Tomorrow we finally enter Kair Toren, the capital of the kingdom of Rellas.

Its lynchpin is the Sun Margrave. The man who stands between order and lawlessness.

Maggie knows exactly what he represents, because This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me drops a fan into its fantasy world.

She’s reread these books until she knows the details, people and moments that mattered by heart. She knows how this story is supposed to go.

That certainty might be the most dangerous thing she brings into this world.

“Who is the Sun Margrave?” Kaiden asked.

“He’s the man who leads the Justice Chamber,” Clover told him. “When
people commit crimes against the kingdom, he is the one who brings the cases
before the High Court.”

“Margrave is a military title,” Reynald explained. “It means lord who defends
a border. The Sun Margrave also guards a boundary, the one between lawlessness and order.”

Our long w*it is almost over, and suddenly everything is happening at once.

House Andrews are on tour meeting readers and signing books. If you’re going to see them, send them the love of all of us who can’t be there.

They left me with lots of surprise goodies for you over the release period, bonus scenes and more eye candy art reveals.

Speaking of eye candy, the book is starting to roll out worldwide. Here are announcements for the French, German and Spanish editions, with Polish, Slovakian and Ukrainian editions on the way.

        That’s why I decided not to get the French edition… June 24th… This w*it would most definitely HAVE killed me!

        I may get it for eye candy, but my “English” book is on the way woot woot!

        And I don’t know why, but IA is the only one I can’t read in german. It’s just… Idk, too strange to read? Like the style doesn’t translate well into the german language (for me, at least).

        Nice side effect: My englisch reading abilities are top notch by now XD

        • I have the same issue. Once I learned to read the original I just can’t go back to translations. There’s just so many little things lost even if the translation is good and specific terms translation (such as the Beastlord etc.) sometimes just feel weird. And sadly, great many books just don’t get translated at all. To my knowledge only Kate Daniels series has a Czech translation. The rest is either English, or you’re out of luck.

  5. So are the French and German editions leaving the title in English?? They have very beautiful page edges.

    • The German translations usually do leave the English title, especially for books where the audience is likely to be reading about it on international social media. Most young people have quite good English but may not want to read whole novels in it, so the bookshops will probably sell both originals and translation of bestsellers. Sometimes even books written in German will get English especially titles if the publisher hopes they’ll be translated.

      • Also, we Germans fancy any- and everything English-sounding, even if it’s made-up. We don’t care. It sounds “cool”. That’s why we call mobile phones “handy”in German (like, that’s the actual word), overhead projectors “beamer” and, apparently slightly disturbing in some English-speaking countries, if there’s e.g. a soccer tournament and big screens project that in the city centers, that’s a “public viewing”. They sometimes even re-name complicated English movie titles into different, English ones for German audiences 😀 (e.g. “mean girls” became “girls club”, “miss congeniality” became “miss undercover”…) you can imagine our surprise when we realize we are the only ones using those not-actually-English titles/words 😀

  6. Wohoo! I got very lucky last week at the local bookstore in Germany and am in the middle of my second read. I can‘t w*it for the spoiler thread. The questions, the theories, all the theories 🙃

    Even though my main question remains spoiler free: what is the name that came out of the character name search blog post a while back? (The one that had to be repeated because the first one went sideways somehow in the comments.)

    What was the latest high-level plan of our beloved authors with regards to the other books – I vaguely remember something about a wedding. Anything on Inheritance?

      And only if you can devour-devour the entire offering that quickly!

      This poor soon-to-devourer has to wa*t until just after dawn (6AM and autumn is creeping here), so if you ARE so lucky then you are indeed so very LUCKY! (Enjoy!)

    • I am on the west coast of the US and all new releases drop at 9:01 pm over here. But I still read till dawn!

      • We read at midnight! Or whenever we each finalllllyy get our own copy. I’m making a day by day schedule of the non-reading things I MUST do this week, since I’m not sure how long the first read will take. As soon as my husband gets home we will watch the last episode of Pursuit of Jade, an awesome w*it distraction!

      I’m on Central Time US which means I’ll hopefully get it on my Kindle at 11:01 pm. I’ll eat, hydrate and rest beforehand so I have no distractions. Maybe a cup of coffee midway through…. I’m pumped!!!!

        So, if you only have two bouts of p@tience’s, then you are working on an “Exactor”.

        Am I being pedantic? No, I am being horsey-dantic.

        (Horse Racing Emthusiasts are almost as bad as the BDH. When the two converge, like in me, LOOK OUT)

  22. From the UK. I hadn’t checked my emails this morning so got a nice surprise when the postman came and my book from waterstones was delivered. Going to try to read tomorrow as wanted to finish some needlefelt pieces I started and will try not to read in the middle of the night.

