pretty excited when I tell him. You all are the best!!!
Since we’re in October (for a little longer)/Fall/Winter, how about a short Roman serial…?
…not that we won’t love Inheritance serial … or anything you write!
So excited. I wasn’t yet part of the Horde when serials were last a thing but I am completely on board. And getting to watch as characters come to life?? SQUEEEEEE
serial fiction???!!!, what bliss and joy! and we promise to be good, gentle and accepting of your time. What a lovely description of working together! That is real team work! If you are searching for topics, innkeepers would be great.
Thank you so very much. I live alone and work from home. A couple of paragraphs of your stories means a great deal in my life. Thank you for working so hard.
Oh I can’t wait for the Fiction Serial! Fingers crossed for The Inheritance Sequel!!
I would live and be grateful forever for a serial of Inheritance. I have reread it three or four times. Of course, I have reread multiple IA books and series , but for some reason, Inheritance, Sweep of the Blade, and TKWNKM are the ones that I have reread the most. I have read every IA book, most multiple times, except I never finished the Kate Daniels series. I bought those books last, having read everything else published at the time. I need to start those again.
*love* not “live”
Fingers crossed, The Inheritance inspires you. I just reread it for the 3rd time and really need more of Ada, Bear and Elias. Thank you for sharing how you write-very intetesting!
Yeah, we’re probably going to need reminders about not melting down and imagining the worst when the serial and/or authors need breathing time.
But the serials really are soooo much fun. It’s fun to look forward to and to read with everyone else.
Your method makes so much sense.
Dostoevsky hired Anna Grigoryevna Snitkina to help him finish The Gambler and finished in just 26 days (to stay out of debtors prison and keep from losing the rights to his manuscripts). She stayed with him through Crime and Punishment, and (obviously realizing what good thing he found) they got married.
I visited their apartment (now a small museum) in St. Petersburg. You could stand behind his desk and look out the window at the same view he would have seen, minus power lines and cars.
There were open ledgers of the manuscripts with editing in the margins. Gave me chills.
I bought a souvenir porcelain cup with “I say let the world go to hell, but I should always have my tea” in Cyrillic.
« Я скажу, что свету провалиться, а чтоб мне чай всегда пить».
Do either of you pace while dictating?
I’m in full agreement with Gordon – an Inheritance sequel sounds great-
pretty please !
If not a Dina and Sean update would be appreciated
The dictating, I do at home, is more your turn to cook dinner and less crimson sunsets. I love that you guys are such a good team.
When I read the announcement about the serial I thought “and the people rejoiced!”
Then I started reading the comments and changed it to “and as ever the Horde was chalant.”
Thank you!!!
Sorry for your pet loss.
When I looked at the picture of both of you at the computer, I wondered if one of you is left handed. Being a lefty myself, I just had to ask.
Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Yeah Gordon- we need more inheritance!
That sounds great! I am all for continuation of the Inheritance ❤️
I’ve always wondered what Orro and the other side characters get up to outside the main plot thread, I loved the little adventure he took to see the cooking show.
idk what you are planning to write, but I’m here for it. Life is really hard right now, in ways no one can do anything about.
Yaaas! That sounds so great! I am all for continuation of the Inheritance ❤️
The authorlords are too good to the hoard! (Not that I’m complaining haha)
May the words flow easily and the hoard be fluffy about the release schedule 🙏
I never imagined that you wrote together at the same time!
Yes, go Gordon! More Inheritance!
A serial, whoohoo!!! I’d love an Inheritance sequel, obviously, but I also remember a story about a girl with an old dragon, and always wondered what happened with her. Thanks for sharing how you write together, no wonder your books are awesome!
Yes! Yes! And Yes! Thank you soooo much. Looking forward to whatever you do!
You guys are phenomenal! Thank you so much for everything!
I’m going through some changes at work right now, but the prospect of a new series is a ray of hope
Ooo new serial!! Amusingly, the serials are actually how I STARTED reading y’all’s fiction as a friend recommended it to me one day when I needed a pick me up, and well, after a read of your ENTIRE backlist later a few years ago, the rest is history LOL.
So I am not at all surprised that was the Horde’s request lol. I honestly am completely ambivalent as to WHICH serial, bc legit, I’ve enjoyed everything y’all have given us/teased us with snippets of, so I could not choose which I’d prefer to see next (and god knows some of the ongoing sequels would uh… not be short – looking at you Hugh – so they wouldn’t be ideal for a serial or to take pressure of a longgggggg story off y’all’s plate after the monster marathons that are Maggie books lolsob). So yeah, just excited and extremely grateful as always that y’all do these for us all. I know it’s NOT a small amount of effort for sure!
