First thing first: Ntombi, if you are seeing this, please get in touch at modr@ilona-adrews.com – you are one of the winners of the A Curse of Beasts and Magic giveaway. If we don’t hear from you by tomorrow, we will have to select someone else.
June was…a lot. Phew.
Before we head into July, here are a few admin updates, reminders, and dates for the Horde calendars.

Where Can We See House Andrews in July?
Ilona and Gordon will appear as Featured Authors.
The festival is free to attend and will give you several opportunities to see House Andrews on panels, meet them and get things signed.
You can find the complete House Andrews schedule, festival locations, signing information, and other details in my previous Columbus Book Festival post.
The following Saturday, Ilona and Gordon will join author Jean Kwok at the Barnes& Noble Arboretum in Austin to celebrate the release of Dominion, the first book in Jean’s new Silk and Iron Trilogy.
Tickets are free and will be made available through TicketLeap. According to the Barnes & Noble event page, a copy of Dominion purchased at the venue on the day will be required to join the signing line.
A very special auction item will go live on July 1st through Romancing The Vote: a private, one-hour online Ask Me Anything discussion with Ilona and Gordon for a book club of up to ten members.
The winning group will attend an exclusive live Zoom conversation with House Andrews, devoted to their books and writing, where they will have the opportunity to ask at least one question – date to be agreed by all parties to their convenience.
Romancing the Vote is a major ongoing charity initiative in which the romance writing and reading community unites to raise money for voting rights and voter access organizations in the United States.
Audio News
GraphicAudio has announced that its dramatized adaptation of Magic Tides – Wilmington Years 1 will be slightly delayed and is now scheduled for release on August 28, 2026.
Initial release dates are often assigned before recording and sound production have even begun, and the new schedule accommodates the sound designers’ holidays.
I have seen the GA script for Magic Claims and the amazing detail Nora is planning: there will be Ice Age fauna audio, inhuman Fae sounds, totally epic roaring Firsts, not to mention Kate’s vampiric rendition of Old Barrett had a farm, E i e i o. Believe me: we want those sound designers rested!
Because I know you will ask: Sapphire Flames, the other current IA preorder on GraphicAudio, remains unchanged for release on August 3, 2026.
- Beast Business audio
No, you have not missed it.
Final details for the Beast Business audiobook are being confirmed this week. The audiobook is now an alternating-POV narration, with 2 narrators covering Diana’s and Pancakes’ chapters respectively, as well as the bonus material included at the end of the book.
Recording is expected to begin in early July for both artists.
Once the performances have been recorded, the audiobook will still need to pass through editing, mastering, quality checks, and distribution before it reaches readers.
That means I do not know an official set-in-stone release date for you, nor a preorder link – we will share more information when we have it.
The rest of the updates are on the “Things Mod R Is Not Yet Allowed to Reveal” list, and I could tell you but then … you know how that goes.
May the odds be in the Horde’s favour for this second half of 2026!

First? Love you, HA, and appreciate the updates for the horde!
FIRST love! 😀
Wheee! Not going to be chalant for this. 😍
Mod R, you are the bestest!
Yay! Thanks for the updates!
Thanks for the updates Mod R! 🙂
So was pancakes recast for graphic audio?
He has indeed been recast. LaMont Ridgell did a fabulous job, but the new casting is more inline with the authors’ intentions for Augustine 🙂
While you know the Horde wants to know ALL THE THINGS! It is exciting to know that there are more updates and exciting things to be revealed at some point.
Thank you for the updates.
June was a long month. I am no wishing time away, but I’m in need of cooler weather ( 🇬🇧 )
Thank you for all the updates, comings, and goings.
I can’t wait (yes, I can, but still…) to hear the GA version of Magic Claims (aka Clams for us Horde members). Oh, to hear Kate’s rendition of “Old MacDonald” is going to be hilarious! I have to put my Nook down when I read it. Chances are I’m going to have to pause GA and laugh for a good 5 minutes or so after hearing it. That whole scene at the Order is going to be hilarious listening to it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mod R, even though you can’t give us all the info, you’re still the best. Watch out for the Dushegubs. 😉
I”m ao excited for Magic Claims GA version! its definitely one of my fave Kate Daniels books.
Stuff coming. Thank you. I need to feed my audiobook addiction.
So I’m curious, ModR… How DO you keep track of what things you can and can’t reveal and when? I’m picturing a combination of Excel spreadsheet and calendar reminders.
“OK, Google/Hey Siri, remind me to tell the Horde on such-and-such date about this-and-that.”
And is it Google or Siri? Just out of curiosity, of course, and not because I’m suggesting to any of the Horde that they should walk around your neighborhood trying to get your phone to spill any secrets. 😳😜🤪
Lists!
Hehe, and I edit a lot hehe, I actually had 2-3 more things to add, but I know I would lose everyone, especially on a Monday. So they’ll be FAQs for another day 😀
This post, right here, sums up – at least for me – why I am of the Horde.
(1) participating in a charity event for a deserving cause.
(2) supporting fellow authors at events
(3) determinedly tracking down giveaway winners
(4) ensuring that the Horde is aware of upcoming events and shiny availability
The Horde is much beloved and that love is duly returned.
Thank you, ModR, for all the intel!
Thank you, Ilona and Gordon, for all the creativity shared and for being caring humans!
Sending peace, health and safety (and air conditioning) to all!