    Must resist, must be patient, must resist the journey into a new world and new fun characters. Will resist.

    Ahhh. Maybe just a few chapters then get back to the felting.

    • Same here…but I have to say that I have checked mine a couple of times already this morning (it’s 1130a PDT) Just In Case the kindle god has taken pity on us… lolol. I will definitely be kissing my family good night at 9pm. 🙂

  40. Is it just me or is this release just, well, bigger? It feels like more than just “oh, here’s a new series by my favorite authors.” It feels like a statement series.

    • In many ways, it’s is!

      It’s a new genre for the Authors and for most of their existing readers, so audience widening and very likely paving the way.

      It’s their return to traditional publishing after the break they took since Ruby Fever.

      And above all it’s really a project they worked and believed in a lot to make it happen, and which was snapped up by so many publishers around the world, and are now releasing promo and marketing efforts to match their enthusiasm 🙂

I thought I would have to w@it until my pre-ordered ebook would land on april 2nd, so imagine my joy when I got a call this weekend from my sister breathlessly telling me she was in a bookstore in The Hague (Netherlands) holding 2 copies of TKWNKM! She faithfully handed over one of her ill gotten treasures yesterday. Today’s train commute was much to short for my liking but tomorrow is my day off and I will blissfully spend it in Rellas.

  45. Question! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I preordered TKWNKM on my Kindle but would rather buy the ebook direct from IA like I did with Beast Business since that worked so well. Will that be an option again?

    Side note: I’m in Louisville and just registered for the book signing with our author overlords in Lexington. So excited!!!

    • No, This Kingdom is traditionally published and will not be sold directly, only through retailers 🙂

  47. I will get the Kindle copy tonight at midnight and my hardcover gets delivered on Friday. I have been training for an all night reading marathon for months! Will be drinking Coke Zero for the caffeine boost! I have been waiting for this for over two years (ever since I read the original manuscript) and I am done with that!

  51. I have been reading “Sweep of the Blade” because, well…you all know why.
    I’ve also gone all the way down the rabbit hole of the recommended Netflix series that Grace Draven and Ilona mentioned, “Pursuit of Jade” and it was absolutely spell binding.
    I will say it has subtitles, but they are very well done.
    The visuals are amazingly beautiful. It is a period medieval piece, and the story line follows interesting twists. Once again, a fantastic recommendation from Ilona and Grace Draven.

    • We watched the last episode of Pursuit of Jade, which Netflix conveniently dropped today. Good distraction from w*iting! I’m wondering if there’s a kind BDH member at Netflix who made sure we had something awesome to watch in the last hard days of w*iting… But for those who must w*it longer, I highly recommend PoJ. Or for the unknowable aftertime, once the new book is tragically read to the end.

  52. I have my tickets in hand for the Barnes & Noble tour event tomorrow in Austin.
    I plan to nap this afternoon, then grab Maggie when my ebook drops at midnight and read until my eyes cross.
    My husband has kindly agreed to get me into the car regardless of my condition and make sure I reach B&N in time to grab my hard copy of Maggie, and listen to Ilona and Gordon.
    The scope of Maggie is going to bring HA to a much wider audience base, and the horde has a front row seat, helping to make it happen.

  57. It will begin squeezed into two breaks and one lunch at work (cup ramen), and then enjoyed once I’m finally back home. I won’t be wasting time cooking, so I’ll probably be reading while snacking on my favorite brie with crackers, and slices of cosmic crisp apples (which I’m obsessed with right now).

    • I haven’t yet seen the website, but I am sure it will have a lot of the beautiful art 😍.

      There will be merch featuring the merch when the Ilona Andrews store returns in mid-April, as well as vellum inserts to insert into the hardback copies.

  66. The w*it just might kill me! Since I loved the signed Waterstones edition, I decided get it shipped to Canada. I just received an email that it is being processed by the Royal Mail. If only there was a handy portal nearby! I do have the ebook on hold at the library (#106 in line!). Ah well, since I do have an especially long day at work, maybe this was all meant to be.

    • India is one of the markets served by the UK edition, which has the release date of 2nd of April, yes 🙂

    I was just perusing the section for new Hordelings, and the last section “Do you have anything for me to try”… It says theres free books in the store to try, but theres no link to the store. Even as a longtime BDHer I didn’t know how to get to the store without a lot of searching. Is it possible to add a link to the store from that point?

I think I speak for all your fans here that we don’t even read what book is about when it comes to you. We just know it’s gonna be awesome. I am so looking forward to tomorrow. Your books and couple of other writers’ are the only thing that make me focus on the story nowadays.