Finally, so many hugs for the fur baby losses. Losing my sweet old kitty girl Rogue was the not great start to this year (on Jan. 5th), so I can only imagine how hard it was to say good-bye to that many loves in a single year. *hugs*
More Inheritance would be AMAZING!!!!!
Thank you for continuing to feed the horde! Thank you for sharing your writing process. And thank you for taking the time from your schedule to write snippet/serial for us. Fingers crossed it’s something in the Innkeeper Universe!
Thank you. This sounds so exciting!! Fingers crossed for Arabella :))
What a delightful post! The methodology info was great, the insight into the work was phenomenal, and it was just … delightful. Thanks, Ilona Andrews!
I am with you, Gordon, Inheritance 2 all the way! House Andrews, you are awesome! Love the renewed focus on fiction for the blog.
Hmmm…Inheritance or Innkeeper…it’s still gonna be FrInn Day! Thank you so much!
Ilona, Gordon and family, my deepest sympathies on the loss of your pets. Been there, it sucks. (((Hugs)))
Thank you for your generosity. May you find joy and positive energy, with writing flowing easily. You deserve it.
Yes, I approve this message! Bring it on! I’m so excited! I have missed the serials and love when we get snippets!
Yay!! We will love anything you give us. Serial…100% yes!!! We can be p*tient. 😍
1) I’m so so so excited for a new serial, especially if it’s Inheritance!
2) Thank you for sharing how you work together. It was interesting to see your process. It looks lovely!
Please, please…more Inheritance…
I’m excited that you are bringing the serial back to us. Any story will excite me – I’ve loved everything you’ve written together. Maybe the Edge series a little less than anything else but I still really liked that. Thank you both for all that you do. I got to see you in St. Paul this winter and that was fun!
First of all, sincerest, softest condolences for the loss of your three elderly pets. Second, I’ve been wondering about your writing process but didn’t want to take up your time by asking–so thank you so much–and if you acted out the fight scenes before/during/after writing them down–so mystery solved! Hope you have a very happy Halloween!
I just reread The Inheritance yesterday! I’m definitely rooting for more of that world. But then again, I’m really missing the Kate Daniels and am highly anticipating more Julie/Aurelia Ryder. Honestly, any scraps or snippets thrown my way will make me happy. ❤️
So excited for the new serial!
I won’t give any suggestions because I have enjoyed every one!
Thank you for this. So generous.
I’m so sorry for your four-legged losses 😔 we’ve had a rough year for that too and some days the heartache is overwhelming ❤️🩹
So sorry for the loss of your dear companions. All I will say is that I’ve been there too.
My vote is for The Inheritance too. Loved book 1 and can’t wait to see how you build on the story. Imaging how you may link it to your other books is a fun exercise but don’t know if that will happen any further. Thanks for the insight on your writing process. Reading your books, I’m always amazed at how much the stories expand in ways that blow me away.
I would love a serial on Helen in vampire school. Happiness with “ripper cushions”!
“So please understand that the serial may go on for months…”
Oh no. Sporadic gifts for months on end? We can only hope lol.
Erodel?
Yippee! I’m with Gordon- more Inheritance. (Ahem) “🎶Let it grow, let it grooowww, can’t hold it back anymoroooore”😃
Y’all are amazing! Thanks so much for your stories! The amount of thought you give your books and us is so welcome. Thanks ever so much! I love reading and rereading your books. We are blessed as readers. I pick up wisdom from your books too.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will read whatever you want to write. I would LOVE more Inheritance, but also Innkeeper or anything else you write will be happily devoured and enjoyed – thank you!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖💖💖💖📖
I’m very sorry for your loss though. Last year I lost 3 of my kitties within 6 weeks an it was horrendous and traumatic. I hope you can both find some comfort in your writing together and the pets you still have *sending extra extra big hugs and lots of love*
My excitement about this announcement yesterday was so huge that it invaded my dreams last night! I dreamt that I was drafting a blog comment for this post reminding everyone of the time Gordon proposed writing a short story about George and Jack solving mysteries when they were kids in the Weird, accompanied by some of the aliens from the Innkeeper series. As I was waking up I realized that I had been dreaming since the series don’t cross over until they’re adults – and I was so disappointed. 😂 I can’t wait for whatever you two cook up, I know it will be great!
