Do you have a list of book ideas somewhere that are very out of your usual genres or don’t have time for? Have you ever thought about starting over under a pseudonym? Yes, but probably not for the most obvious reason. 🙂 Let’s cover the more traditional uses for a pseudonym. From a publisher’s point

Business Monday
Thank you so much for all of the well-wishers and worrying. We are okay. Kid 1 made it home safe. Kid 2 made an 88 on her latest cellular biology exam, which is some sort of miracle considering everything that went on. Batty and Boots, the semi-feral and the feral cat, made it through, and

Here We Go Again
This is what it looked like 15 minutes ago, when I talked to Kid 1. It’s worse now. And now it’s snowing sideways because of the lovely Texas wind. Looks like our kid isn’t coming home today.
Still Experiencing Power Outages
A quick note, since we don’t know how long the power will last. The power comes on randomly, lasts for between 3-4 hours, and then goes off for about 4-6 hours. There doesn’t seem to be a schedule. They’ve repeatedly attempted to turn it on during last night, but something must’ve gone wrong because it

Too Much
“Do you need to rest?” I asked. Alessandro paused midway up the stairs and pivoted to me, [Redacted] draped over his shoulders and back in classic fireman’s carry. “Why?” Because you are carrying a two-hundred-pound man up a narrow winding stairway consisting of seventy-five steps? “I thought you might want to take a short break.”

My Terrible Addiction to Renovation Shows.
Last year really beat me up. I still haven’t recovered. The work is a huge slog. We’re writing at about half the usual pace. I’m really tired creatively and have to take frequent breaks. It’s a terrible thing, because normally my brain processes things and chews through the next scene of the book while I
