House Andrews have received their author copies of the Arcane Society Hidden Legacy Special Edition Box, which contains Nevada’s trilogy: Burn for Me, White Hot and Wildfire.

They are stunning hardcovers, with sprayed edges and dust jacket illustrations by the very talented @helena.illustrated. I have it on good authority that Kid 2, a book connoisseur, has immediately nabbed the set for her own enjoyment.

As per tradition, one of you also gets to walk away with the special edition box like a triumphant ferret at the end of a very shiny heist. And the best part (I think), House Andrews’ signature and personalised dedication are available upon winner request!

  5. I am thankful every day for my life. I have a wonderful boyfriend and I just sold my business of 45 years to a 38 year old girl who will continue my legacy.
    I am thankful for all the books on Nevada Baylor that I have read and re-read many times. And I am looking forward to many more books to read!

  21. If I say this enough it’ll be true: I’m thankful that the car wreck I was in a few weeks ago wasn’t that bad. No one was hurt and the cars were drivable and can be fixed. I guess “super aggravating” and “grateful” aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive but it sure has felt like it.

  22. I am grateful for writers (looking at you IA) who create beautiful worlds with smart, hardworking characters that go on adventures and overcome big challenges which in turn inspire us to do the hard things in real life too!

  23. Some days, I find it difficult to scrounge up gratitude. Today, with Covid hitting my household and causing discomfort for me and my toddler, I guess I’m grateful that the pandemic is no longer a thing, that the vaccine I got a month or two ago means I only have a sore throat and minor discomfort, and that my kid wasn’t hit badly and is trooping along like usual. I am grateful for our decent immune systems and the health of my family in general.

  26. I’m thankful for my strength and perseverance this year. It’s been one of the worst years of my life and I’m proud to have survived it.

  27. Woke up with a migraine at 4am and took all of my meds for it. No longer in pain, but now I’m too zonked out to do anything but read on my phone. So I’m thankful to have all of your books on my phone to pick something I like to reread without minding that I’m likely to doze off again in the middle.

  33. I am grateful for my health. 2019-2021 were really rough with chronic conditions made far worse, resulting in my gratitude for a wheelchair. Medication changes were made and I found myself able to walk again in 2022 and 2023 found me riding my bike again, for the first time in seven years. I now ride extensively. I returned to work in 2024. I’ve lost much of the excess weight I’d gained. I still cope with much, but it is so much better. I am eternally grateful for my health. I am also grateful for the wonderful authors whose works I get to listen to while riding!!

    The years since covid have been rough for my daughter – she is high risk for covid (and flu) and between medical issues, the advice to wait until she started school to get her tested for ADHD (because with parks and sensory gyms and art classes and hiking and so forth we were supporting her so well and all of that went awau with covid and not all of it still existed by the time kids had a vaccine), and the worldnfoibg crazy. She struggled and I had no time.

    But she a year ago we got the right diagnosis for the “other” that was not just ADHD, I changed my parenting to fit and she is doing so much better.

    So I have time to read.

    (But really I am thankful that we figured out how better to help her and I get to watch her do so much better.)

  37. I’m so grateful for health! My husband recovered from a long chronic illness this year, and it’s been so amazing for our whole family. Recovery is possible!

I bought a Vosges chocolate advent calendar years ago and decided to gift one to my sister a year or two later so we could open them together and feel closer during the holidays as I lived in Alaska and she in Missouri. This year we bought my mom, niece, and lovely new niece-in-law their own Vosges advent calendars so we could make this a family tradition. There isn’t anything more important than family and I am so thankful to have this tradition to help draw us closer together even when we’re living so far apart.

  184. My greatest blessing is that I have the ability to choose. Unlike so many in this world, especially women and children, I can choose what to do next in my life. Sometimes too many choices can feel overwhelming, it’s true. But at least I am generally choosing which good thing I wish to move towards not trying to choose how to avoid bad situations or save my children from bad situations (war, poverty, abuse). As I watch my nation deteriorate, which is of course disconcerting and frightening, I remind myself that I can choose when and where to stand in the gap. Unlike so many in the world, I still have a voice and I have the ability to choose to stay or to leave and begin a new life elsewhere. I am blessed in my family, friends, career, education, and spirit. I choose a life of goodness, wholeness, compassion, kindness, and empathy.

  186. I’m thankful for my team of doctors I have now. I’ve never had a team actually care enough to try and get to the roots of my problems. They actually listen to me. I’m aware how rare that is to have more than 1 doctor like that.

  207. I am thankful that (for the first time in many years) all three of my children will be home to celebrate the holidays together. Service in the USAF, bedside nursing, and careers separated us, but now all three have returned home to live in Michigan. Family = Love = Gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving!

Turns out I had totally blocked tear ducts in my left eye due to Shingles. I have been going to therapy sessions for four weeks now. I have two weeks to go and then hopefully I will be able to have cataract surgery. I can’t imagine a life without being able to read books…I am looking forward to reading about Maggie next year👍

    This is the second set I’ve been able to buy, Android both sets have been carefully stored so they won’t get damaged, where I can fondle them when I don’t feel good. (Doing a mental Snoopy dance from happiness.)

    My cats. Simon and Moonpie. They are good boys who never sit on my head when I’m asleep — they just sit on my chest and stare at me from six inches away until I wake up.   445. 2025 was a very rough year for me. I know it has generally been a scary time for many people, but in my case I had just decided to explore placing my mother Alison in Hospice when my brother let me know that he might have a cancer diagnosis. He suffered multiple aneurysms subsequent to a routine biopsy in early March and never regained consciousness. My mother had a great summer (she had advanced dementia and we never told her he had passed away) and passed away herself in September. Needless to say, the holidays are quite freighted this year. I am so grateful to have survived Thanksgiving, to have run a Turkey Trot with my sons, to have my oldest home from college and reconnecting with his very special high school XC and track teammates, and to have spent most of this particular day outside having fun and being silly. I am grateful that beauty and joy can coexist in the same time and space as grief and sorrow, and that I am somehow able to experience profound gratitude even while desperately mourning my parents and brothers.

  483. I’m grateful to a local church, who, for the 4th year in a row, donated their leftover pumpkin patch to the wildlife on our 20 acres in Mississippi. (For decades they used to pay for a dumpster and hauled to the dump.)
    The pile of pumpkins they deliver (after Halloween is over) are food for whitetailed deer, raccoons, chipmunks, birds and mice. Uneaten seeds will sprout next year creating more food for the lives that live here with us. There is no “Planet B”.