Yeee, Inheritance II is in the workz!!!!!!!
Any serial is greatly appreciated! However, with the amount of work you’ve done with both Maggie 1 and 2, might I suggest you stick with a world you’ve already established and filled out, adding a true “short story” (ROFL) rather than a new world (building a new world as you did with Inheritance – though BRILLIANT may I add). The Horde wants to have you around for a LONG time and not burnt out. Smell some non-toxic roses, enjoy your pets, revel with the family coming into the holiday season… My personal favorite worlds – Innkeeper (love the wedding idea with Maud); Arabella short; may a wedding with Beast Business; would love more Inheritance but that sounds like it would morph into major work…
Love the serials. I would also like more of “The Inheritance “. What a great story. It really draws you in.
Can’t wait for the serial – Thank you!!
All i can say is ‘YAY’!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Or in Barsa-barsa, barsa, barsa.
I hope it’s Inheritance. I can’t wait to find out more about Ada and Elias. But any tidbits from IA are welcome. If any of the BDH stifles IA’s creativity with negative comments, I will smite them with my sword.
Hear, hear, Sally! Smite those too early critics!
I’m with Gordon! Please, more Inheritance. LOVED that last scene with Ada & her trainer. (Although I appreciate EVERYTHING HA writes and will devour it as we Book Devourers are won’t to do❣️)
Best Birthday present! Thank you! I vote for Innkeeper, but I’ll take anything!
My initial reaction when I first discovered your blog and you started doing a serial (Innkeeper 2, I think) was: oh no, I’ll have to wait until they’re done or that will drive me crazy. I’ve since been completely converted. It’s so much fun to see which details that I overlooked are being dissected by others. The interaction with the comments is so much fun!
+1 to nearly everything said above.
And hugs to you both on the loss of your beloved pets. It’s tough.
Please spend time decompressing and resting; your equanimity is more important than getting a weekly serial out. The horde will understand.
Thank you!
I am all in for an Inheritance sequel!!! As many have said below, Thank You.
I love this so much. you are my my sunshine. Truly. the emails I read with childish glee. the idea of the serial has literally made me so giddy that I did a little dance. thank you for the joy and the anticipation of more joy to come.
Yay! New serial!!! So excited!!!!
::Runs around the room waving theBDH flag very chalantly::
No true member of the BDH would ever leave a comment like “This is a waste of time. I don’t know why anyone would like this. I hate it”. That is a false Horde troll and they will be KD’ed by the true Horde.
And thank you for sharing the sweet pet pics; we are so sorry for your loss of the others.
This is the BEST POST in MONTHS! Happy Happy Joy Joy! Meow meow meow woof woof woof!!!!!!!! I bought at least 4 copies of the paper version of Inheritance and an ebook! Innkeeper, or other would be fun as well, but man I miss the series. thank you thank you meow
I am so happy to have the serial to look forward to — you two are the best!
Whatever sounds fun, feels inspiring, and (at least at the outset) seems low-pressure to you both, I’m in 100%.
Yay, happy dance, lighter hearted and looking forward with just the right amount of anticipation.
Thank you 🙂
I like WIPs = no matter if it is writing or yarn projects! But thank you for looking at bringing back the serials!
I rarely comment, but I have to this time.
1. I am so sorry for the loss of your furbabies. No matter the age or the circumstances, it’s a heartbreaking thing to go through.
2. I have no input on what you write. I will read anything and everything you write and will be incredibly grateful for every word.
I can’t understand anyone giving such negative feedback on something an author is doing out of the kindness of their hearts. I hope you block those people forever!
3. HA ROCKS!
My heart goes out to you for the loss of pets so close together. One or a number, the loss is so hard.
I’m thrilled at the prospect of another serial starting before the end of the year! I love the idea of fitting something in from Inheritance that might fall between books, but rest assured I will love whatever it turns out to be, as long as it makes you happy to write.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall, watching you work through a fight scene…
Thanks for all you do for the Horde!
I love the Inheritance, but has Gordon considered the level of obsessive speculation over a certain species usually known for trading? It might be easier to write about a vampire wedding. I’ll read whatever you decide to go with. That’s what the Horde does.
Gosh I love y’all so much 🥺
I’m really looking forward to a new serial. November is my “blue” month so the timing couldn’t be better.
