There are shape-shifters, it’s fast-paced, has action adventure and some romance. To get the most out of it, start with the first book.

Any story that has tree cities, even in passing, will catch me everytime. on my bedside table is my phone charging station, water bottle, a spider plant baby and a spritzer bottle because my cats have decided the baby spider plant is the toy du jour and now I must guard it in even my sleep.

    I am reading The Comfort of Ghosts by Jacqueline Winspear. This is the last in her wonderful Maisie Dobbs series. I have not wanted to read it because I don’t want this character to end, but it’s time. I’m in the throes of moving, so endings and beginnings are my current theme.

    Currently reading “The Grieving Brain” by Mary Frances O’Connor (because I need it.)

    I know this is supposed to be short, but I have been out of commission, and am just beginning to come up for air since my husband, Steve (married 45 years) died of cancer on May 14, in hospice facility for end of life care since May 8.

    The grief book is one of the 5 books on my nightstand right now, including 2 recent IA books, Seana Kelly’s latest, and a beautiful non-fantasy book called Peace Like a River by Leif Enger.

    I know HA have some roots here in WNC, and it is (or has been) difficult for me to go to large cities where their signings are held, but if they are ever nearby, I really want to meet them.

Excellent read supplementing her Midlife Crisis in Gretna Green, Scotland series. It was Linzi who alerted me to TKWNKM when it came out, I have now read it several times.