Thank you so much!
Best holiday gift ever – so generous! Thank you again, and don’t forget to relax – the Horde can just reread something.
It sounds like you are both very much in each others heads when you are editing, and that could get very difficult or very entertaining! I could see it coming to a breaking point so easily!😜 I cant wait to see the next serial as it posts, now that I know more about your process.
OMG I would love an Inheritance sequel. I loved it so much and I have been keeping my fingers crossed that there are more. Thanks for the insight in how you guys write, I always wondered!
I vote for either Innkeeper or Inheritance as the serial. Seems like Innkeeper would be harder and longer because of all the threads to tie together, but you probably already have ideas there. No matter what, the result will be fabulous and I will attempt chalant-ness. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for sharing an insight into how you write together. It’s not usual but is fascinating to many of us.
I’m looking forward to a new serial. I read aloud the last serial (Inheritance) to my son as a bedtime story and he absolutely loved it, as did I. I’m sure whatever you choose to write about will be wonderful and we will all look forward to reading it!
“serial” immediately makes me think “Innkeeper”
– and not just because it’s my favourite series, but that’s what really changed my mind about waiting a week between chapters – the whole experience was so fun!
also, hear me out – I think out of all the series, Innkeeper is kinda the most suited for serial form, in a sense? I would really rather read Hugh 2 all at once as I couldn’t bear the suspense…
but if it was a possibility, then PUFFLES would be my no. 1 choice!!!
yes, Puffles!!!
Omg 😲 😱 😲
so excited 😊
thank you!!
so sorry to hear about the loss of your fur babies! you are amazing pet owners and I know they had a wonderful, loving family! sending you all hugs and healing vibes!
IMHO 100% agree with Gordon. Inheritance needs a sequel!
Thanks, I am just starting a story (about neighbors and bees) with my sister, and I have never written with someone else. I’m sure we’ll need some adjustments (She has ALS), but some of what you discussed helped give me some ideas as to split the work, such as each of us taking a person in the dialogue, etc. It’s important to me that she enjoys the process, as there is little these days she can do except therapy for her illness and lots of contemplation time, as she can’t move much at all. I’m hoping our story is a diversion for her mind. Anyway, Cheers and thanks again.
What a great way for you two to spend time together! That is so cool.
Thank you for sharing how you work together.
I vote for the wedding. Remember the last lines of Sweep of the Heart?. Gertrude Hunt seems to want to attend. I’m sure it will bring friends.
Please – the timeline / place issues to be cleared up with Inheritance and Innkeeper. Earth seems similar in both worlds, but they have different issues going on. Dina is not experiencing what Ada is.
One more mystery for me is the massive numbers of dead, alien animals at the end of Inheritance. Is this some kind of crossover to the Legacy summoners? You guys are pretty sneaky about these things.
Ada’s Earth and Dina’s Earth are not the same Earth :). The breaches connect worlds.
Oooohhhh. More on Grgor?!?!?!
So sorry about the loss of members of your cherished fur family. They must have had very happy and contented lives with you.
Thrilled about the plans for a serial. Happy with anything, anytime. Many thanks in advance. No pressure, ever.
Has the horde begun replicating itself? This is a very lengthy comment section – too long to finish reading it over morning coffee. Apologies to Mod R for making it longer still. You will need a couple of cups of whatever brew for this one!
Yay! Yay! Yay!
Also my two cents, really probably only worth one… More Puffles?
Pretty please?
I am also in favour of a sequeal to Inheritance! Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease….
I also said “sequeal” by accident, but it was my subconscious squealing through.
Please do Innkeeper, please!
The Inn opened to Maud’s world. What comes next? What did Klaus say?
Good news! We already know that 🙂 https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/i-will-explain-everything/
You may wish to check the Free Fiction page for any other bits you have missed https://ilona-andrews.com/free-fiction/
I did wonder about your writing process as your writng seems like one voice. Your explanation is truly fascinating 💜
I’m new to your writing, having taken a recommendation from an influencer I follow on Insta (thanks Aurelia 🤗) and have fallen in love and been gobbling everything up this last month or so. So grateful you’re both so talented, thank you 💜 and now I have a duo to add to my fav authors list 🤗
Also been seeing references to your blog stories and can’t wait to experience that now too 🥰
I’m also dying to know what’s next with Inheritance (though I adore your Innkeeper and Hidden Legacy series too)
Sequel to Inheritance, YES! The second installment (of many) in Ada’s story should be top of any list.
It sounds like there are already plans for further ripper cushions. However that comes to be, it should also be high in the queue.
I’m seriously looking forward to a new serial. I miss them.
I would love inheritance sequel, or new KD entry, or really anything you guys want to craft. 🙂
My greatest wish is honestly that both of you get enough rest to stay healthy and maintain your creativity.
I enjoyed this post so much!! Sooooo happy for more serial posts.
– sincerely, a longtime BDH member
Do people who comment on this blog really say things like “I don’t know why anyone would read this”? I would hope if you’re here and take the time to comment, that you are a nice person, but I guess that’s too much to hope for these days. I really don’t understand why people can’t dislike something in silence. Anyway … I’m in the “yay there’s a new blog post!” camp, no matter what it is. 🙂
Yes, sadly that is a direct quote of a comment I’ve had to pull. Unfortunately, not before Ilona and Gordon saw it 🙁
O_O
Got to be trolls. Seriously, who does that?
Thank you so much for all that you do for us! Serials are amazing! (Also in full agreement that Arabella would make a fabulous serial. That being said, anything you choose do write is always devoured with relish and fervour.)
So sorry to hear about to your losses. Sending metaphorical fruit baskets.
Be Safe and Well
A new serial!!! Yaaaaay! AND a sequel to The Inheritance! OMG. It’s a good thing I am sitting down.
Pets are family. The grief on their passing will fade, but the joy of their life will last forever…
Ooooh! SO exciting! A new serial!! I’m with Gorden about more Inheritance. But also could totally go for more snippets from Hugh and Elara. And Julie. And Arabella et al., And… oh never mind, anything you write will be deliciously devoured. Thank you!!!
Yes please! More Inheritence. Lots of love, BDH
Looking forward to whatever you write with great patience and nonchalance. So sorry about your furry friends crossing the bridge.
I would be happy with anything. Though judging by these comments, I must be the only one dying for a Sanctuary sequel. I really want to know what those weird priests worship.
Fantastic! What a great birthday present. ☺️
More Inheritance would be wonderful.
I’m new to this blog, and I am absolutely LOVING it! Thank you both so much for all the time, creativity, and heart you put into your books and into connecting with your readers in this blog! I’ve been a huge fan of your writing, and I’m always excited to see what you have in store for us next!
But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give us a sequel to The Inheritance! I absolutely loved that book and have already reread it several times! I am so invested in the characters and their world, and I NEED to know what happens next! There is so much more story to tell, and I am here for ALL of it!
Thank you again for sharing your incredible imaginations with us!!
Just out of curiosity, how fast does Gordon type? I know Ilona said she’s trained herself to dictate, but trying to keep up with someone else’s talking is SO HARD. And from the other side, saying something and then being told I didn’t catch that, say it again…. I feel like it never comes out quite as well as it did the first time. I’m always reminded of that Shel Silverstein poem Blame.
Inheritance (Love, love, love) or Innkeeper Chronicles (It’s been so long since I’ve visited Gertrude Hunt!). Please, please, please!
Tubby and Tuna are absolutely adorable. I was sorry to hear about loss of your pets on top of all the stress you went through with the editing deadlines this year. Please, please take care of yourself.
I was trying to introduce my husband to your writing for a while (I’ve been a huge fan of your books for years, but relatively new to BDH) and The Inheritance was the first book he read. I can’t wait to read more about Ada and Bear and share it with him. But if some other story would bring you more joy, I will gratefully read it too. I love everything you write.
Thank you for sharing your writing process with us. I was always wondering how your writing partnership works.
Thank you for your description of how you both write together. I have wondered and I love how you both make it worth. I also loved the pics of your “assistants” obviously “helping” you. I suspect Tuna was helping you take the break he was sure you needed. I love the idea of a new serial series. It will be so appreciated and enjoyed. I am so looking forward to it. Thank you for being willing to do it.
An Innkeeper short? Something whimsical and light because this timeline currently sucks.
Although, the 4 day Highland cow escapade in NY was a fun diversion!
Yipeeeeeee!
I may have exclaimed loudly in excitement when I read it could be the Inheritance. That story is one of my favorites and I cannot wait to read more of it.
Please pardon me, but i have to say it:
* Wilmington 3; ** Heir 2; *** Hugh 2; *** Innkeepers next; ** Hidden Legacy
Thank you.
So much to pack up into my Baggage of…….. JOY!!!!!! The good AND the bad news is I have not, in fact, read The Inheritance yet…. I will savour that over the 6-week Aussie Christmas break; it’s good working at a school…
-gasp-!!!! That is SUCH a good feeling. I am so excited for you to read The Inheritance. The anticipation is going to make it even better.
If you write it, I will read it. I chalantly wait for the next installment of whatever House Andrews writes.
Love all this! Thanks for sharing!! (And are there actually people who come here and ever say your writing is a waste of time??? That blows my mind).
I love hearing about your process, I am always wondering things about how you make story lines; *SPOILER ALERT*
Like for KD which is what I’m currently rereading for the **tenth time
Did you know what
Would eventually happen to Roland and when? Did you know that Erra would come back when you wrote book 4? So many questions I’d love to pick your brains over coffee! Or on a plane!! Heaven help you if you are ever sat next to me on a plane!
This was a fun read. Thank you for sharing your life with the very chalant horde.
i loved hearing more about how Ilona and Gordon write together. i’ve never written anything with someone else before, so was difficult for my brain to imagine how it works.
“the hoard dictates” hehehe, yes it does. like when we all collectively panicked about the dog in Inheritance, and needed lots and lots of repeated reassurance that the Bear wouldn’t get killed off.
i will happily read anything you write. any serial you share will be instantly devoured! i hope you are able to find a story that easily falls right out of you before you have to start writing the third TKWNKM book that is under contract.
For Trick or Treat Giveaway.
I would want to go with Kate Daniel. She would have interesting stories about her family, friends, events in life, with discussions on life itself.
Entries need to be submitted on the giveaway post to count.
I love this so much, both the prospect of a new serial and the information about your writing process. It seems like how you write may have changed as Ilona’s hands have been fighting the typing? Whatever you are doing, it is obviously working well.
I think a fun short would be for Helen to stay at the Inn for Halloween and Dina and Maud could take her trick or treating. She wouldn’t have to hide her fangs. Hopefully she would have fun. I know I would love to read it.
I have a Frenchie. His name is Dutch, he’s a Brindle. He’s 1 1/2, and full of piss and vinegar. Male Frenchies are very different from Female Frenchies. We had Belle for 14 years and then waited 2 years before we got him.
does anyone else remember the terrifying short story they wrote about a bathroom at a road stop? it’s totally ruined car travel for me. no matter where I stop to potty, I think of that disgusting slaughter room. and if I have to stop at night? oh boy it’s traumatic! all that to ask, please no scary stories like that one, I can’t handle it. LoL
umm… “Last short was Maud and Armand’s wedding prep”
Where could I find this? I can’t believe I missed it – I read the blog every day!
Hints?
The main hint is that you can find it where you find *all* of the free fiction and snippets – on the Free Fiction page https://ilona-andrews.com/free-fiction/ 🙂
For Klaus + Maud and Arland wedding prep, you want https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/i-will-explain-everything/
This is so timely. A few days ago, I was talking to family about ‘House Andrews’ explaining you actually write together and they asked how does that work?
I said I’m certain Gordon has input into male characters and fight scenes but other than that, I’m really not sure. Now I know and I love that you share so much of the process with us. 😊
I also adore the snippets, particularly alt POVs of things already written and it’s fabulous that you do those for us.
Blood Heir’s sequel is clearly a long time away (understandably) but a POV from Derek could fill that gap nicely for a lot us…just saying… 😉
Love this! Haven’t been part of the horde for long so appreciate details of the process. Now thinking Gordon was the author of the inspired use of profanity by Maggie in TKWNKM.
Thank you so much! I loved Inheritance and also Hidden Legacy and also everything else, so I will be delighted with whatever inspires you. We are a lucky horde.
Well this is both exciting and unexpected! Fall tends to be a rough time for me. My autoimmune stuff does not play nicely with barometric changes and lack of sunlight. Happy to have something to anticipate with a smile!
Thank you!!!
I misread the image & just briefly had the hilarious thought that you each write with one side of the keyboard (like 2 pianists on 1 piano) using one hand each! XD
I’m going to sleep now
Am I the only one hoping for more Puffles? Will be ecstatically happy with whatever happens though
Loved hearing about your work process. I would love, love, love a sequel to The Inheritance. I usually don’t read serials, because I am too impatient for the ending. I was just so excited for every installment of The Inheritance that I have changed my opinion.
So exciting when we get to embark on this project journey! We adore all the things!
Did I sing a little song about how happy this news made me? Yes. Yes, I did. Thank you!
Yesssss!!!! So excited!!!! Would love an inheritance sequel but everything you write is amazing so whatever works best for you guys 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I would love a sequel to inheritance! I adore Ada and Elias. I have the audiobook and the book. I listen to it and re-read it.
Thanks in advance for whatever fabulosity you have in store for us. Very needed and appreciated.
Thank you for picking Ada and Elias for this. Ada is approaching Kate levels of positioning in my head and is currently at par with Dina.
Thank you for giving us a serial, and this blog.
Instead of a sequel to Inheritance, I would like to request a spinoff about Jackson, the hot magical healer. What happened in Japan?
I’m confused! I thought that Inheritance was always going to have a sequel or two. Was that just all in my imagination?
Inheritance having a sequel does not automatically mean the Inheritance sequel is the next serial project. Where is the confusion? 🙂
Mod R, I realky love your new Avatar!!@
I wanted to suggest a serial fiction project but you have been working so hard on epic fantasy that I thought you might want to rest up before the next book.
Thanks for the glimpse into your joint writing process. I need to learn how to dictate because periodically my right hand goes out of commission.
I look forward to your new serial, whatever it turns out to be. 💖
I am all for a new web serial. But please write a sequence to some existing stories?
I am always afraid when an author open lots of series because a lot of the time, they don’t finish all those series.
currently you have (that I recall right now)
Kate Deniel Universe which branch in to 3 separate series (Kate, Julie, Hugh)
Innkeeper
Inheritance
Maggie
Then there is Arabella from Hidden Legacy.
That is a lot.
But of course, you must write what you hand desire.
Personally, I will be happy with snippet, extra scene, different POV. I think this should be more fun for you to write? Less stress, anyway. And if you are too tired to write extra, you can always pick some random deleted scene for us.
Love love love anything we get!! Super curious about all the other irons in the fire. And than you for the glimpse into how the two of you co-write!
In favor of a sequel to The Inheritance, which I reread often, but The Innkeeper series is a favorite as well. Thank you! Luv the serials.
What I like about your work (or any book really) is that ‘what if’ – i.e. what if portals opened up and people developed powers? Not just the surviving and HEA, but downsides to having powers and how they affect relationships. I would love to find out more about Bear and Elias’ new kitten!
This will be GREAT fun and we cannot thank you enough as we all go down into the dark and the cold this time of year. We will be chalant in the face of any delays or pauses. Please do care for yourselves as well.
thank you thank you ❤️ !
HUZZZAHHHH
I have opinions and desires for certain story lined. But anything you feel good writing as a serial will be so enjoyable for us. I have been jonesing for IA stories. P*itience in so hard.
Thank You!!!
I loved this post! First because I always love the insight into y’all’s writing process (especially photos of your adorable assistants). Second because I LOVED the Inheritance and would truly appreciate any further peeks we might be allowed into ADA’s world!
So sorry to hear about fur babies that have passed. It’s such a difficult experience with 1, and I imagine 3 to be utterly heartbreaking.
Thanks for everything you, Gordon, and Mod R do for us all!! <3
I look forward to whatever you’ll choose, but really really really would love another Innkeeper story. I love the humor in that series that’s different from the rest of your books, and they’re something my adult son and I enjoy sharing.
Thanks in advance ❤️
Well I for one hope Gordon’s idea prevails, the continuation of Inheritance story in serial form would be awesome, especially as that’s the way it started.
Condolences on the loss of three of your pets, they make up a special part of a family and it’s heartbreaking to say goodbye when it’s their time 💔
I still love that you write together. It’s amazing to see the things you both come up with! I’m looking forward to more in The Inheritance and Maggie universes!
Ohhhh – Gordon forever!!! Next Inheritance First draft yes please!!! I (and I expect many others) hear your pain about the loss of beloved fur children. No more needs to be said. I’m glad you have Tuna in your lives – we all need more Tuna!!! And – thank you for explaining the mechanics of co-authoring for you. I’ve often wondered and your particular method seems very special and perhaps sheds some light on why your output is so unique.
Here I am, sleepless in another part of the Hill Country and worrying over my elderly dad, and at 0’dark:30 I see this fantastic post.
I need some light. Thank you!
I vote for inheritance 2
I am definitely up for more Elias…can you say dreamy??? But…I need more on The Innkeeper Chronicles. I’ve been reading Dina’s trials, tribulations and triumphs since the first serial installment and seriously need questions answered. Not being obnoxious here, just stating a deeply held desire. 😉 Thanks!
we as a horde 100% want you to experience joy and will happily devour the results of those efforts
I started writing for the first time in over a decade (I won a pitch session at the first Storycon- that story still hasn’t made it into the hands of the kind soul who gave me feedback). I’m a professional creative in a different field and I literally just sit down to write what sounds fun for me in that moment and it’s the most I’ve done in years
Love to see more of Inheritance, then again, we are at such an interesting point in the Inkeeper chronicles…just write, please.
Arabella’s story 🙏
Thank you for letting us in on your writing together. LOVE the two pics of Tubby and Tuna = wow, they have mastered communication with looks!!
I grieve with you on losing three elder pets. Sigh. No words. Sorry.
Write whatever makes you happy and flows easily!
THANK YOU!
Im totally with Gordon in wanting the serial to be the sequel to Inheritance. Pleeeeaaase! I have a doggo who found her role model and she needs more story about her hero. My doggo is a white german shepherd, with the coloring of a toasted marshmallow (cream with reddish tan points and saddle slowly coming in). Please do not make my doggo sad.
I would like to put in a vote for another Kinsmen story because I love them and because I know Hugh does not meet the criteria for this serial.
Thank you! What amazing news!
Also, having just reread the Inheritance, I am fully team Gordon on this one.
ok ….great …but please dont leave us whitout Infos to the Series of Innkepper and what of the Second Hugh book ?
thanks
I would love a sequel to The Inheritance. No pressure though
“Gordon is strongly in favor of a sequel to Inheritance. My fear is that it will grow.”
These are both Horde approved.
Please, thank you, and we hope it is fun to write it. There is a lot with Powers/who counters who/fun politics/outsider looking in on annoying guild politics that you can expand in the world upon. I think for those of us who have read and liked Solo Leveling we see a lot of material you can write about in your voice and world. And we are so looking forward to it.
But please let this be fun for you. We want the source of our sustenance to be happy and healthy.
Thank you! So fun to learn so much about your process. Also, thank you for meeting my request— almost sure it was more pet pics!!!
Thank you! This all sounds amazing. I especially like that you are leaning towards the Inheritance series for the serial posts!🐾🐻
Absolutely loved Inheritance and have been hoping for sequel, so I’m down for that! BUT, whatever you serialize will be welcome and make me ever so happy! It is getting a special present and warms my cockles (whatever they are ha), so thank you in advance!
A weekly or even monthly serial would be SO GREAT. Inheritance yeah, ir perhaps a new innkeeper? Pretty please… Or Hugh 2, that would be SOOOOO EPIC.
Anyway looking forward to whatever you gift us :-)))
We had to let go Mira, our only dog in August. There are no words, but a lot of live.
Love!
I love the your serials – they always make my day….. I start checking the blog around 9:00 am. After reading the blog it puts a smile on my face and the day/week is just a little bit better!! Thank you for thinking of us – I will adore whatever you choose!!
Fantastic, thank you ☺️☺️.
I’m leaning towards Hugh & Elara. I loved their dynamic.
I wouldn’t be adverse to Innkeeper with the parents being found.
Or the Inheritance.
Or more of the Wilmington series with Kate, Curran & Conlan & the what’s in the towers.
Can’t wait to see what you choose.
Yay! Return of the serial. :-} So fun. Inheritance, Innkeeper… will be happy with what you want to give. It’s all good. Thank you.
Bummer! Loss of fur babies.:-[ been there. Not fun. Sorry for your sad losses.
Do you write your pets as characters in your books (like maybe transfer pet quirks into human quirks in a character?)
Oh my gosh. A serial! So this is how I got addicted to you ( in a good way). It was the time of covid and life was abbreviated and sad. So, whatever you can do, I know the horde will be happy. As I know in life 99.9% is not perfect, age has its benefits, whatever you present will be appreciated. Thank you for being generous and kind authors. Side note, three years after losing Phineas Emmett- cat extraordinaire, I hope to befriend a new pal in November I am very excited and nervous 😸
I found it really interesting how you two write together, as I had often wondered how it worked.
I would LOVE an Inheritance serial please 🙏 😁
Thank you for A. The possibility of more fun, and B. A window into your writing style
